What's the difference with the two ways of applying a memory.

1.byte [] a = new byte[32];
2.byte [] a = JCSystem.makeTransientByteArray( (short) 32 , JCSystem.CLEAR_ON_RESET);
to be more specific.thanks for your explanation.

with the "new" you store data in EEPROM, and with the transient, you store data in RAM.
data in RAM will be lost after power reset. But it remains if you store in EEPROM

  • What's the best way to apply a detuned effect to a piano (audio or midi)?

Hi, what's the best way to apply a detuned effect to a piano (audio or midi)? I was trying to add the detune effect to a piano to make it sound warmer and old fashioned, any suggestion?
    Thanks

Are you looking for a Honky Tonky Piano effect?
you need two istances of the same piano (exs24 Logic patch are great)
use fine detune (pitch) only one of the two piano istances.

  • What is the best way to free up memory easily?

what is the best way to free up memory easily? I have a fairly typical makeup of iTunes music, iMovie, iPhoto files, which is best to attack?
    Thanks

If you're talking Hard Drive space, you'll want to start just by deleting the largest of files. Try removing movies first, as they're usually in the Gigs of data, since they contain video and audio. If you're storing original photos those can be as large as 8mb/each photo, and if you've taken hundreds, they add up quickly. Try saving them as smaller sizes, or deleting unwanted photos, and lastly, songs do take up space, but depending on the quality, duration and file type will be anywhere from 30kb to 10mb.
Try removing some unneccesary applications too! Please let me know if I solved your question by using the buttons below, or reply to this thread if you need additional assistance.

  • What is the proper way to apply SCCM 2012 R2 Cumulative Updates

    Hello All!
I am looking for a little advice. Since deploying SCCM 2012 R2 I have not yet installed any of the cumulative updates. What is the proper way to install the previusely released updates? I believe there has been 3 CU relases since SCCM 2012R2. Should
I just install the most recent CU or install all of them starting with CU1? I know each one addresses different issues so I would think install all of them would make sense.
    Thanks,
    Phillip
    Phil Balderos

No, they're cumulative, so you only have to install the latest.

  • What is the smartest way to apply green screen effects in premiere elements for mac?

Videomerge looks messy and difference matte kills the foreground and difference video entirely, leaving only the background

    Mike Way Jr
What version of Premiere Elements are you using on your Mac computer?
Did you apply the Difference Matte write up that I posted? Many Premiere Elements Windows and Mac users have reported using the technique described for Green Screen.
    http://www.atr935.blogspot.com/2013/05/pe11-difference-matte-as-substitute-for.html
I have not heard of any alternative for the Premiere Elements Mac user other than go Premiere Elements Windows.
Please review and let us know the outcome.
Just not to take anything for granted, I ask "Have you reviewed your green screen prep work?"
    Thank you.

  • What is the Best way to apply granular password policy

I am trying to apply Fine Grain Password Policy in small groups to my users, I have set the password expiry to 10 days
for testing. But the moment I apply the policy, users start getting password change notifications immediately, Outlook or
Lync start asking for a new password.
Should it not wait for 5 days to start poping-up on the clients that they have 5 days left to change there passwords.
What is the best I can do not to disturb the users, I cannot do this at night because most users have mobile devices. Windows 2012

    Hi Petro,
In addition to Mihai's answer, also consider checking/changing the 'Interactive logon: Prompt user to change password before expiration' which by default is 14 days. I think there is a default notice period of 5 days but for Windows 7 or 2008 R2
servers that don't have a Group policy overriding the local policy (not domain joined). I am not sure how that applies to 2012. So if you haven't changed that to 5 days, it might be the cause of the problem.
On a PSO object I don't think you can set the password change notification.
The settings can be found in Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Interactive logon: Prompt user to change password before expiration.

  • What is the best way to apply a template to the rebranded partner site?

My partner site got severely jacked up when I was brand new to BC.
Since then I've overwritten it in Muse while attempting to "try' it as well.
Apparently does some "cleaning" meaning the template files I once had access to in the templates folder got deleted. bleh.
Is there a quick way to apply another template I own to that site such as publishing a trial site and re-pointing dns or anything that direct and smart; or is the only way to do it a manual, one by one by one of files, modules, content holders and so on?

    Hey there,
If you want to access those partner site templates, layouts and everything else, here are some FTP details you can use:
    host: maxdesigncompany.businesscatalyst.com
    username: maxdesigncompany.businesscatalyst.com/[email protected]
    password: password
Feel free to log in through FTP and download the whole site. All the modules should work since the module IDs on your site will match those on this site.
    Cheers,

  • What is the best way to apply Support Pack Stacks among satellite systems

    Hi,
We have differenst systems liek R3, SCM,CRM,XI, BW  and EP. We would like to apply teh support pack stack 12.
Which land sacpe need to be applied with the stack first?
R3 or other satellite systems? Is there any recommendation available from SAP on this?
    Thanks in advance
    Jnaneswar.P

Thanks for your reply Nick101. I see my example was oversimplified. When I say "multiple groups of contacts over multiple users" I'm really referring to N groups of contacts over N users.
So I need to add Fred, who can access and sync Bob's contacts, Sally's contacts, and Common contacts, as well as Fred's contacts. Can I do it with OS X server?
You mention you keep your and your partner's contacts administered locally. What keeps you from administering them through OS X server as well?
I am guessing this can all somehow be accomplished with multiple contact accounts, but I can't find any information on the web explicitly describing this.

  • What is the best way to free up memory?

Obviously emptying trash. But I have a couple large iMovie files -- from when I was assembling the movie, which is now complete and in a separate iTunes folder. I'm uncertain what will happen if I delete the original, which takes up a massive amount of space.

    memory or storage
memory is mostly used when one are speaking about the working memory as how much Ram the computer has this of this as the kitchen table
storage on the other hand is where data is stored think of this as the fridge
if one wish to free up memory then one look in the dock and right click on the apps with a white dot under the icon they are programs running in the background taking up memory and choosing quit in the context menu
if one wish to free storage one can uninstall big programs one does not need or delete as you say some movies or install packets in download or the likes

  • What is the best way to apply QoS to CAD

The CAD agent that are working remotely are seeing performance issues.  Hence, would it really be better to apply QOS to the CAD workers for better performance or would it just be better to give the remote workers a VMachine and have all the CAD application run locally?

    Enterprise
all the teleworkers have business class cable connection with a Cisco 800 router.  I know big companies are seeing the same issue latancy that is probably caused by convergence time) maybe from a WAN hiccup.  in reference to the VMare -Citrix, was just idea to throw out as a better solution for a more stable enviornment, but the service control messages maybe see a lag over the WAN ...its trading one evil for another...I know CIsco mobile workers are using the CVO solution...(similar to our setup)...thoughts?

  • What is the proper way to create a monotone image with real looking contrast?

Once I apply a color to my previously created black and white image everything looks washed out.
I have an artwork with 3D representation of the letterforms, casting shadows on the textured surface. Shadows are deep black. I need this artwork to be colored in gold. My client forwarded me the specs for the metallic gold which he got from the PANTONE. They are:Gold (871); Adobe 1998 RGB: 126-113-76
    HSB*: 44 degrees-40%-50%
What is the proper way of applying those values to the desired image.
My idea was to make the image black and white and than create a monotone image with the above specs. In this case the image gets washed out as the darkest black in the shadows becomes this Pantone gold. Is there any other way?

A duotone will work, however you are going to want to work closely with your printer . Most printers will want the second color in CMYK (Possibly C60 M40 Y0 K100 instead of RGB values or specify a Pantone Rich Black (I personally like 6C)but it will cost you more for the wash up of both heads of the printer...
Go to Image>Mode>Duotone (image must be greyscale first for this to work) then add the desired colors to your ink scales.

  • The best way to apply Themal Grease

In your opinions, what is the best way to apply thermal grease when using an aftermarket heat sink for CPU cooling?
Is it best to apply the grease to the heat sink (taking a chance of it smearing across the CPU) or apply directly to the CPU in the correct area and then placing the heat sink on the CPU?
I ask because I have never tried an aftermarket heat sink before and don't want to screw things up
Thanks guys for all the help

well the reason ask is because the last time i tried it on the heat sink and stuck the heat sink on the cpu, the grease gooped over to the other parts of the cpu it's not supposed to be on.  so i removed the heat sink, cleaned everything up and then applied to the cpu on the die, smoother it out and stuck the heat sink on and clamped it down.  when i removed the heat sink, it look all nice and pretty and not sloppy.
didn't know if you guys had any other ideas.  of course, i didn't know how much actually needed to be applied.  so i'm thinking i might have put too much on in the first place

  • I have two videos and I would like to use parts of both videos with one audio track what is the best way to edit this?, I have two videos and I would like to use parts of both videos with one audio track what is the best way to edit this?

In Final Cut Express I have two videos I'd like to merge parts of each video into a final film.  What is the best way to do this in FCE?

    Hi
I use a slightly different way than Alchroma.
    Same
    • One video on track 1 and the other on Video.track 2
    • Resize to 25% and move one to the left and the other to the right
    Diff
    • I don't use the blade tool
    • I use the Pen tool and change the transparency - then I get fast or slow transitions in same stroke and easy to fine-tune later if needed. (But this can be done with the Roll-tool if Blade is used - so it might be as easy)
    Final
    • Resize to 100% and Center
    Video is done
Audio - very close to this by changing the level so that best audio will dominate
    • Pen tool here too
But that's me - the Alchroma way is as good as this or may be better for some

  • What is the best way to close a communication session with the FP Server?

Looking at NI's FieldPoint Demobox.vi example, the session is closed by wiring the FP Refnum out from the FP Create Tag vi for the AI module to the FP Close vi. Is there any difference if the FP Refnum out from any or all of the other FP Create Tags were wired to FP Close vi/vi's? Could the FP Refnum out from the FP Open vi be wired to the FP Close vi? What is the best way to do this?
Also, as I'm new to FP and I'm conscious that I might swamp this forum with dumb questions, are the any sources of good FP code examples and/or discussions on coding techniques out there beyond the handful of NI's examples?
    Thanks again,
    Niel.

    Niel,
The FP Open.vi provides a FP Refnum in the form of a data cluster. The cluster contains two elements; a server refnum and a tag refnum. Coming out of the FP Open, only the server refnum has a value, the tag refnum is created when the FP Create Tag.vi is processed. Thus all FP refnums in a process have the same server refnum but different tag refnums. The FP Close.vi uses the server refnum to close the server and ignores the tag refnum so it does not matter which particular refnum was used to close the server. The thing to be careful of is if you close on refnum, you close all refnums. At this point, any reads/writes/advises will result in error 32804 (Invalid IA handle specified).
Also, please swamp this forum with questions. I am in the process of reviewin
g the documentation and examples we provide and having a beginner asking questions that do not appear to be covered in our materials gives me an idea of what we are missing. I would ask that you upgrade to FieldPoint Explorer 2.0.4 and use the online help for LabVIEW since that has had some of my modifications added to it (program flow outlines, vi descriptions & use cases).
    Regards, Aaron

  • What is the best way to work with Word documents in The InDesign CS4???

I work in Microsoft Word 2007 and all my documents have *.doc format.
What is the best way to work with Word documents in InDesign CS4???
David Blatner says to avoid copying and pasting text from Word instead of placing it (Ctrl+D).
How about pasting RTF or Text Document???
I want to make book's layout in ID CS4 and its main feature is that there is the left page with text and the right - with graphics.
So, as I understand to place the text on each page I must create for example 70 Word documents and place each item on 70 left pages???
It loks like wasting time. I sthere another way of making such layout???  What kind????

It's best to place any text.
You can have all of your text in one file and use auto-flow to add threaded text frames and pages as required (Hold down the Shift key when you click the loaded text cursor), but it's a little non-standard to have the thread only on one side of the spread from the auto-flow perspective, so you'll have to set up properly.
This is one case where a master text frame will work to your advantage. On your master page spread, add a text frame to the left page, but not to the right (or at least not threaded to one on the right -- for some other project you might actually want two independent text threads). Hold the loaded cursor over a frame on the left side of a document page and auto-flow. ID will add new spreads as necessary, but only put the text on the left side.
