What Licensing is needed
I can't get my head around what licensing is needed for Project in Office 365. I have four types of users. Tell me if I'm right:
1> Project Managers. They'll need Project Pro for 365 and Project Online.
2> Project Managers w/Project Pro already installed. They'll need Project Online
3> Executives (want reports, maybe some KPI stuff). They'll need SharePoint Online
4> Team members (just entering time/status) for their work. They'll need Project Lite
Is this correct?
Bob
Hi RLCoppedge,
3> - they will need Project Online.
Everything else is correct.

As its mentioned in the UCCX 7.0 Admin guide you need a premium license to provision the email subsystem
The eMail subsystem is available if your system has a license installed for one of the following Cisco product packages: Unified IP IVR or Unified CCX Premium.

What licenses do I need to get a virtual desktop environment up and running?
I’m trying to figure out what licenses I need to get a full Windows Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) up and running with the Remote Desktop Service (RDS) roles.
I have Win.Server 2012 running Hyper-V, which has about 10 different virtual machines (VM) with either Win.7 or Win.8 installed on it. These VMs will act as virtual desktops (VD) for about 200 people to remotely access and use.
My question is, what licenses do I need to support this scenario?
So far, I’m planning to purchase a few Windows Server 2012 Standard Edition with 10 Client Access Licenses ( $1414.19 each). I’m assuming that’s 1 license for the server and 10 Client Access Licenses (CAL) for users who will access the VDs. I’m also planning
to buy about 200 RDS CALs ($149 each) for the rest of the users to access the VDs. Do I need to buy additional licenses for each VM image I create (the 10 images I mentioned earlier)? These VMs are in a pooled virtual desktop collection, so they reset themselves
when users disconnect from them. If I have personal desktop collections which give unique desktops to each user and saves their settings, will my license have to change if I have that too?
At first I thought just buying the RDS CALs will allow me to install windows where ever I want, how many times I want and all I have to worry about is paying for the client access, but do I need to pay for the OS as well? So essentially I’m doubling the
license?
A side question not really related is, if I have Windows Thin PC, (which was said to come free if I have SA with another product) and bought the Windows Server license, does that come with SA and I can install Windows Thin PC as many times as I want
on which ever desktop I have that will connect to this VDI system? The 10 server licenses are fine, but they don't help you with VDI or remote desktops. I you want to install the Remote Desktop Session Host (formerly known as Terminal Server) role on all your servers und provide remote desktops for your 200 users, 200 RDS
CALs are the right choice (per user or per device).
But if your 200 users have access to virtual desktops, you need 200 VDI licenses. It doesn't matter if you only have 10 virtual desktops if potentially all your 200 users have access to them. VDI licensing is not based on a concurrent model, so every client
that can connect to a VM needs its own license. If Windows 8 Enterprise with SA is on all your client devices, you're set because SA gives users access rights to up to 4 Win8 or Win7 VMs concurrently (local or remote). In addition
it gives them a so-called companion subscription license for personally owned, non-primary devices.
For those primary corporate devices that are without SA, you'll need to purchase a single VDA license for each device that connects to any number of your Win7 or Win8 VMs. The same applies to personally owned devices of users who don't have a primary
corporate device with SA. In other words, BYOD is supported if your primary device is under SA.
For neither VDI/SA nor VDA it does matter if users are connecting to different VM images or only one. Typically, they cannot connect to more than 4 VMs at the same time in order to stay within the licensing limits.

What license do I need to install QuickTime on educational machines?
I work as a technician and webmaster for Martin Luther College and we are looking into installing QuickTime onto our institutional machines. I am wondering what permission/licenses we need to have in order to do that along with what restrictions thre are for us. We are looking only at QuickTime playback functions for Windows XP, Vista, and 7 along with Mac OS X.
Thank you for your help!If you need only the free QuickTime Player, you probably will be fine just downloading installing it on your systems and I doubt Apple would give you any trouble. To be strictly correct, though, your college would need to fill out and submit this licensing agreement:
https://developer.apple.com/softwarelicensing/agreements/pdf/qt7sitelicense.pdf
There is no cost involved; it's strictly a formality. Mac OS X comes with QuickTime, so no additional licensing is necessary unless perhaps you want to install QuickTime Player 7 on systems with 10.6. and 10.7, in which case the above license should cover it.

What licensing do I need for this use ?
Lets say Im planning an application which does nothing but
allows the user to upload Adobe PDF documents to our server. Then
once on the server, parse the values from forms on the PDF's and
extract the data. We wont be distributing Acrobat reader or any
other Adobe product, but will provide a link where they can
download the reader.
Also, the PDF's would be created by someone with a copy of
Acrobat pro. These PDF's will need digital signature capability.
Can Acrobat reader handle signatures ?
Here are my questions:
- What licensing do I need, if any, in the above scenario,
other than that for a copy of Acrobat ?
- What are my options for capturing digitical signatures
within a PDF and will the publicly available version of Acrobat
reader allow the end user to sign the documents, provided they
install the extra requirements for handling the signatures ?This isn't the correct forum for this topic, but I may be
able to get you started...
The licensing restrictions on gathering form data from PDFs
is outlined in the EULA for Reader, I believe there is a limit of
500 copies, but I could be wrong ... you should look at the EULA to
be sure.
Beyond that, try posting to the
Acrobat
Forums or contacting a sales rep at Adobe, they may be able to
advise you further. -
License Problem .. what do I need ...
Dear all !
I have some license problems .. and want kindly ask for
advise ..
I had time fixed license which works fine ..
and then I got an update for the license ..
and merged the old and the new license with
the updateLicensefile.sh script ..
But when I start a container with > startWebLogic.sh
I got WebLogic: license has expired on Thu Sep 13 12:00:00 CEST 2001!
. and he seems not recognize the new license ..
So I tried to check which parts are missing ..
Expried is Connector, QASuite .. do I need them ?
For WebLogic, "SSL/Export, 2PC, In-memory Replication - Servlet,
In-memory Replication - EJB. EJB 1.1, EJB 2.0, JMS, Cluster,
Clustered JMS, jDrivers ..I have new licenses .. but
they are in a new license-group .. not
longer in release="6.1"
<license-group format="1.0" product="WebLogic Server" release="*">
So I'm really confused, what to do .. and
what is the missing license ?
My customer number is : DEU100683
Can anybody be so kind to help me out of this ?
The other question is, does BEA also provide normal
access to the newsgroups via nntp .. I would
prefer this .. which one is the nntp server ?
Thanks a lot !
FrankFrank,
The java weblogic.Admin LICENSES utility lists the license that the server
is using.
If you had multiple licenses and did not know which one was being picked
this utility will help you.
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61//////adminguide/cli.html#1134397
Regarding the documentation error can you paste the url where you found the
error. I will make sure I inform the person responsible for that.
Regarding the information returned by the license utility I will follow up
with Engineering to check if it would be possible to change the format
returned.
Thanks

Frank ,
Regarding the UpdateLicense-script issue, the order in which the new
license is appended should not matter. As long as the server is able
to read the information from that file.
Please refer to this url for more information on the showLicenses
utility. This utility will provide information on what license the
server is using.
http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs61/////adminguide/utils.html#1117307
Hope this information helpsDear Raj !
Thanks a lot at first ..
but :
java utils.showLicenses .. doesn't really help , because
on the workstation it brings me : java.lang.NullPointerException ..
without
any further information and without stack trace ( this should be added
of course )
I also used .. weblogic.Admin which works to show the licens
information ..
but t seems only to list the contents of the license.bea in another way
not whether any of the liences makes sense and is valid ..
Then I also tried :
java utils.writeLicense ..
not very helpful too in this case .. also list only
the contents .. something like : you have a valid license
until xxx .. of this yyy components would help
more ..
BTW .. the documentation is wrong .. the Property is : bea.home ..
not bea.system.home .. and the example on a unix console with
-Dbea.home=d:\bea60 shows two things
a) this was not updated for 6.1 ..
b) you differ not , whether you are on unix or dos .. but you should
But this is all not important .. shows only that also BEA if far away
from being perfect,
this is from a developer point of view good .. because everyone is
failing somehow
every day .. but the license problem should not occure !
I sent the problem on Thuesday to the support , to see what can be done
so far no answer !
Thanks again for your kind help and hints !

What licenses do I need for CUCM and CME
Hi Experts,
I am a newbie to Cisco IP telephony and request your guidance.
My boss has asked me to order some 7942 phones for a CUCM based site and some 7942 phones for a CME based site.
For CUCM 9, I understand that we need an enhanced user licenses on CUCM side.
For the IP phone, I see 2 part numbers and am confused.
CP-7942G - Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G
CP-7942G-CH1 - Cisco Unified IP Phone 7942G, for Channels, with one station user license
What is the station user license mentioned in the part number CP-7942G-CH1 ? Is it the same as the enhanced user licenses? Assuming i am ordering enhanced user licenses, what should I order CP-7942G or CP-7942G-CH1?
I also see a part number SW-CCM-UL-7942= ? What is this part? is it needed?
And what do I need for CME?
Is FL-CME-SRST-10 enough for the CME?
What is the part number for the phones? Is it CP-7942G or CP-7942G-CCME?
I also see another part number "SW-CCME-UL-7942="? What is it? And is it really needed?
I heard that Cisco simplified Licensing from version 9. At least it doesn't look simple to me :(
Can you please help me, Experts?
Thanks,
PeteHi without knowing your business goals, current network, etc here is some feedback.
Depending on your design, if the sites are connected via a reliable WAN you could run the branch site as SRST and not CME, this way you get a rich feature set of the centralised call manager and simplify licenses, etc.
Anyway, you need to size your CUCME (or SRST) correctly as each Cisco router hardware platform has a maximum supported handsets. If you have a SIP provider new purchased ISRs now come with 10 CUBE licenses other wise you will need something else such as a VIC for dial tone.
For instance the following is a router that comes with 25 CME
C2901-CME-SRST/K9
2901 Voice Bundle w/PVDM3-16,FL-CME-SRST-25,UC Lic,FL-CUBE10
You can add CP-7942G-CCME which is the physical phone and license for CME
Use CP-7942G= for the Call Manager Deployment as you will get UCL Enh or CUWL for the user side
If you have existing routers you will need to obtain upgrade licenses for voice/CME add DSPs if needed for conferencing, media termination, etc, CUBE or voice cards and you can add the phones.
Router handset capacities see Table 7
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/routers/2900-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/data_sheet_c78_553896.html
Hope this helps -
I have three users that each wanting a copy of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
I of course want to do this in the most administratively and financially efficient way.
What licenses do I need?
I though at first it would be one cc4t for the company and then three single licences for each user (nine in total)
My reseller is just making me more confused! The links to adobe site just made the confusion worse. :-(
Thankfully I found Wikipedia much clearer.
It looks like the three apps they want are included in cc4t so all I need is three cc4t licences and as an (un-creative) admin there is no charge for me having a "control panel"
Thanks though for trying.

There appears to be no option on the CCO configuration tools to add VSS license on 4500R+E chasiss bundles with for example dual SUP7L-E and IP Base

I have two email addresses coming into my mail at all times. Recently, I tried to activate MobileMe after it had sat unused on my hard drive. Since then, one of my email addresses does not send or receive. The window pops up telling me my password is wrong. What do I need to accomplish to fix this issue?
Hi Sonia,
While transferring Adobe from laptop to PC the licensing files got corrupt and the right way to use Adobe Applications is to install first as transferring from a different machine can give you problems.
You can try steps from this article if that helps otherwise you have to reinstall and manually delete some files , everything is mentioned.

What do I need to build a minimal Cisco videoconferencing system?
I'm trying to figure out what I need to build a videoconferencing
system.
I already have:
Main site with a Cisco 3825 w/ Adv IP 12.4, where I expect I'll have 5
- 10 users who will regularly use a videoconferencing system
Remote site with a Cisco 2811 w/ Adv IP 12.4, where I'll have 3 - 5
users
I'll be adding 5 - 6 additional remote sites with 2811s, with 3 - 5
regular users each.
Everyone will be connected across T1s and IP.
I though I could just use MeetingPlace Express, but I've just realized
that MPE is for voice and web conferencing only, and has no video
component.
So I'm trying to figure out all the bits and pieces of MeetingPlace,
and I just can't work out what I truly need. If I'm half-way on track,
a 8106 30UL IP Bundle will get me started, but I'll also have to buy a
Media Convergence Server AND a Cisco Unified Videoconferencing 3515 AND
the Video Integration software, not including any goodies like Outlook integration or sufficient web
conferencing licenses.
Is there anything else I'm missing? Or am I way off base, and MPE will
work just fine? I sure would appreciate the advise.Hi. It sounds like you've gotten further than I have. I'm lost regarding where to go from the camera. I thought Cisco had camera's and screens for a complete solution. I am lost. I believe I need a 3500 series device but how it connects to the LAN, I am very confused about. Do I need to buy a camera and microphone from another vendor?

What do I need to do to allow multiple users to connect to a Server?
Hi,
What do I need to do to allow more than two people to be able to connect to a server via RDP?
I am using Server 2012 and I need 4 clients to be able to RDP in.
The clients will only be accessing the Server from our internal network while they are onsite.
Do I have to setup Licensing and what other steps do I need to do?
ThanksHi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Yeah, agree with words of Hari. Normally by default server will allow only 2 remote connection for administrator purpose. So you want 4 users to connect you need RDS CAL to access it. As already suggested you can purchase RDS CAL (Per User or Per Device) according
to your requirement.
After installing RD License server you need to activate it first and then you can install the purchased RDS CAL.

Just starting - what do I need?
I want to setup a development/learning environment for SAP netweaver on a VMWare virtual machine.
My goal is to learn how to interface systems into SAP using Java or Dot.Net as well as to learn basic survival skills in ABAP development.
My question is what do I need to buy and or download to get an effective environment up and running quickly.
I am about to order
o 50080920 DVD NW 2004s ABAP Trial Version (English)
o 50064143 CD Mini Web AS 6.20 ABAP Engine (3)
Do I need both?
Other questions include:
What Java IDE can I use (Eclipse / Netbeans)?
Is the book ABAP Objects recommended?
Where do I find/download SP's for the MiniWAS environment? (and installation instructions)
Can I load IDES on this system?
Where can I find a mini MySAP system?Hi Carlos,
i think you can directly download simply SAP NetWeaver 2004s from
<a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6">sap NetWeaver Trial and Preview Versions</a>, MiniSap
Installations instruction are contained.
The IDE you should use is eclipse based and it is called Netweaver Developer studio, you can download it from service.sap.com (require OSS user) under SAP Software Distribution Center.
For ABAP survival skill you could skip ABAP Object. I found this link for ABAP, maybe usefull: http://www.is-edu.hcmuns.edu.vn/WebLib/Books/Database/0-672-31217-4/index.htm
I do not think SP are delivered for the MiniWAS environment.
I think that you will need a license from SAP for IDES, so I think you have to pay.
Have a look at this: <a href="http://www.idesaccess.com/">http://www.idesaccess.com/</a>
Hope it helps.
Kind Regards,
