When I turn on computer I can't see the apple logo the screen is just a gray screen? I know a person presses "alt" to switch people apple and windows using bootcamp, but I just don't see the apple logo anymore. What is wrong with this thing?
So, do you see any boot choices if you hold alt at bootup?

I was updating my iphone, but my computer shut down half way through restoring my old settings. When I turned my computer back on, i tried to continue with the restore but the original backup i was trying to use wasn't there anymore, it had been replaced.
Try resetting the SMC.

Shut down the computer.
Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
Remove the battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.

Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC. -
When I turn on Messages, I can't see my messages. All I can see is a screen with horizontal lines. How can I get the regular Messages screen back?
The same is happening for me. Today I decided to reboot my PC because it was acting up a bit, go figure, and then for some reason at the same time the PC was restarting my macbook froze. I had to do a reboot with the restart button but then all that came up was a gray background and in the middle of the screen was a darker gray folder with a white question mark in the middle of it, blinking. I can't imagine why the restart would've affected my macbook. After finding information on how to fix this, I tried all of the steps that were given about using the mac OS X disk to use the first aid utility to fix it. When using the Disk Utility option whenever I select my hardrive and am in the First Aid tab, the only button I can use is the Verify Disk Permissions. The other three buttons, and namely the most important Repair Disk button, is/are not selectable (grayed out). I then tried resetting the PRAM the way they also said with the command + option + P + R and waited for the second startup sound. After that I gave the Disk Utility a second try, but still nothing. And now if I try to just reinstall the OS completely I can't even select a destination volume on the third step (Select Destination). Apparently this means i'm SOL.

Have you tried moving the thumbnail size slider at the botton on the screen?

What can i do to get my phone working. It went to a black screen when I was playing a game. I pressed the power and home button then it showed the apple logo and went back to a black screen. Doesn't came on, show a charging sign, read on iTunes.
Press and hold the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds until the white Apple logo appears.

my ipod touch is stuck on the apple logo and after a while a white screen comes up and it restarts and the same thing all over agan. this happened to me before and after a while it turns on but why does it keep on doing this?

My ipod touch 4will not respond unless I hook it up to the computer. It never goes pasthe logo apple screen.It never restores fully. Cant tell if this is a screen or software problem.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Boots to black in OS X mode (I believe 10.10.2? tough to check right now). I can boot into Windows 8 using Boot Camp without incident. I have booted to Disk Utility and run Disk and Permissions Repair. I have booted into Diagnostics, and no issues were found (ADP000 was the Reference Code given). I reset the PRAM, which gave a louder chime than I had been getting when failing to start up OS X, but otherwise no change. Feeling that my options were exhausted, I attempted to restore from Time Capsule, and it won't connect to Time Capsule, despite Time Capsule being the active router whose network I am connected to. Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
This should install the version of OS X that you had installed.
Be sure you only work on the OS X volume, not your Windows volume. I cannot tell you if you will still be able to boot the Windows volume after the above. You will need to find a fix for that. -

My ipod touch 4th gen is a having a few problems with charging and turning on, my ipod comes up with the extremely low on power symbol and then i put it into my computer and it comes up with the charging symbol then it goes to the apple logo and then onto a blank white screen and then turns off and repeats that process i have tried various things including resetting my ipod trying to connect it to itunes but it doesnt come up with anything so i cant reset it on itunes and have tried various charging devices.
Tried it but it won't do anything all it does is make the screen do a very small flash of white and then continues doing the same thing appearing with apple logo then the white screen and off and keeps repeating that
I'm guessing the white small flash means it's been reset when I hold the 2 buttons down,

hi i have an iphone 5 and when i have it unpluged it wont turn on and when it is pluged in to my mac or apple charger it just boots up to the apple logo than it turns off and restarts to the apple logo again and it just keeps doing that and ive tryed to reset it but i go and error message can someone please help
Take it to an Apple store for diagnosis and likely replacement.

I wanted to erase my ipod so i went on settings, then general and then i erased my ipod

so how can i fix this? please helpTry a Safe Boot by Restarting and holding down the Shift key between the startup tone and the Apple logo w/pinwheel. It will take longer to boot up in Safe mode. If successful, go to System Preferences > Startup Disk > select your OSx disk and restart.
