When I log onto the internet, Firfox opens my home page twice and simultaneously.

Happens randomly, but several times a day.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
* https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
* [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in [[Safe mode]]:
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

Hi,
Close any open Internet Explorer windows.
Open windows Control Panel, open Internet Options, click the Security tab and click Custom Level. About half way down, under the heading Miscellaneous, there is an entry for 'Display Mixed Content' - click Enable and then Ok, then click Apply and Ok in the previous window.

• It says I'm logged onto the internet but...

We got a new modem for our pc today because our old one died. Trying to use the wireless connection to get my Macbook back online it said that it found the connection and the connection had full strength, but when I try to use Safari it says that I am not logged onto the internet. When I go to airport the dot next to it is yellow instead of green and says that I may not be able to get onto the internet because of Airport's IP address, which I can not find. That was not an issue with the old router. What do I do?

I'm having the same issue but I don't have a new router and it was working earlier today. I posted a question asking about it because I didn't see this. I hope someone can help us with this.

• Why when i buy books on my ipad, when i log onto the store it does not show that i have purchased them?

Why when i buy books on my ipad, when i log onto the store it does not show that i have purchased them?
how many books and songs were therefore lost when i had to wipe my ipad?
this is SHOCKING from Apple... this is not in my domain of settings!!!

In the iBooks application on the Mac, there is a checkbox to sync highlights and notes across devices.
I don't see a similar setting in the iBooks app on my iPad. It may require iBooks on the Mac as a mediator.
Also:
Can I highlight text and make notes?
Yes, iBooks includes built-in Highlight and Note features. Highlight any word or passage of text within a book. You can also create a Note from your highlighted selection. Review your Highlights and Notes by tapping the Table of Contents button and then tapping Bookmarks. Highlights and Notes appear in their own section under Bookmarks.

• Website/software that prevens you from logging onto the Internet

Recently I read about a website or software that allows you to disengage from the Internet for a period of time.
Do you know the URL for this site or product?
Thank you.

Your question says that you want to prevent logging onto the internet...that is very easy to do, simply unplug the cable to your modem. Or turn the AirPort card off if you are using wireless.
If you are looking for software for another purpose, such as parental controls, that is a different topic and there are various ways of preventing unfettered access to the internet.

My email on my mac (which has iCloud) is giving me a message that the server has rejected my password. When I go onto the internet and sign into iCloud there, the password is accepted. What am I doing wrong??

Thanks...I just spent an hour on the phone with Apple Support sorting out the password issues for my various devices!!! My password was compliant with the new rules, but there were some (mysterious) setting issues that required me to delete mail from my MacBookPro and add it back, again. All in all, it was an hour of trouble-shooting which resulted in what, I hope, is a good fix.
Thanks for your help...wishing you continued success in the support community.

• Help logging onto the internet

I am staying in a condo that has wifi, and it's supposed to have a pop up window for me to enter a username and password. It's supposed to pop up every day but for some reason I can't get it to pop up right now and therefore I'm not able to log onto the internet. I have tried to clear my browser history and that didn't help. I've restarted my computer several times also. Does anyone have any suggestions.

This seems to be some type of bug in safari. Try a different broswer and you shouldn't have the problem.

my iphone 3gs has a restrictions passcode that I don't know and has no safari icon to log onto the internet

You need to restore your phone as new or from a backup made before that passcode was set.

• Firefox opens with home page tab and blank tab.

When I start Firefox (2) tabs open, my home page tab first and a blank tab second.

Does this occur other times that you navigate to your home page, such as:
* Opening a new window (Ctrl+n)
* Clicking the Home button or pressing Alt+Home on the keyboard
''If so,'' there might be an extra vertical bar character toward the end of your home page setting. You can check that in the Options dialog:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > General
More info on that:
* [[Startup, home page and download settings]]
* [[How to set the home page]]
''If not,'' it's possible that there's something odd in the shortcut you use to start Firefox. You can check here:
right-click the icon > Properties > Shortcut tab
The target field should have this, no more, no less:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

• I save web site passwords, but it does not consistently enter them when I log onto the same site. Seems to have started occurring after I installed Norton Internet Security 2012. Anyone aware of this issue and how to resolve?

It works fine for a day or so, but seems to fail the next day.

Websites may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving and filling the name and password.
You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.

Hey Csound1,
Looks like we found a solution, it's Mickey Mouse but it works. After talking to two Apple Senior Advisors, this is the fix they came up with:
The first advisor after exploring it for awhile, came to the conclusion the way to get my calendars back local On my Mac with the alerts as I had then was to import the saved .ics files with my my 'dangerous email alerts' being removed then me manually re-adding them. I said that was a no go.
The second advisor, after speaking with me for awhile and trying a few things that we'd tried before said he'd do some work on his end and call me back. A couple of hours later he phoned back with a fix that I guess will have to do, his solution:
I had to go into Calendar-preferencs-accounts and create a Gmail calendar, quit and restart Calendar, I created a calendar in the gMail account. Then I was given the option in Calendar under File-New Calendar to create On my Mac local calendars. Next was to create local calendars with the same names as my iCloud calendars. Now I had to un-check all calendars but one, put Calendar in month view, command-click all the events for the given calendar and drag them to the new local calendar of the same name. I then had to repeat this for each of the calendars and for all 12 months of the year.
I'm not done yet but it seems to be working. As I said Mickey Mouse but doing the job. It seems creating another online calendar account was the only way to get the local On my Mac option, active again. What a pain in the a** this has been, I will repeat it again
iCloud is EVIL.

• I can't log onto the AT&T wireless website with my username and password Why not?

It won't log me into my AT&T wireless account. It worked last week.

I had the same issue just come up all of a sudden. AT&T must have changed the port they use for SSL (standard port is 443). I fixed it by modifying my firewall settings to allow TPC communication from their SSL port (8443).

• Unable to log onto broadband internet

Recently changed motherboard to K7N2 DELTA2-LSR. However I cannot log onto the internet from home using the onboard network card and ethernet modem.
When I try to make a new connection manually, the option "connect using a broadband that requires a user name and password" is greyed out. My ISP help desk says it's due to corrupted network hardware.
How can I overcome this?
Aztech ADSL ethernet modem
Win XP Pro
AMD Semprom 2400
512MB ram

Just a thought, not all modems and routers are necessarily compatible.Go to Aztech's website and see iif possible firmware/driver update is available that might have the answer.A possible workaround would be to install a PCI card and disable onboard.
network problem? post hubs etc that do not work with onboard lan
