Whichever MacBook you buy, you will have it for at least three years. During that time it will give you excellent service BUT it will also be superseded by several newer models during its life.
The trouble with waiting for a newer model is that there's always an even newer model after that, and if you keep waiting you'll never buy anything.
If you need it today, and today's model will do everything you want, then buy it today.

most people will tell you to do both pram and smc resets (google) and if you still have issues, either clean install (easy) or troubleshoot (hard)

Been having problems getting ical events to merge between iphone5 and macbook. After some suggestions from the community, I discovered I have no icloud in ical system preferences, and events scheduled in ical on macbook gets deleted when syncing to my iphone5. Getting frustrated.

You probably have your iPhone set up to clear out old events. My guess is that the events that are being deleted have already occurred.
Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Sync, and make sure the events you want to keep are preserved.

The photo's in your camera roll would be in a backup, if you have one (iCloud or iTunes). If you did not keep a backup somewhere, they are gone. Sorry, but that is the way of any data - if you don't have a backup of it somewhere, there is nothing to restore it from.
All other photo's should be on your computer somewhere anyway - whereever you had them to sync to the device originally.

If you're positive you have the correct cables, and positive they work, they must be plugged into an input on the TV made for that purpose, then that input must be selected on the TV's menu.

It's ok then as my other files are just around 241 MBs, I was worried as it didn't went down to zero as it was when I first held the phone, thought it might have taken up some malware or something as also the space kept on increasing one or two MB in every 15 minutes while connected to the net(I guess even this is ok!?)...
But it's still much much less than u said what might be problematic...

I ordered it CTO - configured to order which means they had to swap out the 512MB or RAM and replace it with 2G-Ram then replace the 60G internal hard drive with a 120G hard drive, package up the addons: a dialup modem USB modem cable and DVI to VGA, DVI to DVI cables. I ordered it at 7:39am on May 16th and the promised delivery date was June 2nd. It's not even June yet! I did not order quick or overnight shipping - just regular Apple free FedEx shipping from China. Apple was fast!

I have a gmail account set up on my mac. A few days ago I sent an email with photos in it and this email now is continuosly being recovered. In the meantime my inbox has stopped downloading new messages, even when i press Get New Mail. How can I stop the repeated recovery of the email and how can I get my inbox to download again?

OK, I persevered and used the Rebuild mailbox option on Mail, actually had to do it twice, but now when I boot up and Mail opens all the previously received iCloud messages I've read on iPhone/iPad are pushed through.
Back to normal...

Okay, I had not finished the update on my device when I first answered your question. I just now got a chance to get back on here.
Open the mail app. When you see the Mailboxes screen, over to the upper right you should see Edit. Tap on that. The next screen allows you to select what to display on the previous screen. You should be able to select the individual mailboxes. Mine came over that way when I updated.

But on the Mac OS you rarely get viruses and i dont have a anitvirus program, so how do you know when you have one? And what does it do?

Since no ones got one that I know of it is hard to say. I figure that when the day comes that someone writes a Mac virus you will know real quick what happens. If your concerned you could use ClamXav. I use it if I download something for my wife's PC but have never found anything yet.
