Where do I suppress Bex Query Message

Experts -
My users are getting an error message on their Bex Query "Characteristic xxxxx was changed in InfoCube xxxxx. Adjust the query".
I searched SDN and I found out that if you go to TCODE RSRT and then TCODE SUPPR_ALL, you can then suppress the message globally.  Well, this above message is not found anywhere in TCODE SUPPR_ALL.
I then found out that if you go to TCODE SE91, you can find your message there. I did...its Message #651.  But, how do suppress this message from ever showing up on the users BEX Query?
Thanks!!

Suresh -
"Go to RSRT -- give the query name click on the messages tab and try to supress there."
Result:  I did this too and I dont see message #651 for my specific query
"In Bex tool bar click the last but one icon. There you can suppress warnings from the server"
Result:  what Bex tool bar?  I am using the portal to display this report.

  • Suppressing BEx Analyzer messages

    Dear all,
I would like to suppress SAP BEx Analyzer messages (In BW 3.5). I know that the in the BEx you can use the setting suppress warnings, but is the also a way to control this from the back-end?
Be aware the messages are Analyzer messages not query messages. So RSRT setting won't help.
I've looked at the blog How To Suppress Messages Generated by BW Queries from Marc Bernardbut this is not the solution
    Suggestions are welcome.
    many thanks
    Rob

    Hi there,
    No they don't.
Maybe we're not talking about the same how to. Here it is:
In this how to, you're supressing in the back-end a particular message that is not in the RSRT for all the users or all the options when this message appears.

  • Where-Used list for BEx query chars & KFs

Hello everyone.  I am trying to find a way to identify what Characteristics and Key Figures are used withing an infocube in BW.  I think that the BW Statistics cubes may help, but that was going to be my fallback option.
I couldn't find a way to do a where-used list for characteristic and key figures when in the Query Designer.  I can do a where-used on restricted key figures and char. variables.
Does anyone know of other ways to do this.  How about looking in some of the core BW DB Tables (eg. RS*)?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

Oh my, I just realized that I typed in my question wrong.  I am sorry.  That's what I get for doing this during a long meeting!
Here's the right question (I double-checked this time):
I am trying to find what queries contain some specific chars & KFs.
So you are exactly right that the previous suggestion for using RSD1 would work to find what infocubes they are used in.
    Sorry for the confusion.

  • Error message when connecting to Bex Query in WebI

    Hi all,
I've a Bex Query and I created a universe on top of that Query. I selected few characteristics and one keyfigure in WebI to build a report. When I ran the query I'm getting a error message as below :
A database error occured. The database error text is: Failed to execute MDX Query. Reason : Error occured when starting the parser: timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'. (WIS 10901)

  • Hierarchy: How to suppress duplicated/repeated rows in a BEx query

    Hi Gurus.
I have a BEx query which displays data based on a Cost Element hierarchy.  When the hierarchy is expanded to leaf level (or any level), all key figures and characteristics are displayed for the leaf level but are also repeated throughout all the levels above.
Is it possible to suppress the repeated rows in higher levels of the hierarchy and display a summary result only?
The issue we have is that if the user wishes to export or save a workbook, they will have to filter and manipulate the report a great deal which is impractical.
I'm hoping it's a simple setting that I've missed.  I look forward to receiving the magic answer!! :o)
    Thanks,
    Angela

    Hi All,
I've been playing around a bit more and found a setting which I hope my users will find acceptable:
From the query - Query properties -> Data Formatting tab - Multidimensional View -> select Display Rows hierarchically and expand to (chosen characteristic)
Can anyone tell me if I can set this as a default setting in the query designer, or will I need to create a view to save the setting?
    Thanks all,
    Angela

  • Removing or Suppressing 0DAT SAP Exit from BEx Query

    Hi,
I have a BEx Query on a MultiProvider. The Multiprovider is based on two Cubes. Iam facing a problem with the 0DAT Characteristic Variable on 0CALDAY. Although I dont use the 0CALDAY in my query, this SAP Exit Variable pops-up when I run the query. How do I remove or atleast suppress it from popping-up?
I tried the 'Save & Reuse Varibale Values' options from the Query Properties Dialog Box. Although this works but I want to use one more Customer Exit Characteristic Variable on 0CALDAY & this variable is also getting resued because of the setting I made for 0DAT. I want this variable to pop-up and the 0DAT variable to be removed completely(or atleast suppressed).
Would also like to know why 0DAT Variable is popping-up even when I dont use 0CALDAY at all....
    Thanks in advance,

  • Creating Restrictions in BEx query designer for (1-a), where a is variable.

    Dear All,
    >>  Suppose for the variable in the BEx query designer, I've created restriction for 0FISCPER to the variable 0P_PER (as 0P_PER-1) by right clicking 0P_PER3, from that a dialog box appears.  In that I've selected 0P_PER3 and then clicked on offset variable and when I set the offset variable, it works for (0P_PER-1.etc, 0P_PER+1,etc..)
But if I want to have (1-0P_PER), then plz tell me how to define this restriction?
Plz explain me the steps to perform (1-0P_PER) restriction in BEx query designer in BW1.
I'm using SAP BI 7.2 gui.
    Expecting your reply soon,
    with Regards,
    Jerald

My requirement is that I want to have " 1-fiscal year"., But this I could not define using offset variables, since using offset we can define "fiscal year +1" or "fiscal year -1".
So there would be some other way to define "1-fiscalyear".  So Please help me to define "1-fiscalyear"  by giving me the steps.
    Thank you,

  • Hierarchy Node Suppression in a BeX Query

    Hi,
We haev a hierarchy with 3 levels
Level 1  (Root) - Customer Hierarchy
    Level 2 - Customer Groups
    Level 3 - Customer Number
Is it possible to display the Customer Groups (level 2) without displaying the Root Node (level 1)  in a BeX query. If we Expand to  level 2 , the query displays both level 1 &  level 2. We have a requirement to see level 2 only. Is that possible?
If anyone has done this, would really appreciate if you can respond.
    Thanks,
    Anita

    Hi Anita,
I am sure that as you have created hierarchy for Customer Number, you have to have customer group as its attribute. Dont you have that?
And if you have your transcational data, you will have them posted against customer number.
you must have Customer Number in the query already and that is the reason you could enable its hierarchy.
My suggestion was to make Customer group as navigational attribute and add them into InfoProvider. You dont have relaod the data again for this.
Moreover, Once you have customer group as navigational attribute, disable the hierarchy for customer number and in your query designer under ROW put Customer Group and Customer Number as two seperate characteristics.
This will elminiate ROOT from the result and you will have customer group and Customer number in the result.
Here the only difference is, instead of showing Customer Number below Customer group, it will be dispalyed in the next column.

  • Error while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query

The following error is coming while trying to retrieve data from BW BEx query (on ODS) when the Characters are more than 50.
In BEx report there is a limitation but is it also a limitation in Webi report.

    Hi,
That warning / error message will be coming from the MDX interface on the BW server.  It does not originate from BOBJ.
This question would be better asked to support component BW-BEX-OT-MDX

  • Designer support for Subquery against SAP BW Bex Query

BusinessObjects designer has an option in the paramaters window to turn on "Allow Sub-Queries" in a universe that has been created using a olap source.  SAP BW BEX Query to be specific.  Once turned on, you can build a query and the subquery button and functionality is actually enabled and allows you to build it.  When running the query I get an error message "A filter contains a wrong value. You cannot run this query".
Now, I am pretty sure this functionality is not supported on a BW or OLAP source but, I can not find anything definitive from SAP stating that it is not supoorted.  So I want to make sure that this is not one of those situations where everyone just says "It's not supported" but really just doesn't know.  Does anyone have the official word or link to an SAP statement that this functionality is officially not supported.

What I would say is, it won't support. The reason could be, as its not support any structure view in universe designer, that means we cannot create any derived tables where we could use sql query.
I believe the same applies  here too. Even if you look at LOV defintions in universe, it won't show any query.
So the same applies to reports.
    Hope this helps.

  • Calculated Key Figures Corrupted in a BEX Query

    Hello SDN's,
We are facing an weird issue in BEX Query. As part of Enhancing the query, We have created a new CKF and added in the Columns for the required CKF. It prompted for a Transport request and saved the Query elements for more than hour. Now the Query is throwing an Error messages where in more than some 30 CKF's got corrupted. When i check the CKF definition for all the corrupted key figures there is not Formula or Calculation.
Below is the message which we can see in the BEX query for Corrupted Calculate Key Figure.
    Diagnosis
Element ' XXX ' cannot be analyzed by the analytic engine without a definition.
    System Response
Without a valid definition, the element will be ignored by the analytic engine.
    Procedure
Provide a valid definition for element 'XXX'.
Could anyone please help me to retrieve query back to normal ???. Your are inputs are appreciated
    Thanks,
    HA

yo could try rsrt in bw and try to regenrate the query thats all i got. .otherwise always make a copy before you start working on a query. if it still is coruupted then you will have to recrate it. if the query is in your bwq maybe the basis can do a transport( not recomended)back. good luck..

  • Crystal reports 2013 , SAP MDX Driver not able to connect with BW BEX Query

    Hi All,
We just installed Crystal 2013, and want to create crystal report on SAP BW CUBE/BEX Query through SAP MDX Driver.
1.When start connecting through SAP MDX Query option from new connection , SAP Systems which are in SAPLOGON are not appearing in initial screen. where as from OLAP Connection we are able to connect to SAP BEX Query.
2.Even from SAP Tool kit we are not able to connect to BEX query, we are getting ERROR MESSAGE.
and we are using SAP BI BO PLATFORM 4.1 sp01 .
Please suggest me , if I am missing any configuration settings.
    Regards,
    Joseph

    Hi Joseph,
Before you start building the report, make sure the right transports have been loaded on the SAP System. The right Transport files are the ones found inside the installation zip you download from SAP's server. They're under the "Collaterals\Add-Ons\SAP\Transports" folder.
For more info on Transports, authorizations etc, please have your BASIS admin go through this wiki:
Crystal Reports 2008 and BW - Installation and Configuration - Business Intelligence (BusinessObjects) - SCN Wiki
To resolve your first issue, please follow the steps from this thread:
Problems with SAPLogon.ini for SAP GUI and Crystal 2011
P.S: Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.1 does a better job at handling BEx queries that the CR 2013 designer. It directly connects to BEx queries via the BICS connectivity driver and doesn't need the Transports to be there on the SAP System. You might want to give this flavour of CR a try too.
