Where does my logs go

I configured log4j with console appender , now to check logs where in weblogic can I see my logs ?

Look for your logs in
$DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<servername>/logs/<servername>.log
Also, you need to configure you server to redirect stdout logging enabled
You can do this under, Server->Logging->General->Advanced->Redirect stdout logging enabled

    Thanks Terry,
    Sorry, I should have mentioned that I am using WL6.0.
    Does anyone know what I need to do to get the RDBMS Realm log to start on
    WL6.0.
    About the missing JavaDocs: Also, if I am doing development using these
    classes I still do not
    understand why they are not on the 6.0 refernce site!
    About the missing JavaDocs,
    I see java docs for a lot of classes, but what document do I use that
    helps me to understand the entire framework? The Programming
    Weblogic Security does give this information.
    Example question: how do I get a reference to the realm to create
    users? Should I even be doing this?
    Thanks for your help.

    If you are using WLS5.1 you much set the property
    weblogic.security.realm.debug=true
    then this information will be sent to stdout. This is set to false by
    default, as there is a lot of information, and it is a big performance
    hit.
    I think weblogic likes to avoid some of its APIs being public, which is
    annoying at times, but probably reasonable

  • Where does Flex log Trace statements?

    I have no problem logging the trace statements when i run the application as standalone from flex builder.
    I deployed the same application in the Weblogic server. Where does Flex compiler log Trace statements when deployed to application server?
    Is there anyother way to log the statements?

    Trace statements end up on the client that is running the browser

    Hi,
      By default, if the setting has been done, then it appears in defaultTrace as mentioned. For configuration of it, refer to this link.

  • Where does NWAS log file resides

    Hello friends,
    Can anybody tell the location of NetWeaver log file, that contains runtime exception and other information regarding execution of J2EE project.
    I am using SAP NAWAS 7.10
    Thank you

    Hi,
    the default trace files present in the cluster folder are very useful.
    c:\usr\sap\sid\JC<XX>\j2ee\cluster
    inside this you have dispatcher and server nodes. under each such folder you have the log files. These log files contain the trace files. dispatcher\log will contain how he dispatcher is going to look for the server nodes.
    server\log will contain the real time problem.

    regards
    Muh.Usman

    The TimesTen daemon message logs are located in the daemon home directory which by default is <tt_install_dir>/info but can be changed to another location at install time.
    A datastore's transaction log files are located by default in the same diredctory as the checkpoint files (specified by the DSN attribute Datastore) but can be placed eslewhere using the DSN attribute LogDir.
    Again, this is all covered in the documentation. With all due respect, this forum is not intended to be a substitute for reading the comprehensive and well written documentation.

  • Where does system out or log statements go in ISA-CRM?

    We have added some system out print and log.error statments in a new java class file.
    Can anybody tell where does these statements go, I mean to which log file. I was hoping defaultTrace.0.log, but could n't find.
    We are using CRM/ISA b2b.
    Thanks in advance.

    Mark,
       Here the steps for session trace:
    1. logon to the XCM administrator
    http://mycompnay.com:50000/b2b/admin/xcm/init.do
    2. Go to General Settings->Customer->b2b->b2bconfig.
    3. In the right side frame select true as the value of the parameter logfiledownload.
    4. open URL http://mycompnay.com:50000/b2b/admin
    5. Click on logging - > session tracing
    6. you will see a partial URL in the next jsp page inside a text field. complete this URL for eg.
    http://mycompnay.com:50000/b2b/b2b/init.do
    7. Click start application. This will bring up the logon page in a separate browser window.
    8. In the previous window click Start Session Tracing.
    This will create two hyperlinks with a long name begining with session appended by the date and session ID.
    9. Move to the new window where logon.jsp was started and execute whatever steps necessary in the B2B application till you execute the code segments containing your log entries.
    10. Come back to the previous window and click on the hyperlink for the logfile under the caption "download"
    This will open the session log file as a zip -> text document and you can search for your log entries there.
    Thx,
    Bharat.

  • Where does portal store the username after a successful log in?

    We have an intranet application, we use the portal security and login screen, etc.
    I have written a stored procedure which requires two parameters. One of them we already have at the time we need to call it. The other is username. All we need
    to know is how to get the username at the time we must call it. Where does portal store the username after a successful log in for the particular session this user is logged into?
    I tried using the following syntax,
    When i log in using PORTAL30 then it returns,
    SQL> select portal30.wwctx_api.get_user()
    2 from dual;
    PORTAL30.WWCTX_API.GET_USER()
    PORTAL30
    But when i logged in using some other user i.e.rtemps it returns,
    SQL> connect rtemps@mpdb
    Enter password: *******
    Connected.
    SQL> select portal30.wwctx_api.get_user()
    2 from dual;
    PORTAL30.WWCTX_API.GET_USER()
    PUBLIC
    Why does it return PUBLIC, instead of RTEMPS?
    rtemps is a Database user though.
    How do i test this script for portal users?
    Also my application is a multiple user application.
    So at a given time, there could be more than user logged in, also there could be more than one sessions of the same user logged in.
    what happens in that scenario?
    Thank you,
    Kalpa

    still not working..
    The first page my user goes to log in, is
    http://159.225.218.59/pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.draw_custom_login_page
    when i look at this stored procedure, it makes a call to the following procedure,
    PORTAL30_SSO.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login
    and passes a parameter ssousername
    From here my user is directed to the home page, which is built using the portlets, the URL for the same is,
    http://159.225.218.59/servlet/page?_pageid=255,257&_dad=portal30&_schema=PORTAL30
    This is where i want to pass the ssousername, so as to keep track of what the user is doing.
    Question 1: where does this page physically reside, or how do i add the parameter ssousername to this page?
    I have 1 HTML PORTLET, on this page, and the code behind this looks like,
    <!-- PL/SQL Language Definition Section -->
    <%@ page language="PL/SQL" %>
    <%@ plsql parameter="i_pagenum" default="1" %>
    <body>
    <table width = 760>
    <tr>
    Link 1
    </tr>
    </table>
    In the above code, when they click on link 1, it calls a database stored procedure(rpt_param_prov), which is also a psp page.
    In here, i want to pass the parameter ssousername.
    e.g. the link should look like,
    Link 1
    Again this is a HTML portlet, so i don't think it will recognize the psp tags.. so that probably might be another issue.
    But this is what i want to accomplish. So i can use the user who logged in, for my audit trail application, which will be inserting a record in a database table, everytime, the user runs reports that are being clicked.. like link 1 in above example.
    I don't understand why this is so hard.
    When i tried
    portal30.WWCTX_API.get_user, it still brings back PUBLIC or PORTAL30_PUBLIC.

  • Where does SSO information gets stored in Apps 11i

    Hi,
    I installed Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2. This has been further integrated with Oracle Single Sign On server (Oracle iAS 10.1.2.0.2).
    Does any one know where does the SSO infrormation gets stored in Apps, i.e. is there any table which stores these details? How does Apps come to know where to look for SSO server ?
    Thanks in advace.

    dumbdba wrote:
    We had a strange issue while enabling SSO for one of the test instances. After registering with the SSO server, the user was still directed to the >AppsLocalLogin.jsp page. The user preferences are SSO and we did take a Apache restart but it did not work.Is this true for all users, or just one? If not all users, this may be a case of cached files on the client (web browser) side. Can the affected users connect from other browsers on other machines, or from their own browsers after clearing the cache?
    I ran the test, but it shows me the information which already is known. I mean we know the URL's of SSO server. I was wondering as to how txkrun.pl script handles the login preferences ? Does it changes the aplogon.html file or does something other ?
    How does the instance comes to know that it is now single sign-on enabled and has to redirect to the SSO server rather than LocalLogin.jsp.txkrun.pl and AutoConfig should make all the necessary changes to the various configuration files (Apache httpd.conf and mod_osso.conf, Oracle AS ias.properties files, etc). As Hussein states, there should be no need to manually modify aplogon.html. Changes there will be overwritten the next time you (or adpatch) run AutoConfig, anyway.
    Vikram Das has written a [useful and thorough treatment|http://oracleappstechnology.blogspot.com/2007/08/apps-11i-login-flow.html] of what goes on in the course of logging in to an 11i system that is integrated with SSO.
    It's also possible that you have stale/corrupt JSPs cached on the web server; a simple restart of Apache will not necessarily fix this. Have you tried using ojspCompile.pl (in $FND_TOP/patch/115/bin) to recompile some of the JSPs associated with the login process?

    P.S: "Schwerwiegend" is German and means "fatal"

    Hi Uwe,
    0. There is a known issue with the FlashAccessManager - your tomcat installation CANNOT have a space in the install path.  "c:\tomcat\" is OK.  "c:\program files\tomcat\" is NOT OK.
    1. It's strange that your FlashAccessManager settings aren't being saved.  If you navigate between different tabs of the application, do you see that the values under your "preferences" tab are persisting?  Are you saying the settings disappear only when you close/restart the Manager?  To make sure your values are being saved, please take a look at your Flash Access server's directory containing your "flash_access_resources".  In that directory should be a file named "flashaccess-refimpl-packager.properties", which contains all of your Manager's preferences.  Please verify that this file is writable.
    2. Where is the FLV that you're trying to package?  Please make sure that the FLV is on the machine you have running your tomcat instance hosting your flashaccess-packager.war file.  Try something like "c:\temp\yourvideo.flv".  In the FlashAccessManager, even though it may be running on a machine different from your flash access packager, you will have to specify the path to be "c:\temp\yourvideo.flv", for packaging to be successful.
    3. Can you check your log4j.xml file to see where your AdobeFlashAccess.log is being written?  Please verify you have write permissions to that directory.
    cheers,
    /Eric.

  • Does oracle log general errors

    Dear experts,
    I am using Oracle 11.2.0.3. I am researching on random ORA-00900:     invalid SQL statement error that we are seeing in production. Does oracle log such errors in alert.log or any tables? If not can we configure to log such errors?

  • Where does Lion get its usernames? (former Linux user)

    Just some minutes ago, I opened the lid of my Macbook and noticed that something was using the CPU for 50% continuously. When I opened Activity Monitor, the only two CPU-using processes were kernel_task and WindowsServer, but not enough to cover 50%.
    Safari also wouldn't respond. Force-quitting worked, but starting it again would show the window but then result in a spinning beachball of death.
    When I opened the terminal, the prompt said "I have no name!@macbook$ "
    When I typed the command "id", it gave me a user ID (502) but no username!
    After killing all apps and mucking about, the CPU suddenly went back to the normal 3-5% usage, and everything worked fine again.
    Obviously, something went wrong with the process that does the user identification. As a former Linux user, I'd say the user data resides in /etc/passwd but that's not where it's at. Where does Lion get its usernames and passwords?

    OK thanks for the DSCL tip. I've found another thread with the same symptoms:
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3663559
    The logs of the opendirectoryd process show that it restarted itself (from /var/log/opendirectoryd.log):
    2012-04-15 13:26:56.346 CEST - Loaded bundle at path .....
    The system logs show a couple of errors from coreservicesd:
    Apr 15 13:03:32 macbook coreservicesd[31]: _scserver_ServerCheckin: client uid validation failure; getpwuid(502) == NULL
    And then thousands of these two lines follow:
    Apr 15 13:03:43 macbook xpchelper[95253]: getpwuid_r() failed for UID: 502, ret: 0, errno: 0
    Apr 15 13:03:43 macbook com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.xpchelper.F6010000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000[95253]): Exited with code: 1
    Let's see if it happens again in the future. I'm logging this for reference and Google.

  • Where does System.out.println("") send info?

    Under normal java execution it goes to the java console... where does it go when running a servlet under Tomcat on localhost?

    Output is written to the log file whose location is specified in server.xml. The default is the /logs directory under the tomcat root.

  • Where does System.out.println go?

    Hi Everyone: I know I've seen this topic before, but I'm still having some trouble. I would like to debug my EJBs, and so I've added some System.out.println statements to them. Where does that go? I've looked at the defaultTrace.trc files in the
    C:\usr\sap\P48\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log
    folder, and haven't found any of the text that I think I am writing. I appreciate any guidance! Ian.

    Hi lan,
    I was facing the same question earlier, and now I think I have figured out one possible answer. Actually, where the System.out.println goes is up to the Server Admin to config. There is a default SYSTEM.OUT log controller ( under location controller side) pre-defined to cater for all System.out.println(). All the System.out.println() output is considered as INFO type log message. However, this default SYSTEM.OUT controller is not assigned with any real log destination, thus, we cannot find the output anywhere.
    If you goes to the log configurator (using Visual Admin), you can locate this SYSTEM.OUT controller , and add in a default (Anonymous) destionation for it . (you need to toggle on the advance edit mode from the top menu , then you can add modify the destination settings of a Controller).
    For Anonymous destionation, the println() output will sure go to the defaultTrace.trc (better view it using Log Viewer, instead of viewing it from the log file ).
    Or , you can define a separate file (e.g. c:\temp\myStd.log ) as the log destination ..
    Last but not the least, you need to set the ForceSingleTraceFile setting from 'YES' to 'NO' , then you can see your "myStd.log".
    To change the ForceSingleTraceFile , go to Visual Admin, J2EE server --> Kernel --> LogManager.
    Hope you find the above useful.

    Thank you.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
