So I have the Lion software system and my facetime is verision 1.1 but in the app store version 1.0.2 is available is newst? If 1.0.2 is the newest then why didnt they just name it 1.2?

The Beta version of Facetime is a free test/trial version that Apple placed on some computers in the past. It has expired -- to get a working Facetime version back you must go to the App store and purchase "Facetime for Mac" which will cost you 99 cents.

Since you have indicated that you have a Macbook Air, additional RAM cannot be installed. Installing an OSX is not a cure for operating issues and is only required if there are third party applications that will not run on prior OSXs. If you want to install Yosemite, that is your decision. Current MBA's are configured with 4GB RAM so I would believe that your MBA would be compatible.
Note that you have posted in the Macbook PRO forum, but we will not hold that against you.

You will have to buy the retail box of iWork '09 from a third-party such as Amazon.com or eBay.com. After installing & before running any of the apps, run Software Update to make sure you've got the latest version for Snow Leopard.

Office 2004 will not run under Mavericks. If you are running Entourage, you will need to verify your data first. If you upgrade and try to import and it fails, it's difficult to recover your data. Both Entourage 2008 and Office 2011 will import a good Entourage 2004 Identity. Mail requires Entourage to be open to import so you should upgrade to Mail first if you plan on using Mail. Note: Office 2011 H&S version does not contain Outlook. You have to purchase H&B to get Outlook.
While Office 2008 works there are a few quirks under Mavericks.

Office 2011 has features like Sync to Apple applications that no longer works because those features no longer exist in Mavericks.
Sync Basics
CalDAV & CardDAV are protocols used by Apple, Google, Yahoo and others to sync contacts and calendars. Neither Entourage 2008 nor Outlook 2011 support CalDAV or CardDAV.
Apple removed sync in Mavericks with iTunes.
You can no longer sync with an iPhone or iPad via iTunes. You can only sync with an iPhone or iPad via a cloud-based service like iCloud or Google.
You can no longer sync local calendars with OS X Calendar (formerly iCal). You can, however, continue to sync calendars hosted on a cloud-based service like iCloud or Google with Apple's Calendar.
You can no longer sync with any third-party apps running on your Mac that use Sync Services, like Entourage or Outlook.
If you want to stick with Outlook, I suggest you look at Office 365 if you need sync for contacts and calendars. Otherwise, moving to Apple Mail, Contacts and Calendar with iCloud might be a better option for you.
Until Microsoft adds CalDAV and CardDAV support to Outlook, there is no way to sync other than get an Exchange account. It's $4/month Exchange Online.
A new version of Office for Mac is scheuduled for release later this year or early next year. Speculation is it will be by subscription only. If you are considering purchasing Office 2011, I would check out this deal that would auto upgrade you to the newest version when it's released.

I have applied several different release levels to version 6 of FF but all the about feature tells me is Version 6.0. no version! This seems to be a change in the way updates are handled. Is that a bending because of the speed of which you're pushing out updates and new releases?

Nope, I never used Chrome, but I did try Chromium on my Windows desktop PC for a few months last year. I got tired of the Google updater. exe running all the time and Google's method of doing updates, so it's gone. I do have Chromium on my Linux EeePC since last summer, but Ubuntu handles all updates and gives the user the capability to accept or deny, any or all updates - much more to my liking, similar to the way Mozilla does it. I don't like software developers forcing to update until I am ready to proceed.
There's a lot more about this new Fast Release system, than just the lack of visible version numbers, that I don't like. The Nightly, Aurora, Beta, & Release sequence is dumb with the way it changes the version numbers. I prefer installing (for instance) what will become version 7 and have that installation progress thru the 4 stages, instead. Now it's like Nightly going from 7 to 8, Aurora going from 6 to 7, and Beta doing - hell, I won't know if it becomes a Release or if it just dies and I will have to install the Release version myself. I also dislike the UI changes in 4/5/6/7 enough that I am still using Firefox 3.6 for almost everything and Firefox 2.0.0.20 for the rest. LabVIEW seems to know. If you click on "List Unsaved Changes", it (sometimes?) tells you the version of LabVIEW that the VI is already saved under (i.e., 8.0 instead of 8.0.1). So if LabVIEW knows, maybe they've provided a way for us lower-echelon folks (i.e., customers) to know too, eh?
Is there a way to get this from, say, VI Properties (i.e., Property Node gets passed a ref to a VI & I select the right property name)? I couldn't find any property name that has "version" or anything like that, but maybe what I'm looking for is using terms that are so different than what I'm expecting that I just can't tell.
Or by some other method? (I gvimmed a few .vi files, and see some stuff that looks like I *could* get the version by parsing/searching the file itself, but parsing the binary might give pretty unreliable results.)

Just dro a proerty node on the diagram and select property: "Application...Version number" and display the resulting string output.

What version of ID3 tags does the zen xfi use?

I spend more time re-starting my player, and watching the rebuilding progress bar (only for it to fail) than I do actually listening to the **bleep** thing.
I use media monkey to manage my files, and I've set it to only write id3v2. mp3tag reports these as id3v2.3. In the belief and hope that the problem with the player is corrupt tags (which I don't think ought to cause a problem if it were built properly) I've spent hours making sure they're all tidy, cross-checking with mp3tag.
This failed to stop my player crashing several times a day. I reluctantly brought creative media centrale out of retirement to check the tags. This reported that a few of the files had bad tags, although there was nothing visibly different about them in media monkey or mp3tag. When I used the automatic 'fix tags' function in centrale, mp3tag reported that it wrote id3v tags.
So, as per the subject line, does anyone know what version of id3 tags the player actually supports?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, use Firefox, but not sure how to tell what version. I have Zone Alarm anti-virus / firewall, iolo System Mechanic, and run them both regularly. I also have a g-mail account, a folder labeled "Gmail" in Thunderbird, and basically, 100% of my Gmail messages come to my Thunderbird inbox. After Thunderbird is opened, the green "loading" circle is seen rotating, @ bottom lower left says "Downloading message", @ bottom lower right, the "progress bar" BARELY shows any green, and Thunderbird takes FOREVER to load. If I try to click on an e-mail, (most times I don't even have to do that), my screen turns a milky opaque white, and at top of page says "Thunderbird"(not responding). Usually, I have to just leave the laptop, and return in 30 minutes or so to start opening my e-mails. Sometimes, it is ready for me to begin reading e-mail, and other times, it is STILL not responding, and I must continue to wait. Using cntrl / alt /del...task manager, scroll to Thunderbird, and click "end process" does no good; restarting, OR shut down / restart also does no good.

Thanks the address you gave me gave me what I needed but still had alot of trouble with the game. Come to find out it was my browser IE8 that was causing all the problem. So I changed to google chrome and loaded the regular version of Flash player and have been able to get on the game.
