What would the equation be to scale a 2nd Y-axis to my first Y-axis?

I am using a 8757D scalar to collect 2 channel sweeps. The first channel has an arbitrary Scale, REF Position and REF Level, the 2nd channel has a differing Scale, REF Position and REF Level. I collect and plot channel 1data with no problem since it dictates the Y axis values. Now I want to collect the channel 2 data and Scale it to fit the channel 1 Y-Axis. Three factors are involved, Scaling of the channel 2 data, REF Position (0-8 on the screen, integers only) and REF Level (dB)
The equation i am currently using is: (Channel 2 Data) * (CH1 Scale/CH2 Scale) + (REF Level Channel 1 - REF Level Channel 2) * CH1 Scale/CH2 Scale + (CH2 REF Position - CH1 REF Position) * CH1 Scale
This works sometimes and other times it errs. I put an image of my test matrix for you to examine. I have wrestled with this for days and can't figure it out, I am posting here in the hopes that someone will see what I did wrong and help me out with it... the last row is the data from the scalar, the 2nd is my attempt to scale channel 2 data to the channel 1 Y-Axis. As you can see, it works 2 of 3 times, but when I reverse the active channel, the equation fails. Column 1 are Column 2's only difference is that I made channel 2 of the scalar analyzer the active channel...
The 1st LV Graph is when Channel 1 is active, as you can see the data plots fine, channel 2 is scaled to fit on channel 1's Y-Axis, Purple is Ch1 REF and Yellow is Ch2 REF
Next LV Graph is when Channel 2 is active, the 2 REF lines are correct, but the Channel 1 data (Green line) which should be at 0 dB (my excel spreadsheet says -30, but it should be 0, is at +10 dB and is hidden under the Yellow REF Line...
Don't understand the equation enough to see the error and after Numerous hours of staring at it, well, I have hit a dead end, so someone out there good in math, PLEASE shed some light on my error!
Thanks In advance
Jim

What Luis said: set the project to 4k or smaller .... whatever is good enough for the output you require. Editing in 5k already requires you to upscale the 4k footage.
The RED Raw settings have nothing to do with the scaling. They are meant to dial in white balance, color, saturation and other parameters.

So is this correct?  Even though I'm viewing my reel as a Proxy for Playback, is it okay that my Project Properites video size is still 5K?  Or should've that been changed to 1080p before I did any editing on this project?  Is the 5K project setting slowing me down?
Wether the 5k project is slowing you down depends on the specs of your hardware. Do you intend the output to be 1080? Then your scaling problems are over.

  • What is the equation for Time Machine required space?

Once again Time Machine says it has run out of room to do my backup. I guess I just don't understand the equation for figuring this out.
    These are my specs:
Disks being backed up - 2 drives
              Internal Drive - 640gb, 482gb in use
              External Drive - 500gb, 105gb in use
         587gb total data in use
Time Machine disk - 1TB, 715gb in use, 284gb available, asking for 303gb
TM wants space that is more than half of my total data in use. I have one (old) 2gb file, all others are 99mb and smaller, mostly much smaller.
Why isn't TM removing older backup files to make room for the latest? Why does it think it needs a block of 303gb when the new files it needs to back up are all in the sub 10mb range?
On the surface it seems like TM is using disk sizes to do it's caluclations instead of file size.
What is the equation it uses to figure this out? I am puzzled...

Starting pre-backup thinning: 286.19 GB requested (including padding), 265.05 GB available
That's your main problem; wanting to back up about 238 GB (plus 20%).  Curiously, that's a bit less than the previous messages.
See what's shown for Estimated size of full backup under the exclusions box in Time Machine Preferences > Options.  According to the figures in your first post, it should be about 587 GB.  If it's considerably larger, then there are two possibilities:
Something else is connected, and Time Machine is trying to back it up.
There's a directory problem on one of the disks being backed-up, so Time Machine thinks it's much larger.  If so, try verifying your internal HD, and repairing the external, per #A4 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
But if the estimate is reasonably close, then something very large has changed.  See #D4 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting for some of the common culprits.  Unfortunately, there's no way to tell in advance what it is;  you can only see that after a backup completes.
If nothing there helps, try excluding the external HD and trying again (per #10 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions) -- that should tell us whether the problem is on the internal or the external.  Then we can try to narrow it down.
Seems like there is a problem with the Event store UUIDs for my internal drive.
Not a major one.  That message means that Time Machine isn't sure that the previous backup was completed normally (which it obviously didn't).  When that happens, Time Machine can't use the Event store, but has to do a "deep traversal" to compare everything on the drive to the backups to figure out what's changed and needs to be backed-up.  That takes a while, of course, and means your backup will take considerably longer than usual.
I commonly have iPhoto open all the time. If TM cannot back up iPhoto while it open that would explain why it needs to backup a lot of data.
That's a possible explanation, but 238 GB is a lot of photos.  How large is your entire iPhoto Library?
Time Machine can sometimes back the iPhoto Library up when iPhoto is open -- it seems to depend on just what you've been doing.  So it's fairly unusual for it to be missed for very long.  (It ought to send a message after a certain time, but it doesn't.)
If excluding the external HD doesn't turn up a clue, try excluding your Pictures folder.

  • What is the equation for a Low-Sidelobe Window Function (in Power Spectrum VI)?

I am trying to find out what is the equation for the Low Sidelobe Window which is mentioned in the Power Spectrum VI. Hanning second sidelobe is around -32dB of the first. What is that for Low Sidelobe?

The CWT is not equivalent to the discrete dyadic wavelet transform. In theory, the CWT can compute the wavelet coefficient at any positive real scale and any real shift, while the discrete dyadic wavelet transform only includes the dyadic scales (2,4,8,16...). So the formula used to describe the CWT can be referred to the equation in pp.80 in S. Mallat's book.
In SPT's implementation, the time interval controls the shift in number of samples. The scales indicate the wavelet coefficients at integer scales 1,2,3,...,"scales" are contained in the output scalogram.

Can you get a battery replacement at an Apple store while you wait? What would the rough cost be, out of warranty?

I am not sure what device you are trying to replace the battery on, but usually the battery is at least 30% of the cost of the device from what I have read. Apple likes to keep a monopoly on batteries I think. I have never seen them replace a battery at the store, usually they have to ship it out. You can find batteries for sale online, but you will have to crack the device open yourself.

    QUESTION
I'd be very curious to know, does anyone know how to search on a section of a full folder path rather than on the individual parts of that?
    My folders are structured by LR at import, as (e.g.) 2014 / 01 / 27 for 27th Jan 2014.
So if I wanted to use a Smart Collection to search for (among other things) images in July 2013, I can search multiply on includes all of "2013" and "07" but that also throws up in my case, images which were taken on the 7th day of other months during 2013. I could search on a date range, though that's a little more laborious, or else do what I otherwise prefer, which is by keywords and other attributes plus (possibly) just year.
If I could search on folder path includes the string "2013/07" this would work fine. But I haven't found a syntax that does that (yet, assuming it is possible at all).

Of course, if you have an iPhone, you can tether the 3G data to a Wifi only iPad.  And most carriers sell Mifi (portable hotspots).  So, point number 2 may not be as important.  And quite honestly, not having a true GPS chip hasn't, at least for me, been a negative issue.
Don't forget, however, that using external MiFi hotspots is very awkward because
    - they need to be constantly powered on/off when you need to connect via them
    - when you regain true Wi-Fi access, the iPad won't disconnect from your MiFi but go on using its connection. You need to switch networks manually.
It's mostly the latter that I hated the most when using my iPad 2 with an external MiFi. (And this is why I've switched back to a 3G model when purchasing the iPad 3. No need to manual Wi-Fi network switching any more - what a relief!)

  • What would the best process chain look like for this MD data load scenario?

    Hi there,
I have the following setup. SAP BW connection to external system via DBConnect (DB2 database).
We have 73 master data text data sources to load either once a week or everyday through process chain. We have not decided on the exact schedule yet.
All the master data text DataSources pull data from the SAME VIEW created on the DB2 external system:
    VWDEDMASTERDATA
The structure of the view is the following:
    DEDNAME
    DEDNAMETYPE
    DEDNAMECODE
    DEDNAMEDESC
    DEDNAMELONGDESC
So, everytime master data text is extracted for all the 73 objects it queries the same view over and over again VWDEDMASTERDATA. We only differentiate in the datasource on the FIELDS tab which InfoObject should DEDNAME map to and then in InfoPackage we filter on the exact object/field to query.
So essentially, every time we run InfoPackage for master data text object the external system gets queried in the following way:
SELECT * from VWDEDMASTERDATA where DEDNAME = [FIELD/InfoObject specified in InfoPackage]
So, if I have to have all 73 objects loaded, essentially the same SQL statement has to execute 73 times. In this scenario, what would be the proper process chain setup that has perfomance in mind? How should the InfoPackages be arranged, in parallel, sequentially, how many in a row, etc?
Let me know if you need more information.
    thanks

Depending upon how they send the letters to you and how they expect Acrobat to convert them you could be bordering on a license violation that prohibits you from using your version of Acrobat as a server-based product.
Adobe offers server based products to convert rtf files into pdf files. Some require your company to run a server, but one seams exactly what they may want. The createpdf service is run by Adobe and seems capable of doing what your company wants.
