Where is reader view in Safari 8.0.3 ?

Where can I locate reader view?

If an article is Reader ready, a 3½ lines  gray icon  will appear just left of the url.
When you click on it, lines will turn black indicating that the article is in Reader mode.
Best.

  • How to Email Reader View from Safari

On both iPad and iPhone when I display a web page using reader view I can then email that full article/reader view.
In Safari on Yosemite that reader view is also available but there seems to be no way to email the full article from reader view.
    Is it possible?

If an article is Reader capable, 3½ bars icon will appear near the left end of the search bar
Click the "Share" icon and select "Email This Page".
When the Mail composing  window appears with link inserted, click inside popup box next to "Send Web Content As"  and select "Reader".
    Best.

  • Where is reader view on iOS 8.3

I've updated to 8.3 and the reader view icon is gone.... little help?

Try closing Safari by double clicking your Home button and swiping up on Safari. If you still don't get the Reader View then try resetting the iPhone by holding down the Home and Lock buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.
Edit: I just tested on my iPhone 6 running 8.3 and if reader view is available for the page it says right in the address bar "Reader View Available"

  • Default PDF viewer in Safari... removing Adobe Reader

I recently installed Adobe Reader because I find it easier to mark-up documents than in Preview, and now it is the default viewer in Safari.  I have tried to change this, but the help I have found on the internet isn't working... there is no internet plug-in (that I can find) to delete, and the preferences in Reader have the "Display PDF in browser using" box grayed-out, so I can't check that either.  Any advice?
Also, if you know of a better program for reading PDFs (my main problem with mark-ups on preview is that it doesn't isolate individual columns, so when highlighting, it highlights all the way across the page, as opposed to individual columns) then please share!
    Thanks!

Here is the link with instructions from Adobe.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html
Go to the section called "Disable AdobePDFViewer plug-in" and follow the instructions.
You must have root user privileges to change the Safari plug-ins. To display PDFs using the Safari PDF viewer, you must disable the Adobe PDF Viewer.
    Quit Safari.
Log in as the root user. The root user privileges aren't enabled by default because the root user can change system files. For more information and instructions, see one of the following Apple documents: Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X or OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user.
Choose Go > Go To Folder.
Type /Library in the Go To The Folder field, and click Go.
Create a new folder in the Library folder, and name it Internet Plug-ins Disabled.
Open the Internet Plug-ins folder, and move both the AdobePDFViewer.plugin and the AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin into the new Internet Plug-ins Disabled folder.
    Note:
If both AdobePDFViewer plug-ins are still in the Internet Plug-ins folder, drag them now to the trash. You may be asked for your name and password.

  • Reinstate Preview as PDF viewer for Safari

I am trying to get Preview to work as the default PDF viewer in Safari. I have deleted the Adobe Reader and Silverlight plug-ins from Library/Internet Plug-ins. I selected Preview as the default app for PDFs (all instances) in the info pane of a PDF. I restarted Safari and rebooted the Mac. Now it seems that Safari has no ability to view a PDF inline; it immediately downloads any PDF I click on and opens it with Preview.
I looked for a way to reinstall Safari, although I'm not sure that is a solution, but did not find a Safari download on the Apple website. Do I need a plug-in or should the functionality be built into the browser?
How do I get a PDF file to display as a web page in Safari using Preview?
    Thanks -
**OS X 10.10 Yosemite on a Macbook Pro Retina 13"

    HI,
Right or control click a PDF file on your hard drive. Then click: Get Info
In the Get Info window click the pop up menu where you see: Open with.
Select Preview. If Preview isn't available from the list click: Other
Navigate to the Preview app and select it then click the Change All button.

  • HTTPS Lock Icon missing on pages which also have a Reader View

I navigated to a page which is protected by https (as verified using Firefox), and which also has a Reader View.  On Safari, the Reader View icon (the 4 or so lines) appears on that page, but the Lock icon is not visible at all.
    Is this a known issue?
    For an example, see:
         https://www.doba.com/basictrial/standard/3/

Yes, I noticed this as well. The workaround I have is, go to Windows and search for "On Screen". You will get to the On Screen Keyboard where you can toggle the Scroll Lock.

OOPS! Too quick on the trigger to ask that question without trying anything. Sorry. Solved it by touching the bookmark icon.

    Hi Mary,
    I don't remember those arrows in 10.6, only 10.7 & up!?
I have 10.6.8, as you do. To make your Safari full screen, make sure you have the left hand side of your safari page moved  all the way to the left.  Then move your cursor to the BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER of the safari page, and simply drag your page towards the lower right hand corner of the screen. NOTE: you will see a series of lines on the bottom right corner of the page, indicating where to place you cursor arrow.

where can i view photos stored in icloud and how do I delete some of them

There are two iCloud Photo areas: My Photo Stream and Shared Photo Stream.  Here is the info on both.
iCloud: My Photo Stream FAQ - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4486
How do I delete photos from My Photo Stream?
You can delete photos from your photo stream the same way you delete other photos from your iOS device or Mac. Just select the photos you want to remove, then tap the trash icon or click Delete. On your PC, select the photos you want to remove from your photo stream, right-click, then select delete. When you delete a photo from My Photo Stream on one device, iCloud will automatically delete it from the My Photo Stream album or view on your other devices. Learn more about deleting photos.

  • 5 seconds to Paradise: From where InDesign reads the live captions?

    Hi all,
After searching a lot in finding the best cross-platform organizer & viewer around, I finally (ALMOST) found it.
It is called XnView MP and it has an ultra-fast thumbnail manager, viewer - it supports a very big number of file formats for thumbnailing/viewing - including InDesign(!) - a top-notch cataloging, the best & fastest batch convert which I could find and... <insert your advertising of choice here>.
    Highly recommended.
    </ad off>
    However there is a problem:
When we add/edit the metadata for an image (specifically the caption) in its IPTC/XMP editor (Ctrl+I), the text isn't shown with the Live Captions feature of InDesign CS6.
We discuss with the developing team of XnView MP and they are very responsive and want to fix the problem but we don't know (yet) from where InDesign reads its metadata.
Some more technical info to describe the problem:
    1. The files are TIFF (LZW packed) files.
    2. If we open the file in Photoshop, press Ctrl+Shift+I in order to bring its IPTC editor, the caption entered with XnView shows up correctly in the Description field.
    3. If, after the step 2, we close the editor with 'Ok' do a 'Save As' in Photoshop and overwrite the file, the caption will appear correctly in InDesign.
    4. If, after the stpe 3, we (re)open the image in XnView MP's IPTC editor the caption is there.
It seems that Photoshop does something behind the scenes and fill the area from where InDesign reads it.
Does someone know from what fields InDesign reads its info for Live Captions?

I don't really have an answer for you - I guess it's up to them to figure it out.
Sorry I can't help any further.

  • Where's my toolbar in safari?

In Lion there doesn't seem to be a View Toolbar item, in View in Safari,
nor do any of the other suggestions so far work.I'm gerring a bit dsperate!.

If you have any third party Safari add ons installed, that may be why you can't use the Toolbar.
Troubleshooting help here >  Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
And check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, quit then relaunch Safari.
