What would be best router to buy?

I am kind of getting a cold sweat reading all these problems with the MacBook Pro. I'll be getting mine soon, the MacBook pro 17" but reading about the heat and the whine and wireless connection problems, I wonder if i should just get myself the Thinkpad 60. Anyway, what would be the best router you would recommend? lynksys? net gear? What model? I have cable modem internet service. I am a newbie to Mac, please be gentle.

(I have a 15" MBP with no problems. Most people are only on the forums to discuss problems so you won't see many happy people like me )
Anyway, I have a microsoft gasp and it works pretty good. My church uses linksys, and it was pretty hard to set up (2 hours on the phone with a tech support lady who's native language was definately NOT english), but it works great as well. We've had problems with D-Link in the past, so I'd probably suggest Linksys, or of course Apple Airport (never tried Apple's, though I'm sure they are excellent)

  • What is the best router for mugs connectivity

i am looking for best networking institute in India, for optical networking please suggest, have heard about Networkers Zone (http://networkerszone.com/) , however needs suggestion and what is the best router for mugs connectivity.

For training on the Cisco Optical I would rrecommend Fastlane http://www.fastlane.si/ they would be able to fullfill your training requirements either in India or at another location even at the Cisco Factory in Monza, they can tailor courses to your specific requirements and also do switching and routing courses too, I have know one of the instructors for over 10 years they are very good.
As far as recommending the best router, that all depends on the application, not what you mean by mugs connectivity, I know what mugs is in English but not sure if thats what you mean or if it is an acronym for something else   in any case if you post in the router section of Net-Pro with your specific requirements I'm sure someone woule be able to help/advise accordingly.

  • What's the best router ti use w/ my miniipad..having connectivity issues?

what's the best router to use w/ my mini-ipad...i'm having difficulty connecting to wifi. my old ipad connects fine

You need dual band adapters also for getting benefit of 5Ghz band(and N standard receivers to get benefit of N standard). So i think WRT350N will be next to best for your network, or you can get WRT600N and so that in future if you get adapters like WEC600N, it would work best with them.

  • What would be best approach to migrate millions of records from on premise SQL server to Azure SQL DB?

    Team,
In our project, we have a requirement of data migration. We have following scenario and I really appreciate any suggestion from you all on implementation part of it.
    Scenario:
We have millions of records to be migrated to destination SQL database after some transformation.
The source SQL server is on premise in partners domain and destination server is in Azure.
Can you please suggest what would be best approach to do so.
    thanks,
    Bishnu
    Bishnupriya Pradhan

You can use SSIS itself for this
Have a batch logic which will identify data batches within source and then include data flow tasks to do the data transfer to Azure. The batch size chosen should be as per buffer meory availability + parallel tasks executing etc.
You can use ODBC or ADO .NET connection to connect to azure.

  • What is the best router

Anybody know what is a good router to get a good sync to the exchange with.

I would have to along with Peggypurecust on this one. Certainly, on my long and aluminium-rich noise-ridden line, Netgear DG834 series routers perform very well. They are also perfect if you need to run RouterStats to gather some data.
That said, the BT BusinessHub 2-Wire 2700HGV works more consistently for me when there is a lot of interference about. Over the last year or so, I've run the 2-Wire over the winter and a Netgear DG834PN in the summer. Others swear by Billion routers, or those from other manufacturers.
Your best bet might be to borrow a few from geeky friends and see which works best for you. By and large, routers that allow telnet can be the most versatile.
More detail here, if you need it

  • What would be best for me?

So I'm heading off to college next year to become a teacher, and I'm trying to figure out what would be the best for me:
A Macbook or a Macbook Air?
Obviously, it's going to be used for school work mostly.
I want it to be a very fast computer, but still have a nice display. I don't actually care if the laptop is bulky or awkward to carry.
    Recommendations please!
    Thank You!

Get a MacBook Pro 15". Neither a MacBook nor an Air have the power, speed, quality, display of a MBP 15". They are only 2 pounds heavier than a MB. And, don't waste your time on a 13" MBP.

  • What would be best - a quiz or buttons with advanced actions?

I have just got hold of Captivate 7 and am learning how to use it. I have been given a project which I think would work well with captivate but am not sure what would be the best thing to use. On a webpage before people submit a form do do with ethics, they will need to answer a few questions to see if completing the subsequent form is the best approach or if they should actually instead go to other committees or need to see websites or other resources.
So they will get simple questions such as, e.g. 'does your research involve x?' If the answer is yes they would then need to go to a different website or access a link to a resource (say a PDF) if they answer no, they would be prompted to answer the next question and so on until either finally being prompted to submit the form or by answering yes at any time go to other websites or access resources. There would be a total of maybe eight questions.
So for something like this, would a quiz be the best approach or would show/hide buttons be best?
If a quiz is best, would I only need to create a Captivate project with one page with a series of questions or would it better with a page for each question? I have not yet created a quiz so am not sure how best to do this and how the actions actually work and what space is required on each page of the project.

It is up to you, but personally I would not use question slides for this kind of 'questions'. Reason is that you have lot of branching to do, and need a lot of control.  This is not a normal quiz. You do not need scoring, do you need to report something?
And if you choose for question slides: only one question per slide possible.

  • What is the best camcorder to buy using my MacBook Pro

I just purchased the MacBook Pro (1st time Mac owner).  I am wondering if there is a particular camcorder that would work best for making videos using iMovie.  I have purchased a Sony Handycam AVCHD and googled the reviews.  It seems people have some problems using this camcorder with the MacBook.  Any suggestions.  1.  Will the camcorder I bought be just fine or do I need to return this and purchase a different one.  I just want to record my kids activities and make home movies to send to their grandparents.  Thanks

Which is the best mouse to use with my macbook pro?
"It depends" is the correct answer.
If you love using gestures, you'll want a Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad.
If you love high precision, a trackball is often preferable to a mouse.
If you love modified mouse actions, a mouse with extra programmable buttons is a good idea.
If you love gaming, a responsive high-resolution gaming mouse is probably best.
If you love graphics/art, it is possible no mouse is best; instead you want a pressure-sensitive stylus and tablet for maximum control over painting and retouching.
No one else can tell you what the best is, unless they share your preferences exactly.

  • What would the best iPod for me be?

Ok, so I apologize if this is a little off topic or something.
    I am a 15 year old, 10th grade American.
I currently have a shuffle, which I hate.
I only have about 300 songs in my iTunes library, but I'm working pretty hard on building up my music collection.
I have 200$ that I can easily spend.
What iPod do you guys think would be best for me?
I like the new nano 4th generation--would that be good? and if so, 8GB or 16GB?
I would want this iPod to last me at least until college, but probably longer.
    What are your opinions?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
Well, since you are fifteen and wish to use this iPod until you enter college, which iPod you purchase depends on your needs.
One, since an iPod can be enabled for hard disk use to save text to, you could save files for school on it as well as music. Since the iTunes songs can be as large small as 3MB and as large as 10MB, add on video files and that takes up storage fast. I'd go for the 16GB, especially since you mentioned you'd like to add to your iTunes Library.
If you take good care of an iPod, it will take good care of you. I have a 2nd generation iPod (6rs old) and still running the original battery)... The iPod Nano 16GB holds 4,000 songs/16 hours of video and FREE shipping on orders over $50.00... sounds like a winner to me but get all the advice you can.

  • I just purchased an iPod Nano (Red) and want to connect to my truck's speakers.  There is no built-in direct port.  What is the best product to buy to make that connection?

I just purchased an iPod Nano (Red) and want to connect to my truck's speakers.  There is no built-in port to connect.  What is the best product to purchase in order to make a connection?  Thx, Robert

Your truck's audio system may not have a specialized docking port for iPods, or a USB port, but does it have a standard "auxiliary" audio input port?  It would look like headphones jack on the iPod.  If so, you can use a cable like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Monster-iCable-Player-Auxiliary-Input/dp/B002AR5XIK
to connect your iPod's output to the car's audio.
Otherwise, if your audio system is old enough to have a casette tape player, you can get a device that looks casette tape with a cable coming out of it, and play your iPod through the casette tape player.  The other way is to get a device for the iPod that sends the audio, through a low-power radio transmitter, to your car's radio (at a frequency that is normally not used by local radio).  From my experience, neither of those methods work well, in terms of maintaining full audio quality.

  • What would be best colour for ipod touch 5, What would be best colour for ipod touch 5

What colour looks best in ipod touch 5g

Yeah I went with Black/Slate because if I get a Speck case or other protective case it will look way better! The colors with white fronts are all kind of ugly. Just my opinion not saying to buy black. I am not a fan of the white front anyway.

  • What would the best process chain look like for this MD data load scenario?

    Hi there,
I have the following setup. SAP BW connection to external system via DBConnect (DB2 database).
We have 73 master data text data sources to load either once a week or everyday through process chain. We have not decided on the exact schedule yet.
All the master data text DataSources pull data from the SAME VIEW created on the DB2 external system:
    VWDEDMASTERDATA
The structure of the view is the following:
    DEDNAME
    DEDNAMETYPE
    DEDNAMECODE
    DEDNAMEDESC
    DEDNAMELONGDESC
So, everytime master data text is extracted for all the 73 objects it queries the same view over and over again VWDEDMASTERDATA. We only differentiate in the datasource on the FIELDS tab which InfoObject should DEDNAME map to and then in InfoPackage we filter on the exact object/field to query.
So essentially, every time we run InfoPackage for master data text object the external system gets queried in the following way:
SELECT * from VWDEDMASTERDATA where DEDNAME = [FIELD/InfoObject specified in InfoPackage]
So, if I have to have all 73 objects loaded, essentially the same SQL statement has to execute 73 times. In this scenario, what would be the proper process chain setup that has perfomance in mind? How should the InfoPackages be arranged, in parallel, sequentially, how many in a row, etc?
Let me know if you need more information.
    thanks

They would like to send the letters to me
Depending upon how they send the letters to you and how they expect Acrobat to convert them you could be bordering on a license violation that prohibits you from using your version of Acrobat as a server-based product.
Adobe offers server based products to convert rtf files into pdf files. Some require your company to run a server, but one seams exactly what they may want. The createpdf service is run by Adobe and seems capable of doing what your company wants.
