I've rebooted. No difference. Ive even done a system restore, No difference. Hi everyone!
I will be posting this in all "weird sounds topics" just so you know.
These "weird" sounds you hear are from pacman.
Today is Pacmans 30:th birthday and google wanted to celebrate by making the pacman game playable at their website "www.google.com".
You will notice that their logo is changed to pacman with the map swapped out to the text "google".
The game will probably just be here today so all noises will be gone by tomorrow. If you don't want to hear the sound today then please don't visit google or just turn your volume down.
    Yours sincerely: LAwLz

This issue can be caused by a problem with the file c:\windows\system32\dwmapi.dll
The file dwmapi.dll is a Vista file and should not be present in Windows XP.

Roadrunner is POP email, and the feature you are looking for
is a function of IMAP email. Roadrunner has not announced
any plans to make IMAP available. If this is important to you,
get a gmail account (which can be setup as IMAP)  and configure
your Roadrunner account to automatically forward emails to the
    gmail account.

iTunes updates podcasts each hour but won't refresh. When I sync my iPhone, it gets yesterdays podcasts and I have to manually hit refresh to make it update. How can I make it automatically refresh?

I think figured out what is going on here... If you have set your Windows OS time manually, Apple iTunes will not honor the time you set in Windows XP...
In my case, I had not applied the Windows update that changes the Daylight savings rules. No big deal I thought... I can easily correct the time manually. Well... iTunes will not like it if you do that. You have to have your daylight savings rules set correctly on the PC. Microsoft has a free program called TZEdit that will let you adjust the DST boundaries.
Once I set the rules correctly and then set my time keeping back to "Automatic" it fixed it. Hope this helps...

  • Music plays when I open Firefox browser

Whenever I open Firefox browser music begins playing. I have also sometimes heard non-musical audio, what sounds like a commercial.
I checked the add-ons/plug-ins list of Firefox and nothing on it seems to be the source of this problem.
I also already checked the installed programs from my computer's Control Panel. But there is nothing installed recently that would explain this unwanted audio playing upon opening Firefox.
And this unwanted audio only plays in Firefox, not when I use Internet Explorer browser. But I prefer Firefox overall, so hope I may find a remedy to this situation.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the problem will not go away using that measure either.
And when I have tried a System Restore of my hard drive the earliest date is this morning, which does no good as this problem was also there yesterday.
My Operating System is Windows 7 64-bit. I am using an HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC.
Please advise on what is a solution to this issue.

Perchance, were you using a Video Downloader add-on?
Maybe a video got "stuck" in the download cache and was replaying when Firefox was opened.

When I open firefox the whole screen fills with the firefox page but no tabs or toolbar at the top of the screen. It does not do this if I use Internet Explorer. I can google say, my email of facebook and I can get there but there is no way to get out of this page, no "red" X to close the sight.

  • When I open firefox all I get is the page outline the contents of the page is missing

For 2 days now this is all I get when I open mozilla/firefox.I can see the outside frame of the page eg:facebook. But I can't see the contents of the page,It doesn't matter what site I try to access it's the same.I have cleared my cache, cookies, defragged rebooted and nothing seems to work.I even tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it and still no change.I rely on this browser for a lot of things I do.Help please!

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • I want Google when I open Firefox; instead I get "inbox". I am using OS 10.6.7

When I tried to open Firefox yesterday, I inadvertently dowloaded an "inbox" home page. I don't want this. I want the home page to have the Google search bar at the center of the page as before. How do I get this back and get rid of inbox?

    Do this.
#In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.
#In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''
#Double click it and remove whatever's in there. You'll see it revert to "Default" and "String".
    #Go to File | Exit
#Restart Firefox, go to the site you want to set as your homepage.
    #Go to '''Tools '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.
#Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.
#Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.

  • I have downloaded Firefox 4 and when I open Firefox again I get the message that my version is not safe from online attacks, so why?

I opened Firefox and got the message that I needed to download 4 because my version was not safe from attacks. I downloaded 4 and then I quit Firefox and reopened it, and got the same message as before. I am probably doing something incorrectly, but I have no idea what that could be.
    Thanks.

  • After getting my 2007 imac's HDD repaired, the super drive stopped working... How can i fix this?

After getting my 2009 imac's HDD repaired the super drive wont work anymore... How can I resolve this?!

I think you need to contact the repairer, and explain the problem as something may not have been reconnected properly on the re-assembly. That is not to be assumed as fact, so taking a diplomatic approach along these lines in negotiation would be in your interest.

  • How can I add a homepage...When i open firefox, I want my first page to be yahoo and the second tab to open as the google page...how do i do this?

This is not a problem, but firefox does not have an easy way to add on homepages like internet explorer. please tell me how it is possible with firefox? thank you

Firefox can open multiple home pages. They are separated with the "|" keyboard character. Easiest way to set multiple home pages:
#open only the pages you want to be set as home pages
    #go to Options > General
#set "When Firefox starts" to "Show my home page"
    #click "Use current pages"
