Where is the music coming from? It's not affiliated w/ any of my open web pages. Make it stop!
This only happens in MFF (I have 3.6). When the browser opens and the tabs begin loading, this horrible music starts playing. None of the sites I have in the tabs play music. All of my plug-ins seem to be Microsoft related. I have XP and my AV is Kaspersky and I run MFF in safe mode. Where is this music coming from and how can I get it to stop? Please help. Thank you in advance!
A week after my first call to AppleCare, I called again for help. This time the Tech was very helpful and she did not ask for additional $$.
My computer does not have an Airport card in it. To get my new Extreme-n to recognize my Express so that I can send iTunes wirelessly to my stereo, we spent an hour on the phone working through a manual setup. It included an initial hard-wired Ethernet connection to both Airports. It included manually copying the AirportID number from one device to the other, and then the reverse. It also took three different “hard-resets” of my Express. My “simple” Extreme-n to Express wireless connection is now working properly.
Kudos to my Tech; she was very knowledgeable and very patient.
Boos to Apple Extreme-n team for releasing a product without a comprehensive setup utility. This should have been a simple ten-minute set-up procedure, just like it was for my old Airport Extreme base station.
Bottom line: Keep calling AppleCare until you get a good Tech to help.

that means that your mac still thinks the headphones are plugged in. Try inserting and unplugging the headphones from the jack several times and see if it sets the toggle switch back. If not, try sticking a toothpick or something sturdy and narrow in and see if you can manually flip the toggle switch. That method is a last resort, you do not want to break anything off inside the headphone jack.

I have an iPod whose contents I want to transfer to a newer Ipod. At some stage when I thought I was syncing correctly I wasn't so I lost the music files from my library. Is there any way to get them back from the older iPod and put them onto the newer one again?

This is how it was advertised but it is not exactly true unless all your music was bought in iTunes. You can always redownload a song that was previously bought for free.
Eventually for a fee they will offer iTunes match and you will be able to do that for other music too that you have ripped off of CDs, for exmple.
If you have more than one Apple ID, though, like so many of us that came from Mobile me, this service will not really work because you can only flip between one ID and another on an IOS device once every 90 days. We are not allowed to merge our IDs, so iCloud does not really work for us. -
On iTunes 11, how can I access home sharing if the music is from a CD on a different computer using Home Sharing? Is there any way I can download these songs if (A) I no longer have the CD, or (B) I do not want to pay $25 a year for iTunes Match?
Yes, you can copy songs that you ripped from a CD to your Home Sharing computer.
Turn on Home Sharing first on both computers. To do that, go to File > Home Sharing > Turn on Home Sharing. Enter your Apple ID and password.
Now go to your computer that you want to copy the songs to and connect to your Home Share. You can do that by clicking on the popover button located at the left top corner right below the play control buttons. Click on it and scroll to the bottom until you see your Home Share and select it.
Go to Music in your Home Share. Select the songs that you want to copy in your Home Share and click Import at the bottom right corner. -
I have recently made all the changes to ensure that spamassissin is working. This included creating two mail boxes one for spam and one for ham.
I am now using spamtrainer and I have started placing mail I consider as spam into the spam mail box. I have not yet started placing non spam into the notspam mail box.
I understand I need to feed the system SPAM and HAM. I assume I move messages that users receive that are spam into the spam mail box, and normal messages into the notspam mailbox. Is that right?
I have started feeding it SPAM (only about 300 messages so far) but not HAM. When I run spamtrainer I get stats for SPAM and HAM. As guess, I would say the number of HAM and SPAM messages add up to the 300 or so. My question is where are the HAM messages (stats) coming from?Initial training gives the system a starting set of data, so it's more accurate from the beginning.
Ongoing, think of it more as correction.
When SpamAssassin makes a mistake, you should correct it.
When Spam arrives properly marked as * Junk Mail *, you can just delete it. SpamAssassin has already learned from the message.
If Spam arrives untagged, then you need to train/correct SpamAssassin so it learns the traits of that message as spam.
And most important, if legit mail arrives tagged as * Junk Mail * you need to correct the system or it will continue to weight the characteristics (sender, servers used, words, etc) of that message towards spam.
Feed the system as much HAM and SPAM as you can (1000s of each).
Then ongoing, you should onlly have occasional corrections.

When we run a query are we getting the data from source system?
Or the cube in Bw?

And if i have a query which invloves A hierarchy,is the query execution time going to be more?
Or because the hierarchy is master data it does not effect the query execution time?

Haarika.The OLAP cache is a performance aid. A query will look in the OLAP cache to see if the data has already been retrieved from the database already, and if it has been, and all other criteria for using the cache are met, the query will get the data from the cache rather than having to read the database. Deleting the data in the cube will invalidate the cache for that query, meaning the query must go to the cube, and surprise, surprise, find no data. Any time the cube gets changed, the cache will be invalidated.

Where is the patch coming from
So we have a patch recall, 14-080 as it caouse IE to become unstable. I KNOW we killed all deployments of the patch out of any group membership. However end point are picking up and installing the patch. How can I tell where they are

Where is the interference coming from?
I wonder if anyone can help with this
I have a black vision connected with poweline adapters.
Since the new Vision screen has appeared, we've noticed interference appearing in the background. It's not that bad that we can't watch it. But if you notice it, then it really bothers you.
I've not nothing else plugged in. The Wii is only powered up when it gets used. The TV has an inbuilt DVD player so we don't have a seperate one of them either. Nothing else is plugged in where the TV is.
It's connected by a scart lead.
The interference is like anothe channel sliding accross the screen if that makes sense
Does anyone know what mnight be causing it?It is indeed a scart issue and in the distant past when I still used them I had to buy special shielded cables to get rid of the same interference.

I get the impression that there is a NullPointerException happening at line 124 (marked above), however I don't see anything that could be causing this kind of behavior, especially considering that it appears to work fine on another machine.

I've only been able to safely do this at launch; any other time is asking for trouble (in my experience).The look and feel is set at the launch, and the only things occurring beforehand are the reading of a properties file and the setting of the current locale...
Also, by the way, I tested the application on Mac OS X, and received no errors of the kind. This had only problem occurred on 1 computer I have tried it on.

Where are the "Clicks" coming from?
After recording a voice track file, I notice in playback that there were some occasional "clicks." They seem to occur very randomly. What might be causing this and how can I solve this problem? Thank You :-)

Without evidence, nobody can fix this. But you can help here by analysing what actually happens when a click occurs and telling us. The first thing you have to do is to establish whether it's on the recording or not. Zoom right into the click and see if you can see what it looks like. If it's caused (as a lot are) by a missing sample, then you could either have HD or data buffer problems, but if it's a continuous waveform with what looks like a pulse in it, then it will almost certainly be caused externally. If in doubt, post a screen shot of the click when you've zoomed into it. If it doesn't appear on the recording at all, then it's a fault in your playback system somewhere. -

how do i make it so iTunes plays the music files from where i have chosen to store them as opposed to it scattering copies of my files into a myriad different folders based on the albums they came from when i'm not even interested in keeping whole albums?
I recently converted myself to mac after having been a windows formatted person since the beginning of time. I use last.fm and the client scrobbler only supports iTunes on the mac (scobbling since Nov 06 and i'm now heavily dependant upon it as a means of discovering new music) - if you don't know what that means then take it for granted i have no option other than to use iTunes as my media player whn using the mac. And almost immediately upon using iTunes i was filled with horror.
My tale of woe as follows: I copy all my mp3 files to folder X on my new mac. I copy my simple playlist in to that same folder X. The simple playlist simply lists all the files in folder X in the order i want to hear them in... simple right? And what happens the moment i start playing my simple list? Well you probably all ready know; itunes throws copies of all those files in to the air, scatters them to the four winds so each of them fall into a little folder of their own representing the album they might once have come from. I don't keep whole albums. For me the 'album experience' is a ruse to trick one into listening to weaker material. I only keep the concentrated goodness. I only put up with albums in a previous lifetime because in the days of vinyl i had no other choice apart from spending hours compiling mix tapes. Now i am liberated from these restrictions and have been for the 15 or so years i've been using a computer to listen to music. Until along comes iTunes forcing me backwards in time, frog marching me back into the past.
That simple list i mentioned is my one and only playlist. This single playlist has been evolving for 15 years as tracks are added and removed and their position in the list changes because that song sounds amazing when heard after that other song whereas hearing this song after that song would be like pouring custard over your sausages (for me shuffling is an abomination). And so here is how i've managed this list and managed synchronization of said list and listed files with my mp3 player (currently a Zen).
Adding a new file: After deciding that song is a keeper i will copy it into that simple folder that holds all my music and drop it in to a position on the list i deem most suited for it. Incidentally over this entire 15 year (i'm pretty sure it's been around that long) my media player has been winamp but for the reason previously mentioned i am unable to use winamp in mac world.
Removing a file: fortunately winamp has an option to simultaneously remove a file from the list and the hard drive. And naturally so because after all if i no longer like a song then i want it expunged completely from life or at least from my hard drive and playlist. In the brave new world of iTunes i have to remove from the list there then delete the file from where iTunes copied it from and then the place iTunes copied it to.
Editing the list: drag an item in the list to it's preferred location and select to save it as i would for any other file using any other application... well desktop type application as opposed to one that uses a database as its primary means of storage.
Syncing with the mp3 player: copy drag drop playlist file from the simple folder on the hard drive to the simple folder on the mp3 player as i would for any other file. And then also copy drag drop the most recently created files from simple folder on hard drive to simple folder on player after having ordered them by creation date so as to make it easier to select the most recently created. After a while the mp3 player will fill up with the files no longer on the list so i will delete all files from player then re-copy all flies from simple folder on hard drive to simple folder on mp3 player.
I do not make changes to the list on the mp3 player so synchronization needs only to go one way: from laptop to player.
So all very simple. Apart from editing the positions of files in the list everything is managed by copy drag dropping and deleting files using windows explorer.
But i'm in a mac and circumstances have forced me in to the corner of using iTunes. And this whole iTunes situation is terrifying for me as over the years i've heard horror stories about it deleting all of someone's music files. Perhaps this may have been by using the software incorrectly but even so, the very fact that it appears possible for this to happen simply by using the software incorrectly and the fact that it happens with some degree of frequency given the number of reports of this happening that i have heard of over the years on music discussion forums fills me with dread that i have to now use this software. And given the software's blatant disregard for the user's choice as to where to store his/her files it's no surprise that this happens. The software is pointlessly doing dangerous things with my data. Please make it stop.
Please can i just at the very least make iTunes play the music from the folder i have chosen to put my files in and not copy those files here there and everywhere without my say so? Thankyou.option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. Check your Videos and your text messages - if there are any pics or videos in text messages, they can take up a lot of space.
