I am super disappointed with IOS5.0.1 or Iphone 4s?
Why there is some lucky guy that can have usage of stand by 2days plus and usage is more than 8 hours?
and I need to charge my Iphone 4s every 18-19 hours with 4 hours of usage only?
what's wrong with my iphone 4s? When IOS5.0.2 is coming out? Is that sure will solve the battery drain problem?
That is a bit troublesome if the battery is drain too fast, impossible to expect me to bring my charger together wherever i am heading to.
That's not a point to having a Handphone!!
Apple, please solve the problem ASAP.

One of the things to check is to power cycle the phone, turning it off and on. If it still is having an issue, then the next step is to restore the iPhone. Set it up as new, and test the battery life.

I was not aware of the fact one could use ringtones as alarms, this will suffice! Although I foresee some very awkward times as the sound does not stop once I respond to the reminder (it keeps going for good five - ten seconds after I "stop" the reminder), but it's better than missing it altogether!

-Modular747: I don't know anyone who actually reads the terms of service agreement, those things are usually up to thirty, small print pages full of legal jargon. Rules, I do read - not the legal documents (also they often contradict the laws in my country, but that's a whole different story).
I agree with you - the average customer support consultant mostly cares about keeping his job and earning his salary (don't we all?) and thus racking up completted tasks (i.e. getting rid of customers as fast as possible - in a good mood). The "threat" none the less is real, if a cell phone causes me more trouble than it is worth, I will indeed throw it away (I have done so before) - and recommend a different brand to anyone willing to listen.
Don't get me wrong, I love Apple and I've been faithfully using and recommending their producs for twenty years now, not because of fanboyism, but because they earned it. This calendar issue, however, is like a toaster that doesn't automatically eject the toast at the set time. I see it as a major flaw and after googling around a bit I see that it's been around since at least 2007 (THAT'S SEVEN YEARS!!) so I strongly believe they are aware of this problem by now, but are choosing to ignore it for some mysterious reason and it really ****** me off.
I will send the feedback but based on my observations I suspect the Send button is merely a cleverly disguised Delete button.

I'm having major issues with battery life on my iphone 5 . When I'm on 3G my battery on lat 6 hours . But when I'm on edge network I get almost 8 hours usage and full day stand by . That's a. Major difference. But these phones were built for 3G and LTE .

The battery only last 6hrs complete with basic normal usage . I tried all the suggestions and nothing was helping. I finally tried switching off the 3G to EDGE and what a major difference in battery life . My phones last more than a day . I got so far 8 hrs usages And 25 hours standby . But that's phones were created to handle lte and 3 g why is it killing the battery life ?? How can I resolve this issue ?

Thanks for the replies. It took a while not hearing anything so thought I was alone. I have done many of the suggestions already. The key here is that it occurs on both phones with apps, and phones still packaged in a box.
A Genius Bar supervisor also checked his Verizon data usage log and found the same 6 hour incremental use. Suprisingly, he did not express much intrigue over that. Maybe he did, but did not show it.
I think the 6 hour incremental usage is the main issue here. I spoke with Verizon (again) and they confirmed that all they do is log exactly when the phone connected to the tower and used data. The time it records is when the usage started. I also found out that the time recorded is GMT.
What is using data, unsolicited, every 6 hours?

Why does it only happen on the iPhone 5 series and not the 4?
Since no one from Apple seems to be chiming in on this, and I have not received the promised calls from Apple tech support that the Genius Bar staff said I was suppose to receive, it is starting to feel like something is being swept under the rug.
I woke up the other day with another thought ... What application would use such large amounts of data? Well ... music, video, sound and pictures of course. Well ... what would someone set automatically that is of any use to them? hmmm ... video, pictures, sound. Is the iPhone 5 succeptible to snooping? Can an app be buried in the IOS that automatically turns on video and sound recording, and send it somewhere ... every 6 hours? Chilling. I noted that the smallest data usage is during the night when nothing is going on, then it peaks during the day. The Genius Bar tech and I looked at each other when I drew this sine wave graph on the log print outs during an appointment ...

Recently i purchased a 16gb white iphone 3gs. I have not been disappointed with the battery life but i would just like to know how others are comparing to me.
As of the moment, I am getting 4 Hours and 32 Minutes of usage, and 1 day and 11 hours of standby. I am at 3% battery life. Just wanted to know how I stack up to other Iphones. Thanks

O Yeah. I am running OS 3.1. Everything ON but Bluetooth. I can manage about 1 and a half to 2 days of usage out my phone.

I want to save battery life on the new iPod touch 5th Generation, but I cannot find any solutions on the web? Has anyone got any solutions that I could use to extend the battery life?

I assume you mean iOS 6. The only official statement has been that it is coming "later this fall". In the meantime, if you want to mass delete email you can always go to the webmail site for your email account and delete them there.

Sorry to add to the already dense pile of 'when will Verizon issue Cyan/8.1 for my XX phone' threads, but as the owner of a lowly 822, I'm curious if anyone from Verizon posts here, and can deliver something in the way of hard information. I'm not interested in developer previews or other hacks - I just want my phone updated, or to be told "Nope, sorry, not gonna do it."

It's not "hard information" by any means, but when I was talking to rep at local store they said while no specific date had been announced Cyan was supposed to be rolling out in the next couple of weeks. I have been waiting on getting an Icon hoping they would roll it out for the past few months. Hopefully they are for real when saying it is coming in a couple weeks.

I have a big presentation coming up and I'd love to dazzle my crowd with new features in my Keynote presentation. When is iWork '10 coming out????

David, part of the issue is in the way Apple has marketed the Keynote App... none of the product pages mention the major differences in how the iPad version reproduces existing presentations... if anything, one might view the product info as intentionally misleading.
Those of us who make (and have, for years) extensive use of Keynote in, for example, the educational system have dozens if not hundreds of presentations which we continually refine and re-use. It's not a huge leap to expect us to want to make use of these on a smaller, lighter device - indeed, we are encouraged to do so. For these reasons, the Keynote App is quite a disappointment.
Also disappointing is the inability of Keynote App to work in this scenario: you have a presentation prepared on your Mac. You synch it to the iPad to edit and improve while travelling cross-country (plane, train, probably not automobile). You synch it back to your Mac when you arrive. The document is now seriously mangled, not the least of which is the loss of presenter notes. Eek!
But to your point: presentations created ON the Keynote App are certainly going to be useful for many people... just not those of us with many, many pre-existing presentations.

As an aside, the current installed operating system on this old iPhone is 4.2.1, but that wasn't one of the selectable options in the operating system list dropdown below. Don't know if that makes any difference.

Did you purchase this device from Apple or an authorized reseller? It sounds as if you had a device that was jailbroken/hacked to operate on your carrier. Upon updating the iOS, it is now locked back to the original carrier the device was locked to.
Only the carrier the device is locked to can authorize an unlock. You will need to make contact with that carrier and see if they provide unlocking services, and if they do, if you qualify for an unlock. Otherwise, you are out of luck. One that carrier can take care of the unlocking.
