Temporarily disable any security software on the computer.
Also check the host file and remove any entries for gs.apple.com.

Here are some possible solutions:
Do you use musicmatch jukebox on your computer? If you do, you have to go into task manager on windows and end process mim.exe. It interferes with disconnecting ext devices
Empty your "trash/recycle bin."
If that doesn't work, try quitting all your programs, especially music-type programs, basically things that look for mp3's etc.
if that doesn't work, "log off" then "log on" and that should refresh/purge your OS system.
Finally, you can restart your computer.

I am unable to use itunes to tranfer appln from my laptop to Iphone 4. I uninstall and reinstalled. But still when I connect the phone to PC , itunes is not launching.
One thing you should definitely try is keeping your iPhone 4 connected via USB cable in your computer and restarting. This should make the computer recognize that it is connected and as long as you have your iTunes set up to automatically open upon connection with your iPhone you should be all set!

The number pad would not let me type in a 1 2 3 for my 4 digit code. After numerous tries, the phone now says iphone disabled connect to itunes. When I connected to itunes, it asked for the code which I was unable to enter. Help!
Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons on iPhone until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. This usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Restore the iPhone Firmware.

When my iPhone connects to iTunes all it says for my memory is other, how do I fix this?
All my memory bar for my iPhone shows when synched to iTunes is 5.9G's of Other, and nothing else shows up. All my apps and photos are still on my phone but I'm worried that if I synch it they might be deleted.
A huge amount of "Other" as you have is typically caused by corrupted files, which generally are the result of some faulty app. Check your apps carefully to make sure they work properly.
To reduce "Other" to iis standard size (about 1GB or slightly more), restore your iPhone. Plug it in to iTunes, let it sync, then choose "Restore" from the iPhone's summary tab in iTunes.
As the restore proceeds, you will be given the choice of "restore from backup" (which may or may not work), and "restore as new" (which certainly should work). Try restoring from backup first. If that fails, restore as new and then manually sync. -

The most common cause of this is dirt/crud in your dock connector or a bent pin. So, try cleaning your dock connector, use compressed air & a soft toothbrush...look closely, as it doesn't take much to create a short, thus produsing that message.

No, it does not. It transfers purchases from the iDevice to the computer. The computer must be authorized for the Apple ID that the content was acquired with.

I want to use an old 3 GS iPhone that is no longer in service as a phone now as just an iPod to play music. When I connect the phone to the computer with iTunes running, iTunes says it can't connect to the device because it didn't get a valid response from the device. How can I get the system to recognize the phone, and let me rename it as my iPod, instead of my phone?

I have a 4s with the latest 6.0.1 update and windows 7 with iTunes 11. When I connect the phone, windows can see but iTunes doesn't. Have tried re-installs and re-starts. Anybody else have this problem?
