When I play videos (e.g. YouTube) the videos freeze. Have tried Safe Mode and resetting Firefox. Does not happen with Internet Explorer.

I have disabled hardware acceleration. Note that the video freezes, but the computer has not locked up; only FF is impacted. If I open Task Manager and click End Task, the video resumes and will finish playing as long as I leave the Confirm Close dialog box open, but when the video ends I cannot return to normal FF operation and have to use Task Manager to shut down FF. Hardware is an HP 6730b business notebook running Win7 Home Premium 64 bit, SP1, 4 GB RAM. The issue is not limited to YouTube videos.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed

I can no longer open my Comcast email when I launch from Firefox - it takes me to the email preview page but will not allow me to open the inbox . Does not happen with Internet Explorer.

This started last month - when I go to my comcast account, I'm able to log on and view my account but can not open my email inbox. When I enter my user name and password, I'm taken to the "Email Preview" page so that I can see a partial view of the inbox but when I click on "View Entire Inbox" it jumps to a page showing that it's loading but goes right back to the preview page - I can't open any of the emails. This does not happen when I use Internet Explorer or Firefox on my older laptop.

When I try to log in to the Centrelink site computer freezes and have to reboot router but this does not happen with Internet Explorer

I have been trying for weeks to log into Centrelink web site but every time I get to the security question computer freezes and I lose connection. I then have to reboot router. Internet provider advised me to check site using Internet Explorer which I did and had no problems.

All streaming video with my Firefox browser is choppy and constantly stutters and stops and starts. This does not happen with Internet Explorer. Help!!

Any streaming video that I view on Firefox stutters, is choppy and very irritating to try and watch. I opened up Internet Explorer and found that I don't have those issues. This occurs on YouTube, Facebook, and all other videos that I attempt to watch.

I've tried both things, but video still stutters.. Have also tried removing profile, and complete reinstall of firefox.
I'm on 24 Mbit cable and the only user atm. IE and Chrome seems to work without stuttering.
I've having this stuttering every ~5th second, like a small "1/4 sec buffering".

Some of my live bookmarks no longer reload, not manually or automatically. I've tried safe mode and resetting Firefox and still have the problem. Fixable?

I have subscribed to 19 blogs as live bookmarks. A couple of months ago, one of the blogs started not refreshing the list of posts. Now a second blog no longer refreshes. I have tried the "Reload Live Bookmark" option (both from the live book mark dropdown and from the "Show all Bookmarks" menu and it does not refresh the list. If I visit the blog, I get the latest posting, but it never shows up in the RSS feed. I have tried opening Firefox in safe mode to see if the add-ons are causing the problem and there is no change in the behavior of the feeds. I have also tried Resetting Firefox and that did not work. Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.

After I got connected with quickbooks online, quickbooks is always open in the left third of my screen. I cannot close it separately from firefox. This does not happen in Internet Explorer. How can I make it go away?

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

this can be related to the compression of the PDF file.
You can turn off the FlateDecode compression again via report RSTXPDF3 as described in Note #843480. It is a little confusing. The option 'FLATE_COMPR_OFF' needs to be set to 'On' to turn off the FlateDecode compression.
To set this please run as follows:
se38 -> RSTXPDF3 -> enter 'FLATE_COMPR_OFF' in the 'Name' field -> Select 'Change Settings' radio button
You will get a pop-up 'Do not use flat compression'.
Select the 'on' button.
After this check if the PDF is created correctly.

I even saved the page because I could not save the image then when I right clicked again I could save the image. There is no pattern to when I can or can't save the image. What kind of context menu do you see instead?
You can right-click such an image and use Inspect Element to open the Inspector to see what gets selected instead.
