When downloading yosemite to upgrade from snow leopard the download appears to overload my internet and will not complete and forces a restart of my modem. Anyone else have this problem?
When downloading yosemite to upgrade from snow leopard (10.6.8) the download stops partway through and appears to have overloaded the internet, causing me to have to restart the modem.I have an Imac 8,i with 4gb of ram, which is supposed to support yosemite. Anyone else having this problem?
I am not sure it is the modem, but I use a Webstar by scientific atlanta provided by the local dsl.

My iMac fails when I try to upgrade from Snow Leopard 10.6.8. I have to boot up from disk. Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? I need to upgrade in order to install latest software.
It would be lovely to know what your talking about. Upgrading from Snow Leopard does not involve discs.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

i just upgraded my apple TV and now when I rent a movie on iTunes, instead of it playing instantly, it takes 60 hours to load. Anyone else have this problem?
Apple Support, I have just purchased 3 movies 2 from my account and 1 from my wifes account and both systems are stating that it will take 2 days to download. I have a FIOS 150 megabit per second up and 150 megabit per second down busiuness class fiber service to my location. I have tested downloading 10Gbyte files from two other locations and both work fine. I additionally went out and have tested doing speed tests (http://www.speedtest.net/) from over 10 other locations all over the US and all are over 75 magabits per second download speeds with a few hitting 100 and 125 megabit per second speeds. What is wrong with your servers or your internet connection????

I have additionally tried to download them with my Apple TV and two different PCs all wired on Gigabit Ethernet with jumbo frames enabled. I have tried differnet DNS servers also. I can upload and download files to my office 50G in less than 1 hour. I have also download movies from 2 other movie sites without any problems. -
When I try to enter codes for digital movie downloads it tells me "code redemption is temporarily unavailable. Try again later." Customer support has been no help. Anyone else have this problem?
Am sick of going back and forth with what has turned out to be worthless customer support. Have sent them so much info and pictures, no help. All they do is send me links for instructions on how to redeem the codes. I know how to redeem, I have redeemed at least 50 codes. To them I am obviously an idiot though. To me it seems to be a problem on their end, but can't get an answer from them on why it is telling me code redemption is unavailable. Please help! Anybody!Confirming my suspicions with every passing hour. Support on this forum is non-existent like the support from Apple support. But, you got my money now... why would you care?

I upgraded from Dreamweaver CS4 to CS6. but now when I want to upload I get "an TFP error occured - cannot make connection to host". I spent hours with the host technician and we cant find the error. I reinstalled DW4 and it connects to host perfectly. Anyone else seen this problem?

None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We have double checked all of them and we have everything exactly right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Could there must be factor in 6 that didn't exist in 4? Something that isnt in the SiteSetup but in some hidden dialog box ?
I can also upload to my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And as I said DW CS4 works fine. So the problem is not with my host, its with DW CS6 in particular.Thank you Jon, that fixed it perfectly. You have saved me from going crazy. The only difference I see now is in "Server Name" it changed what I had entered (my ftp address) to "Remote Server"; which seems odd -- but it works! Of course I saw that menu item "Import" and but I thought thats obviously not for me: "Why would I want to import an entire website?". I did not however see "Export the selected site" for thats only a tiny icon in the footer. However I would have thought the same: "Why would I want to export my entire website?".
An observation: I've seen this problem in a lot of Adobe software, the menu-names of items are obscure, non descriptive. What would be better would be for the menu names or popups to say "Export Site Setup settings" and "Import Site Setup settings" -
My iphone 3g wont load all comments from online newspaper. when I touch the "load more comments" button the little spinning spiral appears then nothing happens. Anyone else have this problem with some online newspapers?

problem with updated find my iPhone (FMi) app: when I attempt to open the FMi app, it tells me that I need to be a registered developer and run iOS7 to do so; is anyone else having this problem? I got the app as a regular update to my existing FMi app which worked great.
The problem is being reported in the news media, yes. Apparently someone at Apple jumped the gun and uploaded the update before it was ready. They'll probably issue another update shortly, I would expect, but you can go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. If you have a backup copy of the older version of the app, remove the newer version, restore the old version to iTunes on your computer, and resync.
Update: Well, that was certainly quick. As of a short time ago, various sites are reporting that the Find My iPhone app is no longer displaying the previous error message. If it still is for you, delete it from your iPhone and re-download from the iTunes Store.

I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!

my airplay from my MacBook Pro to my tv through my apple tv is fuzzy- it just started being fuzzy about 2 months ago- it used to be clear- anyone else have this problem? How can I fix it?

If your TV screen appears fuzzy or black (you see no video)
Make sure the television you are using supports the Apple TV resolution requirements. Please see the Apple TV technical specifications.
When you connect power, check to make sure the LED turns on. If the LED is not on, then verify with a known good power outlet or connect something else to the outlet you're using for Apple TV and make sure it works (such as a lamp or clock).
Make sure you're using the correct video cables and that they are connected firmly to Apple TV and to your TV.
Connect the HDMI cable directly into the Apple TV and your television, remove any third party devices or adapters.
Make sure the input setting you've selected on your TV matches the input you have your video cables connected to. See the documentation that came with your TV for more information.
Change the Apple TV resolution by pressing and holding the Menu and Up button for six seconds. The Apple TV will automatically cycle to the next resolution at approximately 20 second intervals. Pressing the Selectbutton will immediately cycle to the next resolution.
If you are connected via HDMI, try unplugging and replugging your HDMI cable.
If HDMI isn't working on an Apple TV (1st generation), try component cables instead (and disconnect the HDMI cable temporarily). Read more about HDMI vs component video.

Half the ebooks I have bought from iTunes have large sections or complete chapters missing from them which is beginning to seriously irritate. Does anyone else have this problem or it is something to do with the downloading. In which case does anyone have an answer?
You should be able to delete and redownload them via the bookshelf in the iBooks app : tap the Edit button top right of the shelf, select and delete the books, then go into the Store via the button top left of the bookshelf, and in the Purchased tab (bottom right of the store) find and re-download the books.
If they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those books and use the 'Report a Problem' link. -
I downloaded a movie to my Air, but it won't sync to my ipad2 and says it's not authorized. It's not a rental. Anyone else have this problem or know how to resolve?
I ended up having a one hour conversation with Apple Support which evolved to handing over control of my screen and then eventually having to use Terminal. I wish I could remember the command but it's probably best I don't.
One thing we looked at right away was the account name used to dowload the movie. Is it the same as the account name you have saved on your iPad. That's easy to check and would be great if that is all that's needed to correct. Good luck.
Here's also an email I got from Support that could solve your problem if it's not as difficult as my issue was.
I would like to inform you that this issue can occur if iOS (your device's operating system) on your device needs to be updated. It can also happen if the computer you're trying to sync from has not been authorized to play purchases you are trying to sync.
I suggest that you first see if updating iOS on your iPad resolves the issue. This article will walk you through the process:

If there are still purchases that won't sync to your device after you update its software, I suggest reauthorizing your computer. To do so, follow these steps:

4) Now from the Store pull-down menu at the top, choose Authorize Computer.

I have exactly the same issue as described above : I installed the update 5.1.1 on my iphone 3GS and since then, I can not turn it on anymore. In Itunes, I get an error 37 when I am doing a restauration and it stops.
This error has nothing to do with firewall : I tried to restore the phone on several computers, including in an Apple reseller and it did not work anywhere.
I spent several hours on phone with the hotline from Apple which arrived to the conclusion that it is a hardware issue, but the phone was working perfectly fine until I installed this update! -
I can't access my Numbers documents now that I have OS Mavericks 10.9.3. It says I need to buy an upgrade for 19.99 to access them. Anyone else have this problem?
If you upgraded from previous OS, Look in Applications folder for an iWork folder and launch old Numbers from there.
If you clean installed, look for your old install disks for iWork and reinstall.
They will run on Mavericks but they need to be there.
