Where do I find older versions of quicktime?

I need Quicktime 7.0.4 or 7.1.0. I won't go into to much explination except to say that I have some applications that don't work with earlier versions and some applicatons that will not work with later versions.

I think one of those versions can be found HERE.

  • My laptop died. I've dusted off my old iMac running OSX 10.2.8 and want to upgrade firefox to 3.5 or 3.6. Looks like I can't do that - where would I find older versions of firefox to update to?

My now dead laptop was running Firefox 3.6. It died. Now I have my old iMac out of storage. It has Firefox 2.0.0.1 on it. I'm using it now. Check for updates says I can go as high as 2.0.0.20. I'd like to upgrade the iMac to the most current operating system it can work with (right now it's at OSX 10.2.8), and then get Firefox up to the most current version this can run. I tried searching for older firefox versions to download, but can't seem to find them on your website. (I used search term "download Firefox 3.5"). I did this to check and see what OSX version they can work with. Let me know what I need to do. Thanks!

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever release for Mac OSX 10.3.9 and earlier versions. <br />Get it here: <br />

  • Where can I find older versions of Mail for Exchan...

Mail for exchange was unable to start up on my E71 phone so I removed it and installed the updated 3.0.50 version from OVI store. However, from some reason, this is not working with our exchange server - right after connecting I get the "System error, try again later" message. I found 2.07 version somewhere in the Internet and it is partially working. Any idea where can I download the original version that I had (2.09.176)?
I also tried to sync mails only (no calendar/tasks) and this isn't working as well

I got the answer that you can not.

  • The older version of QuickTime cannot be removed

While attempting to install iTunes on my computer:
The older version of QuickTime cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.
The installation of QuickTime did not complete successfully. iTunes requires QuickTime.
Unfortunately, my iPod Touch rather requires iTunes...

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • "the older version of quicktime cannot be removed. Contact your technical s

I keep getting an error "the older version of quicktime cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group." No I have removed all od copies of Quick time and used Windows Install Clean Up and tried to repair Quick Time and stil can not install the latest version. Plus now Itunes is not working. Any thoughts.

The problem with reinstalls or upgrades saying a previous version is installed when one isn't sounds familiar. I couldn't get 7.2 to install correctly, so I tried reinstalling 7.1.5. Received an error message saying I couldn't because a newer version was already installed. I tried using the Windows Uninstaller Cleaner someone here posted a link for to solve the problem. I found an entry for 7.1.5 with no application name (which it should have)and deleted it, but that still didn't solve the problem. What I found interesting was that I edited the registry to remove all references to QT (and there are hundreds of them). That still didn't solved the problem. I would like to know where it gets that info about what's been installed previously. It just occurred to me that they may have planted a cookie. I'll check. If you find out where the info on previous installs is hidden post it.

  • Older version of Quicktime won't uninstall - can't install newer version

I am trying to install iTunes 7.5 and Quicktime 7.1 on computer. Keep getting error that older version of Quicktime cannot be uninstalled. Have tried "add/remove" software function on Windows XP; have also tried to manually delete the files. Still get the same answer! Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

+The message I am getting says enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'Quicktime.msi'. I have searched for this file and I do not have it on my computer.+
Typically, when you get those sorts of messages (in conjunction with the "cannot uninstall program" message), there's a problem with the installation configuration information for the existing version of QuickTime on the PC.
So let's try the following procedure.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Now launch Windows Installer CleanUp ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"), find any QuickTime entries in the list of programs in CleanUp, select those QuickTime entries, and click “remove”.
Next, we'll manually remove any leftover iTunes or QuickTime program files:
    (1) Open Local Disk (C:) in Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    (2) Open the Program Files folder.
    (3) Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    (4) Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder. Click Continue if Windows needs confirmation or permission to continue.
    (5) Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    (6) Restart your computer.
Now try another QuickTime install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Is it possible to download an older version of quicktime?

I tried dowloading an older version of quicktime (6.5) since I don't have windows XP or Vista. But I get an error message saying that the internet explorer cannot find the site. But my browser is able to get to the apple site to download it. Is it possible that since the only version of quicktime that I can download is the current version?

There are various sites available that list old versions of software, such as http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=quicktime although I cannot vouch for the legalities of them all.
I did a search for "old software quicktime" in google

  • Error 1714. The older version of QuickTime cannot be removed. - Fix

I ran into this problem when I was installing the latest version of i-Tunes. Because i-Tunes requires QuickTime I researched for hours. I couldn't un-install QuickTime, it wasn't showing up in a software list to uninstall. I used Regedit to remove all of the "QuickTime" entries in the registry. Restarted my computer, still no luck.
One thing that I did I ran the Quickertime installer from a DOS prompt and added /le file.txt
This creates a log file with all the error during the installation.
This gave me the follow error in the file:
    === Logging started: 12/30/2006 17:29:18 ===
Error 1714. The older version of QuickTime cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group. System Error 1610.
    === Logging stopped: 12/30/2006 17:29:31 ===
Again this is what I to searched for the errors with on luck.
I ran the Quicktime installer again, this time I used the /l* file2.txt. This logs everything during the installation.
I searched this file for where the errors were and found this:
    RemoveExistingProducts: Application: {50D8FFDD-90CD-4859-841F-AA1961C7767A}, Command line: UPGRADINGPRODUCTCODE={F07B861C-72B9-40A4-8B1A-AAED4C06A7E8} REMOVE=ALL

Then in the registry removed the entry 50D8FFDD-90CD-4859-841F-AA1961C7767A in the HKLM\Software\Classes\Installer\Products directory.
!!!!Make a backup of your registry if you are unfamiliar with regedit.

Thank you so much for this solution! I spent hours trying to figure it out myself and by following your steps I got it working! My numbers were different but I was able to figure out which one I needed to delete. Thank you once again!

  • How do I down grade to an older version of QuickTime Player on My Macbook Pro?

I am taking a University course online and it requires that I watch videos online. When I try to watch the videos they don't play and when I emailed the school about it they told me I need to download an older version of QuickTime. I currently have the most updated version of QT and when I try to put it in the trash it says that I can't delete QuickTime. I went to the apple support site and there are options for downloading different versions of QT but when I try to download them the computer tells me I can't because I have the most updated version and my computer does not support the older versions. How do I download an older version in order to play these videos online?

    http://sb2.athabascau.ca/course/COMM277/COMM277v1/MasteringManagement/MasteringM anagement/TOC.html
There is the URL for the website that I am trying to use. I needed to sign in to my course website in order to access this page though so it may not allow you to view it. The website is called "Mastering Management" and the any of the introductory videos on the web page are the ones that I am trying to view. When I check the FAQ's on the website they said that I need QuickTime to watch the videos but I have the most upgraded version of QuickTime and that is the problem.

  • ITunes/Quicktime problem "The older version of Quicktime cannot be removed"

Whenever I try installing iTunes 7, I get the message "The older version of Quicktime cannot be removed." A similar problem with the same wording similarly cropped when I downloaded iTunes 6.
Source of the problem is a failed System Restore which left files corrupted and such, I've tried using ccCleaner to remove iTunes and Quicktime from the registry but it simply isn't there, as is the case when I use regedit in Run.
Add/Remove Programs doesn't work as well, when I click on uninstall for iTunes/iPod/Quicktime there just isn't any response or window that pops up
    Any help?

okay, let's try the technique from the following post. (it includes instructions on what to do if Add/Remove isn't working for a program.)

(the link in there to the itunes 7.0.1.8 installer now leads to a 7.0.2.16 installer. no cause for concern, use the 7.0.2.16.)

Where do I find what version of iTunes I have on my iPad?

If you have the current version of iOS (i.e. 5.1.1, Settings > General > About > Version) then iTunes is up-to-date - you can only update the built-in apps via iOS updates, so if you have the current version of iOS then all your built-in apps are up-to-date.

  • Older versions of quicktime

    Hi...any help is greatly appreciated!
I have Windows XP. I have a program that needs an older version of quicktime. It needs to have 6.3 or earlier. I have found downloads of 6.3, 6.0 and other early versions. Problem is that when I download and then run them, I get automatically put into a new installer towards the end. It then installs 6.5 automatically and I cant stop it and continue the earlier version install. Does this make sense??? Any ideas????
    Thanks!
    froggirl

The true irony is that anything you can view in 6.3 can still be viewed in version 7.
The "warning" comes from the game as it "reads" your installed version and, if it isn't 6.3, doesn't allow the game to run.
Similar issues on CD games that use QuickTime. Most of them try to use the QuickTime version included with the game while others use your installed version. When the version numbers do not match (version 4 and higher for example while you have 7 installed) the software doesn't have a clue about version 7 and errors out.
