Resolution for my issue in SharePoint 2010 farm is requiring the resetting SharePoint Cache from Cache.ini file.
Can anyone please let me know whether clearing SharePoint Cache will affect the farm ? What precautions I should take to be at safe side while performing same on production?

Just recreate your sharepoint timer job files. All these timerjob are actually stored on database but for performance, they are pulled over to SP server and executed from local server.
No impact unless and until you set the cache.ini value to 0 everytime the folder is clean.
Yes it is safe to perform this in production.
Note: Make sure time service is top, cache.ini value to 0 everytime the folder is clean, then delete file, then start the timerjob service. If you dont see the files getting created, you need to troubleshoot on your timerjobs.

Desired activity: access a site that used to not have a SSL connection through the new https:// root domain. I can accomplish the task over a machine running Windows 7 or XP but flushing the dns of my mac does not affect the outcome — I am still redirected to the hosting provider's website whenever I tried to access the domain with a https:// prefix rather than http://
I tried sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder and it's older alternative but no luck.

In the terminal:
dscacheutil -flushcache
and to get a very detailed report on the state of your DNS cache in /var/logs/system.log:
sudo killall -INFO mDNSResponder

The following article provides some useful troubleshooting that can help get your iPhone's camera working correctly.
Camera isn't functioning or has undesired image quality
If the screen shows a closed lens or black image, force quit the Camera app.
If you do not see the Camera app on the Home screen, try searching for it in Spotlight. If the camera does not show up in the search, check to make sure that Restrictions are not turned on by tappingSettings > General > Restrictions.
Ensure the camera lens is clean and free from any obstructions. Use a microfiber polishing cloth to clean the lens.
Cases can interfere with the camera and the flash. Try gently cleaning the lens with a clean dry cloth or removing the case if you see image or color-quality issues with photos.
Try turning iPhone off and then back on.
Tap to focus the camera on the subject. The image may pulse or briefly go in and out of focus as it adjusts.
Try to remain steady while focusing:
Still images: Remain steady while taking the picture. If you move too far in any direction, the camera automatically refocuses to the center.
Note: If you take a picture with iPhone turned sideways, it is automatically saved in landscape orientation.
Video: Adjust focus before you begin recording. You can also tap to readjust focus while recording. Exiting the Camera application while recording will stop recording and will save the video to the Camera Roll.
Note: Video-recording features are not available on original iPhone or iPhone 3G.
If your iPhone has a front and rear camera, try switching between them to verify if the issue persists on both.

What do I do when I want to change the sound output from my computer to my TV but I do not have the HDMI option under sound output?

I have the first generation of the silver macbook (with the black keyboard- before it went to macbook pro). I have been watching movies from my computer onto my TV via a HDMI cable. For awhile now I have been trying to get the sound from my computer to go onto my TV, but I do not have the option of HDMI on my computer. I was wondering if anyone knew why or what I do when I do not have that option. Thank you!

With the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody there is an adapter that uses the Mini DisplayPort and a USB port to combine video and audio to HDMI. It's only 2 channel stereo not 5.1 Dolby Surround.

If you connect the MacBook using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter you will probably need to use external speakers or a 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to RCA sound plugs connected to a stereo sound system if your TV doesn't have separate RCA input plugs or a 3.5mm stereo input plug for audio with the HDMI plug. The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI doesn't carry audio unless you have the Mid 2010 model 7,1 and there're no audio plugs on most TVs to work with HDMI since it's expecting audio with the HDMI.

If you really want your contact back and you did not do another iCloud backap since you deleted some of your contacts, you can do a hard reboot on both devices with iClouded contacts by holding down the home and lock buttons on each of them for 10 seconds ignoring the slide to turn off thing. Make sure you have iCloud contact services off before doing so. You can then go through the whole set up process until you get up to the backup part. You then press to restore from an iCloud backup (make sure you choose the right backup for the right phone). If you didn't make an iCloud backup before the contact incident, you will have to use your two-month-old iTunes backups. Each phone should have their contacts the way they were from your last backup. You then go into Settings>iCloud>and turn off contacts. You then can choose if you want to keep your current contacts or not. Turn this off on both phones just incase you add another iCloud device to the mix later on. Now your contact lists are no longer linked (Caution: side effect may include lack of edit button). You may now add and delete contacts as you please without it happening on your other phone.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. If you have got the serial number then you can download the trial version of the software and use your serial number to activate it. If you tell us the version number then one of the MVPS will jump in to give you the direct link to download it.
If you don't have the serial number then downloading the trial version won't be any good to you.

if you follow the proper steps then it is fine but if you miss new accounts in new domain or migrate user messed then you will be in big trouble. Big issue i.e user getting access denied, User not found, login failed etc
here are the steps.
1 - Shutdown all of the SharePoint services
2 - Migrate the servers to the new domain

Table in the Database will be changed, what is impact

Hi, I'm new to the Forum.
We have a multiple reports build in the multiple Business arias, One of the Tables in the Database will be changed. My question is what is the best way to use EUL5 to see what impact it will make. I will appreciate any advise.

When you say one of the tables in the database will be changed, do you mean columns will be added, or are some columns going away, column names changing, tablename changing or what?
If the table is just getting some new columns added, then no problem. Your existing reports will still be fine and when you perform a refresh on the business area where the folder is pointing to your table, it will just pick up the new items.
If columns are going away, then your reports will get an error if they refer to that column name via the folder. You can do a kludge to cover this for the short term. In the folder in Admin, you can add a calculation with the exact same name as the column that's going away. Then - if it's a character - put in some kind of striking phrase like 'Russ Was Here'. Then when the existing reports are run, you'll see the phrase and know you just have to delete it from the report. Once all gone from all reports - you can delete the condition from the folder.
Hopefully you can see the reliance on the Discoverer folder having to have a non-changing table. The easier thing to do for the future - is to create a database view that points to the table. Then if the table changes in ANY way (well, except from being deleted altogether with no replacement table), you can always fix the view to return proper data and as your Disco folder is pointing to the view, nothing changes.

Hi,
You can use PowerShell to reset / change that forgotten farm passphrase. Note that I said reset and not retrieve. There is currently no option to retrieve the existing farm passphrase.
    Open the SharePoint 2010 Management Shell (Start > All Programs > Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Products > SharePoint 2010 Management Shell)
    Enter this at the PowerShell prompt:
        $passphrase = ConvertTo-SecureString -asPlainText -Force
    Input the new passphrase and hit Enter
    Enter this at the PowerShell prompt:
        Set-SPPassPhrase -PassPhrase $passphrase -Confirm
    You will be asked to confirm the passphrase by re-entering it
    Re-enter the passphrase and hit Enter
    You will be asked if you are sure that you want to perform this action, type Y (for Yes) and hit Enter
    Your farm passphrase has now been reset!

My Customer is having the following problem: Always that a new Agent is add, in the first login receive the message "The ID entered is not found", as solution, he restart the Service Engine. I Verified in the same forum that the problem can be solved synchronizing directory services. My Customer would like know what is impact to do this activity. The system alread is production a many time and He don´t feel secure to do this activity in production hour.

Yeah, there's no impact from resynching or restarting the sync service (via Control Center).
