When I purchase a movie rental on the iTunes store the download takes forever before it starts to download

When I rent a movie in SD from the iTunes store it tells me in the downloads section "preparing to download" and that msg stays there for hours before it downloads the movie, Why?

Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

Hi Dan,
If the song does not appear in your Purchased folder, then you can go back to the Store, select the song again, go select "Buy", and press Enter. iTunes knows you already purchased it, so it won't charge you again. It will, in fact, tell you that you have already purchased this item, and will ask you if you want to download it again for free....
Just in case it is not to be found in the Purchased folder!

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

Thanks but it's just my desktop that doesn't see it though. My notebook sees it everytime, even at the same exact time that my desktop doesn't see it. For example yesterday when I was typing up this post, I was typing up the post on my notebook because my desktop didn't see the router. I don't think it has anything to do with the router actually, but I wanted to see if anyone on here has encountered this issue before. Other forums have similar issues but I've tried all of the fixes I found elsewhere and they didn't work.
Any other ideas?

Try temporarily disabling your firewall and see if you are then able to access the iTunes store.

When I try to access PURCHASES in the iTunes store, the program crashes

Every time I click on Purchases in the iTunes store it attempts to load my purchases (it seems) and then the program just crashes and Windows shuts it down. What's up with that? I can only access purchases through my iPod touch or iPhone & then transfer them to iTunes when syncing. Any suggestions?

If you are stuck trying to access your purchases on the iTunes Store on your computer because iTunes is crashing on you, then refer to the article below to further assist you. I would start with starting iTunes in Safe Mode to see if it still gives you issues with accessing the purchased page in the iTunes Store.

Earlier this morning, I tried to access the iTunes store on my laptop. It seemed to be loading fine, but when the screen loaded up it was different. I could use the search bar to search for the things I wanted to purchase, but I couldn't buy anything. I've tried restarting the laptop, but nothing seems to have helped. I would copy over the entire thing if you have room. With iTunes 10.4 though, you can download any previous iTunes purchases you have made in the past with your current iTunes account. While in iTunes, look at the left hand side of your screen and select "Purchases" and look at the bottom right corner of the screen and select "Download Previous Purchases". If you have an iPhone, iPod and/or iPad...you can do the same thing from each device. Nice new feature...just remember that those ripped CDs need a back-up!!! Enjoy...

Although it's a slightly non-standard circumstance in which to be getting that error message number (usually people get it when they try to go to the Store), I think we should still try the iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

(Some of the things that can cause the more familiar 306 might also cause download difficulties, so I'm thinking the normal 306 measures are still worth a crack here.)

When i go to connect to the itunes store the loading bar that appears in the top middle part of the page just times out.

so i went on my compter to spend my itunes voucher and itunes just wouldnt open. hte loading bar at the top of the screen seems to go to halfway ad the get stuck, it then disapears and i am left with a screen saying itunes store .
i am njot sure what is cuasing it or how to fix it (my internet is working fine ).
It freezes when it gets to that point .(i only remember this as a problem since i updated itunes to its latest version)
