  • All Files Try to open with Photo Viewer

I was downloading some pictures and when finished ,now all files try to open with photo viewer. (ie Word,Excel,Paint, just all files lised on the menu. If someone knows how to fix this pleas reply.

    Hi ObiWanKanobe,
I recommend you check the Default Programs. Follow these steps:
    1. Click Start – input “default programs”(without quotation)
    2. Click Set your default programs.
    3. Choose Windows Photo Viewer in the left panel, then Choose defaults for this program.
    4. Make sure you don’t check other types of files, like doc and so on.
Then check if the issue persists.
    Regards,
    Miya

  • I have reset my ipad using General Reset Erase All Content and Settings. And now it will not boot. All i see on screen is the Apple logo. What do i do?

I have reset my ipad using General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. And now it will not boot. All i see on screen is the Apple logo. What do i do?

When you restore, you can restore to factory settings or to a backup. Restoring to factory settings removes everything and takes you back to out of the box status and you start all over again. Restoring from your backup will replace all of your app data, bookmarks, email settings and things like that. You still may need to sync all of your purchased apps and music, photos and so on back to the iPad.
I assume you want to restore from your backup to put all of you data back on the device so connect the iPad to your computer, launch iTunes, right click on the device name on the left side under the devices heading and select restore from backup. After you restore from your backup, make sure that you sync all of your other content with iTunes.

  • I've erased all my content and settings but back up doesnt finish the process to set it up. What can i do ?

I've erased all my content and settings but back up doesnt finish the process to set it up. What can i do ?

You have two choices. You can select another backup. I believe that your three most recent backups should be presented as choices. If for some reason you only have one backup and it will not restore, you have to restore as new.
Do you see other backups when you are at that step in the activation process?

  • HT1430 I have erased all content and settings from my iphone and when I turned it back on i can only access the emergency calls, what should i do?

I have reset my iphone and erased all content and settings. when i turned it back on i only have access to emergency numbers what should i do?
    Thanks for help.

After wiping it, you need to re-activate it. If it is carrier locked, you will need to activate it on the network it is locked to.

  • HT201274 What exactly will happened if I reset all content and settings

I upgraded this phone from someone else's old account bc I had info in their account I needed. Now I'm restricted from doing a lot of things because they're old passwords are still in the system how can I erase there're old IDs and passwords and change them to my own without losing all my contact information?

If you erase all content and settings it will wipe the phone and there will be nothing on it.  If you want to change Apple IDs:
For purchases, go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in with your ID
For iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the ID at the top, sign out, sign back in with your ID
For FaceTime, go to Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, sign back in with your ID
For iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up a new iCloud account on the phone with your Apple ID.
For mail accounts, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars, tap each account, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up your own.
That should about do it.  Note: for app updates, if there are apps on the phone that were purchased with his ID you will need to delete these from the phone and from your iTunes library (if there) in order to not be prompted for the password for his ID.  (Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them.)

  • Will "erase all content and settings" lock my unlocked phone back up?

I have an unlocked iphone and am about to sell it to a friend, but first I want to erase all of my contacts, pictures, etc... Is it best to use the "erase all content and settings" to get rid of all my personal information without locking my phone back up? Because I don't know how to unlock phones...
    Thanks

We can't discuss things involving hacked phones. Erase all may or may not relock the phone but the smart person erases all their personal information before selling an electronic device.

  • HT201274 If i erase all my contents and settings will my old apple ID go away for my ipad?  This is what I want to happen.

HOw do i get rid od my old apple ID.  I've tried all the suggestions people have offered, but they do no work.  How about me erasing all my content and settings will that get rid of my old apple ID

Yes, Settings>General>Reset> Erase all Contet and Settings

  • If I 'Erase all content and settings' on my iPod touch will it delete my music?

So yesterday my email changed so I changed my Apple ID email. I did it and typed the password in and stuff and it was fine. Then, it went really dodgy when I logged out of my old Apple ID and in to my new one. It kept popping up on my screen 'username or password for 'iCloud is incorrect' so I went to check my iCloud things and it wouldn't let me log into my new account. Also, it wouldn't receive iCloud mail that I have and it also won't back up my iPod. That's when I thought of resetting my iPod. But, because my Apple ID is dodgy I'm nervous about it deleting music. I've heard you can log out, reset then log in again but I don't know whether I'll be able to... I want to delete EVERYTHING apart from music.

As it says, Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings Erases Everything.
Y can do this to move the music to a computer.

However, just what did you do? Could you have created a new account vice change the contact email address?
I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See Changing the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs can not be renamed.  If you no longer use the .mac or .me email address be sure to add your valid email address as an additional email address.

  • What happens if a complete erase all content and settings is used

hi new to ipad what haven if a complete erase all content and settings is used.

It wipes your iPad back to the original out of the box state.  You'll have a picture of a USB cable and iTunes on the screen and the iPad will have to be set back up in iTunes as a completely new unit.  This is very effective if one is selling their iPad and wants everything wiped off the unit.........

  • If I use Erase all content and settings it will set my phone to new right?

    I have an iPhone 4s
    OS 6.1.3
I want to make sure everything is deleted, data apps etc and I want to start new again, RESTORE to new
    If I go to
Settings>General>Reset> Erase all Content and Settings
that will take my phone to a new state right?  I want it to be completely new and to start over
Also I read about people restoring the phone, But is Restore different than taking it back to out of the box status?

I Thought erase all content and settings is the only way to restore the phone to new.
SOunds like you are saying there are two ways to restore to new?
    what is the second way?
