Where is all this data going?

I just noticed my airports lights looked awfully busy, and I opened activity viewer to see this:

Does anyone know of a program that can tell me what application or service is causing this data to be moving? My internet connection doesn't have nearly that much upward speed, so it's not leaving my network, but where is it going, and why?

In terminal, you can do two things:
netstat -anp tcp
will show you all of your currently active tcp connections. Things going to port 80 are webservers, 443 https webservers, 21 FTP, etc.
lsof
... will show you all open files on your system and what has them open. In UNIX, since everything is a file, that includes open sockets.
to limit it to only TCP connections, do:
lsof -i tcp
You'll get something like the following:

From that you can see that Adium (instant messaging client) has a bunch of connections open to the various IM services and Safari has some websites open.

The files listed are: cookies.sqlite cookies.sqlite.bak cookies.sqlite.bak-rebuild. I tried deleting the cookies.sqlite file but I think the cookies.sqlite.bak-rebuild rebuilds it. In any case when I reopened firefox It was the same I still have to sign in all the time.

Where is all this OLD mail coming from?

just opened my Apple mail program on my new MacBook Pro and it is loading OLD OLD OLD OLD mail that had been deleted EONS ago. whats worse is that it's mostly junk mail whats even worse is that i cannot stop it from coming in. My iCloud is NOT synced to my mail programs and my gmail account is empty. so where or where is all this mail coming from and how can i make it stop?

Whenever I do a restore I always forget to reapply some database roles or application roles in post restore steps.We have one database of very different db roles,Grant permissions,Login and User permissions and they changes also frequently.

The context of your question is not entirely clear, but I assume that you restore a copy from one type of environment (for instance QA) to another (for instance development).
To get group membership, you use the catalog views sys.database_principals and sys.database_role_members. Querying these is straightforward.
To get permissions you would query sys.database_permissions. This view is more difficult to query, but you can take shortcuts depending on what is in use at your site.

First of all Jetpacks don't consume data, your personal devices do. If your data plan is starting to reflect high data usage then one or more of your personal devices are to blame. That means that for the time being you should get into the habit of powering on and off your Jetpack only as it is needed. This will curb off the strange or late night download sessions so that they only occur when you are actively using your Jetpack.
From there its a game of cat and mouse to figure out which device is demanding all the data from the VZW network. You have to use isolation techniques in addition to trial and error to find the source of the data leak and put a stop to it. Sometimes that means bringing the device to a hotspot and letting it finish its updates. Sometimes that means a new VZW device. Sometimes that means termination. Adding more data doesn't help the problem, its a band aid at best.

You lost this data. With iCloud, Apple doesn't support iDisk and Gallery, so their data is deleted after you move to iCloud if you didn't save them on your Mac

Hi i have run into a problem and cant think at the mo. I need to know the best way to store this data:
Meet(List of events in meet, Runners in meet, Relay team in meet, Which runner/ relay team is registered for which event, results of each event updated once meet is run, event being run(or has finished) or not started yet so runners can still register for it);
Runner(RunnerID, Name, D.O.B, national team affiliation, Gender, Events in?, Seedtime for each event?, actual time for event?)
RelayTeam(RelayID, Team name, Runner names, seedtime for events, events in, Acutal time)
Event(ID, Name, Meet in, Runners in which lane)
I just want to know how i can store these to make it as easy as possible to update etc.

Personnel development - Objectives along with all appraisal data goes blank

Hi Folks,
We have a situation where the user says that all his appraisal related details updated on his appraisal forms are going missing during the end of year review. This is happening on Portal as well as Backend on PHAP_ADMIN when checked by us.
Kindly if any one could help with any relative solutions i'll be grateful.

Are you sure the employee entered data into the form? If it is not in the backend, I would be surprised if these did not appear on the form.
One thing that SAP does not offer on the Appraisal process is audit logs. The only thing you can track is the substatus / status change.

As the title says i was just wondering what Apple does with all the MBPs that were sent back....
How can i be sure, that a MBP that i order now is really new and not just an "old" one that is fixed.
I am afraid that i'll get a new looking notebook that is possibly 14+ days old and that was taken back....

I would imagine they would be as well. There have been class action suites in the past against companies who have sold used and returned products as new, so I doubt about would attempt to do this.

I can't find tools, add-ons, Sync (tabs, bookmarks, etc.). I've clicked on every clickable thing. Where is all this stuff? I prefer a menu with words I can read rather than pictures I have to guess, but I've clicked on every icon and can't find anything.

Paid the 49 bucks to get the full premiere elements 7 subscription. Said in the ad we are supposed to get all kinds of cool downloadable content from adobe. So far I have seen 4 or 5 new disc menus and thats about it. What's the deal Adobe? I didn't need the storage space I just wanted the supposed extra cool content you advertised.

I am not trying to be an Adobe-apologist here, but are you sure that you logged into the Adobe.com site correctly as a subscriber? Reason that I ask is that what you are describing sounds suspiciously like what is free to all, and not the complete lineup of content available to subscribers. I've accidently logged into Hertz's site and not done so as a "#1 Gold" member. All of a sudden I wasn't seeing any of my "bonus" offerings, etc. Everything looked right, but it was just a log-in error on my part.
What is being described does not sound like Adobe. I hope that I am right, 'cause I'd be miffed too, and would yell even more loudly than you are - just to Adobe directly.
Good luck, and please update us with what you find out. In the meantime, take a look at the content at Muvipix. Some is free, the bulk is either for purchase, or free with a subscription. I know, you already have one of those with Adobe.com, but I can attest to the quantity and quality of the Muvipix content.

I took my MacBook in for repair yesterday. The techy used a reset button in the back of the computer. Since then, my picture of Firefox has changed and is very difficult to use. What is happening?

* Make sure that you have the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" visible: "View > Toolbars"
* If items are missing then see if you can find them in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window
* If you see the missing item in the Customize window then drag it back from the Customize window onto one of the toolbars.
* If, in "View > Toolbars > Customize", you do not see that item then click the "Restore Default Set" button
