Yes. You can make a shortcut to that folder and put it on the desktop.
3) I also have some music files witin the finder showing up under "all my files". What should I do with these?
Don't do anything with them.
If you are using the Search at top right of a Finder window, that simply finds files anywhere. -
Where should I place graphic files?
Setting up a new machine with external Sonnet drives. Should I place non time code files such as graphics, Motion files, music, etc. on the external drives? Or is it OK to place these files on an internal drive? Also, best place for render files, auto save, and thumbnail folders? Really appreciate any input.
Thanks again,
TomThere is no single correct answer to this. I store graphics files on a non-boot internal drive volume, inside a folder at the top level named, imaginatively Graphics, sub-foldered by project names.
Likewise, at the same level, I have a folder named Music Cuts, and, also arranged in folders by project names, individual folders with the music inside. I also have a folder named Audio, which contains, inside project folders, VOs and SFX.
I hope that makes sense.
Periodically, I will drag the Graphics, Music, and Audio folders to a CD (or DVD, when the folders get too large for a CD), along with the FCP Projects folder from the boot volume. (As with the others, project files are organized in folders named with the project names), and burn the disc for archival purposes. I label the disc with the date and the names of the top level folders.
From time to time, I will delete all aged files and folders that haven't seen any use in a good long while. By that time, I have several copies of them on several discs.
Many years ago, I did the same thing, but back then I was saving to a 3.5" floppy. That's how old my practice is. -
Where do I place Edge files when publishing Muse to BC?
The only thing I've been able to find on this is from older versions of Edge and Muse.
What I've read suggests that we have to put all the edge.html and edge.js files at the root level with the other html pages. That leaves the Edge Includes in their own separate folder.
I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THIS TO WORK.
I may be able to double-click the edge.HTML file to play in a browser, but when I try to play it after publishing from Muse – no luck.
I also wonder what happens when I want to put Edge animations on multiple pages within a Muse website. It seems with the root level would become crowded with so many Edge files. And how do all those “Edge includes” folders get renamed?
I would love to see tighter integration between Edge and Muse. But for now, I would be very happy just to be able to play my Edge animations in published Muse sites. As much as I'd like to use it, I can't use Edge if I can't get the animations to play in Muse.
Thanks for any help...Hello,
You probably did not find this article at the right time but there is one KB article explaining how to insert the Edge content into a Muse website.
Basically what you have to do is, after you publish the Edge project, to take the exported folder, or just the files, (but I'm totally into taking taking the whole folder) and upload them to your FTP where the Muse site is published. After that just use the "Object > Insert HTML..." option from Muse and paste the <iframe> code from the KB and customize the path to the folder where the files are located and the width & height for the iframe.
KB can be accessed here: http://www.adobekb.com/inserting_edge_content.html
An example can be found here.
- Edge project uploaded to FTP.
- Content of the project folder.
- HTML code
I hope this will answer your question.
Cheers,

how can I save a page and all its component parts in a single file, like IE does as an MHT?
It's much easier for mailing to people where page address not available?? (as in output from an airline booking site, for example)
It is simply too painful to have to zip everything up into a single file to send. MHT format has been available for years now from IE, and with every new FF release it's the first thing I look for. I have been using FF for years, and hate having to come out of it, over into IE |(which I even took out of startup) and key everything in again, in order to send somebody something in a convenient format that they can open with a single click.
I can't believe this hasn't been asked before, so have you looked at it and rejected it? Have MS kept the file format secret?
Thanks
MGThis is not really an answer just my comments on your question.
I am sure I recollect efforts being made to get mhtml to work with FF.
Probably the important thing to remember about .mhtml is that if other browsers do support it they may need addons, and may not necessarily render the content correctly/consistently.
There are FF addons designed for archiving webpages, you could try them, but that then assumes the recipient has the same software.
You could simply save the page from FF to your XP pc; then offline open it with and save it using IE, before then emailing using FF, and attaching the .mht or mhtml file that you have now created on your PC.
As an alternative method, in some cases it could be worth considering taking a screen grab of the required page, then sending that to the recipient as a single email attatchment using either a bitmap or jpeg file format for instance.
Something such as an airline booking may be designed with a print option, possibly it could be worthwile looking at sending the print file itself as an email attachment. -

the *.jar file thing is a common problem in Java. One simple solution to the problem is by saving the *.jar file in the C:\j2sdk1.4.0\jre\lib\ext\ folder. This directory is an extension to the regular java files and by doing this, java will look in this directory if you import some other files not included in the java package. This does not work if you are using JBuilder, couse JBuilder installs its own jsdk, which is uses, probably under the JBuilder folder.

I have copied "places.sqlite" and given it a .txt extension, then opened in Wordpad - but it's huge - I don't know what order it's in and many of the URLS are written backwards - like "moc.smooretal.www" instead of "www.laterooms.com."
Similarly there are several numbered versions of sessionstore.js in the profile and these can be opened with a text editor too. But if I simply substitute the current sessionstore.js file with an older (numbered) one in the profile, Firefox seems to ignore it.
So:
1. Is there a method of re-installing the "history" sites list or "previously opened pages and tabs" from the 'places.sqlite' file, or from a previous sessionstore.js file (and if so how do I go about it ?)
2. If not, is there an alternative source of browsing history back-up which I can use or
3. If not that either, is there at least a way of reversing the backwards text so I can read the URLs and copy/paste them?
All knowledgeable help much appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
PeterFirefox has other backups it makes automatically, unfortunately your cleaning utility may have wiped them.
#First step backup manually whatever you have
#*''' edit''' <s>[[backing up and restoring backups]]</s><br/> [[backing up and restoring bookmarks]]
#Second step find and copy all of your profile folder and all the sub files and sub folders
## easiest method of finding it is <br> Help -> Troubleshooting Information -> Profile [Open containing folder] <br/>The places.sqlite is a database that contains all your bookmarks and history, if this exists and is not corrupt then your bookmarks library should work and allow you to create backups.
##*see [[backing up your information]]
## put it somewhere safe your Windows desktop will do
.JSON files are the backup files, either created manually or by firefox
sessionstore.js files probably are of little use to you, containing only the tabs & windows from recent close downs, not the full history and bookarks.
Now that any existing files are safe try to see if any backups exist that firefox created automatically
* these would be in a folder within the profile
* they can most easily be used by opening the bookmarks library, as explained in the article linked above.

When downloading a large file, like a movie, Internet Explorer automatically opens a download window offering the choice to "Open" or "Save"the file. This provides one with the choice of where to save it - e.g. "C" drive, in the "My Documents" or "Desktop" folders but Firefox's download window doesn't. This has always frustrated me because I would rather use Firefox exclusively to access the Internet, but when it comes to saving files downloaded off the Internet, sadly, I have to revert to IE!
If you click on Firefox from the upper-left, then Options, a new window should appear. On that window, click on the general tab. In the middle of the window, you'll see options regarding your downloads, one of which says, "Always ask me where to save files." Click on the bubble for this options, then click Ok. From then on, you should always be prompted on where you want your files saved.

Is there an easy way to place emails received on my iPad into a junk file like you can do on the iMac by using a junk icon to stop certain emails from reoccuring?
You would need to first set up a junk folder, once that is done, when you are previewing message there is an icon on top of a folder with an arrow inside it, tap on it, this is the move action, in the folder list that now appears tap on the junk folder.

Where do I place the different parts of the HTML 5 published files on a web page?
I recently published an HTML 5 canvas document from Flash. Once the files are published where do they go on a web page? For example, lets say I had 3 animations published from Flash as HTML canvas objects. The files go on different parts of page, let's say in 3 different places in the body. Flash outputs the HTML file, JavaScript file, and whatever images in an 'images' folder. I'm not sure where I would place all these files on my web site. I know the JavaScript goes in the head of the index page. However, where do the other parts go? Further, if I have multiple HTML canvas objects how do I separate the code.
All of the tutorials demonstrate how to publish the file, but give no assistance on how to place the file or files on a web page.
Below is example code from a sample files:
<html>
<head>

From this line: <body onload="init();" style="background-color:#D4D4D4">, you want to take the onload="init();" part and add it to the <body> tag of the About page. Where to I place downloaded .action and .app files
Where do I place the automator action .action and .app files I download for installation. I noticed some load themselves auto into Automator whereas other need to be manually placed in a folder somewhere?
Message was edited by: Todd Lichtenwalter1
Message was edited by: Todd Lichtenwalter1For actions, you can use Automator to install them. There is an option in it's File menu for that.
Apps saved with Automator are self contained and can be used from anywhere, as long as that meets the conditions you imposed on actions in the workflow itself. For example, if you set an action to depend on a specific location, then it would likely matter. -

Where does one find the "file browser" option in V10 like the one in V2
The file browser was more or less the precursor to bridge in photoshop elements 1,2 and 3 and photoshop 7 and cs, except it was built into the actual application instead of being separate like bridge.
The file browser was not an organizer as such, which was also along side the file browser in photoshop elements 3 on windows.
