When going to my hometown paper's site I get a dropdown banner that says Firefox has prevented this site from reloading ,but when I click on the allow button you have on the banner nothing happens so why is the button there?

When I go to the local paper's from Elmira,NY and some other sites I get a drop down banner at the top of the page that tell me Firefox has prevented this page from reloading,but when I go to the allow button that you put on the right side of the banner and click on it the banner goes away and then it comes right back. It will come back every time you click allow until I click on the x box. So I want to know why is the allow button there if it does nothing?

You won't get that dropdown banner anymore afterwards.

Why does firefox show a tab that says firefox has stopped you.. from opening this page and the ALLOW icon is there for me to click.

When trying to send a comment to a web site I get a message, Firefox has blocked this site, how can I turn this off?

when trying to send a comment to discussion sites I get an error message that says "Firefox has blocked this site" actions offered "allow"
or "X". When I enter "allow" it ignores the command and the message disappears. A lot of wasted thought and typing. How do I turn this feature off.

How do I defeat or whitelist the "Firefox has blocked this site from loading another web page" function?

Often when I click a link within a web page, a message bar appears at the top of the page saying "Firefox has blocked this site from loading another page" or something similar. This happens frequently on banking or credit card sites. This is particularly annoying because it seems to disturb the operation of the link when I have to click the "Allow" box on the message bar. I would prefer to create a whitelist for this feature so it would not interrupt my banking operations. Failing that, I would like to know how to toggle the feature on and off. Failing that, I would like to know how to defeat the function.

When I purchase postage on line, at the time of payment I get a message saying Firefox has blocked this site and I click to allow but the message keeps coming back and then the payment for my order fails and I cannot print my postage. Is there something I can do to prevent this . I hae allowed pop upos on this site but it makes no difference.

Even though I have allowed popups from a certain site,when I try to open a dilaogue box a yellow line pops up that says firefox has blocked a popup. How can I change this??

Office 2010 - Excel prompts "The office File Validation feature has blocked this file from opening as it may contain harmful content"

The Excel Application opens a Windows with OK button. Reading Office has detected a problem with this file. To help protect your computer this file cannot be opened.
This only happens when opeining the Excel File via a XenApp Published Application but otherwise on, Excel Installed Desktop opens the file but with a warning RED bar on top.
Opening a RED bar is good with us. but completely unable to open is the problem. See below screenshots

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Security\FileValidation\EnableOnLoad
Set DWORD to 0, then office will not validate files.

Why ?? on EVERY web search do I get a message saying " Firefox has prevented this web site ". These are trusted sites for the most part

I reloaded the Free version of Firefox browser about two months ago. Since then EVERY TIME I browse, with just a few exceptions, Firefox displays a message bar across the top of the screen saying " Firefox has prevented this site" with the message there is a check box asking "ALLOW?" When I check the ALLOW most times I get the web page BUT on some occasions Firefox just continues to block the page.
The sites and pages I am referring to here are for the most TRUSTED places.
This has been happening since I reloaded. It was NOT an issue prior to that.
It is VERY annoying and I have since switched to Google Chrome.
If you can offer some reasoning or explanation as to why this is happening I will be appreciative.

If you find a version of Firefox that isn't free, let us know because that likely would be a scam...
It would be helpful to know the rest of that phrase because two things come to mind but I might be missing the one you're actually seeing.
* Popup windows: Firefox will display an infobar like that when a popup window is blocked. If you don't ever want to block popups, you can turn that feature off in the Options dialog: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Content > ''Uncheck'' Block pop-up windows
* Redirect: Firefox has an accessibility feature that blocks some redirects. You can unblock them in the Options dialog: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General mini-tab > ''Uncheck'' Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page

I have 9 tabs, but when I try to make a tab group, only the current page shows up as a thumbnail, not all the tabs. I can't get them to work for me. All the tabs are listed on the right side of the tab groups box. What am I doing wrong?

There's no thumbnails to drag around except one on the left side of the page (the one that's open). The right side of the page lists every tab I have created.

Perhaps your problem is that '''you must save your browsing history''' in order to use app-tabs that would apply to groups as well but I did not test.

I would suggest that if you do not save that stuff in bookmarks, that you will probably have a serious problem soon and lose your tabs, so if you count on them you could lose them. They should stand up to repeated restarts but I would not count of them as app-tabs myself, for one thing it is new, the other is I have to frequently wipe them out and restart, because I actively open new content into them and go back to the beginning of the tab history, and sometimes I can't, and sometimes I lose them by accidentally closing them -- and I must be able to close them in all manners that I close other tabs or I wouldn't be using them.
There are people who keep 200 tabs open through restarting, that is not for me, I try to clear out the tabs frequently.
That is what app-tabs are for as opposed to home pages, but I did have a problem when I tested with 120 since as app-tabs only about 65 can be seen at once even though I did reduce the width of app-tabs to about 2/3 the size that they were.. Problem I had when I restarted was that the window enlarged a bit beyond the screen, and my tab counter disappeared until I reduced the count to about 65. I do not allow tabs to scroll so you probably wouldn't have that problem.
I forgot to test home page with 60 tabs. I do have something set to 75 though have to check that. I tested with 60 pages as home page. Brought firefox down and backup with the 1 app-tab and 60 home pages the app-tab is the same size as the 60 normal tabs from home page.
Never used group-tabs by choice, since they messed me up I stay clear of them, I don't like them or anything large panoramic type of large thumbnails.

For instance I view an apartment ad which has various pictures attached. It says click on the pictures to see an enlarged version. FF opens the page however most of the page is blank and the picture appears to be pushed to the right side of the page and shows as if it has been scrunched agains the right side not showing the whole picture.

I see that you have increased some font sizes considerably.
* font.size.fixed.x-western: 20
* font.size.variable.x-western: 22
This can effect margins when the website specifies these as em values and cause content to shift.
If you have made changes to Advanced font settings like increasing the minimum/default font size then try the default minimum setting "none" and the default font size 16 in case the current setting is causing problems.

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their own fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but to use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with text not being displayed properly.
You can use the NoSquint extension to set font size (text/page zoom) and text color on web pages.

Your System Details list shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts.
The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be there.
You can check its content with a plain text editor (right-click: Open with) if you didn't create this file yourself.
The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.
You can delete this user.js and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

How can I get a scroll bar at the bottom of the page so I can see the right side of the page when I am using two windows?

With two or three pages open, I have scroll bars that allow me to see the right side of the other pages, but not on the Firefox page.

Thank you for the reply, Fred, but when I went to my saved screenshot, I realized that the shortcut on my desktop had opened in IE, not Firefox. There is no scroll bar and the directional arrows do not work. My daughter has been playing with my laptop again. When I set up the same conditions with Firefox, there is no scroll bar, but the arrows function properly, so I can read to the right edge of the page. Now to find someone who knows IE11.
