Whatsapp Group Chat Scroll To Bottom

Hi guys...
This might not be important to many but I just miss it so much.
When you guys have several messages on a Whatsapp group chat and open it, and try to scroll, how do you instantly scroll to bottom?
In my Mom's android phone, as soon as you scroll down, two little arrows in the bottom right corner appear and if you click they instantly scroll down.
I can't manage to see those on my iPhone (iOS 8, latest whatsapp version). The only way I found is to open group chat, put whatsapp in background (i:e: going back to iPhones menu), and going back to the group - now I am in the last message.
This is very useful when you have 100,200 messages and you just don't wanna read them.
Thank you very much!

Since you're using a 3rd party app, suggest you ask Whatsapp or look at their support site.

  • Whatsapp losing chat history

    Hi,
I have been chatting in a whatsapp group chat for several months now. But recently, in the past week, I keep on losing part of the chat history from the group but the single one-on-one chat remains intact. So here's an example: Chat from 13:00 till 17:00, when I go into the group at 15:00, the messages between 13:00 to 15:00 went missing.
What's causing this problem and how to fix it? Any idea?
    thanks!
    Dennis

Since you're using a 3rd party app to message, I would suggest contacting the app developer and see if they can resolve your issue.
I would also check the reviews/ratings to see if other users are having the same issue and look and see if there is a fix.

  • Whatsapp group notifications for BB10

    Hi all,
I have Whatsapp installed on my Blackberry Z10. I am in a few Whatsapp
groups and my phone is making noise all day with notifications from all these
groups. I need to be able to mute group notifications and keep my regular
    contact notifications going.
I know there is an option to mute the group for a week, a day, or 8 hours.
But I don't want to have to mute the group every week again and again.
I would like to be able to permanently mute a group in Whatsapp. Something
that I was able to do on my old Blackberry Bold, and I know can be done for
Iphone and Android. I think it's an important feature.
    Please advise,
    Thank you.

To mute groups chats. Go into the chat, tap the overflow menu (3 dots bottom right), tap "mute group", select time period, and you are done.

  • Defined Groups for Cisco Jabber Group Chat

I dont think it is possible based upon this document but wondering if anyone knew any secrets out there. Is it possible to create predefined groups in Jabber for Windows preferably as defined in Active Directory or on the client side? We want to have chat groups automatically created for Sales, Engineering, etc. so users dont have to add other chat recipients users manually and can reach any engineering team member without knowing who is actually part of the engineering team for example.

    Hi,
Jabber for Windows 9.7 supports Persistent Chat end user participation.
Our next Release, 10.5 will add Room Administration and Moderator features, including room creation.
    Persistent Chat Rooms
Users in your organization can use persistent chat rooms to share ideas and information in a chat room. The chat rooms look like group chats, except that the chat rooms stay active even after participants leave the room. When participants come back to the room, they can scroll back to read the messages that they missed.
Participants can manage their chat rooms by browsing the existing rooms and joining open rooms, or being added to a room by an administrator. When they are in the chat rooms, participants can create mentions for other users, which notifies the mentioned user if they are a member of the room. They can also search chat rooms for particular keywords or senders by creating filters.
Administrator tasks include creating, configuring, and deleting chat rooms, and adding or removing users from chat rooms. In this release, chat room administration and moderation must be performed with a client that supports persistent chat room administration. Cisco Jabber for Windows will provide administrative capabilities in a future release.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM and Presence Version 10 is a software prerequisite for persistent chat rooms.
For end user information about persistent chat rooms, see the chapter on Chats in the Advanced Feature Guide.
For administrator information about enabling persistent chat rooms, see the Installation and Configuration Guide and the Server Setup Guide.

I don't get any sound or vibe notification for my group chats also In my group chats if a pic is posted and then comments made on that pic I can't scroll up or down to see all comments. This is something I need to fix as we use pic with chats at work.  I can't get the info I need.  If any one could help with this problem please do. This problem has only been since I upgraded to the newest bbm messenger last week. I have the Q10. I pulled the battery and sims card but this did nothing to fix the problem. Please if anyone can help!
    Thank you all

Please make sure you are using TRUCN() in your GROUP BY expression. This function will truncate the date by removing time content.

I am in a group chat with like 7 other people who all have smartphones. 6 of the people have iPhones, but the other person has android. I'm wondering if the iMessage works for the other 6, and my text count is only being accounted for by the android user. I have a monthly limit of 1000 text so I dont want to go over my plan by being in this group if the iMessage doesnt work because of that one android user.

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

  • Essential Group Chat Features

P2P Group Chat for moderated groups IS NOT A SOLUTION !  (they lag!)
Yes, we get it you even removed abilities of message editing/deleting privileges of group MASTERS/CREATORS and for all we know they might never come back
However a few basic but very essential stuff needs to be added to new cloud-based group chats: Controlling who comes in and out.  Give admins the option to allow or disallow regular users to add new participants to the chat
Allow lists and black lists [similar to p2p ones]
Option to lock the editing of group topic and picture to admins only [similar to p2p]
Different UI layout for group chats and group picture.  Current layout [which many already hates] might be ok for small personal chats or small groups.  But in large groups they seriously need to be reconsidered.  For instance scrolling through messages in the hundreds are a huge pain, I enjoy the scroll wheel of my mouse and scroll features of trackpads on laptops everywhere you know, except on skype where I am forced to use a pre-historic scroll bar on the side to quickly scroll up and down at the pace I want to.   Another thing is people get in different groups for different purposes, but easily confuse one with the other, and say stuff in 1 chat and realise it was the wrong place.  So identifying what group you're in shouldn't be a matter of checking the topic title each time.  Perhaps replacing the "medallion" style picture to a wider banner-style picture for group chats would be an interesting identifier to what chat anyone is currently in with just a glance.
Disclaimers - Upon joining /being added to a group chat the user should be notified about him/her being in a group where certain rules may apply and/or certain people have certain administrative powers which may prevent the user from adding others or even remove the user from the group and that Skype and MS aren't liable and won't take any responsibility for stuff happening in that group chat
Oh, how about instead of just getting dragged into groups without my consent I instead get a notification of "You've been invited to join xxxx Group chat by yyyy"  and then i get to see the group info : rules, topic, banner/picture, admins list, may be even participants list, and then I make the decision whether I want to join the group or just decline it.  Will surely save many from coming back to see they got added into groups to with thousands of messages and not-so-pleasant contents or entourage
Filters - Such a basic thing of so many chats and chat system.  If group admins want to make a "clean" chat with no f word, they should have an option to set the word on a filter and whenever someone tries to post a message with that word, it either gets refused or the concerned parts gets **** censored
Also perhaps letting group admins control what's being shared in their groups, or may be even get to approve of refuse certain types of material getting shared, that too could be an interesting feature to have for groups
You know how in this PC+ era there's so many different types of devices and different Instanst Messaging & Calling apps out there and that sooooooooo many of us only bother sticking with skype cause of the 1 thing these others don't have.   Decent group chatting possibilities across all devices and OS.   So don't wait for them to snatch us away man

Yesterday we created new group, because we are facing a lot of odd issues with our current group. The new group worked well until today. It just stopped to work for few people, they can't see messages from other people and some users cannot send their message because there is the circle that it is sending the message but nothing has happened yet. Big disappointment, that MS programmers cannot create working group chat in 2015!

  • My phone won't let me use imessage in a group chat

I have an iPhone 5 and after updating to iOS 8 my group chat only is not letting me use imessage it is only letting me use text message. I've gone to settings> messages > send& receive and I see that my apple ID is in use and imessage is turned on but my cell phone number has a check mark next to it but it is grey and it wont let me click it. Please help me. In any other case it wouldn't be a big deal but my school has no service, so If I need to contact my friends in this chat I cannot. Thank you!

Can you use iMessage in this chat when you're not at school? If you're using your school's wifi, it's possible iMessage is blocked.

  • Persistent Chat (Lync Server 2013) with Lync 2010 Group Chat

I have successfully deployed Lync Server 2013 and both 2013 and 2010 desktop clients connect and function as expected.
The problem is with Persistent Chat. It works perfectly with the 2013 desktop client but - whilst 2010 Group Chat connects - I receive the error message "The [LOGON_DOMAIN] is not available". No chat rooms are available and I am unable to search.
I have been unable to locate anything on the web which discusses the problem.
I do not know whether this makes a difference but the 2010 clients use terminals rather than dedicated workstations.
Can anyone shed any light on what the problem may be?

Have you created a CsPersistentChatEndpoint to allow the Group Chat client (2010) to connect to Persistent
Chat server? Please take a look at: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204901.aspx

  • Jabber 9.2.3 Group Chat Will Not Start

We're having an issue where about half of our Jabber installs cannot start a group chat.  When you right-click and select "Start a group chat", you receive the message that you are about ready to start a chat with x number of people and to select continue.  Once you select continue, nothing further happens, whereas on the installations that function, the group chat window then launches.  Error message from logs below...
    2014-11-10 14:34:37,252 ERROR [0x0000cf50] [sets\adapters\imp\components\Log.cpp(35)] [JabberWerx] [IMPStackCap::Log::log] - [XmppSDK.dll]: #0, CXmppMUCRoom::GetGroupChatServer , no MUC_SERVICE is available, please check the configure of server, bPersistent:0
Searched online and only found a few solutions that talk about enabling multi user chat on Presence... which of course it alreay is since half our client workstations can start group chats successfully.  Tried uninstalling/reinstalling and removing the user/groups and readding with no success.
    Thoughts?

  • Group chat invitations with jabber

We've got an internal jabber server (Jive Messenger 2.2) set up with several accounts. We can connect to the server with iChat no problem and talk to each other 1-on-1. But if we try to set up a group chat (Invite to chat...), we don't get/see the invitations. Also, the jabber server is set up to let users create group chats and you can see the rooms being created in the jabber server admin tool. Is this not possible with jabber and iChat or is my setup incorrect?
    Thanks, Erik

    Hi Erik,
My Current Jabber account is showing no Active On line Buddies.
However if I go to the File Menu > New Chat the participants type chat window opens and I can drag multiple people there for a chat.
If I check the Edit menu and Chat Options the chat has a room ID as well.
I would have to test with online people to be able to tell you that your set up was wrong.
IN the case of Jabber answers, take SillyDog's, Gilbert Taylor's or Ryan Mathus' answers over mine.

  • Is there a decent and newbie-friendly group chat solution available?

The problem: we want to move away from Skype for our group chats, but can't find a satisfying alternative.
What we do right now: we use group chats a lot, for various purposes, but mainly a) discussing certain topics, or b) planning activities/inviting people over, etc. People use all kinds of different operating systems.
Currently we use Skype for that. The advantage of Skype is its ease of use: users can create group chats by simply clicking on a few names. Chats are persistent: if you go online and come back the next day, you'll still be in the chat, and you will be able to read what was discussed in the meantime. If you add somebody to a chat, they are in it immediately, without having to enter a room address, or a password, or something like that. The participants of a chat control who gets added to it, and you cannot join a chat without being invited.
The disadvantage is its closedness, which makes us depend on a single vendor's client software and their monetary interests. Plus it has been bought by Microsoft, so the future of the already lagging development of the Linux version is unclear - and users of other OSes have been generally unhappy with the recent versions. Also users can not integrate Skype into already existing multi-protocol-messengers like Pidgin, they have to run the official Skype version at all times they want to chat at.
Quite a while ago a couple of us made an attempt to move our group chats to Jabber, but the acceptance was really low - opening a chat room was a hassle, they had to be password protected to be private, invitations weren't automatic, or the invitation features of clients were buggy, and by going offline you left a chat room, meaning people had to rejoin the next time they were online, and didn't automatically get to read the conversation that was held while they had been away. IRC is out of the question too, because it lags nearly all the features mentioned above.
Now I am wondering if anybody here knows about a free, open Chat software, that makes group chat (nearly) as easy as they are in Skype.

Well, IRC does not meet quite a few of our criteria. A typical chat lifecycle might look like this:
User A decides he wants to play football the next week. He starts a chat, adds 10 contacts that he knows might be interested, and makes a suggestion for a date and time. People come online, instantly see the chat and everything that has been written, answer, etc. Others join the chat later, see what has been said, and leave. Somebody might invite a couple of others to the chat, which will be immediately added. People play football, have a bit of postgame discussion, and then either plan the next session, or the chat dies.
I just do not see how this is a workflow that we can easily achieve with IRC - at least not in a way that people will be happy with.
    - you can not automatically add people to a chat afaik
    - chat history is not persistent afaik
    - you do not necessarily want everybody to be able to just join a chat, but you also do not want to do a lot of configuration to restrict access to a chat/channel, when it might be about tonights event.
    - people do not want to type /join #birthday_present_for_xyz, they just want to be added
I don't know why, but the openmeetings demo just doesn't really work for me - I get a lot of connection errors, it's painfully slow and hangs itself.

  • Lync 2013 Group Chat not working

We have a 2010 server and when I move people over to 2013 group chat does not work. I can select the people I want to talk to, but they don't see any of the conversations. When I move the back to the 2010 it works again.
We are running office 2013, lync 2013 and exchange 2010.
    Any suggestions?

Have you installed Persistent Chat in Lync 2013? You'll need to migrate the group chat data to the Persistent Chat pool and setup a Persistent Chat Endpoint for the legacy 2010 group chat clients, see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204901.aspx

  • Is there a way to leave a group chat on Imessage?

Don't get me wrong the group chat was a wonderful addition/feature to the Imessage app. After a while of being in the chat and the messages send back and forth no longer pertain you and you get 100+ messages and every second your phone is vibrating or your ipod music or live TV app is dimming and you cannot barely enjoy the basic functions of the ipod. That's when it comes to a point it needs to end. IS THERE A WAY TO GET OUT OF A GROUP CHAT? No offense to anyone to whom this may relate to but it feels like a gang that the only way out is to be killed. If there's no way out I think everyone with this same issue or agrees with me should post below and make a petition and complain to apple to update this because it is really annoying.
