The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

At times when I am on a website, the cursor freezes and i have to shutdown and restart the processor efore I can proceed. Also, I have lost the toolbar and address line across the top of my desktop.

This occurs at least 4 or 5 times a day. I can do nothing when this happens. I don't know if this is a Firefox or Vista problem. I click on a link and it does not go but just sits there saying connecting.

I use a slightly different way than Alchroma.
Same
• One video on track 1 and the other on Video.track 2
• Resize to 25% and move one to the left and the other to the right
Diff
• I don't use the blade tool
• I use the Pen tool and change the transparency - then I get fast or slow transitions in same stroke and easy to fine-tune later if needed. (But this can be done with the Roll-tool if Blade is used - so it might be as easy)
Final
• Resize to 100% and Center
Video is done
Audio - very close to this by changing the level so that best audio will dominate
• Pen tool here too
But that's me - the Alchroma way is as good as this or may be better for some

Attempt to play video in timeline causes red and green lines in Canvas

Hi!
When I hit the spacebar in FCP's timeline to play, sometimes I get red and green lines in the Canvas (looks like some wierd color digital interference). If I then hit the spacebar again, the audio will play, but with the same red & green lines. If I then hit it a third time, my video will play fine.
What the heck? Any ideas? This only happens every once in a while.

To be sure you'll need to include some more details, what version of FCP, and your current sequence settings, but I think I could make an honest assessment, right now. Make a note of your sequence settings, then trash your preferences, but make sure that you close final cut, also once preferences are trashed you'll lose sequence settings, and window configurations if you haven't saved them. So be sure to back them up, before trashing preferences.
You can find preference by following these commands:
1.type shift command h - this opens up your home directory
2.open the Library folder //----SPECIAL NOTE Be very careful in this folder do not move or delete any folders in here.----\\
3.open the Preference folder //----SPECIAL NOTE Be very careful in this folder do not move or delete any folders in here.----\\
Now find and delete these 4 files:
1.com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
Navigate to the Final Cut Pro User Data inside the Preference folder and delete the three remaining Final Cut Prefs Files They are as follows:
2.Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs //*This may be 3, or 6 depending on your FCP version.
3.Final Cut Pro Obj Cache
4.Final Cut Pro Prof Cache
Remember do not trash any folders period, nor move anything, delete on those 4 files, and remember once you delete them make sure you trash them from the drive, go to trash empty trash. You'll have to reconfigure any unsaved layout workspaces and system sequence settings.
This Clean system should be done once a year, but only if you notice FCP having problems.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Explain exactly what "it won't work" means. The iPad does not respond at all? Does it turnn on? It is not recognized in iTunes when you connect it to your computer?

I get a problem like yours. I have a mac mini with 2 hdds the server and hd2 I installed windows 7 and the windows works fine. except it will not allow me to get on the net. I get error 651. I can boot back to lion and the internet connection works. I googled and error 651 does seem to show up. I would like a work around.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

Have you tried an alternate browser to see if the same issue happens? Try Firefox or Chrome. Chrome has Flash embedded in it, so if it doesn't work, it's probably not a Flash issue. FIrefox is at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ and Chrome is at https://www.google.com/chrome .
Another thing to try is to sign up for HTML5 video from Youtube. See http://www.youtube.com/html5

The Apple rep tried both those ideas and both failed. The rep was connected to my computer so she
could see my screen and show me exactly what to do. My iPhone (not ipad) never has synced photos to my computer,
I have to use explorer to copy and paste or cut and paste them to my PC . It is the syncing back to my iPhone of only the much smaller selected photos that used to sync in itunes but now the itunes sync button cannot be clicked to make that happen. And the reason I only sync back selected photos is that my total PC pictures file is about 40 Gb. Also I find it a lot more useful to have a small number of folders ( no sub-folders of course) so I can quickly locate on my iPhone pictures from different categories such as family, autos, etc. None of this posed any problems for over a year until just recently. I am reading on other threads of many people with other iTunes syncing problems, and wonder now if it is the latest iTunes updates that are causing the problems? While I have tried removing and reinstalling iTunes on my PC, I don't know how or if you can, install a previous version?
