What is causing lines in display and scrolling hangs

I have a 24” IMac, 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3 GB of RAM. The following problems exist and they seem to be getting worse. I regularly get thin lines, sometimes of different colors, across the display. This happens with and without open windows. In addition, I often get irregularly shaped blotches of colors appearing in the display in windows or on the bare screen. Small swatches of distorted text show up from time to time in whatever I happen to be working with.
In addition, the machine regularly hangs when I scroll up or down in various windows. It seems to at its worst in web browsers—Safari, Firefox, Camino.
I have run, and passed, all of the tests available with TechTool Pro, I have optimized the drives, and I have reinstalled Leopard. The problems persist.
Help please.

It might be the logic board, but indications are that it's an overheated graphics card. I have the exact same iMac you do (even with 3 gigs memory upgrade) and have similar problems.

  • T.code required for Vendor line item display and Customer line item display

    Hi Gurus,
Pl provide me transaction code for "Vendor line item display and " Customer line item display apart from FBL1n for vendor and FBL5n for customers.
    Kindly advise.
    Regards,
    Samar

    Hi,
You could use these, for example:
S_ALR_87012103 - List of Vendor Line Items
S_ALR_87012197 - List of Customer Line Items
Just curious: what's wrong with FBL1(5)N?

  • ECC6 - Line item display and Open item management Questions.

    Hi All,
For SAP ECC6, although I do not maintain line item display and open item management for Recon GL (for Debtor), I still can use FAGLB03 to view the GL balances and even Drill down to line item level by double click the value from FAGLB03 until line item level.
    Questions:
Could anyone confirm whether my assumption below, true?
    1) If Line item display (Tcode: FS00) is ON, then the data will be stored at table: BSIS
    2) If NO open item management, then there should be no data to be stored at table BSAS for thaty particular GL account
    3) BSAS will only have data, after clearing was carried out ... move from BSIS to BSAS.
    In ECC 6
    4) FAGLB03 can drill down to line item level, although the GL (Tcode: FS00) was NOT set open item management and line item display is because from FAGLB03 when drill down to line item level, it actually extract data from BSEG, right?
Additionally, we can use FBL3N to check the line item data for NON line item display GL as well.
In SAP R/3 4.7, if not mistaken, if the GL is NOT line item display and open item management, we cannot drill down the line item reading and CANNOT use FBL3N to check the line item data.
    Kindly advise on these.
    Thanks.
    sbmel

    1) If Line item display (Tcode: FS00) is ON, then the data will be stored at table: BSIS
BSIS is an open items table. You can see all GL open items there. GL's which are not open item managed can't go here
    2) If NO open item management, then there should be no data to be stored at table BSAS for thaty particular GL account
    Yes. Your understanding is correct
    3) BSAS will only have data, after clearing was carried out ... move from BSIS to BSAS.
Yes. In case of partial clearing data will be there in both the tables BSIS & BSAS
    4) FAGLB03 can drill down to line item level, although the GL (Tcode: FS00) was NOT set open item management and line item display is because from FAGLB03 when drill down to line item level, it actually extract data from BSEG, right?
These are New GL reports and report is based on document split object. if your document split is active at segment level then you can see line item report at segment level using FAGLL03. These reports has no link to FS00 settings.
    Hope this helps

  • Line item display and sort key

    Hello,
can anybody pls let me know how can we change layout for f-53 ad f-28 and what is the significance of using sort keys and how can we use them.
    please let me know,
    thanks

IMG: Financial Accounting -> General Ledger Accounting -> G/L Accounts -> Line Items -> Line Items -> Line Item Display -> Determine Standard Sorting for Line Items
        (Transaction OB16)
You can define sort keys that are used to determine the structure of the assignment number.
Typical fields for the assignment number are posting date, document number, fiscal
year, purchase order, cost center, document header text.
The possible values for the sort key are saved in field TZUN-ZUAWA.
You can define a sort key in the master record of a G/L, customer, or vendor account  (Transactions FS01, FD01, FK01)(Table Fields SKB1-ZUAWA, KNB1-ZUAWA, LFB1-ZUAWA).
    Assignment Number
The assignment number is used as a sort criterion. For example, the list for clearing      open items (FB05) or the line item list  (FBL3N, FBL5N, FBL1N) can be sorted by this  field. Besides this the assignment number is used as a group criterium for automatic
clearing. During document posting, the assignment number is either determined from the sort key of the account master record or you can enter it manually (a manual entry overwrites the derived value).
    Hope above clarifies your doubts..

  • Vendor Line Item display/ and Purchase order Field

    FI Experts
We recently implemented the MM PO module in SAP, we are creating PO's automatically in SAp from a 3 party system. We are using field "Our Field" EKKO-UNSEZ to enter a reference from the 3rd party system. Our account payable have requested that they need this field to display in FBL1N "Vendor Line Item Display". I tried by using special fields but table is not available. Anyone has any suggestions? I know I can use BSEG and EKKO but it is too big of a table to use. Does this requires more of an ABAP report rather than just a simple QUERY report?
    Your suggestions are appreciated.

    Hi,
PO Nr. doesn't appear in Vendor line item, but yes, in GRIR account.
So when are you performing MIRO, you may use XREF3 field, which usually remains blank, through user exit (OBBH) for populating PO Nr. But yes, if you are processing MIRO of multiple POs, you may not be able to set multiple values.

    Hi Experts,
I create dynamic tabs and inside each tab I create interactive form with PDF data inside to display PDF. After running for a while,  the CPU goes up and PC hang. What could be the problem for this? (I'm  using IE7)
    Thanks,

    Hi Thomas,
    Thank you for your reply!
I've re-designed it in a way that only one instance of Adobe Reader in the current selected tab. Whenever user choose another tab, I remove Adobe Reader from that tab and create in the new selected tab. The problem still exists. I don't know what and where exactly problem is. This is excerpt code in WDDOMODIFYVIEW to remove interactive form first and all tabs later. Do you see any problem with this piece of code?
Be noted that the IE get hang only (CPU 100%) when I run it for a while, meanings select selecte items in view1 and pdf preview in view2, back to view 1 to select other items go to view2 to preview pdf....

I have run Tech Tool Pro Advanced Tests, repaired the permissions, and restarted the computer multiple times but noting has fix the error. What is causing the error and how do I fix it?

Last night I revisited the problem and discovered that I had not emptied the Print Shop Importer from the trash. I emptied the trash, restarted the computer, and the error messages stopped. Also before I restarted the computer I noted that Time Machine had stopped backing up and that Spotlight was indexing the hard drive. I blocked the indexing before I restarted the computer. In any event the original problem seems to be fixed.

  • What's wrong with the display and what will be the solution?

It shows greenish light on bottom left side every time I it turn on and last for 5-6 mins then It turn into white like brightness is  high on that part of the display. It's hard to notice that in a room if lights are on but can easily noticeable in a dark room. I have sent it to warranty but they said it's a rare problem if its not detectable by diagnosis (May be by software) then I will not get it fix under warranty. What i will do if they could not detect the problem through diagnosis? I am from Bangladesh i have purchased it from a authorized reseller in Bangladesh apple store is not available.
Its MacBook Pro 15ins Retina Display purchased on February/2014.

There is an internal screen problem or there is a software bug a lot has been wrong with the mac with retina its just because of the display, my advice just wait until Yosemite comes out then you will resolve your problem hope. Or you can always try an SMC reset just look that up on youtube! ~STEBDOR WAS HÈRE

  • Anyone know what can cause the MXI-3 and PXI-1010 chassis to prevent PC bootup?

Situation: The PC locked up with the display blank. The PC would not bootup (not even POST) after power was cycled (several attempts).
Resolution: Simple. The chassis power was cycled and the PC was fully operational.
Background: The PC is a Dell Dimension 733 running WIN98 and used daily for production test. The test program is a combination of TestStand, instrument dll's and Labview.

    Hi,
If the pci-mxi-3 is locking up the computer the most common cause for this is a bad mxi-3 card. To check this you will want to try the mxi-3 card and chassis with another type of computer. If it doesn't boot in more than one computer of different types you will want to return the board to national instruments for repair.
Another thing that we have seen in some computers is interference or noise from the power supplies interrupting communication through the mxi-3 devices. The only thing you can really try in this case is to move the pci-mxi-2 card to another slot in the pc and see if it works, or try using a different type of pc.
Power cycling the chassis is not a valid solution as this will drop the mxi-3 link and then you will no longer be able to talk to de
vices in the pxi system. You always need to successful power the pxi-mxi-2 card and chassis before you power up your pc.

  • What's causing these power-up and login problems?

I recently switched from Tiger to Leopard (installed by the repairers) and have encountered some power-up and login problems. Basically, my set up is that the computer automatically logs into a non-admin account, launches a Safari page, and then that's it - after checking the webpage, I logout of that account, into my main account, and work from there.
    In Tiger :
A few times quite recently the computer would freeze, either while Safari was launching / opening the webpage, or when I tried to logout. Force Quit didn't work (total freeze) so I would force power-off and switch on again, and things would be fine.
In Leopard, one of the following has begun to happen, about two weeks after I began using it:
    • The computer reaches the grey screen with an endlessly rotating gear wheel. (Power off / on again)
    • The computer logs in to the account; after selecting 'Log out...' I log out, but instead of giving me the login screen, it logs straight back into that account, and this happens every time I try 'Log out...'. (Use Fast User Switching instead to reach main account, where one or two software glitches prompt a Restart) This has happened twice.
    • This morning, the computer reached the blue screen where the pointer appeared - faded - appeared - faded etc endlessly (Power off / on again).
Clearly it is not the System - experiencing problems in both Tiger and Leopard proves that. Nor is it my HD - I've had a new one installed. It must therefore be a setting in my login account, though it's hard to see what : I only use that account for login, and a single launch of Safari, and it's been ok for years.
Should i create another login account and see if that solves the problem? By the way, the repairers did not give me any Leopard install disks, so please don't suggest that method of diagnosis. I only have the original Tiger disks.

    christopher rigby1 wrote:
    2. I don't know what Apple app(s) you refer to? As I said I've upgraded all the free ones, and iLife '06 is working (and I have the disks).
Look in your Applications folder: Any Apple app there, except for the ones you've mentioned. And all the built-in parts of OSX.
    3. They told me that I CAN do a full restore from a Time Machine backup (via Disk Utility apparently).
That should tell you something about the quality of their advice.
See: [Mac OS X 10.6 Help Recovering your entire system|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/15638.html].
Or the *Restoring your entire system from a backup* section, towards the bottom of [Mac 101: Time Machine|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427].
Or look up +*Time Machine+* in Mac Help.
Or #14 in [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
And if there's a problem with your installation of OSX (which seems likely), or the Apple apps, you can't reinstall them, either.
    4. Having spent hours and hours getting the machine to work properly (upgrading Mail and sorting out Mail problems, upgrading Safari, re-upgrading iTunes and sorting out problems), I'm not prepared to spend hours and hours doing the whole thing in reverse to restore Tiger, including learning HOW to do that.
Correct; unless you have backups of the Tiger system, that's impractical at best.
So unless anyone has a reasonably simple, straightforward answer as to what this problem might be, it looks like I must live with it.
You have some sort of problem with your Mac and it's not going to get better on it's own. Most likely, it will get worse.
If you haven't, try the things recommended by Dale.
Also try running the +Apple Hardware Test.+ It's on one of the disc(s) that came with your Mac, and is tailored to it's particular hardware. The disk should have +Apple Hardware Test+ and instructions for running it printed in very tiny type.
I sympathize with your situation, but the repair shop violated the Apple license, and put you in an untenable situation. If they won't correct it by supplying the Leopard disc, you really should report them to Apple.
You need to purchase a retail copy of Leopard (not the gray discs that came with another Mac; they won't boot yours). They're not shown on the Apple Store website anymore, and eBay and other sellers get a premium for them, but AppleCare should have them for the original $129.

  • What is wrong with my display and macbook pro?

When my MacBook Pro awakes from sleep there is something wrong with the screen. It doesn't load completely and sometimes it doesn't load at all. I posted a video here to better describe what the problem is. How can I fix this?? It is annoying when I have to power off my computer almost everytime it awakes from sleep.

That almost seems like the kernel panic is having a panic...when you can, go to Software Update and update to 10.7.4. It may fix your issue.

  • What is causing an intense orange and red coloration on all my photos?

I first noticed about 2 weeks ago while i was working on a project in Premiere Elements that all persons had a very orangy complexion, and the reds were extremely intense, and this has been varying for the two weeks, from a washed out color to just rather vivid to intense.  Then i thought it was okay after i made a few changes.  The monitor had been trying to go so i replaced it, then i replaced the cable, and today the orangy complexion is back and almost as intense as before.  It is even that intense on pictures on the internet, so it is not related to photoshop, thank goodness.
    What is going?  Any suggestions?
    Ron

Thanks for the additional comments.  The plan is to output my project to a BluRay disc, and i was trying to preserve the best quality i could for the disc within the scopes of Premiere Elements.
Is there no difference or preference as to using DSLR versus a HDV project preset for best quality?
I have rendered the project, but this is where the present problem seems to be arising for me.  I guess my confusion is following your directions for your 'burning disc' workaround.  Since when i went to 'share' to burn my BluRay disc directly, i wasn't given the option of burning, because the media was 'not present' to burn??  I don't know how i could have ruined a brand new blu ray disc, so i did attempt to do your workaround method.  I may have incorrectly modified your guideline in your book, because you said to do an avi but earlier in the same chapter you said avi was for standard video, and you stated mpeg was for high definition videos.  So i tried to burn my project to a computer windows 7 file as a mpeg with the 1920x1080i, and then was going to try and burn it as i think you suggested using the computer burn options rather than Premiere Elements?.  But only 5% into the project of approximately 13 1/2 hours expected time or so it stated at that point, i got the pop up saying that my memory was extremely low and to save and proceed cautiously, so i just cancelled it.  I have been reassured with 8GB of RAM i have enough memory to do these projects.  When rendering, even though it took a long while, it kept automatically saving, and this pop up never appeared.  So i have hesitated to keep trying this again.  Yes, i need to get some rerecordable blu-ray discs to play with rather than lose one every time for whatever unknown reason, unless there is just a large percentage of faulty discs when you purchase them, and i am using Verbatim 50GB 6x???  I also keep getting the 'Adobe Premiere Elements 9 is not responding' notice, and the little swirling green circle with the 'wait for the program to respond' statement, which can be there for 30-40 minutes, plus since i rendered the project, if i reboot or exit Premiere Elements, it is taking that long and appears longer every single time to reload the program.  I was told it was best to assess the size of my project by going to share, then computer, then mpeg and put my presets in to see the actual size of the project, and that states that it is almost 45GB and is almost 2 hours in length.
Is there something wrong with my computer?  Am i missing something?  Am i doing something wrong?    I am now afraid to even try, because of the implication of too little memory.
I have spent hours on the phone with Adobe, with different technicians, some of whom speak better English, but i don't think any of them really understood the question i was calling for, and sent me off on wild good chases that were probably totally unnecessary.  That has been one of the most frustrating experiences.  I find that actually doing the project was much fun, but it has become an extremely frustrating job to get where i thought i had it exactly the way i wanted, and can't get it to the finished product.  That is when i started searching on the internet to find some kind of manual to help answer the questions i really wasn't getting answered by Adobe, even when paying for the services.  And i found your book, but the part on the burn disc workaround is not totally clear to me, and then running into these problems as i have tried to finish this project off.  This is half of the planned project, so i am anxious to get to the second part, but............
Plus the issue of the fluctuating intense oranges and reds on my monitor, i am not afraid to go ahead and edit the second group of photos for fear of having all the faces look bright orange.  I have had a computer lad come to my house, and since i knew my monitor was going, i replaced that with a new Samsung HD monitor, then i replaced the cable to it, and it still seems to be a fluctuating problem.  Is the video card the next thing to replace, or do i have a more serious problem.  My computer is one year old exactly, and it is a HP p6320f with AMD Phenom II x4 820 processor, with 8.0GB of RAM, using windows 7 65 bit operating system, and one TB on hard drive.
I feel like i have already connected to you through your book, so i have tried to spill out everything here in hopes that you can make me see the light!  I am very much a novice on these issues, just getting into photoshop in the past year, but perhaps feel i have gone far past my abilities even with just Elements 9 and Premiere Elements 9.
I certainly thank you for your comments, and hope that you could perhaps clarify your workaround to me.
    Thanks you so very much.

  • Tints and CYMK - Whats the difference for screen display and print

    Hi,
What is the 'technical' difference between a tint and CYMK? For example, if i create a box with a fill of C:0 Y:0 M:0 K:40 is this the same as a black fill with 40% tint?
Knowing that all screens and printers give different results, is the difference even noticeable? What about 'best practice' / 'industry standard'?
Workflow/context- I create artwork (documents with combinations of images, graphics and text) in either Ai or ID which all go to PDF and I present them either on screen or through print (regular printer - none of my printed artwork use printing plates).
Thanks for your advice in advance.

A tint is just a lighter version of your swatch, so yes, 0,0,0,40 CMYK is exactly the same as using the [Black] swatch and setting the tint field in the panel down to 40% or creating a tint swatch with a 40% value.
Not all colors are CMYK. On screen you use RGB and most desktop printers expect RGB data as well. On press you might use spot color inks if you have only one color and tints of that color to add, or you need some color that can't be easily produced in CMYK in a full-color job. You probably shold not be using spot color in your work since you don't go to press and printer simulations of many spot colors are quite bad. You'll find the really saturated colors tend to be out of range for most printers, too, if you use RGB, but if you can accept that your printed output may not match the screen (and unless everything in the workflow is calibrated, including ALL the monitors you might be working with and all the printers you might use for output, output on remote devices probably won't match what you see on your own monitor and printer), I would design for the screen if that's the primary presentation and let those out-of-gamut colors geet clipped in print.
Printing tints is a little trickier than you might think. Dot gain (how ink spreads as it is absorbed into paper) tends to make tints seem a little darker in print.
