What's the difference where you make your slideshows?

Question

Does anyone know if there is a difference if you make your slideshow in iPhoto (then export to iDVD) or if, while you're in iDVD, you make your slideshow there.? Also, rumour has it you can make slideshows in iMovie...hmmm...anyone know the differences??
p.s. is there still a limit of 99 photos per slideshow album using iPhoto or iDVD?

iPhoto > iDVD6
Exporting iPhoto slideshow to iDVD (from the Help Menu):
You can transfer an iPhoto slideshow or album, including its background music and transition effects, directly from iPhoto to iDVD to create a DVD slideshow.
To export a slideshow to iDVD:
Select a slideshow or album you want to export.
Chose Share > Send to iDVD.
Your slideshow opens in iDVD with the same name as its iPhoto name.
In iPhoto before playing a slideshow, you can specify the display duration for each slide, choose transition effects, add background music, and more.
Using slideshows created in iPhoto
You can easily create slideshows in iDVD by dragging images or albums from your iPhoto library into your iDVD project.
You can also use a slideshow created in iPhoto in your iDVD project. The slideshow is imported into iDVD as a movie, and you can't edit or change it using the iDVD slideshow features.
Using iDVD6 to create a slideshow
As an iDVD slideshow (within iDVD6)
You can use the slideshow editor to create a slideshow using your iPhoto albums or images stored in other places on your computer.
Your DVD can have up to 9,801 images in one or more slideshows, depending on the amount of other content on the DVD.
Using iMovie for a series of still images > iDVD6
You can also use iMovie to build a series of images like this:
Adding photos from your iPhoto library
You can easily add photographs from your iPhoto library to use in a movie or to create a slideshow of favorite photographs.
To add a photo from your iPhoto library:
Click the Media button, and then click Photos at the top of the Media pane.
Choose your iPhoto library or any item within your library.
Tip: You can also search for a photo by typing text in the search field. As you type, photos that contain the text you entered appear in the Photos pane. To see all photos again, click the Reset button (an "x" in the search field).
Select the photo you want to add to your movie.
In the Photo Settings window, drag the duration control to change the display duration for your photo.
If you want to pan across your photo, or zoom in or out on it, you can apply the Ken Burns Effect to it. To learn how, see "Adding motion to a photo".
To add the photo to your movie, drag it from the Images pane to the clip viewer or timeline viewer.
You can also add multiple photos to your movie at the same time by selecting more than one photo. This is useful when building a slideshow of your photos. To learn how to select multiple photos, see "Selecting clips".
After you add a photo to your movie, you can change its display duration, crop it, and add motion to it at any time.

These days it's the limitation of players, since Apple removed that DVD Forum spec.
I don't know about you, but I want a way to access a slideshow "topic," rather than wading through 1000 images to see one at 342.
Is there a way to add more than 99 photos to a chapter
If you have Toast, use Motion Pictures HD, or build in iMovie, or build in iPhoto and export as QuickTime file.
