When I start the install, I choose "as current user" and then...nothing. The installation just stops.
That's it. I can't even get past the starting phase of the installation. It just dies. Any ideas? I'm on windows 7
Try this:
*Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Start the installation with a double-click on the desktop icon
You normally install Firefox as a normal user and confirm the UAC pop-up alert to allow Firefox to update the registry and install the Mozilla Maintenance Service to make it possible to update in the background.

I recently bought a Macbook Pro, this is my first Mac. I restarted it, but when it started back there was a plain white screen and then it prompted me to insert the reboot disk. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a way to do this manually like with PC's?
The new Mac's came with OS X Lion 10.7 and there are no boot disks.
Since it's so new, take it back to the Apple Store and let them deal with it.
If not you can hold Command and r (as in rotten) keys down and boot the computer.
You'll be presented with a several options, including one to reinstall OS X Lion provided you have a Apple ID, which means you have to use Safari in there to set one up. To do that you need to set up a email account with Google or Yahoo. Once you get the ID, then you can download Lion and reinstall it.
It's so stupid not having a copy of the OS on hand to perform your own repairs.
Of course Apple will be happy to sell you a $69 Lion USB stick.
Like I said, take it back to the store, and try to get your money back, that will force them to think about just giving you a replacement machine that works.
Lion doesn't work really but it can be acceptable until the patches get released. -
when i watch videos on my iphone 5 my wifi buffers the video and then halfway through it just stops and all wifi stops working on my device. i need to switch back off and on the wifi then it works but the same thing happens every time for videos. NOT A ROUTER PROBLEM. all my other apple devices dont have this problem

Just got an Airport Time capsule,
I set it up as a network extension and began back-up.
It estimated 4 hours so I left it run. After 10 hours I noticed it had stopped backing up but had not back up to the time capsule. So I tried again and it just got stuck on Calculating Time Remaining. I reset the capsule a few times and have set it up as instructed. The same has happened each time.
It backs up about 17kb of info and then freezes with Calculating time remaining below the progress bar.
Anyone any ideas?
ThanksNetwork extension sounds onimous.. is this wireless extension.. it is super bad for large TM backups..
Always do the first backup direct by ethernet to the TC even if it has to be in full isolation.
Stalling at 17kb might be just the wireless having issues. Or it can be a corruption in a file.

A1.. install the widget so you have access to the TM logs.. what the heck it is doing.
A4. if you upgrade installed OS.. do a reset of TM and start over.
A5 verify the disk.
C9 watch out for network names that are over long and over complex.. especially with Mavericks. It is hopeless.
I do recommend using a USB connected drive.. to do a first backup it is often the easy way.
Much faster and more reliable than over network. -
I keep getting error code 1 when trying to install the software to my computer. It also downloaded 3 times today and won't go directly into the setup mode. Ideas? Suggestions?

When I start firefox a box comes up to reset and then its in safe mode
see above, it then goes to a mozilla page I reset my homepage but it does this everytime I get on the internet. I updated firefox this am and the problem started ever since, restarted computer 3 times. It does say it's running in safe mode

My new iMac has recently had OSX Lion installed on it and now when I start the machine it looks like its updating something every time, and the wireless doesn't work. So I restart and everything is OK - until I have to start up again the next time - then I have to repeat this again! Any help appreciated.
I've been having the same issue, but have just discovered something on my own that hasn't been pointed out in any of the forums I've visited. In what I thought would be a vain attempt to help myself, I went to System Preferences, Users & Groups, and then clicked on Login Items. I discovered that one of the Items that was listed to open automatically upon login was iTunes Helper and that there was an exclamation point beside it indicating that it was incompatible. I simply deleted that item and now I don't have the situation you described and my wireless is connected. Hope this helps!

How i solved:
1 Mount the Flash Player installer .dmg file
2 Copy the "Install Adobe Flash Player" file to desktop or any other directory as preferred
3 Open terminal and cd to desktop or the other directory
4 Run the following command on terminal: sudo ./Install\ Adobe\ Flash\ Player.app/Contents/MacOS/Install\ Adobe\ Flash\ Player
5 Insert the password when asked -
Ive just upgraded my late 2009 macbook, and things are not working properly. First of all, when I started the computer first time after installing Mountain Lion, some message advised me that some files were impossible to install. Once I wrote my password, and for now on, everytime I start the session, another window advise me that "Java SE 6" is missing, due that, the computer can't run some "CS5Service Manager". If I try to install it, the download ends with an error. If finally, you skip the istallation, you arrive to the dock, but the menu bar at the top of the screen doesn't show up.
In addition, my trackpad doesn't works either. I can move the arrow but i can't click anywhere, probably because the option of clicking by touching is disabeled and I can't performance a regular click.
I'll be very glad if someone know what the heck is happening with my computer. Anyway, I'm going to the genius bar next Saturday. Thx!We're sorry.

i have tried to install iTunes 5 but when Windows it starts to install it says there`s a problem with my Windows installer Paket and cancel the Program. I`ve searched for answears in the web and they said ischould waste my old Itunes version and try it again. But it happend the same again! I solved it myself, after the "note" which came back from FF/Mozilla just as I finished my message, commenting on what it was that my system had , I wnnt back to check my plug-ins etc. I downloaded the latest Java, BOTH 32bit AND 64 bit versions and latest Firefox.
Now all is working.

I installed an airport express, on my mac book i can use the airplay using iTunes, but on my iPhone en ipad the icon for airplay not appears on the screan when i start the music player.
Chances are, you have already tried this and already know the answer.
But, if not....sorry, but no......since your printer is not AirPrint compatible, you must use the extra software workaround in the Mac.
A newer AirPrint printer would allow you to do what you want.
