You don't have to be "in" Safari for it to cancel logout.
You have several different Applications open, and any one of them may cancel logout if conditions are just right.
Quit the Applications you are no longer using and your Mac will run better and faster. And it will logout instead of cancelling.

I am running Firefox 3.6.4 in Windows XP. I am using the Scrapbook (not ScrapbookPlus) extension to save web content. I want to edit the saved pages. I click the Scrapbook icon at the bottom right of my screen and put a checkmark next to "Edit Toolbar." Alas, no toolbar appears. Same result when I check "Edit Toolbar." when I tried to update to the new version of Itunes - message box appears "APSDAEMON.EXE MSVCR80.DLL is missing". Then another box indicates "Error 7 (Windows error 126)". Itunes will not start. Can someone tell me what the problem is and how to fix?

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List. -

I tried downloading iTunes to my computer. It gives me an error where it says can not find iTunes Helper. I uninstalled all iTunes, restarted my computer, and then tried again. I keep getting the same error everyime. What can I do?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.

The trick is simply reboot the TC..
Or on Lion use the 5.6 utility and disconnect all users.

Safari comes with the Apple website pre-defined, so if you want to use it as the homepage for Safari, open Safari menu > Preferences > General, and type "http://www.apple.com" (without quotes) on the homepage box. Then, close the Preferences window and Safari will be set up with this page

The Mac cannot find the hard drive or a valid boot folder.
You can try to reboot with Command and R and hold down until you see recovery partition. Launch that and then in the menu bar at the top look for Disk Utilities. Run that and see what it says when you scan your hard drive,
Any errors there are bad. If it can't even read the drive that is worse.
I suspect with the ? issue you will be reformatting and reinstalling OS X after getting a new hard drive. -

After you restore from backup, you MUST sync to restore your iTunes content. No iTunes content is included in the iPhone backup. Your apps should be in your iTunes library, just sync them back to your phone. If for some reason your apps are not in your library, you can re-download them for free:

I think as drive capacities increase, the old 10-15% becomes less accurate. The amount of free space you need doesn't really have anything to do with the drive size. So, increasing your drive size shouldn't mean that you need to have more free GB (which using a % of drive space would mean). You need free space to accommodate page outs (the amount of which would depend on how much RAM you have installed and how memory intensive the applications are), sleep images (again, this would max out at your total amount of RAM), and a bit to minimize fragmentation.
With desktop drives commonly in the 2TB range today, it is certainly not necessary to have 200GB+ free in order to maintain proper operation. I generally find about 30GB to be the minimum I'm comfortable with. Mind you, I pretty much always have way more than that available. But, if I'm working on a system and the amount of free space is at least 30GB, I would generally not site drive space as the cause of any performance issues. I'd say that 30GB is a minimum for a stable system (with 8GB or RAM installed). Of course at that amount, you would still need to free up space if you were to want to install or download any significant amount of data.
With servers being more likely to run into the 16GB of RAM range, more storage would be necessary. Most servers should be well stocked with storage, but the actual needs would vary greatly depending on what's being "served".
The 10-15% thing came about when we used to talk about drive capacities in hundreds of MBs and RAM in terms of KB (not MB and certainly not GB). More drive space is always a good thing, but as drive capacities continue to sky rocket, we don't need to dedicate larger amounts of storage on systems with the same specifications. A set amount of space is required for proper operation regardless of the capacity of the drive installed. -

I have an apple tv 1st generation, and there is a setting for airtunes. can someone tell me what this is and how to use it?
I've looked at that, but on my PC, "look for remote speakers connected with airtunes" isn't an option.
The only options I get are "prevent ipods [etc] from syncing automatically" , "warn me when [X %] of the data on this computer will be changed" and "forget all remotes". Its also got a list of backups I have saved, as well as a button to reset sync history.
When I am playing a song, the "airplay" button isn't even visible.
I am sure that the apple tv setting is on as well. Is there anything else you can help me with? -

THanksCan't address the problem directly, cause even though my iPad4 is Cell+Wi-Fi, I've never put a SIM in it and never had the need to text, SMS or iMessage, from it. When away from the office or home wireless network, I tether it off the iPhone. Skype, both text and video, work just fine thru the Wi-Fi link, though.
HOWEVER, when I was hashing out the contract details to get the iPhone 5 about 14 months ago at Telcel, the representative distinctly mentioned that both Visual Voicemail as well as iMessages would be included in the package and they would be mandatory cause "I was getting a (subsidized) Apple iPhone" on a 24 month leash. Then when the gizmo came out of its box for SIM installation and activation, she went thru the motions of making sure both were working properly. So I assume the carrier has some say in the matter. -
