Where is Help for Access 2010

When I click Help in Access 2010, I get directed to the internet and Bing.
With 2003 there used to be a nice Help system built into the product which was a great learning tool and enabled easy access to most topics.
Has this gone forever or am I missing some install files? Thanks.

When you're in the VB Editor, hitting F1 should open the Help file. When you're in the database, there should be a small blue circle with a white question mark in the upper right-hand corner (under the X to close Access). When you have that help system open,
look in the bottom right-hand corner. If it says "Connected to Office.com", click on it, and you should be presented with an option "Show content only from this computer". That'll change the status from "Connected to Office.com" to "Offline".

  • Add-in for Access 2010/2013 with Visual Studio 2012 (2013 Preview)

    Hello!
    Am i right: Microsoft wants to kill Access in favor of Azure/SQL stuff?
    I was unable to find any Projects in Visual Studio 2012/2013 to create an Addon for Access 2010 or 2013 (only Word, Excel, Outlook).
    There is even no Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access.ApplicationFactory
    to install add-in to Access App.
    Any solutions for VS 2012?
    Or i should use outdated Shared Add-in with VS 2010?
    Thank you!

    Sorry Donald M from Microsoft,
    You need to rethink that response.  IDTExtensibility2 is an outdated Office 2003 technology.
    Everything EXCEPT the ThisAddIn.designer.cs reference to ApplicationFactory _factory compiles when you switch references in another Office application's VSTO project template to msaccess and dao libraries.  Even the Access icon shows up in Visual
    Studio 2013.  The only reason a Ribbon.xml project will not load into Access is that Microsoft hasn't provided the Microsoft.Office.Tools.Access DLL for it.  If you leave the Factory reference pointing to global::Microsoft.Office.Tools.Factory,
    the add-in compiles but will not load.
    MICROSOFT: Please provide us the missing Factories for MSAccess and OneNote.

  • How do you sort numbers in the same field in excel 2010 the same for access 2010

    Hi,
    Is there a way to sort data horizontally in the same field in excel and for access, or is there an addin that can do this
    or  function code
    field data    6-4-25-23-11-45
    sort order 4-6-11-23-25-45
    Regards,
    Rudolf
    rudolfelizabeth

    sort data horizontally in the same field in excel
    Does "in the same field" means that the string "6-4-25-23-11-45" is located in one cell?
    In that case you have to use an UDF. Paste this code into a regular module:
    Function SortNumbersPrim(ByVal What As String, Optional ByVal Delimiter) As Variant
      Dim Arr, Temp
      Dim i As Long, j As Long
      Arr = Split(What, Delimiter)
      For i = LBound(Arr) + 1 To UBound(Arr)
        Temp = Val(Arr(i))
        For j = i - 1 To LBound(Arr) Step -1
          If Val(Arr(j)) <= Temp Then Exit For
          Arr(j + 1) = Arr(j)
        Next
        Arr(j + 1) = Temp
      Next
      SortNumbersPrim = Join(Arr, Delimiter)
    End Function
    Then use a formula like this:
    =SortNumbersPrim(A1,"-")

    Hi,
    Many solutions!!!!!!!!.
    a) store in a session variable in main page and retrive it in 2nd page.
    OR
    b)As the button is a normal button pass the values through javascript..
    <input type=button onClick="return sendData()">
    <script>
    function sendData() {
    var selectvalue=document.form.selectname.value
    var newwindow=window.open(url?selectchoice="+selectvalue+",'','''')
    </script> In the 2nd page(new window) use
    <%
    request.getParameter("selectchoice");
    %> Though some syntax errors are there...but it works..

  • Idmso for access 2010

    I want to add few commands on my custom tab through usysribbons, like A-Z, Z-A, Merge with excel, Merge with Word, Form View, Datasheet view if someone can show me how to add above mentioned commands. I tried but not successful. I already successfully added
    close and find command as follows
          <tabs>
                  <tab id="tabEntry" label="Entry">
                   <group id="grpEntry" label="Entry"  visible="true">
                        <button idMso="MasterViewClose" size="large" label="Close" imageMso="MasterViewClose"/>
                        <button idMso="FindDialog" size="large" label="Find" imageMso="Dialog"/>
                    </group>
                  </tab>
            </tabs>

    Hi vinay,
    It would be easiest if you added the deafult group id's That way the functionality will automatically be available for you. Now all you need to know is what you are looking for.
    Example: <group idMso="GroupFindAccess"/> which will give you the specified group within your tab.
    Now here are some other default groups to choose from. Just pick one and add it to your XML. I have to admit that i don't know all of them from the top of my head but if logically looked at you might get the picture.

  • Acrobat X Pro - PDFMAKER Office COM  in Access 2010

    Hi,
    I have Office 2013 and Access 2010 installed on my computer. I cannot get the PDFMAKER plugin to work with Access 2010. I tried to manually register the DLL and enabling the plugin. Is this becuase I have MS Office 2013 installed alongside Access 2010. Any info would be great since we run reports in Access and need to ability to merge all the pages in the reports. This was working on another machine that only had office 2010.
    Nick

    Don't remember if it was AA X or AA XI when support for ACCESS ended. That may be the issue. The compatibility chart at Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications suggests that ACCESS does not work for OFFICE 2013 and PDF Maker, but does for ACCESS 2010 on AA X (only version of Acrobat that worked with ACCESS 2010. AA XI does not work with ACCESS. Since you mention both OFFICE 2013 and ACCESS 2010, there may be an issue with 2010 really being the application running (check the help file for About Access for the version). Of course, Acrobat may be confused too, so you may have to activate the addon for ACCESS 2010.

  • How steps for convert an old adp file to accdb in Access 2010/2013

    I have a client with an old adp file they are running in Access 2010.  Some of their users have moved to Access 2013 and the adp format is no longer supported in that version of access.  I have tried searching the web, but I have not found a definitive
    set of instructions on how to migrate the content of this adp file to the newer accdb format.  I have created a new .accdb went to External data, Import, Access and pulled over all the objects found in that ui.  It pulled in tables as well, but it
    was my understanding with the adp format all of the tables were in sql server, not access.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated to help me figure out how to migrate this content and get rid of the adp file as I am admittedly not very knowledgeable of this adp file format as well!

    Thanks for the help Stefan.  I was actually able to do this pretty easily by doing a couple of things:
    Created a blank new Access DB (MyAccessDB_new_format.accdb)
    Opened it and went to the External Data menu, then imported all the objects from the old Access file (MyAccessDB.adp)
    Went to View code to see the VBA code and then added the reference to the ADODB library for the code.
    Created a new ODBC connection on the PC to the local SQL Server database (called MySQLServerAppDB).
    Deleted all the local tables that got imported in the Access db.
    Went to the External Data menu, then added all the db objects as linked tables (All the tables now in the access db with the globe icon next to them) and renamed them in Access from default naming schema of "dbo_TableName" to just "TableName".
    Tested it and was getting some weird dbo message, so looked at the VBA code and all the queries had schema qualification (i.e.:  select * from dbo.table1), so I did a find replace and got rid of "dbo." (found
    10 occurrences) and changed any form or report references in their property sheets with dbo in the name and removed "dbo."
    Tested it again and then got some weird unique table error message.  I just commented this line out and it works fine in my app.
    Hope that helps someone!

  • Access 2010 table has too many fields for web database - how to split into two web-compatible tables?

    Hello,
    I'm in the process of converting an Access 2010 database into a web database and I'm having some trouble. I have a table which has 236 fields, which is more than the 220 field limit for web-compatible tables. I have tried to split this table into two tables
    with a one-to-one relationship, but web tables can only use lookups as relationships. I've tried to connect the tables with a lookup and then synthesize a one-to-one relationship by using data macros but I'm not having much luck.
    I realize that 236 fields is a lot, but it must be set up this way because each field represents a tasks and is a yes/no box to verify that the task has been completed - and the records are different employees for whom which the tasks need to be completed.
    Could someone please help me figure out a way to make this table web compatible?
    Thank you,
    Ryan

  • ODBC from Access 2010 - where have my exported tables gone?

    Story so far:
    Environment Windows 8.1 Office 2013 both 64 bit
    Got an Access 2010 DB which is too big (1.8GB), so I want to do an SQL Express back end and an Access front end.
    I install SQL 2012 Express on my local system CCW8.
    I create a DB in SQL Management Studio (called OUS). In Access 2013 I create an ODBC datasource (it does not ask for 32 or 64 bit) called CCW8\OUS
    I can export tables to this daatsource
    I delete the local tables in Access.
    I attach the dbo.TABLENAME SQL tables
    My data is visible.
    But I need to find these tables in SQL Management Studio to do the database diagrams. I can't find them
    My OUS database exists but has no tables.
    After a reboot, the datasource is no longer visible in ODBC datasouces (32 or 64 bit) but the Access DB can still "see" some data
    Can someone point me to a reference?
    Also should I stop using Access as a front end - it's easy for users coming from Excel and Office VBA?
    CarolChi

    Hello,
    It seems that Access data export to ODBC data source is failed.
    Did you try to export Access data into SQL Server database with another methods? For example, using SQL Server Migration Assistant for Access or SQL Server Import and Export Wizard from SQL Server Management Studio?
    In order to use Access as front end for a SQL Server database, you can build a OBDC connection to your SQL Server database and create linked table in Access.

  • Where can I get the latest Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll for SharePoint 2010?

    Can somebody point me to where I can get the latest Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll for SharePoint 2010?
    When I go into Library Settings on any library or list in SharePoint 2010 I’m getting an unexpected error; I see this in the SharePoint log:
    11/18/2014 13:12:26.36 w3wp.exe (0x2260)                       0x33EC  SharePoint Foundation
            Runtime

    I searched online and found this:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/ed5aa58a-f5cc-4449-8bfd-65ca6f101641/list-settings-page-error-on-all-type-of-sharepoint-2010-listslibraries?forum=sharepointgeneralprevious.  It says:
    We noticed exactly the same issue after applying some SharePoint updates (SP1 + October 2011 CU).  The problem turned out to be that there was an older version (V14.0.4762.1000) of Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll in the GAC.
    This version was being loaded instead of the latest version of the DLL (14.0.6112.5000).
    Loading the latest version of Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll fixed the problem with the List/Library settings page.
    I check our Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll and found that we have version 14.0.6024.1000.
    I would like to try replacing it with the latest version to see if that could fix the problem going into library settings.
    Does someone know where I can get the latest Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll for SharePoint 2010?
    David

    You would need to extract it from an update. Pre-SP2 SharePoint 2010 is no longer supported, I'd recommend upgrading to SP2 which should take care of any versioning issues.
