Where's the Insert key?

Anybody know which key on the keyboard is the "Insert" key?

I'll assume it's at the top of the page. Some programs don't have it.

  • Where is The "Home" Key in Logc

I am new and fairly inorant, but very enthusiastic about logic, so please forgive this simpple question. Can some please tell me where is the "Home" key in logic? I would like to go back to 1 1 1 1 at any given time by utilizing this key. I am aware that double cliking on the play button in the trasport window will go back to the last positon that I desinted, but that does not help when I need to go to the ver begining. Thanks in advance for your help.

Try 0 on your extended keyboard.
I forget now if I saved that as a key command or if Logic ships that way.
But I am pretty sure Logic ships with 0 as return to song start. If your song starts at 1 1 1 1 then it will return to 1 1 1 1.

  • Where is the DELETE key -- and I don't mean "backspace"

Every PC of any stripe that I have ever owned -- and we're talking a lot of machines in nearly 30 years of this -- has had two 'delete' keys.
One is a backspace key -- it erases characters in before the cursor. It's usually found above the enter/return key, where the backspace key used to be on those old-fangled typewriter machines.
The other key was a "delete" key -- which would erase characters that apper AFTER the cursor. There the backspace key would erase backwards, the delete key would erase forwards.
So, where is the DELETE key on a Mac keyboard? Is there some combination of keys that will serve that purpose? Or does somebody really think I'm going to move the cursor to the end of some place and delete backwards ALL the time?
I read in yesterday's Wall Street Journal that Steve Jobs doesn't like buttons, but this is ridiculous. It could, in fact be a fatal error... I've still got 10 days to take this thing back...
    --PS

I don't suppose there is any kind of utility program that would let me re-map they keyboard, so that I could make, say, the "enter" key at the bottom into a "forward-delete" key (I never use that enter key, my hands are trained to use the "enter/return" key where it's always been on a typewriter -- yeah, I'm that old...)
Either buried on the Mac somewhere or a third party program that would let me do that? Would sure make the MacBook more liveable... I delete a LOT!
    Thanks,
    --PS

  • Where is the delete key??

i switched to mac recently, in windows i had (delete) key and (backspace) key, but in my mac, there is only (backspace) key. where is the (delete) key??

There is no backspace key on a Mac keyboard. The Delete key is on the upper right on the keyboard, and if you have a Pro keyboard, there is another smaller delete key underneath the F13-F15 function keys, along with help, home, end, page up and page down keys.

  • Where is the "insert" function as on Word?

Sorry, everybody. I feel like a moron. I have always used PCs with Word. I made the switch in November and decided to give Pages a shot. I'm trying to type onto a pre-existing document with spaces for answers and whatnot. As I try to type my answers into these spaces, the new text pushes the old text along, and messes with the overall look of the page. In Word, I merely tapped the "insert" key on the keyboard and you could choose to delete existing text or space as you typed. How can I manage to accomplish this in Pages? The answering may be staring me in the face, but I'm just not seeing it. Any help would really alleviate this headache.

    Hi LHH,
Welcome to Apple Discussions and the Pages '08 forum.
No surprise that the feature can't be found; it doesn't exist in Pages. Like AppleWorks before it, Pages is always in "Insert" mode (as opposed to "Replace" mode). One possible reason for that choice was the use from the beginning of proportional type on the Mac. Using proportional type, a character for character replacement will also change the position of words following the replacement.
There are a couple of techniques that will approximate the "Replace" mode.
Select the text to be replaced, then type the replacement text. Things will jump leftward as the first character typed replaces the whole selection, but moves back into place as you continue.
If you're setting up the original document, and leaving spaces in which to enter text, you can use single cell tables inserted as inline objects to receive the typed in text.
I've done only once-over tests on these suggestions, and offer them only as possibilities.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Where's the phone key pad

how to find  / where is the phone key pad with ios 7 all I get is face time no key pad

The delete key or backspace key is all that there is on a MacBook. It functions as a backward delete. If you want to use a forward delete, you need to hold down the fn (function) key in the bottom left of your keyboard and hit the delete or backspace key. For a more functional or normal approach for heavy writing, I might suggest an external keyboard with the forward delete key in place. -GDF

  • Deployment error - where is the ClassImp key?

So I've been working on this application for about 4 months.
In that time, I've made updates and changes to the WAR file and used the
NT-based Deploytool to deploy against a Solaris instance of iAS6.0 SP2.
    no problems.
But the other day I totally blew up the app server (corrupted registry,
had to restore from tape backup).
All I did was the same thing I've been doing for 4 months or more. Make
a few changes, re-jar my WAR file, and redeploy.
But it fails after a couple of registry loads, completely truncates the
registry file and in short, if there were no backup, it would be iAS
    re-install time.
java.lang.IlegalStateException: internal assert: where is the <ClassImp>
    key?

    Hi,
Well, it's difficult to tell where the problem is, would appreciate if
more information is mentioned about the error messages, the O/S, the Service
    Pack of iAS.
    Regards
    Raj

  • The Insert Key in Macbook Pro (Middle 2009)

    Hello,
I'm looking for the Insert Key in the Macbook Pro.
    I found that : http://www.hjaltilava.info/2009/07/01/insert-key-on-macbook-pro-keyboard/
I tried it, but it didn't work.
This key is necessary in a simulator like FlightGear.
    Someone have idea ?
    Thanks !

SnqKe, there is no Insert key to find for the Mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
Software such as [KeyRemap4MacBook|http://pqrs.org/macosx/keyremap4macbook> can allow the emulation of keys not on the keyboard. If it doesn’t already have an option to emulate an Insert key, the author of KeyRemap4MacBook is quite willing to add new options to the software — he has added a few on my request.
For FlightGear in particular, it comes with its own key binding files, so even without any key remapping software installed, you could modify FlightGear’s data/input/keyboard.xml file to change the key of the script that is normally bound to the Insert key.

  • What command/key is equivalent to the insert key on a Windows-based PC?

Whenever I type in Microsoft Word, I type over already typed words. I somehow unknowingly pressed a command/key, since Word wasn't like this before. But I did notice that this is the same result of the insert key on a Windows-based PC. The only problem is that I don't think there is a specific insert key on the iBook. So does anyone know the command or key?

    Hi,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
Word has its own keyboard shortcuts. Open Word and click on Help. Type keyboard shortcuts in the search box and you'll generate quite a list of topics.

  • Where's the timeline key frames button in Elements 10?

I've just installed Premiere Elements 10 on my new iMac.  I've noticed that the add/remove key frames button on the left of the video tracks in the timeline appears only in track one and yet, in illustrations on the help pages (and in earlier versions of PE) the button appears alongside each track.
So how do I make that button appear?
    Many thanks.

My thanks for your interest.  I have thanked Robert for his contribution.
Best wishes for the forum.  It's a great asset.

I would say that it's a programming Bug in the GUI display, as the Keyframe operations buttons SHOULD appear for all Tracks. However, Robert had the workaround. Bug Report. Note: PrE shows up in the Photoshop Family. Good luck, and thank you Robert, Hunt

  • Where is the Product key of Apple Mobile Device support?

Where is the Product Key of a iPhone 4?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Mobile Device Support entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
