What to set authorization on characteristic value

HI team I want to set a authorization on characteristic value, to be displayed in Bex report depending on user accessing that report
Say : I have one report which show data about company code. I want to set authorization on characteristic value of Company code , for eg for USER 1 - he should see ony C001 and C002, and USER2 should see C003 , C004 etc.
Please guide me in step by step approch ....
Which authorization objetc should be used.
Regards
Ashutosh D

Hi,
First step towards authorization is to make your InfoObject (Company Code) as authorization relevant in the tab Business Explorer.
Once this is done, create Analysis Authorizations in transaction RSECADMIN with the following variables.
0TCAACTVT - *( or you can give the activities to be restricted)
0TCAIPROV - *
0TCAVALID - *
0COMP_CODE - C001 & C002
Now assign the analysis auth in the role under the Auth object S_RS_AUTH.
Now assign this role for user1.
Similarly create another Analysis auth for company code C003 & C004 and assign that role to user2

  • How to set condition for Characteristic values in report

    Hi Experts,
I have a report where the service order will have 1or more part and its corresponding part status.
I want to highlight or give some indication to those service orders where all the parts status are Part Received.
The service order with different part status can be ignored.
FYI: I don't have any keyfigure in my report.
Can anyone please advice me on this.
    Thanks

    Hi Ahmed,
You cannot achieve this using this Conditions, as the condition can be defined on a characteristic but u cannot say that for a service orders all the parts status are PART RECEIVED.
For this kind of requirements, you need to add an Flag (Characteristic) and check in the Transformation if all the Part Status are PART RECEIVED for a Service Order and mark the Flag as 'X'.
In the report jst filter on the flag as 'X'. It should resolve.

  • Demand Planning - No authorization for all characteristic values selected

    Hello All,
I am trying to load the data and it is giving error "You do not have authorization for all the characteristic
values selected".  I can access the data in sandbox but not in Development. SU53 of both are same.
Also the roles are same in both the system.  /sapapo/mc77 - maintain selection assignments is also same in both the systems.
    Thank you for the help.
    Regards
    Pratap

    Hi,
This is a case of inadequate authorization for display or execution of demand planning.
I don't understand what you exactly mean by
    "su53 of both are same".
SU53 gives you a list of the authorization check that the system last executed on the ID.
Here r some suggestions. do an su53 immediately after the authorization error message is flashed.
It shall give you the authorization object which is required for that activity that you were attempting.
Also it suggested the name of role/s which have the required authorization object already present.
It is possible that you might have ALL authorizations in dev system, but the quality and production systems are usually the area where selective authorizations are to be used.
Hence the basis team might not have given you all the authorizations in the higher system where you are facing the above issue.
    Hope this helps

  • What is meant by characteristic  values

    hi
what is meant by characteristic  values
i have seen some tables like AUSP, these r for characteristic values.
can any one explain me that

    Hi,
Characteristic value variables are parameters for a query. You set these variables in the query definition, and they are filled with values when you execute the query. They act as placeholders for characteristic values, and are processed using any processing type.
In some cases, it is possible to use variables for texts, as well as for characteristic values.
If you specify a variable as a characteristic value, for example, you do not have to give a text for the characteristic value straight away. Instead, you are able to fill the text field dynamically, according to the characteristic that you used for the variable when you inserted the query into the workbook. Define a text variable with automatic replacement for this.
    Use
You need to use a variable for characteristic values, if you want to specify one or more characteristic values that you do not want to be included permanently in the query definition. A characteristic value variable is the placeholder for either a single value, an interval, or a set of selection options. With selection options, it is possible to make several restrictions, meaning that you are able to combine single values and intervals (7 and 3 to 19 and 43, for example). Characteristic value variables for intervals and selection options are available with the processing type Manual entry / Proposed value and Customer Exit.
    Thanks,
    Khushbu.

    Hello,
I installed the Oracle 10g Express Edition on my Linux box with the archive file oracle-xe_10.2.0.1-1.1_i386.deb

Then I installed the instantclient in /home/stephane/programs/oracle/instantclient_10_2 and can load it fine in my Apache PHP server.

  • Copy BOM Component Characteristic value in material PR created by MRP Run

    Dear Gurus,
My requirement is I have materials like thread to maintain color characteristic i have create class - color- class type is 023 , now i want user should able to maintain characteristic value in BOM component (thread) of semifinish material.  FG , SFG  are not having any characteristic.
Now in PR and PO we can maintain characteristic value in Material Data --->Configuration tab , Configuration tab will come only when there is tick in material is configurable at material basic data 2 view of thread and in CU41 I have to maintain material for class type 300 - Variant , then in class assignment i have select class type 300 and 023 both and maintain class , both are having same characteristic please make me correct if i am doing wrong process, if i am not maintaining class assignment 300 in CU41, in manual PO system not allowing to enter characteristic value in configuration tab . so i maintain both class assignment 300 and 023.
Now for manual PR and PO system showing configuration tab and from PO configuration tab characteristic value is coming in MIGO automatically but when i am running MRP for finish material the auto PR generated by system for material thread is not showing configuration tab in Material Data of PR. I have maintain characteristic value in BOM --->Extra--->Batch Classification. Please guide me how to archive this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Akshay.

    Akshay kukde,
Still i am unable to understand the reason for maintaining a characterstic value for a batch through BOM, I hope you are not changing BOM for every purchase order ?
can you explain what you expect by maintaing this one value for batch characterstic?
you can have many other simple option like
    1) Create a material with colour included in it ex, Thread_red, Thread _green etc and use them in BOM
    2) Use text in BOM to hold this discription for colour
    3) Use batch management, class 023 in material master classification , defalut value for colour, purchase order will be created and while doing GR you can change in colur if its different then default you set earlier.
    Akshay kukde wrote:
if i am creating PR Manually -ME51N , system showing configuration tab , where i can maintain characteristic value , which then reflecting in PO and from PO to MIGO
The above scenario I have tried by maintaining class type 023 and same characteristic in material Master. but result is same for auto generate PR by MRP- configuration tab is missing.
My requirement in this case is characteristic value should flow from BOM to PR generated by MRP.
when you manualy create PR you Thread material is consider to be a configurable material and thats why you are able to input configuration value, otherwise as soon as you put this configurable material inside a BOM of normal materila it loost its configuration feature, if you want you can create your parent material also as configurable material, assign same class to it and create configuration profile and take MRP run this time you will get PR with configuration tab as your thread get configuration derived from parent.
Hope above details may help you.
Check and reply, also mark replies helpful if it helps you.
    Thanks

  • Copy characteristic value(class 023 ) from the material master to the batch

    Dear All,
Is there a way to copy the characteristic value (class 123) from material master to the batch master automatically once we create a batch of that material
I tried to create a dependency, but didnu2019t know what to write in the dependency editor
    Please advise

I dont know if its possible in standard,  you can try and create a reference batch, and use the below user exit I found in SAP library :
Set Up Customer Exit for Determining Source Batch
You can use function module exit EXIT_SAPLV01Z_011 in SAP enhancement SAPLV1ZN when assigning characteristic values to batches. You use this to specify a reference batch when creating a new batch with the central function module VB_CREATE_BATCH.
    Further notes
The reference batch must always be specified completely. This means the reference material, source batch and reference plant details must have been entered if the batch is determined at plant level.
All batch master data is copied. If the batch is classified in this enhancement, the values assigned to the corresponding characteristics are copied.
In the exit, you can use a communication structure with the application data for the respective business transaction (for example, plant or material type). If you require further information, you must obtain it yourself in one of the user exits (such as time, user name, or date, for example).

  • Hide a row or column for characteristic value # in Query Designer

    Hi gurus,
I would if we could hide a result row / column if one of the characteristic value is #. The requirement is actually to remove the meaningless row / column from the whole result set. For example, I have a char Material Group in the column. Since not every Material is assigned to a Material Group, I will get the following layout:
    Material_Group A
    Material_Group B
    Material_Group C
Is it possible to define in query designer so that the column with # will automatically not be displayed?
    Thanks,
    Meng

    Hi Meng,
I guess we have the same users..
But there is one thing that is going to make a non sense on the report: if you do not display the "#" for material group, then the total of your query by material group will not be the summation of what is displayed on the screen...and if the user explort the information in Excel (pretty sure they will do so), you will have some calls that your query does not balance....
Based on that assumption, tell the users to assign a material group to the materials, so that this unassigned column disappears. You could even give them a control report listing all the parts that do not have a material group
If this is a standard business rule not to have a material group for all parts, then, what you could do is to change the text for empty rows for Material group, then the "#" will disappear and wil be under the text description you defined.
But keep in mind that your data is made of materials which do not have a material group in their definition, noraml or not ?

  • KE28 with" Copy Characteristic Value with Reference Data" doesn't work

    Hi experts:
We need to make a top-down setting the processing option 'Copy Characteristic Value with Reference Data'. We have the following source data:
    Customer Business Unit  Value field.
    6        #              100
On the other hand, we have plan data as reference data:
    Customer Business Unit  Value field.
           A              40
           C              40
           D              20
We need to run a top-down to distribute from client to Business Unit but copying client of reference data. Then, we set 'Copy Characteristic Value with Reference Data' and, in the selection criteria we set '*' for customer.
After running, the result is that the system can find 1 sender and 3 receivers. It is exactly what we are expecting. However, program doesn't make individual items and anything is distributed.
We have found notes 1086282 and 1273924 but the result is the same after implementing these notes.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    DETAILS :
You want to change the value assigned to a characteristic. However, the change causes inconsistency, so the new value is not allowed.
The inconsistency may be for the following reasons:
A precondition or selection condition is violated.
The characteristic is a single-value characteristic, and different values have been set by constraints, actions, or procedures.
In classification, inconsistencies occur when you change the value set of a characteristic if objects or classes have already been classified with values from the previous value set.

  • Lock characteristic value for configurable material in Sales Order

Is there a setting in SAP which can prevent user changing characteristic value for configurable material in Sales Order after production order created for this Sales Order? Currently, it can only works when first delivery create for this Sales Order.
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,,
in the characteristic goto additional data tab,
you have a field called not ready for input.
you select this when the value in this characteristic come by calculation based on the previous selection.
that field will be greyed out.
    OR
u can even select the no display check box,
by selecting this u cant see the characteristic in the list,, it will give u a popup before leaving the screen.
for this the char has to be a required field.
    OR
if any of this is not working then may be u can try out with authorization management.
    thanks

  • How to reset characteristic value in configuration

    Hello Friends,
I would kindly ask for your help about resetting a characteristic value in configuration.
In detail, the characteristic only accepts values 'Y' or 'N'.
When I start the configuration, the characteristic is blank.
A configuration function then runs and set its value to either 'Y' or 'N', based on certain conditions. That's fine.
What  I need is that, for some cases, the characteristic value should return to blank, again by means of a conf. function.
I tried already with FM CUOV_SET_FUNCTION_ARGUMENT, but it is not working, that is: the value set previously is remaining there. I also made a trial with FM CUPR_DEL_VAL, with same result.
Any help or suggestion is highly appreciated.
    Thank you so much.
    Bye,
    Flavio

Thank you Maen for your answer.
Yes, I am sure there isn't any other dependency for the value.
About the other remark, yes this might be the reason but, as the user is able to delete the value, press enter and get the blank field, there must be also a way to reset it with code.
    Thank you.
    Flavio

  • Populate Batch characteristic values in create sales order BAPI

Can anybody help me in populating the batch characteristic values using BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2?
I have checked the related notes provided by SAP, like, 567348 but it will be great if someone can send some code snippet on this.

      Subramanian, Brad and Raja.
Thanks for your suggestions its were useful, with
these i can resolve my problem.
       !!! Best Regards !!!
    Raja
I used the se37 to test bapis, is more easy and fast !!
and you can save data like variant, and you can simulate the real execution without write any code abap,
and re-process the times that you need,
when you know what fields you need you write your abap code faster.
       Thanks !!!

  • Slow dataload into Infocube- Conversion of Characteristic values to SIDs

    Hi All,
we are facing a slow delta load issue when loading from a DSO into an InfoCube ( approx 150,000 recs).
After checking the monitor found that
    - The Conversion of Characteristic values to SIDs is taking time
    - The Start Routine time is real quick ( in secs)
The underlying DSO is hugh and there is no SIDs Generation upon Activation flag set for it
Master data is loaded first and than we are loading the transaction data.
i've tried refreshing the stats of the Cube, Reduce the size of the data package,
Deletion of Indexes than Loading and recreation of Indexes, no joy at all.
Any comments and recommendations are much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Natalie

    Hi Natalie,
The problem for your slow delta load from DSO to cube is because the SIDs Generation upon Activation flag is unchecked at DSO level .
Becasue of which your activation is faster but your loading from DSO to cube will be slower as you only mentioned that SIDs are being generated .
One recommendation will be to switch on the property of the DSO SIDs Generation upon Activation flag .
Are there any secondary indexes also in DSO ?
You can try deleting them also during loading the data from DSO to cube .
I guess your change log table is also huge in this case . If possible we can think of deleting the log table also . Then for the new records let it get filled .
Hope the above reply was helpful.

  • BI-IP change characteristic value in FOX

    Hello Guys,
i want to change the characteristic value in FOX.
Therefore the FOX runs through all char combinations to identify the highest
    number for the char test.
This step works fine, but i cant write the value for maxloop in the cube.
If i try, only the old row is deleted, but i dont get a new row with the calculated value for maxloop.
    the code looks like this:
    DATA LOOP TYPE test.
    DATA MINLOOP TYPE test.
    DATA MAXLOOP TYPE test.
    MINLOOP = 00000.
    MAXLOOP = 00000.
    FOREACH LOOP.
    MINLOOP = LOOP.
    IF MINLOOP > MAXLOOP.
    MAXLOOP = MINLOOP.
    ENDIF.
    ENDFOR.
    MAXLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001.
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, 00200, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #} =
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, maxloop, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #}.
Any suggestions what is wrong here?
    Regards
    T. Mekler

    Hi,
    You have written
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, 00200, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #} =
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, maxloop, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #}.
But as per the statement  MAXLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001 the MAXLOOP conatins a new figure. Obviously there will not be any record in the cube for this value of MAXLOOP.
You are assigning this to the record with MAXLOOP = 00200, so system is assigning zero to  0AMOUNT for the record that is having MAXLOOP=00200 value.
Make the below corrections and test again:
    DATA NEWLOOP type test.
    NEWLOOP = MAXLOOP + 00001.
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, NEWLOOP, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #} =
    {Amount, EUR, #, #, MAXLOOP, 00000000, #, 2007, #, #, #, #, #, #, #}.
