What is an UDF and UDT

Hi everyone,
we are using SAP Business one 2007 A and I would like to know what are User Defined Fields and User Defined Tables? What are the uses of both and what do they do? Please explain how to create a UDF and a UDT? Thank you.

The authorization is controlled in SAP B1 through Setup->User defaults and Admin->User Authorizations panel. The authorizations are based on what you provide above to marketing documents, production documents, service documents etc.
UDF is just part of above SAP B1 authorization control. You can not control authroization for just UDF you created. It is based upon what user, what authorization it has.

There are limitation to UDF, you can not pull anything everywhere or anywhere. That level of visibility will require SDK development. You just have to try and learn about the scope. I am not sure about it.
When you go tools->Customization tools->User defined field management, you will see the areas and sub levels you can use.

is clearly described in the e-learning.
The objects are UserTablesMD, UserFieldsMD, UserObjectsMD.

Asking about query update sql to UDF or UDT

Hi experts,
Is it possible to do a query update/ insert SQL to UDT or UDF in SP notification ? I don't touch any core SAP's table. Just to UDF of UDT that i create myself. Is it possible ?

Thanks For your answer . So what is differences between SBO_SP_PostTransactionNotice and SBO_SP_TransactionNotification ? Usually i use SBO_SP_TransactionNotification for blocking some document or alert. So how about SBO_SP_PostTransactionNotice ?

I'm getting this error statement: XULRUNNER error: platform version 6.0.2 is not compatible with min etc max etc6.0.1 - what is this about and how can it be corrected?

This is what I think may have happened. The other day, Thursday Sept 8th, I shut down my pc in the middle of a Firefox upgrade. Now when I try to access Firefox on my pc, I get this error message:
XULRUNNER Error: Platform version '6.0.2 is not compatible with min Version >= 6.0.1 max Version < 6.0.1
What is this about and how can I retsore access to Firefox on my pc?

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then try to disable Virtualization.
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder.

E-mails with attachments, mostly photos, are replicating themselves in my inbox, 100 or more at a time. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

It is an intermittent, but a regular-enough-to-be-really-annoying occurrence........when someone sends an e-mail, to which is attached a photo of some kind, or a picture document, it will replicate in my inbox, sometimes 100 or more copies at a time. I delete all of them, empty the trash, and will also go to the Yahoo web version of my e-mail and delete the offending e-mail from there and empty the trash. Sometimes worked. Now that process isn't working, and this particular e-mail just filled up my inbox with over 100 copies of itself, even after the other steps were taken. Can't get any incoming mail.
This log jam of replicated e-mails prevents incoming and new mail from reaching the inbox.
Needless to say, am not too happy about it. What is causing it, and how do I fix it, other than to go to Outlook for my e-mail client....? :0) This, coupled with the constant "not responding" each time I try to send an e-mail, delete items from the "sent" or inbox folders, is really driving me nuts. We have a crappy internet connection, and that is likely part of it, but the "not responding" is not a new thing with Thunderbird, either.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide. I dislike the web version of Yahoo, and don't want to have to switch to that, as it just doesn't meet e-mail needs. Would like to get Thunderbird fixed.

I have not seen your error in either my IE or my chrome. I do note that you are using a "strict" Document Type Declaration.
You might try a transitional DTD, which should be more forgiving than the strict:

Hi there
I have version 5.7 and every time I opened it I was told that updates are available and to click on the icon to access these. Instead it just took me to the
adobe page with nowhere visible to update. I then sought to download lightroom cc and this is when I could not access the 'develop' section due to reduced
functionality It was apparent that my photos had been put in cc but no way to access them unless I wanted to subscribe.
I have since remedied the problem as my original lightroom 5.7 icon is still available on the desktop and have gone back to that. I do feel that this is a bit
of a rip off and an unnecessary waste of my time though.

Hi,
Physical file is what you see from the OS level.
Logical file is what ABAP code can call certain functions to read/write.
Transaction FILE would link them together. Typically the logical path ends with "<FILENAME>", and the logical file refers to the logical path.
To extract the physical path from the logical path name
DATA: lf_mandt TYPE sy-mandt,
        lf_opsys TYPE sy-opsys.
lf_mandt = sy-mandt.
lf_opsys = sy-opsys.
To extract the physical path from the logical path name
CALL FUNCTION 'FILE_GET_NAME'
    EXPORTING
      client           = lf_mandt
      logical_filename = p_unix
      operating_system = lf_opsys
    IMPORTING
      file_name        = gwa_input
    EXCEPTIONS
      file_not_found   = 1
      OTHERS           = 2.
IF sy-subrc EQ 0.
Concatenating the physical path and the input unix file name
    CONCATENATE gwa_input p_file INTO gf_file .

Service Item:Service to create a sales document for a service that has not been defined as an Item in SAP Business One, such as a one-time consultation. please share your points.

Hi Samapth,
It is clear based on the definition you known. Depending on you business process, the more of the item types, the better. That is because you can do all kinds of analysis and breakdown the accounting details easily. Service types are usually only applied to one time or small amount sales.

Have downloaded for example: Queen – Bohemium Rhapsody from a compilation album as well as a few complete Queen Album CDs into the iTunes library and then put them into playlists,
When I go onto my phone and select Queen on the MUSIC app using Songs tab at the bottom of the screen it will display all Queen songs and their resective Alum pics, that is all those not in a complilation album, .
If I know the song title I can select the songs tab and find the song that way,
I’ve tried fiddling with the settings in the iTunes app by going to ‘get info’ tab and trying to sort the problem out that way but am not having much luck.What I want the phone to do is show, for example all Queens songs including those in compilation albums. Can this be done, would be grateful for any ideas on how it can be done, that is if ic can be done, any ideas

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

My Airport Time Capsule only works when I turn off and turn on, but I think this may end up with the unit. What can this happening and how to solve?

Hello to all, good day, sorry my english google, but it is the tool I have at the moment. I'm having trouble with my Time Capsule Airport, I made all the settings according to the manual, but there has been a connection problem with my iMac. When I finish my work I turn off the imac and then again when they return to work and care, it can not connect to Time Capsule Airport, making it impossible to remove the files and make back up by Time Machine only works when I turn off and turn on the Airport Time Capsule , but I think this may end up with the unit. What can this happening and how to solve? Thank you.
Olá a todos, bom dia, desculpe meu inglês google, mas é a ferramenta que tenho no momento. Estou tendo dificuldades com a minha Airport Time Capsule, fiz todas as configurações de acordo com o manual, mas tem existido um problema de conexão com meu iMac. Quando termino meus trabalhos desligo o imac e depois quando retorno pra trabalhar novamente e ligo, ele não se conecta a Airport Time Capsule, impossibilitando retirar os arquivos e fazer o back-up pelo Time Machine, só funciona quando desligo e ligo a Airport Time Capsule, mas acho que isso pode acabar com o aparelho. O que pode esta acontecendo e como resolver? Obrigado.

This is easier to do with pictures perhaps.. since we do not share a common language and machine translation leaves a lot to be desired.
In the airport utility bring up your Time Capsule.

So here is mine.
Click on the Edit button and give us the Internet and Wireless and Network tab..
eg.
Please also make sure you are set to ipv6 in your wireless or ethernet .. whichever is used.. and do tell which.
This is wifi in your computer.
The following are important..
DO not use long names with spaces and non-alphanumeric names.
Use short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
eg TC name. TCgen5
Wireless name TCwifi
Use WPA2 Personal security with 10-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
read apple instructions to help with TM and TC.. they did finally admit it has issues in Mavericks.
OS X Mavericks: Time Machine problems
Mount the TC manually in finder.

When asked for the password .. that is the disk access password and save it in the keychain.

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.
