I was trying to access my cd/dvd drive and I can't . Not only isthe CD stuck and not being recognise it would not even play. Do macbook pros look their drives during travel. If so can someone tell me how to unlock this drive

As far as it not playing, have you be using DVD's from different regions? If so you may have reached the limit for changes which locks up the drive.

I got the same message using Firefox and Chrome. However, I have no problem using IE to run the same download wizzard. Please help.

If the problem is with a site that is hosted using MOVEit DMZ by Ipswitch, please notify the site owner of the issue and ask them to apply the patch that is available on the support site to resolve the issue.
This is a better resolution than downgrading your version of Java that was updated due to security issues.

I am home sharing songs from my computer (library) to another authorized computer (library), the songs will import, but once i sync the iphone (4s) to this computer the songs are shaded and will not import onto the iphone, what the heck is going on?

I am transfering songs from one computer to another using home share. Both machines are authorized in home sharing. The songs import from (my) windows computer to the other (my wifes) authorized MacBook Pro, computer just fine. Once the songs are in the library and i try to sync her Iphone (4s) to her computer the songs ar greyed out and i can't play them nor see them under iPhone after sync is complete. What the heck is going on? BTW, the songs that i have imported are either songs i burned from a CD or songs i have purchased from the iTunes store, so they should sync no problem!? Help please.

Have you enabled Automatic Downloads on all of your devices? This would download all of the books to all of your devices when you download on any device - as long as you are using the same Apple ID and iTunes account on all of your devices.
Go to Settings>Store>Automatic Downloads>Books>On. When you download a book on one iDevice, it will download to all of your iDevices. This will only work for downloads moving forward from the moment that you turn the setting on. You will have to download the previously purchased books to all of your other devices.
With iCloud, you can start reading the book on one device and then pickup where you left off on another device.

@rkaufmann87 - No I wasn't aware apple sold refurbished machines. For an extra €189 I can get the same spec as the spec I was looking at, bar a smaller hard drive off the apple site. Not sure what to do. I would be safer sticking with buying direct from apple.

SCCM 2012 Reports / SQL - what is @UserSIDs?

I am trying to create some SQL to query the SCCM database.
If I dig into the reports I see functions that are called like
fn_rbac_Package(@UserSIDs)
If I look into this function I see it defined as:

So it is not obvious to me but what is the @UserSIDs really doing?
And what should I set it to if I want use these functions from SQL Management
studio, so I can run my own queries.

Based solely on SQL that you post, you MUST be CM12. UserSIDs is not really used until you move to CM12R2. Then RBA feature is leverage to restrict what object a user can see.

BTW Speed Test High Ping

This afternoon using the BTW speed test our infinity1 speed dropped from 36/37Mbps to around 24, however testing via speedtest.net and think broadband speed test (along with several others) gave our normal speed and ping (around 30-35 ms) A short while later tests via BTW returned normal speeds but ping is still much higher using BTW than any of the other available test sites.
What could the reason be?

Well restarted my computer and ther it was, the dock was transperant and each time I open an app. they become transperant (somtimes)

Actually, I suspect you did something with TinkerTool, anyway way back when I played around with it, when it was free, I seem to remember it allowed you to make the Dock transparent. So launch it, and go to its Help section and see what you can find.

Hmmm good question! I did this recently (booted in "Clear" position) on one of my K7N420 boards (I've got 2) and it died on me, I could not get it to boot no matter what I tried, so I removed it and put it into "Storage". A couple of months later I decided to get rid of it, but I gave it one last try, after much faffing around (for quite a while) it burst into life - it actually posted!!! I was gobsmacked - as I'd lost all hope of it ever booting again.
The amazing thing is, that I was about to dump it and even on the "last try" I'd laboured for over an hour trying to get it to work. I wouldn't normally have spent this long on it, as I was convinced that it was "Dead". Just goes to show......what exactly - I don't know! BTW, I'm using the same board in my machine as I type this!
Anyway sorry I've not answered your question. I'd be interested to know the answer to that one myself - anyone???

Lack of LAB and CMYK support in Lightroom is plain dumb

There is a lack of consistency in Lightroom if it allows you to elect to edit an image in Photoshop but then it can't follow through and display either a LAB PSD or a CMYK PSD. Both these file types are widely used by Pro-photographers. Afterall there is a whole bunch of stuff that's easier to do in Lab or CMYK rather than in RGB. The lightroom development team seem to suggest that photographers shouldn't be doing anything more advanced than Lightroom can handle. Well if you look at pre-print sharpening Lightroom is still awful - LOW/MED/HIGH just doesn't cut it and isn't at anything like pro level. To get any sensible preprint sharpening you've almost gotta go to photoshop. For many images sharpening is best done on the L channel of Lab (along with a whole bunch of other adjustment layer corrections). Most people like to keep these layers and so returning a master file to RGB just isn't an option. Sure there is no further need for editing such an image in Lightroom, but as part of Lightroom's function is DAM then its fairly essential to be able to at least preview all your image files - to know where they are and what you have.
Its just no good boasting about Lightroom's ability to search through images using metadata etc if ultimately it can't find and display your -finished- image versions 'cos they just happen to be Lab or CMYK PSDs.
If Adobe Lightroom team are promoting Lightroom as a pro-photographers tool them you gotta listen to how pro-photographers work and not get lost in your own ideology based rhetoric of keeping Lightroom pure. I haven't yet found two pro-photographers with identical "pure" workflows.
Come on Adobe - we don't want to edit them - we just want to be able to preview them in Library ;-)

Have to say as a working professional who earns his keep from doing raw conversions, proof prints, cutouts etc Lightroom's lack of CMYK support is very much a pain in the a**. I'm not asking for a full set of CMYK editing tools - I've got those in Photoshop thanks very much.
What I am asking for is at least the ability to round trip files from Lightroom into Photoshop, convert to CMYK and reimport the CMYK version into the catalog alongside the RGB file from which it originated and then to allow me to open the original CMYK file back into Photoshop without any tweaks being applied by Lightroom. This would allow Lightroom to really fill the role of a DAM in our studio and allow us much simpler workflow tracking than at present. As things stand we have to save the files in separate locations from our RGB versions on our server and then catalog them using another application.
Come on Adobe please listen to your professional user base as I know I'm not alone in these requiements and the studios that I've shown Lightroom to have all ended up asking the question "What about the final CMYK versions?"
BTW I'm in full agreement with Ian on the other points and without sounding snotty to Don - who I have read many interesting and sensible posts from - maybe if you don't want to cover this ground again just walk a different direction and leave those of us who do NEED this feature to discuss the best way of implenting it. I have also sent this request to Adobe so I'm not just a moaner who sit's here doing nothing about the issues that affect me.

Please tell me any difference b/w alter index <index> rebuild or alter index <index> rebuild move.
Is there any difference that more space will be released if I move index to diffrenet tablespace and move move back to orginal tablespace.
I know that if we use move option we can move index to different tablespace,

Even if you would do lots of dml's, that's not certainly means that you need the rebuilding of the index. If your assertion is based on this that there would be some "holes" within the leaf blocks which wont be reused and would require a rebuild, it's wrong then since Oracle would take care of these things on its own. So again, what criteria, other than an OLTP db you used to conclude that you need rebuilding of indexes?
But I just wanted to know If I go for alter index rebuild or alter index rebuild move and move back the indexes, which option will be best for me mean by which option I can reclaim more space.Well, I am sorry to say but I think you really don't know very well both the commands. The commands don't differ in the space reclaim given by them but in the way they do the rebuild. Please read the documentation to know what both commands do and how? BTW, from where you picked the command alter index rebuild move since I am not sure that such command exists?

How to Map the Unit field in case of DSO and INFOCUBE

Dear Experts,
I have a issue ,Please help me to solve this
I have DSO as provider ,
And, i have to map transformations btw the Datasource and DSO.
In generic Data source, i have unit fields like BASME,MEINS (Quantity units) & STWAE (currency field)
and normal Quantity fields like KWMNG,OAUME(quantity related),OAUWE (value related).
In DSO data fields as Key figure info objects like 0Quantity (which have 0Unit as unit of measure) and some other key figures which have there respective unit of measure in info object definition.
So you Please tell me how to map the Quantity ,Amounts, unit fields to key figures that we have.
(How it will be for both DSO and Info cube is there any difference?)

And i have seen the Quantity fields and there respective unit fields are mapped directly to key figure info object
in case of Info cube . Its working fine .
If only 1:1 mapping allowed in DSO data fields key figures and there respective unit of measure characteristic.
why this difference btw DSO and Info cube can any one explain me in detail.

Sharepoint 2013 search broken after upgrade from 2013 foundation to 2013 ent.

I have tried many of the suggestions that I have found in the forums for this issue but non have worked as of yet.
I have sharepoint 2013 sp1 running on server 2012 R2 connected to SQL 2012 DB, which was upgrade from SharePoint foundation 2013. Everything is working with the exception of the search. the errors are below.
Application Server Administration job failed for service instance Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.SearchServiceInstance (1d094485-eab9-458d-a363-4b5e8704048f).
Reason: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))
Technical Support Details:

For some reason this is using the farm account which is not the account used for the search service but has full access to the sites and databases. So I'm not sure what or where it is getting an access denied error. Is there any way to find what it is trying
to access? BTW I have disabled the loopback check, verified it has correct access to %windir%\tasks and recreated the search service many times, changed application pool accounts

after you upgraded SharePoint 2013 Foundation to SharePoint Server 2013.
For troubleshooting your issue, please try adding the farm account on the Server local administrator group and see if it is related to permission issue. Then try stopping the Timer Service, clearing
the Configuration Cache and restarting the Timer Service:
