What is the internet sharing speed of macmini

what is the internet sharing speed of macmini?

Depends on the port you are sharing. If over wireless it will be the wireless speed of the slowest wireless device on your network for the wireless band in use. That might be anywere from 54 Mb/s to 230 Mb/s - that's Mega-Bits/second.

  • What is the "Internet sharing disabled" message I have been getting the past two weeks?

I have never had this before. I disable the app but it keeps returning. I don't notice it actually affects anything, it is just annoying to get this message several times a day. I can't find any way to disable this or turn if off.

        ginalynn,
Thank you for reaching out to us. I am sorry that you have been having issues with your device recently. What it sounds like is that you have your Mobile Hotspot enabled. When you pull down your top bar do you see anything referring to that? To check you can also go to settings>data>mobile hotspot. Make sure that is turned off. If not does it say anything else when the message pops us. Please fill us in.
    Thank you,

  • The internet sharing is not working on my iPhone.

The internet sharing, from my iMac, is not working on my iPhone. It is connected at the beginning, but after a while (to be exact, 2 minutes!), the connection is lost. Can anyone helps me?
    Thanks.

Try this one, it's really worked, http://www.appletips.nl/os-x-10-7-4-fix-voor-draadloos-netwerk-problemen-imac/ . I tried last night, and it's working. But you need to translate the page.
If you haven't sent the feedback yet, try to contact them. It's maybe good for Apple's user in the future. http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

  • What's the minimum Clock Speed Requirement for GB3?

What's the minimum Clock Speed Requirement for GB3 (assuming one wishes to create and play mult. audio tracks within this current iLife app)? Is it 733mhz?
Here's what i was able to find on
    iLife ’06 requirements:
    To install iLife, you need:
    • A Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G4, G5, or Intel Core processor; 733 MHZ or faster required for iDVD
    • 256 MB of RAM; 512 MB recommended
    • Mac OS X version 10.3.9 or Mac OS X version 10.4.3 or later; Mac OS X version 10.4.4 recommended
    • iTunes 6.0.2 and QuickTime 7.0.4 (included)
    • A DVD drive for installation
    • 10 GB of disk space to install iLife '06 applications

    Thanks Christoph, TIA, and AppleGuy!
Christoph, what model are you using? You said you have even less Mhz, but your model looks like the same as mine.
TIA, I looked at the other thread (thanks for the link) any idea what other models are affected by the sound output problem?
I probably will back up first just to be safe, and won't try running them both at the same time. I was hoping though to have full functionality of the Podcasting features plus all the old music ones without slowing the machine down.

  • Rate limit the internet Bandwidth/Speed

    Hello ,
    In ASA 5510.
How I can limit the users in (VLAN 20) to use the internet with a limited Bandwidth/speed with 3 mbps upload and 5 mbps download?
In case the outside interface (Native vlan) which is connected to the ISP and have a bandwidth/speed of 30 mbps upload and 50 mbps download.
    Thanks in advanced,
    MKD

This worked well for limiting download but doesn't seem to put a limit on the upload.  Am I doing something wrong?
I was just using speedtest.net to verify my upload and download are 10 Mbps.  The test result is 9.40 Mbps down and 17.22 Mbps upload.  I've retested a few times with the same result.
If I remove the service policy I get 55-60 Mbps up and down so it seems like the upload limit is doing something.
I do get matched packets for input and output though,

  • I just got a new system for my Mac OS and the internet sharing is not working.

The "Sharing" in the System Preferences looks way different and has screen charing, scanner sharing, remote login, remote management, remote apple events, and bluetooth sharing with checks near it. I once connected to my laptop, but it said something like an IP address needed to be verified. I then put in an address and they gave me one but it's still not working. Please help! How do I connect the internet?

Your text is not clear: you wish to connect to the internet, and you cannot do that? or you want to share your internet connection, to be used by other computers, and you do not know how to do this?
The title of your thread indicates the latter (this is the meaning of share), but your text rather indicates the former situation.
In order to share net, you must first mac connected to the net up and running, but I understand you did not get to that point, right?
    Please be clear.

  • I can't connect my laptop windows to the internet sharing a network

Hi. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I set up airport express on my imac g5 so I can use our windows xp laptop to share access to the internet. I have a wireless connection for our laptop (a Belkin wireless notebook card-802.11gg). The laptop recognizes the wireless network on the imac (and confirms a wireless connection), but when I try to go online, the windows says there is no connection to the internet. My cable modem is connected to airport express. Am I missing something? Also I've set up my network using WEP access for the computers....
    Appreciate your suggestions!

My suggestion would be to ask this in the Airport forum, as it doesn't appear to have any direct relevance to using iTunes.

  • What about the internet temporary files?

Hello! I'm a quite new to Mac and I would like to know if, as I used to do with my old Windows, there is the need to do some 'spring cleaning' and deleate the internet temporary files. I can't bear the idea of collecting files but also I don't know where the settings are for the span of time the computer collects these files.
    Thank you. flpd
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi flpd welcome to Mac!
    Cookies:
In Safari go to 'preferences' and then click the tab under 'security' - you'll see that you have options for cookies. You can view them, delete individual ones or remove them all.
    Cache:
Safari stores pages in it's cache. You can clear this by clicking 'safari' and 'empty cache'. You also have 'Reset Safari' that clears the cache, passwords, history, cookie and a few more other bits. Be advised though that Safari runs slower for a while immediately after you've cleared it.
There's also a program called Onyx that is free and very useful. The hyperlink's below:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/systemdiskutilities/onyx.html
You can adjust the speed of Sarafi, run maintenance scripts and clear your user, system and kernel caches. Again, on initial boot up after emptying these caches your system will temporarily run slower until it builds up the caches again.
However the maintenance scripts are really good at keeping your system in tip top condition - just make sure that your computer is on (not asleep) as the scripts wont run.
    Hope this helps

  • What's the normal fan speed?

Hello, my fans have always been around 2000 rpm with both tiger and leopord, so I am wondering what is the normal range for fan speed when the computer is not running anything heavy.

So, I'm not crunching much at the moment; yet I have 133 F and 3906 rpm. However, that doesn't signify. It was flat on a wood table. Now, laptop; Room fan now on. That fan is the main thing. I read a great overview, will post link if I can find it, that air is like fluid dynamics: a MBP flat on a table in an air conditioned room (no fanned air movement) will run hotter than an MBP with space under, with a room fan, moving warmer air. Yah, no, really true.
Get freeware iStat Control 1.1 (1.2 soon): (http://www.islayer.com/), which will display fans' speed and temps in the menu bar, andmore, and make popcorn too, with the lavalamp thingee.
Then I use Fan Control, 1.2, freeware, and set it up a tiny bit just to be cool: " ... Do you think your MacBook (Pro) is running to hot? Give Fan Control a try then. Some MacBook (Pro) are just to hot for daylong use. Fan Control adjusts the minimum fan speed depending on the current CPU temperature. For safety, it leaves the original automatic fan speed control intact ..." Leopard Ready, yah.
    http://www.lobotomo.com/products/FanControl/index.html
Both are preference panes in System preferences, which is very elegant, imho. And yes I have Leopard still shrinkwrapped. I will take a stab at it soon. Goodbye, cruel world (nah).

  • After installing the 8.1 update the Internet Sharing won't allow any devices to stay connected for more than a few hours.

Internet sharing is turned "on" and appears to be working, but really isn't. Locking the screen, restarting, or a hard reboot helps, but it is extremely aggravating not to be able to maintain a connection for more than a few hours at a time!

Thank you so much for the info! I apologize for having asked for your device model as that is the forum you posted to. Also, I know that we've set the expectation that the device will remain connected as long as a demand for signal flows through it, but that may not be entirely the case. After a period of constant use, any device (including the Lumia 822) may require or force itself to stop.
You've mentioned that the device will freeze after a few hours usage. Is the device also connected to the charger while being used as a hotspot? If so, do you notice the device getting warmer than it normally would be?

  • How do I (re)set the Internet Sharing password?

I have Internet Sharing set up and working on my computer but I forget how to change the password! Thanks.

Marvin, To stop the pop-up, Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.
Try this cure for Security update...

    The locations are actually...

  • What's the maximum cpu speed?

My KT3V manual says that I can use 2.8GHZ CPU or higher.
    Mine is a 1.7GHz one.
What's the limit to the above "higher". I have heard that a friend of mine uses a KT3V with a 3.2 GHZ (the latest released by MSI)
Thanks for claryfing this to me

You are right Maesus. The technical sheet shows the Barton XP 3000+ as the maximum possible cpu to use on this board. Perhaps I was confused or my friend, I won't hear from him until the beginin of July when he comes back from L.A.
Anyway, I'm not an expert, just a single user. If in the future it MSI launches a CPU higher than 3.0+ for 166/333MHZ chipset, can I expect to use it with the K3TV or this Barton would be the latest?

    Hello lulait,
Check out this article named iOS: Troubleshooting Personal Hotspot found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2756
    Basic troubleshooting
Confirm that your iOS device, computer, and wireless plan all meet the system requirements for Personal Hotspot.
Verify that Personal Hotspot is enabled by tapping Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Verify the Internet connection on your iOS device by tapping Safari and loading a new webpage.
If one connection type doesn't work, try another (for example, instead of connecting using Wi-Fi, try using USB or Bluetooth).
Try disabling and reenabling Personal Hotspot from Settings > Personal Hotspot or Settings > General > Cellular > Personal Hotspot.
Install the latest version of iOS. Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
If none of the previous steps resolves your issue, restore the iPhone.
If you are still experiencing issues, continue with the following troubleshooting steps.Collapse All Sections | Expand All Sections
    Wi-Fi troubleshooting
If you encounter an issue using Personal Hotspot with other Wi-Fi devices, try the following:
    Turn Personal Hotspot off.
Verify Wi-Fi is on in Settings > Wi-Fi.
    Turn Personal Hotspot back on.
If another device is unable to join your Wi-Fi network, ensure that the user enters the Wi-Fi password correctly. If the device cannot see your Wi-Fi network, verify your device name.
Note: Windows may not properly display a device name that uses non-ASCII characters.
Verify how many devices are currently using your Personal Hotspot. Depending on your wireless carrier and, the maximum number of Wi-Fi connections may be limited to three at one time.
If the other device still cannot connect, try turning Wi-Fi off and on again on the device. Verify that your device can see other Wi-Fi networks.
Note: If you see an "Unable to Join" or timeout error when trying to connect a device using Wi-Fi, ensure that you remain on the Personal Hotspot screen until the first device connects. After a device has connected, you can leave the Personal Hotspot screen and use your phone normally. Your device will automatically stop broadcasting using Wi-Fi if you put your device to sleep or after 90 seconds elapse with no devices connected using Wi-Fi. You can start broadcasting your Wi-Fi network again by tapping Settings > Personal Hotspot.
    All the best,
    Sterling

  • What is the Internet Application Server?

According to Larry Ellison talking to CNBC, Oracle is going to unveil the "Internet Application Server" on June the 28th. Does any one know anything about it? Oracle seems to guard it as a top secret. Is it a fully J2EE compliant app server? Will is completely replace OAS? And is it too late to get to the market, having beaten by WebLogic, iPlanet, Gemstone/J, JRun, SilverStream and a bunch of others? Does it add value that nobody else can offer?

Oracle iAS is the upgrade path to OAS. This is also upgrade path for all other Oracle Middle tier products like Oracle Forms server,Reports Server.
