Where Can I Point My Bus Areas, folders, etc.

I haven't gotten fancy on pointing folders to different database and schemas before, so let me ask a question on what I think I can do.
Can I have a folder in a business area point to database D1, schema S1, database view V1 and another folder in a business area point to database D2, schema S2, database view V2?
In otherwords, I have usually created a business area - say: accounting. That business area may have 4 accounting types of folders (ie: gl, ar, ap, oe) and usually, each folder could be pointing to a different schema in the same database (ie: oracle apps, schemas gl, ar, ap, oe) but database if prod.
Instead, could those folders each point to an entirely different database, with different schemas and a table in the schema?
In fact, if that's true, then could the same tablename, in the same schema name for 4 different database be used with no problems?
ie:
database1 = prod, schema = gl, table = gl_budgets
database2 = dev, schema = gl, table = gl_budgets
database3 = test, schema = gl, table = gl_budgets
database4 = hack, schema = gl, table = gl_budgets
All that would be required would be for the Disco EUL owner to have SELECT rights on each of those 4 tables in the different databases?
Thx.
Just something I haven't had to do before, but getting a request now for.
Russ

Hi Russ,
But in addition, is it possible to have bus area 1, folder 1 point to database, schema and table, while folder 2 (in same business area) point to a different database, schema and table? No Problems. When creating a new folder, you have an LOV for the database (normally set at default database).
Alternatively, you can create database views in your default database and the views are dblinked to anther database.
Regards,
John

  • Where can I find out which areas in London Actuall...

Where can I find out which areas in London Actually have got the Fibre Optics promised last year? I have tried with bt and on the net but cant actually find anything that would tell me where the elusive fibre optics are. I am being asked all the time for a postcode and if I knew that I would be living there.

The problem you're going to have, is not only finding where it's available but also if there are any connections still available in the local cabinet. I'm in London, in a slow-spot (500kpbs) for normal broadband, and when the engineer did my Infinity install last Friday he told me that I got one of the last connections available (they only put in a 100, based apparently on take-up in other areas, never mind that given the speed round here over the copper wire, a lot of people are going to want Infinity...)

  • Simlinks | Can they point to network account folders (iMovie related)?

Hi everyone. First time posting here, so please be kind. I've done some searches regarding simlinks, and as best as I can tell they are the best solution for changing iMovies default folder. As we already know iMovie 09 only saves to the user account's 'movies' folder, and there really isn't a way around changing the location of this folder through any kind of preference feature in iMovie. So I'm looking at possibly using a simlink. I've never used one before, but I think I can figure it out. Here's my question:
I'm running a lab of Aluminum iMacs, in which my students log in with Network based accounts housed on an x-raid server. I've set up my students so all their work automatically saves to their home folders on the server, and they have no access to the local machine's hard drive. Everything is working great, except for iMovie. I've been reading threads on how people have set up simlinks to point to NAS drives, or an external HD, but nothing about pointing to the home folders of network based accounts. What I would like to do is set up a simlink so when iMovie saves to the iMovie events folder it redirects the save to a users 'movie' folder on their network account. Is this possible? If it is, is it possible to the same folder point to some kind of generic path so it will work on multiple users? Or is there another simpler solution that I'm missing?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    Hi
On the mac clients you would use Directory Utility (for 10.4) or Directory Access (10.5), they are located in the same place /Applications/Utilities. Launch the application, click the lock to authenticate using the local admin account details and then use the Active Directory plug-in to 'bind' the mac client to the AD Server. Its all laid out in front of you if you click 'Show Advanced Options' button. There is not really much to do on the mac client side other than to make sure you use the correct Kerberos Realm name as well as an AD account that has authority for the domain. Pretty much how well this works is all down to how well the AD is configured. Ideally internal DNS services should not be based around .local. This link will tell you why as well as how to make it work using .local.

  • TS3992 where can i view pictures that are stored in icloud

where can i view photos stored in icloud and how do I delete some of them

There are two iCloud Photo areas: My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Stream.  Here is the info on both.
iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
How do I delete photos from My Photo Stream?
You can delete photos from your photo stream the same way you delete other photos from your iOS device or Mac. Just select the photos you want to remove, then tap the trash icon or click Delete. On your PC, select the photos you want to remove from your photo stream, right-click, then select delete. When you delete a photo from My Photo Stream on one device, iCloud will automatically delete it from the My Photo Stream album or view on your other devices. Learn more about deleting photos.
iCloud: Shared Photo Streams FAQ - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5903
How do I delete photos from a shared stream?
If you are the owner of a shared stream, you can delete photos from the stream in the same way you delete any other photos from your iOS device, Mac, or Windows PC.  The photos will be automatically deleted from the stream on all your devices and the devices of anyone subscribed to the stream. Any photos that were previously saved or downloaded from the shared stream to another location, such as the Camera Roll, will not be deleted from that location. • Can we copy standard buisness area folders to customise business area folde

    hai,
I want to copy standard business area folders to customise
business area folders. How I have to link AP_PO_INV and how many folders
i will get in customise business from ap,po and inv.what are they.
    Thanks

    Hi,
As Russ says, yes you can take the supplied folders and copy these into your own custom Business Area - then add or subtract to them as much as you like.
How you join them will depend on your APPS set up - assuming that the joins supplied by Oracle do not fit your purpose.
You can also join your own simple/custom folders to these standard folders - again this depends on what you want to report and how you have set up your APPS (use of DFFs, custom tables etc)

  • HT4890 Where can I check which devices are receiving iCloud information (photos, notes, etc.)?

I conceive iCloud as a virtual HD from which my devices can access data and, more, which will share same info. between all registered devices. I use MacBook Pro, Iphone 4s and iPad and they are not the same. What do I do? Where can I check wich devices, and what applications are supposed to be shared? Thank you in advance.

Be sure you devices are sign into the same iCloud account, then turn the data you would like to sync with iCloud to On.  These settings on your iPhone and iPad are in Settings>iCloud.  On your Mac, they are in System Preferences>iCloud.  This guide explains how to set this up: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/.
Also, if all your devices are signed into the same iCloud account, any data they sync with the account (such as contacts and calendars) will be merged with the data from other devices using the account and the merged data will appear on all connected devices.

  • New user can't see old bus. areas in Admin Version

    Hello,
I created a business area in the admin version with my old Oracle user id. I have a new Oracle user id. When logging on with the new userid to the admin version, I can't see this business area.
Yes, I added access to both admin, and end-user to the new user within discoverer
Yes, I added this business area to the new user within discoverer.
Is it a DB issue not having "create procedure" or something like it for the new user?
    thnx
    Endre

When adding a business area to a new oracle login, you also need to check the 'Allow Administration' checkbox for that business area. I'm guessing that is what's missing.

  • Own OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. MSOffice 2004 was taken out because of computer repair and now can't find disc to reinstall. But WANT the Office 2004, not Office 2011. Where can I find one and are all Officew 2004 the same

I own a OSX 10.6.8. IMAC with Snow Leopard. my MSWORD Office 2004 was taken off when computer was repaired and now can't find the disc to reinstall. Do not want the Office2011.. Where do I find the Office 2004 and are all Office 2004 choices the smae.

Hi Martha - Amazon offers office 2004 on their website.
    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-2004-Standard-VERSION/dp/B0001WN0M2
That will be your best bet if you want to have office 2004 on your computer. Also, there are some different versions want to come to office. The link above gives you the standard version, but there's also the professional version. Now it sounds like that you do not want to upgrade to the latest office because you're most likely comfortable with how 2004 works. So in that case I would not spend the extra money and pay for the professional version unless you really need it. I see on the website there that if you buy a used copy it will only cost you around $10.
    Hope this helps!

  • I can see my pictures, there are folders but they are empty

    I can't see my pictures...

    Thanks for sharing
Do you think it is possible that you could provide any more information (you certainly could not provide less)
Try starting wtih the version of iPhoto and of the OS and exactly what you are trying to do and what you are  talking about (folders in iPhoto do not contain photos - folders contain albums or other folders)
Remeber we can not see you or your computer and know nothing exept what you tell us - and we only have words to communicate with so using them correctly is critical

  • Where can i see what photos are stored on icloud

Hi i have lost some photo's from my computers hard drive!!!! arrrgh! the photo's were taken with my old iphone and orginally shared on my icloud account! How can i see what my icloud is storing????
    HELP PLEASE!!!!

Photo stream photos can only been seen on devices connected to your photo stream, not on icloud.com.  Also, be aware that photos are only kept in photo stream for 30 days.  After that they are removed from photo stream but will remain on any device that has already received them.  In other words, if the photos you are looking for are older than 30 days they won't be in photo stream any longer.  They would only be in the photo stream album of a device that has already received these older photos from photo stream.
The only other place iCloud stores photos is in a device backup.  If your old phone was backed up to iCloud and if the backup is still in iCloud, the backup should contain the photos.  However, the ony way to acces them would be to restore a device to the entire backup, including all its data, not just the photos.
Finally, if you backed up your old phone to your computer by syncing it with iTunes, this backup would also include camera roll photos.  If the backup is on your computer you can use 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor to extract the photos from this backup and avoid having to restore the entire backup to another device to access them.

  • Where can I find apps which are compatible with original iphone?

All the apps even twitter and facebook apps on app store say it requires a ios4. Could someone tell me where I can find apps for original iphone

See the response by PC1234 at https://discussions.apple.com/message/19298842#19298842 to see some techniques for doing this with a Google search.  You would need to replace the 3.1 with the version of iOs that your original iPhone is using.  Your version number can be found under Settings:General:About:Version on your iPhone.

  • Where can I see what devices are connected to my Airport Extreme?

I just switched from a Belkin wireless-g router to the Airport Extreme (802.11n). With my Belkin router, when I entered the address "192.168.2.1", I was taken to a menu where, among other things, I could view all connected devices. How do I do that with my new Airport Extreme? Thanks!

Hi David, welcome to the discussions!
You will have to dig a bit for the info, but it is there.
    Open AirPort Utility
Click on Manual Setup near the bottom of the pane
Click on the gear shaped Advanced icon at top of the window.
    Click on Logs and Statistics
Then click Wireless Clients or DHCP Clients to see who is connected.
