What is Reconciliation Flag in General Ledger.

What is feature of GL Reconcilation available in R12. How should we update the Reconciliation Flag automatically.

This is to allow reconciliation of accounts which should net to zero.
The configuration is to flag which account codes should net to zero and therefore be automatically reconciled if net to zero.
I have not actually used this feature as yet but i guess it means those flagged accounts do not have to be manually reconciled at month end if they net to zero and therefore
shows that there is some issue if they do not net to zero.
Hope this helps.

  • What's the Relation Between General Ledger and Customer Balances Extractors

    Hi SAP Gurus,
Anybody explain the relationship between General_Ledger, Accounts_Payable and Accounts_Receivable Data Extractors ?

    Hi,
    Relationship in what sense?
All are timestamp based delta datasources, with After image delta.
*Settings for them are controlled centrally in same BWOM tables. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/af/16533bbb15b762e10000000a114084/content.htm
*In a way AP & AR data are subset of GL data (as documents are posted to GL accounts). In simple, all Document items with Vendor or Customer linked are fetched in AP & AR.
But extractors pick the data from indexed BSIK/BSAK and BSID/BSAD tables respectively and not from BSEG table (GL Line Items).

  • What is the diff between general gl a/c, control a/c, reconciliation a/c,

    Dear All
what is the diff between general gl a/c, control a/c, reconciliation a/c & offsetting a/c.

    Hi,
Normal GL Account is the account where the accounting entries are posted. GL Accounts will be broadly of two categories like Balance Sheet Accounts (Assets & Liabilities) and Profit & Loss Accounts (Income and Expenses).
Reconciliation Accounts are used where a subsidiary ledger is maintained. For example for Customers and Vendors details are maintained in separate ledgers but the control totals are posted in the Reconciliation Account which is part of GL Accounts. Similarly reconciliation accounts are maintained for Assets and Materials also. Further, in case of Customer and Vendor accounts the number of line items will be very high, hence only the totals are updated in GL and line items will be individual ledgers. Basically reconciliation account and control account are similar.
Offsetting Account: In Financial Accounting for every debit there should be a corresponding credit. So when ever any entry posted it will normally hit two GL Accounts. When we look at one line item, we will be interested where the other side of the entry is posted. This entry is the offsetting entry.
If you find this usel, please assign points.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • General Ledger Reconciliation Detail Report shows a diiference

    Hi,
I am doing a bank reconciliation in EBS and when I take out the General Ledger reconciliation report I get a difference. My understanding is that the system tries to balance my bank statement balance at a certain date to the general ledger balance after taking into consideration all the unreconciled payments and receipts. Is this correct? If yes, then could this just be a timing issue? Is their any way of ascertaining why I am getting this difefrence?
    Thanks.

    Hi.
The difference corresponds to the amount shown in the Bank Statement Detail Report (Unreconciled).

  • What is the system variables of document number in General Ledger PLD?

    Dear all,
Would anybody kindly tell me what is the system variables of document number in General Ledger Print Layout Designer?
The default print layout use transaction number (system variables 272), however, my client wants document number to be displayed in the transaction number column.
    Regards,
    Simon Chiu

    Hi
The only list available for Supported variables is for the version 2007A and for some specific localizations like Brazil and India.
For the 2007A version the list is available in the following link:
    http://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/pld
'How To Use the PLD Variables File in Release 2007 A '
But in general the variables are for documents not for reports.
In this case I believe there's no variable and you may need to fill a requirement in the Forum for that.

  • Hi There, What is General ledger Transfer in Accounting Close Cycle (INV)

    Hi There,
What is "General ledger Transfer" in Inventory

    Hi,
You can transfer a summarized inventory/work in process activity for a given period
into the general ledger interface. Using Journal Import in Oracle General Ledger, you can then post this information to the general ledger. You can perform the general ledger transfer at any time during an open period-not just at period close. The transfer loads summary or detail accounting activity for any open period into the general ledger interface, including both inventory and work in process entries. When more than one period is open, the transfer selects transactions from the
first open period up to the entered transfer date, and passes the correct accounting date and financial information into the general ledger interface.
When transferring detail entries, the accounting date in the GL_interface table is
populated with the period end date of the accounting period. When you transfer
summary entries with two periods open, and you enter a transfer date in the second period, the transfer process assigns the period one end date for all the summarized transactions in period one, and assigns the entered transfer date for the summarized transactions in period two. Using Journal Import and Post Journals processes in Oracle General Ledger, you can then post this information to the general ledger.
Interim transfers allow you to reconcile and transfer information weekly, for
example, making the month-end period close process much simpler and faster.
Note: If time permits, run the general ledger transfer process up to the period end date before closing the period. Since you cannot reopen a closed period, running this process before period close allows you to proof the summary transactions and make adjustments to the period via new inventory transactions as necessary. This makes the month-end period close process much simpler and faster

  • General ledger / sub ledger reconciliation, without new GL:

Hi experts, hope you can help me with this quick question:
My client is currently reconciling SAP General Ledger  and Subledger balances in excel spreadsheets, for Customer and Vendors.
The reconciliation is as follows, when the postings are done on general ledger on a reconciliation account and on the correspondent sub ledger, the line items have to be checked on both to be sure that transfer has been done correctly. Currently this process if done by a Vlookup in Excel, using the reference number as join between the data extracted.
We are running ECC6.0, without the new GL, do you know if there is a standard program to make this reconciliation, I will appreciate any documentation about this topic.
    Thanks in advance.

Firstly, why would there be any difference between the total of customer/vendor sub-ledger balances and the balance on the reconciliation account(s)?  The posting to the reconciliation account is happening automatically right, when you are posting to a customer/vendor (basing on the reconciliation account assigned in the customer/vendor master)?  And system would not allow direct postings to reconciliation accounts, which eliminates the threat of reconciliation GL account going out of balance as compared to the sub-ledger accounts.
However, you can run FBL3N or FS10N for the reconciliation account(s) and match it with the total balance on all customers/vendors using transaction FBL5N/FBL1N.

  • What is general ledger corresponding accounts?

what is general ledger corresponding accounts...is there any specific reports in standard sap.

    Dear Salsa,
I guess, general ledger corresponding account means, that for a GL account, if I want to see the offsetting accounts that have hit it in the journal entry.
    Eg:
    In the entry
    Expense A/c Dr
      To Vendor account
The corresponding account for the Vendor account is the expense account and for the expense account, the corresponding account is the vendor account.
There is a standard report for the same - S_ALR_87012313
    Assign points if useful

  • Maintaining an asset without GL reconciliation flag

    Hi Folks,
My client wants to maintain Leased Capital Assets out of SAP because they want to post these assets manually due to step up reasons. For that purpose he wants to remove the reconciliation flag from GL master data for both accounts - that is leased cap asset account and accumulated depreciation for leased cap asset account.
    I have two questions;
1- We can remove automatic posting only flag form GL master data and leave these as a reconciliation accounts. Why do we need to terminate the status of these accounts as asset reconciliation accounts? As how they would maintain balance in AA ledger.
2- What could be the impact of this delinking in future?
Please also guide the right process for maintaining this account with manual postings.
    Thanks

That is because of the following reasons:
1 - I believe the leased asset functionality in AA is not able to handle the increases in lease payments that occur over the duration of a lease term. Almost all the leases for my client have at least one increase in lease payment over the lease term (called step ups).
2 - SAP records the obligation under capital lease as a long term payable to the lessor. For my client's future reporting purposes this obligation will eventually need to be disclosed as a separate line item on the balance sheet, which will require a manual adjusting entry to transfer the amount from accounts payable into a new reporting category.
3 - Client also requires that the obligation under capital lease be reduced by the portion attributed as principal in the lease calculation, SAP calculates the reduction in obligation as the total cash payment to the lessor.
4 - Client desires the calculated interest to be part of the Obligation under Capital Lease, SAP only includes this as a liability.
in the light of foregoing, client wants to calculate and track Capital Leases through excel spreadsheets and doing manual entries into SAP to record these transactions.
    Please advise

  • Outbound interfaces from oracle general ledger

    Hi,
    I have a requirement of exporting :
    • Stores transactions
    • Invoice transactions
    • Payment transactions
    • Bank reconciliation transactions
    • Goods Received Not invoiced (GRNI) Accrual transactions
Please let me know if there are any stadard interfaces or open API from oracle general ledger for exporting these transactions.
Any links/pointers in this regard would be helpful.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Parag Gurjar

    Hi,
I believe what you have heard is false, you can work with multiple periods open at the same time. But as a best practice its better if you could close the relevant month period on due dates so as to avoid transaction being entered to previous open periods...  Because the accounts will go on a mess if transaction rolls in from future periods.
    Hope this helps,

  • Document on New General Ledger Accounting

    Hi SAP Gurus,
Can anyone help by providing the following details relating to General Ledger Accounting (New):
    1. What are the advantages of New GL accounting
    2. Any Bearing on Controlling Module.  If so, what they are (like no need of Cost Element Reconciliation)
    Tnaks in advance
    B Surya

    The following are the advantages of New GL Accounting;
    1. On-line document splitting. Real time integration of CO=>FI
    2. New GL replaces the SPL (Special Purpose Ledger) to some extent and not 100%
    3. CO Reconciliation is not required due to on-line splitting
    4. Parallel Accounting
    5. Segment Reporting.
    Best Regards,

  • Intercompany Reconciliation process 003 - Sender Ledger

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to set up configuration for IC reconciliation process.  In the step define reconciliation process attributes, do I have to mention any sender ledger for ICR process 003?  I read that the sender ledger field is not mandatory for ICR process 003.  If we leave this field empty the reconciliation program will consider entries from BKPF and BSEG tables.
My current client has reconciliation system same as sender system.  There is a productive company code running on the same client of the same system.
Currently there are two ledgers defined ZA and ZB.
ZA - named as FI ledger and
ZB - named as SPL reporting ledger.
    Questions:
1./  In the ICR configuration, Do I have to mention one of  the current ledgers (ZA or ZB) in the sender ledger field in the configuration?  If so what will be the impact?
2./  Can I leave the sender ledger field blank in the configuration?  If so, what will be the impact.
I am trying to read through the documentation in SAP notes (1172591 and 863630) but I am unclear of what is needed to be configured in this field.
Any feedback will be appreciated.   Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards
    Ram

    Hello Ram,
For processes 001 and 003 you should leave the sending ledger field empty unless you want to transfer information from document splitting to ICR from the general ledger.
If you specify a sending ledger the program will try to retrieve additional details from the sender ledger specified. But this only makes sense if you are using New GL with document splitting.
    Best regards,
    Ralph
