What is customer  processin class..and its range...

Please help me.....
Customer  processing class be setup in the Range below.....
60-70
80-90
70-80
90-100.

Hi Skiranth,
By using customer processing classes, you can be able to group wage types in a different grouping than the standard ones. By this way, you can use VWTCL decision operation in your rules based on the processing class you maintain.
E.g. Let's say you wanna group the wage types as being company-based and personnel-based. Then you maintain processing class 90 of all company-based wage types with 1 and all personnel-based wage types with 2. Then in a rule, you can process these wage types according to this grouping as follows:
D  VWTCL 90
1 ....
2 ....

  • Restructure Customer Account Groups and Number Ranges

We already have existing customer account groups and number ranges and therefore customer accounts.
We need now to restructure Customer Account Groups incl. number Ranges and Number Range Allocation.
    Is this possible? Any advice?
Can a customer keep is old customer number and be assigned to the new customer account group, which has a different number range?
    Please adivse.
    Many thanks

    Ravi,
thanks very much for your reply. This information is very useful.
    Just one more question:
WIth which Customer Number will reallocated customer end up? the originial one or does the customer get a new number relating to the number range of its new customer account group?
    Many thanks,

  • HT204085 What is "local items"keychain and its password, how can i reset the password if i forgot the password

What is "local items"keychain and its pasword. how can i reset the password if i forget the password?

I just fixed the same problem.  Here's what to do.
Click on the finder, then scroll across to the GO on the top menu bar, but also hold down the option or alt key while you do this.
scroll down the go menu to library and highlight library.
    the library folder will open
go to the keychains folder and open it
in the keychains folder, then click and drag the blue folder that has all the letters and numbers for a title like "A2CEEE274-....."
drag this folder to the desktop
    now restart your machine
when the machine restarts, you should see the keychains folder still open with a new folder in it that looks just like the one you dragged out onto the desktop
throw the one on the desktop out in the trash
You just reset the keychain folder so the new mavericks update could recognize it correctly, by the way apple customer support mentioned the reason this was happening was due to the update, and this is the standard fix.  The apple keychain access pw should be your apple id or logon password.
    Good luck!!!

    <b>Classes</b>
Classes are templates for objects. Conversely, you can say that the type of
an object is the same as its class. A class is an abstract description of an object. You could say that it is a set of instructions for building an object. The attributes
of objects are defined by the components of the class, which describe the
    state and behavior of objects.
    <b>
    Local and Global Classes</b>
Classes in ABAP Objects can be declared either globally or locally. You define global classes and interfaces in the Class Builder (Transaction SE24) in the
ABAP Workbench. They are stored centrally in class pools in the class library
in the R/3 Repository. All of the ABAP programs in an R/3 System can access the global classes. Local classes are defined within an ABAP program. Local classes and interfaces can only be used in the program in which they are defined. When you use a class in an ABAP program, the system first searches for a local class with the specified name. If it does not find one, it then looks for a global class. Apart from the visibility question, there is no difference between using a global class and using a local class.
There is, however, a significant difference in the way that local and global classes are designed. If you are defining a local class that is only used in a single program, it is usually sufficient to define the outwardly visible components so that it fits into that program. Global classes, on the other hand, must be able to be used anywhere. This means that certain restrictions apply when you define the interface of a global class, since the system must be able to guarantee that any program using an object of a global class can recognize the data type of each interface parameter.
The following sections describe how to define local classes and interfaces in an ABAP program. For information about how to define local classes and interfaces, refer to the  Class Builder section of the ABAP Workbench Tools documentation.
    <b>Defining Local Classes</b>
Local classes consist of ABAP source code, enclosed in the ABAP statements CLASS ... ENDCLASS. A complete class definition consists of a declaration part and, if required, an implementation part. The declaration part of a class <class> is a statement block:
    CLASS <class> DEFINITION.
    ENDCLASS.
It contains the declaration for all components (attributes, methods, events) of the class. When you define local classes, the declaration part belongs to the global program data. You should therefore place it at the beginning of the program.
If you declare methods in the declaration part of a class, you must also write an implementation part for it. This consists of a further statement block:
    CLASS <class> IMPLEMENTATION.
    ENDCLASS.
The implementation part of a class contains the implementation of all methods of the class. The implementation part of a local class is a processing block. Subsequent coding that is not itself part of a processing block is therefore not accessible.
    <b>Structure of a Class</b>
<u>The following statements define the structure of a class:</u>
    A class contains components
Each component is assigned to a visibility section
    Classes implement methods
The following sections describe the structure of classes in more detail.
    <b>Class Components</b>
The components of a class make up its contents. All components are declared in the declaration part of the class. The components define the attributes of the objects in a class. When you define the class, each component is assigned to one of the three visibility sections, which define the external interface of the class. All of the components of a class are visible within the class. All components are in the same namespace. This means that all components of the class must have names that are unique within the class.
There are two kinds of components in a class - those that exist separately for each object in the class, and those that exist only once for the whole class, regardless of the number of instances. Instance-specific components are known as instance components. Components that are not instance-specific are called static components.
In ABAP Objects, classes can define the following components. Since all components that you can declare in classes can also be declared in interfaces, the following descriptions apply equally to interfaces.
    <b>Attributes</b>
Attributes are internal data fields within a class that can have any ABAP data type. The state of an object is determined by the contents of its attributes. One kind of attribute is the reference variable. Reference variables allow you to create and address objects. Reference variables can be defined in classes, allowing you to access objects from within a class.
    <b>Instance Attributes</b>
The contents of instance attributes define the instance-specific state of an object. You declare them using the DATA statement.
    <b>Static Attributes</b>
The contents of static attributes define the state of the class that is valid for all instances of the class. Static attributes exist once for each class. You declare them using the CLASS-DATA statement. They are accessible for the entire runtime of the class.
All of the objects in a class can access its static attributes. If you change a static attribute in an object, the change is visible in all other objects in the class.
    <b>Methods</b>
Methods are internal procedures in a class that define the behavior of an object. They can access all of the attributes of a class. This allows them to change the data content of an object. They also have a parameter interface, with which users can supply them with values when calling them, and receive values back from them The private attributes of a class can only be changed by methods in the same class.
The definition and parameter interface of a method is similar to that of function modules. You define a method <met> in the definition part of a class and implement it in the implementation part using the following processing block:
    METHOD <meth>.
    ENDMETHOD.
You can declare local data types and objects in methods in the same way as in other ABAP procedures (subroutines and function modules). You call methods using the CALL METHOD statement.
    <b>Instance Methods</b>
You declare instance methods using the METHODS statement. They can access all of the attributes of a class, and can trigger all of the events of the class.
    <b>Static Methods</b>
You declare static methods using the CLASS-METHODS statement. They can only access static attributes and trigger static events.
    <b>Special Methods</b>
As well as normal methods, which you call using CALL METHOD, there are two special methods called CONSTRUCTOR and CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR, which are automatically called when you create an object (CONSTRUCTOR) or when you first access the components of a class (CLASS_CONSTRUCTOR).
    <b>Events</b>
Objects or classes can use events to trigger event handler methods in other objects or classes. In a normal method call, one method can be called by any number of users. When an event is triggered, any number of event handler methods can be called. The link between the trigger and the handler is not established until runtime. In a normal method call, the calling program determines the methods that it wants to call. These methods must exist. With events, the handler determines the events to which it wants to react. There does not have to be a handler method registered for every event.
The events of a class can be triggered in the methods of the same class using the RAISE EVENT statement. You can declare a method of the same or a different class as an event handler method for the event <evt> of class <class> using the addition FOR EVENT <evt> OF <class>.
Events have a similar parameter interface to methods, but only have output parameters. These parameters are passed by the trigger (RAISE EVENT statement) to the event handler method, which receives them as input parameters.
The link between trigger and handler is established dynamically in a program using the SET HANDLER statement. The trigger and handlers can be objects or classes, depending on whether you have instance or static events and event handler methods. When an event is triggered, the corresponding event handler methods are executed in all registered handling classes.
    <b>Instance Events</b>
You declare instance events using the EVENTS statement. An instance event can only be triggered in an instance method.
    <b>Static Events</b>
You declare static events using the CLASS-EVENTS statement. All methods (instance and static methods) can trigger static events. Static events are the only type of event that can be triggered in a static method.
<u>See also Triggering and Handling Events.</u>
    <b>Types</b>
You can define your own ABAP data types within a class using the TYPES statement. Types are not instance-specific, and exist once only for all of the objects in a class.
    <b>Constants</b>
Constants are special static attributes. You set their values when you declare them, and they can then no longer be changed. You declare them using the CONSTANTS statement. Constants are not instance-specific, and exist once only for all of the objects in a class.
    <b>Visibility Sections</b>
You can divide the declaration part of a class into up to three visibility areas:
    CLASS <class> DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
      PROTECTED SECTION.
      PRIVATE SECTION.
    ENDCLASS.
These areas define the external visibility of the class components, that is, the interface between the class and its users. Each component of a class must be assigned to one of the visibility sections.
    <b>Public Section</b>
All of the components declared in the public section are accessible to all users of the class, and to the methods of the class and any classes that inherit from it. The public components of the class form the interface between the class and its users.
    <b>
    Protected Section</b>
All of the components declared in the protected section are accessible to all methods of the class and of classes that inherit from it. Protected components form a special interface between a class and its subclasses. Since inheritance is not active in Release 4.5B, the protected section currently has the same effect as the private section.
    <b>Private Section</b>
Components that you declare in the private section are only visible in the methods of the same class. The private components are not part of the external interface of the class.
    <b>Encapsulation</b>
The three visibility areas are the basis for one of the important features of object orientation - encapsulation. When you define a class, you should take great care in designing the public components, and try to declare as few public components as possible. The public components of global classes may not be changed once you have released the class.
For example, public attributes are visible externally, and form a part of the interface between an object and its users. If you want to encapsulate the state of an object fully, you cannot declare any public attributes. As well as defining the visibility of an attribute, you can also protect it from changes using the READ-ONLY addition.
    "Example  :
    CLASS C_COUNTER DEFINITION.
      PUBLIC SECTION.
        METHODS: SET_COUNTER IMPORTING VALUE(SET_VALUE) TYPE I,
                 INCREMENT_COUNTER,
                 GET_COUNTER EXPORTING VALUE(GET_VALUE) TYPE I.
      PRIVATE SECTION.
        DATA COUNT TYPE I.
    ENDCLASS.
    CLASS C_COUNTER IMPLEMENTATION.
      METHOD SET_COUNTER.
        COUNT = SET_VALUE.
      ENDMETHOD.
      METHOD INCREMENT_COUNTER.
        ADD 1 TO COUNT.
      ENDMETHOD.
      METHOD GET_COUNTER.
        GET_VALUE = COUNT.
      ENDMETHOD.
    ENDCLASS.
The class C_COUNTER contains three public methods - SET_COUNTER, INCREMENT_COUNTER, and GET_COUNTER. Each of these works with the private integer field COUNT. Two of the methods have input and output parameters. These form the data interface of the class. The field COUNT is not outwardly visible.

  • Custom object classes and access rights

    Hi,
I have added a few object classes to the NDS schema; objects
belonging to one of them should be able to authenticate against the
directory and retrieve some attributes. I managed the login part having
the class inherit from ndsLoginAttributes, but if I login as the object
itself, I can't retrieve any attributes. I can browse the entry (it's a
container), but all I get are DNs and objectclass attributes. Is there a
way to grant the object the right to retrieve its own attributes, or
some of them, through the Java LDAP interface?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I found a solution which is *almost* the right one. Basically I
deleted the class and created it again with a default ACL:
    X-NDS_ACL_TEMPLATES ( '2# subtree#[Self]#[All Attributes Rights]' )
This allows the object to do as it pleases with its own attributes. I'd
prefer it to be only able to read them, but I haven't found a syntax for
ACLs. Is there anything I can read to see how to fine tune the access
    rights templates?
    Thanks,

  • Custom MovieClip class and loadMovie

Hi, I am trying to create a custom MovieClip class with
    loadMovie, but it doesn't work.
I created a movie clip symbol and action script linked to it,
    such as:
class CustomMovieClip extends MovieClip { ... custom
    functions to define the behavior, onPress, onMouseMove, etc ... }
It works all fine until I call loadMovie on an instance,
    trying to change the shape.
As I searched, I figured loadMovie can mess you up if you do
    somthing like mc.onPress = .... but
is this the case for a custom class? Hope not.
    Any help???

Solved the issue myself. I write it here so other people can
    find it.
Basically, you can't do loadMovie directly to CustomMovieClip
    class instance.
It will mess up all the methods you have defined in the
    class.
Workaround is to do loadMovie to a variable in the class.
    Complete working example is here:
    1. Create a project MCTest.flp
    2. Prepare Movie1.swf (a simple shape)
    3. Create a Flash document MCTest.fla
    4. Create a ActionScript file CustomMovieClip.as:
    class CustomMovieClip extends MovieClip {
    function onPress() {
    trace("onPress");
    6. Create a symbol CustomMovieClipContent:
    Behavior: Movie Clip
    Draw nothing.
    5. Create a symbol CustomMovieClip:
    Behavior: Movie Clip
    Identifier: CustomMovieClip
    AS 2.0 Class: CustomMovieClip
    Export for ActionScript: Yes
    Export in first frame: Yes
Open editor and drag&drop CustomMovieClipContent, name
    it 'contents'
    6. Edit ActionScript in MCTest.fla>Scene 1>Layer
    1>1st Frame
    attachMovie("CustomMovieClip", "customMovieClip1", 0,
    {_x:100, _y:100});
    customMovieClip1.contents.loadMovie("Movie1.swf");
    7. Preview and you see two movie clips.
Click on the object, and "onPress" is printed in the output.

  • Is it possible to create a custom control class and insert its instance in a form?

I have several controls that will work togheter and in a similar way in several forms.
For example, a GroupOption with two ButtonOptions. Clicking on one button option the frame willl  became higher and a TextBox will appear; clicking on the other the TextBox will disappear and the frame will shrink again.
I need them in different size or few other propieties but the basic funcionality are the same.
I was thinking to create a Class with all the built in Controls and the relevant methods and propieties to keep my code clearer, simpler and reusable.
But I don't know if my idea viable.
After creating a simpler version of the class; I was trying to put it at work in a test form but I could not find the way to insert it.
    I've only find a Application.CreateControl with a required parameter
ControlType which ranges only over built in controls not custom one.
I'm working in VBA with Access 2007 and later.
    Thanks for your advice.

That is not really practical with Access. For example CreateControl does not work with compiled applications, which is how you should deploy them. Also the level of modularization you desire just is not available. Maybe a subform would come close to this,
but I would HATE to work on one of your apps if you build each form with a collection of subforms.
While you can and should re-use code using modules or class modules, not so much for UI elements. More advanced development environments like WPF can do this.

  • What is Exchange Virtual directory and its role?

    Hello there,
I am new to Exchange and I started reading about Exchange Virtual directories. I am struggling to understand the concept behind Virtual directories in Exchange and what is the role of this component. Can someone please shed some light and better yet supplemental
information to help me understand the concepts behind it? Let me know please. I am looking forward to any reply that would help.
    Regards,
    Lotusmail1
    Franz Garcia

    Hi,
    Thank you for your question.
Exchange virtual directory is a directory which store some necessary URL to point to correspondent web page, those URL can provide service for user by Exchange server. it include the following component:
    On Exchange CAS server:
Autodiscover: An important function of the Autodiscover service is to provide access to features for clients that are connected to your messaging environment. These features include the web-based offline address book (OAB), the Availability service, and
Unified Messaging (UM). The Autodiscover service must be deployed and configured correctly for clients to automatically connect to features.
ECP: The Exchange Control Panel is a Web application that runs on a Client Access Server providing services for the Exchange organization. This Exchange Control Panel is installed automatically when you install a Client Access server. To manage Exchange
from just about anywhere, you simply need to enter the URL path for the application in your browser’s Address field. You can then access the Exchange Control Panel. By default, the Exchange Control Panel URL is
    https://yourserver.yourdomain.com/ecp.
EWS: Exchange Web Services virtual directories support the calendar sharing and other functionality offered by Exchange Web Services. The Exchange Web services included in Exchange provide an XML messaging interface that enables you to manage Exchange store
items and access Exchange server functionality from client applications.
Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync: Exchange ActiveSync is a client protocol that lets you synchronize a mobile device with your Exchange mailbox.
OAB: An offline address book (OAB) is a copy of an address list collection that’s been downloaded so a Microsoft Outlook user can access the address book while disconnected from the server. Microsoft Exchange generates the new OAB files and then compresses
the files and places them on a local share. You can decide which address lists are made available to users who work offline, and you can also configure the method by which the address books are distributed.
OWA: By default, when you install Microsoft Exchange 2013, you enable Outlook Web App. Microsoft Outlook Web App lets users access their Exchange mailbox from almost any Web browser. The Client Access server role provides proxy and redirection services for
    Outlook Web App.
PowerShell: The Exchange Management Shell, built on Windows PowerShell technology, provides a powerful command-line interface for Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 that enables automation of administrative tasks. With the Shell, you can manage every aspect
of Exchange. You can enable new email accounts, create Send and Receive connectors, configure database properties, manage distribution groups, and more. The Shell can perform every task that can be performed by the Exchange Administration Center (EAC) plus
things that can't be done in the EAC. In fact, when you do something in the EAC, it's the Shell that's doing the work behind the scenes
    On Exchange mailbox server:
PowerShell: this is the same with front CAS server.

  • Change of Customer Payment Terms and Its Impact On Invoice

    Hi All,
i would like to know that I have few open customer invoices for a customer. Now I have changed the Credit terms from 30 days to 60 days. Of-course it will not automatically impact on the already created accounting documents. Is there a way that i can update the accounting documents with new credit term days so that the due dates can be recalculated.
    Please advise
    Many Thanks
    SAPXPT

It doesn't work that Way.... need small ABAP changes in the standard program: Just follow as given below but need to be done with ABAPer as it needs access key to change the standard programs:
    Symptom
On the new line item list (transactions FBL1N, FBL3N, FBL5N (FAGLL03 as of ERP2004)), you can carry out a mass change for certain document fields. You want to add fields to the mass change that do not exist in the SAP standard system.
    Other Terms
    FBL1N, FBL3N, FBL5N, RFITEMAP, RFITEMGL, RFITEMAR, FB02, FB03, document change, mass change, FAGLL03, FAGL_ACCOUNT_ITEMS_GL
    Reason and Prerequisites
Fields for the mass change are not contained in the SAP standard system.
    Solution
    Note:
The following solution refers to transactions FBL1N, FBL3N and FBL5N. If you want to create the changes for the line item display of the new general ledger (FAGLL03), do not make the changes in the FI_ITEMS function group (LFI_ITEMSI01). Instead, make the changes in the FAGL_ITEMS_DISPLAY function group (LFAGL_ITEMS_DISPLAYI01).
    Solution:
Carry out the enhancements described below in your system and test them thoroughly.
Note: SAP cannot guarantee that the modified mass change will work correctly even if you carry out all of the steps as described in the manual tasks.
    Preparation:
Go to the line item list, select a document and choose 'Change document' in the menu bar.
In general, all the fields that can be changed in the following screen can be changed in the mass change If you choose 'Additional data', the system displays an additional dialog box. The fields that can be changed in this dialog box can also be included in the mass change. You cannot change the CPD data of a document in a mass change.
Make sure to remember whether the system displays the field that you want to include in the mass change (from now on referred to as 'XYZ') on the main screen or in the additional dialog box. Also note that this can differ for customer accounts, vendor accounts or G/L accounts.
Enhancement of the screen for the mass change:
To manually change the screen for the mass change in the line item display, proceed as follows:
Call transaction SE80 to display the FI_ITEMS function group.
Expand the 'Screens' folder and double-click screen number '0100'.
Choose '-> Layout' (note that you must use the graphic layout editor for the following steps).
The system now displays another dialog box: 'Screen Painter: Change input/output field'. In this dialog box, choose 'Display <-> Change'. You should now be able to modify the screen.
Choose 'F6'. The system generates another dialog box: 'Screen Painter: Dict./Program fields'.
Enter *BSEG-XYZ in the command line as a table/field name and choose Enter.
The system displays a relevant table row in the large white window. Select this line and choose the pushbutton with the green checkmark in the lower left corner.
Place the cursor on a suitable position on the first 'Screen Painter: Change input/output field' and left-click. The system then displays the required selection field including the description. You can now move it to the required position on the screen.
Select the white selection field of the two new selection fields and choose 'F2'.
The system generates the additional dialog box: 'Screen Painter: Attributes'. Select the 'DICT' tab page in the 'Attributes' section and deactivate the 'foreign key check' if it is activated.
Test, save and activate the screen.
    Manual source code changes:
You have to modify the SAP standard source code as follows:
    First change:
Call transaction SE80 to display the FI_ITEMS function group.
Expand the 'Screens' folder and double-click screen number '0100'.
Select the 'Flow logic' tab. Add the row marked with "<-----INSERT LINE to the source code:
field *bseg-bvtyp module req_bvtyp on request.
field *bseg-rstgr module req_rstgr on request.
field *bseg-cession_kz module req_cession_kz on request.
field *bseg-xyz module req_xyz on request.  "<--INSERT LINE
    Second change:
Call transaction SE80 to display the FI_ITEMS function group.
Create the module req_xyz in the LFI_ITEMSI01 include:
    module req_xyz.
    fldtab-fname = 'XYZ'.
    fldtab-aenkz = 'M'.
    collect fldtab.
    endmodule.
    Third change:
Call transaction SE80 to display the FI_ITEMS function group.
In the 'SCREEN_DETAIL' subroutine, add the rows marked with " <-----INSERT LINE  if XYZ is displayed on the main screen of the document change (see above):
    when 'HBKID'.
    zusatzbild = 'X'.
    continue.
    when 'XYZ'.                        "<-----INSERT LINE
    bdcdata-fnam = 'BSEG-XYZ'.        "<-----INSERT LINE
    bdcdata-fval = s_bseg-xyz.        "<-----INSERT LINE (*)
If the XYZ field is displayed in the additional dialog box, add the following rows marked with "<-----INSERT LINE instead:
    when 'HBKID'.
    zusatzbild = 'X'.
    continue.
    when 'XYZ'.                        "<-----INSERT LINE
    zusatzbild = 'X'.                 "<-----INSERT LINE
    continue.                        "<-----INSERT LINE
    when 'HBKID'.
    bdcdata-fnam = 'BSEG-HBKID'.

  • What is happening with iCloud and its sync with mobile devices?

I have been an Apple fan for 4 years now. I currently have 4 Macs (2 @ 27" and 2 @ 21.5" models), 2 iphones (4s and 3gs) and an iPad (2). I use them all for business and personal use.
Prior to purchasing my iPhone 4s on release day in the UK I was also a fully signed up Mobileme family account user. Everything worked fine. When I purchased my iPhone 4s I switched everything from Mobileme over to iCloud. Followed all the instructions. Initially it seemed to work fine. But over the last few weeks it has all gone horribly wrong resulting in the following; amongst other problems:
    iPhone 4s
My iphone 4s will no longer sync mail, contacts and calendar effectively. Mail will sync new mail in my inbox but I cant send any mail and when I do draft a mail and send it dissappears from the outbox, sent box and inbox (i always bcc mail). The number of contacts is a fraction of the number of contacts in my contracts file on my main Mac. Calendar will not let me sync or add any new entries...let alone sync with iCal on the Mac.
    iPad 2
My iPad suffers from much of the same problems as my iPhone. When I go to settings on the iPad and go to Mail, contacts and calendar, the iPad just freezes. I then have to hard re-set to get it working again.
    iPhone 3gs
I used this before I upgraded to the 4s. It suffers with the same problems as my 4s described above.
    iCloud.com
The number of contacts on iCloud.com is fixed at 1625no; whereas my Mac has a clean set of contacts containing 1325no. When I try to delete contacts on iCloud.com it says I cant because of a server error. Mail and Calendar both seem to work fine though.
I am now left with a major business critical problem. Niether iCloud.com, my Mac or my mobile devices will sync with each other. Apple has excalated the problem and my iCloud account is currently being tested. In the meantime my Mac contacts has duplicated and increased upwards of 4,000 contacts.
This whole journey of bad expereince is driving me insane and making my love of all things Apple wain.
I have restored my mobile devices about 8-9 times each. I have restored from previous versions stored on iTunes and also set them up as new devices....which as any of you will know is a laborious process because you have to reconfigure the Apps icons each time you do this as a new device! None of my attempts have fixed the situation.
Are we or have we been used by Apple as guinea pigs to test the iCloud which, according to the communities and discussions on this site, leaves a lot to be desired. This is having a dramatic affect on my quality of life and business.
    Please help me.....
    Mark

For the most part if you just get a new webhost you can continue to run with iWeb. Since you are still running Tiger iWeb should work just fine for you. You will simply need to publish your website to a folder or with the built in FTP in iWeb. Apple has simply quit updating iWeb & there will come a day when iWeb quits working in the later OS's whatever kitty comes after Lion.

  • Custom GUI's and displays

Hi i am currently designing a game and just thinking from like when you go play games like doom 3 etc they all have their custom displays etc and its really effective, at the moment i am really stummped i have no clue where to start about that in java i have some ideas at the moment and was wondering how do the professionals do it...
I have been researching into look and feel and the demos which come wit hthe jdk but they are very simple and i dont really see the use in them that much, i had the idea of also desing my displays in flash and starting a flash animations for the menus but i just dont think that is good practice and it would mean starting a flash app then closing that to then open my game but i may be able to embed the flash in a java swing frame or somthing but yeah..
my question is how do the professionals go about creating their displays i am a good programming top in my year i dont mean to sound like one of those noobs that come on and basicaly ask you to create some class's for them with a few stupid methods..
anyways thanks :) any responses would be great

dont mean to sound like one of those noobs that come on and basicaly ask you to create some class's for them with a few stupid methods..Unfortunately you do, lol. Just kidding.
Anyways, I'd suggest you probably take your questions to the Java2D and Java3D forums, cos that is where the real game grinder action will probably take place. A good percentage of your game will have to be coded using Java2D APIs and if you are looking for Doom like graphics, then Java3D is the best place to start.
Also, about embedding flash, there are about two API I have come across lately, JFlashPlayer and another (I forget the name), but unfortunately they are all commercial. You can experiment with them though, it should be useful for something.

  • Upgrade labview project that has classes and subVi's

We have a  LabVIEW  project in LV 8.5( freated by a different developer) that has classes, and various Vi's , subVi's.
I am looking to upgrade it to LV 2014.  To be safe, I wanto to copy everthing into new classes( renamed from old ones), rename all the Vis( I hav ealready done that in Windows explorere, though not yet added them to project), and use them with renamed subVI's.
The old classes and VI's should remain in the same folder.
What is best way to do that?
    I found something here
    https://lavag.org/topic/17741-the-nightmare-that-is-renaming-a-class-and-its-folder/
but this basically suggests many methods, and then, would delete the old structure.
Also, what happens to the "controls" that show up under "private" folder?
I have never worked with LV classes, so pardon any lack of knowledge.

    4) All the subVI's that are being used and reside in different directories, will be made copy of into their own subdirectories, with the originals zipped.
That's the one you need to be careful of. If you have any shared code or re-use libraries outside of the project folder then these will get loaded and saved in LV2014. Use the 'files' tab of the project folder to see which files aren't in your project subdirectory.
Anything that is in user.lib you can copy from the 8.5 user.lib to the LV2014 user.lib folder and your project will automatically find them.
There are some useful tips here about working with LabVIEW projects and keeping all of your code in sensible locations. Anything relating to your project should be within the project subfolder and any shared code should go in the respective user.lib/vi.lib of the appropriate LabVIEW version - this does mean that you have a copy of the VI for each version of LabVIEW so you will need to be careful about making sure if you change it in one version you change it in the other. Even better still is to make your shared code into VI packages - then you can install them for any LabVIEW version and it will automatically save/compile them for the appropriate version. We used to have all of our re-use code in user.lib but it made moving between LabVIEW versions a pain so we started using VI packages and haven't looked back.
