Where to set external system credential?

Hi,
I am trying to use external system (business system) to post message. Then I noticed I cannot find somewhere to set the password (also refer as "secret key" as in "POST /api/external_systems/authentication")
In another thread, it was mentioned: "For provisioning we created what is called an external system, but this only currently works with the provisioning end point. If you go to admin settings => provisioning => "Enable provisioning via external system" you can see the feature"
What is a "provisioning end point"? Is it a paid feature?
Thanks,
Wei

Hi sogoImotley:
Thanks for your reply. The problem for us is that I cannot find Admin Settings => Provisioning => "Enable provisioning via external system" (No "Provisioning" section from the list on left -- see my screenshot attached)
Where can I find it?
Thanks,
Wei

    Hi,
I am trying to test web service invocation via JAX-WS proxy generation on Jdeveloper 11g.
When I test client code, I got following error message.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Jaxrpc 1.1 method is not supported.

From a forum discussion, it was suggested to add following java parameter in the path.
    -Ddebug=true -Djavax.xml.rpc.ServiceFactory=oracle.j2ee.ws.client.ServiceFactoryImpl -Djavax.xml.soap.SOAPConnectionFactory=oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.client.p2p.HttpSOAPConnectionFactory -Djavax.xml.soap.SOAPFactory=oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.soap.SOAPFactoryImpl-Dweblogic.log.Log4jLoggingEnabled=true -Djbo.debugoutput=console
I can not find where to set this parameter under "Tools"->"Preferences". Is there any place in IDE that I can set this value?

The parameters are defined in the Run configuration of your application. You find the Run configuration in the project properties under run. Open the 'Default' configuration, there you find the java properties where you put the parameters.

  • Adapter setting for external system

    Hi,
I have to connect external data system with CRM for BP & products.
What type of adapter are available in CRM 4.0 to connect  to external system?
What are the setting & where are located in CRM
How to ensure that import is done 100% correct?
    Your reply is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sush

    Hi Sush,
If you have to carry out an initial load for the master data, you can use the LSMW and DX-WB(Data Transfer Workbench). The DX-WB updates IDocs in the CRM-XIF format via the main memory into the application. You can use the LSMW to generate such IDocs. The only requirement for this file is that mapping to the CRM-XIF IDoc must be possible for it. This mapping is defined in the LSMW.
IDoc types CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M01, CRMXIF_PARTNER_REL_SAVE_M01 and CRMXIF_PRODUCT_SAVE_M01 in Transaction WE30. These are used in the LSMW and DX-WB.
    Or
you can use a 3rd party EAI tool which can execute XML/SOAP calls. Then function modules CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE, CRMXIF_PARTNER_REL_SAVE, and CRMXIF_PRODUCT_SAVE can be called by means of XML/SOAP and execute the mapping of the customer structures to the CRM-XML.
Check for the OSS notes 448742 for more details.
    Please reward with points.

  • System time was set externally in the past.

    Hi Gurus,
In our production system, several warning messages have come up System time was set externally in the past. Wait 1 second(s).
But when i checked the system time it showing the same as OS's.
Could you please throw some information around this and how these warnings can be avoided?
    Thanks
    Sabya
    BASIS ENTHUSIAST

    Hi Sabyasachi,
    What's your OS Version?
Is your SAP application hosted on Windows Server.
    Please check-out SAP Note-447839.
Also to brief you about this common issue where in sometimes the OS time is reset back in the past and the SAP application observes this an warning and in severe situations as an ABAP dump.
On windows server, if the automatic synchronization of timezone is enabled it synchronizes to a master time server. Actually this should be fine, but in case of Windows server, what happens is that every time the synchronization happens from a master time server, the SAP server gets a hard reset i.e. Sudden decrease of time at the time of synchronization like from 11:45 AM to 10:45 AM. This kind of behavior affects the applications running on the server. This should have been soft reset i.e. 11:45 AM time should go back in time in fractions over the entire week (Soft Reset) until it is synced in real time. SAP applications running on windows server implemented with Hard reset of Time are absolutely not supported and in that case the hard reset must be refrained at all costs. Refer SAP Note 447839 for further details.
To narrow down the root cause of OS time shifts you can run a watchdog tool SAP time trace tool which logs the OS time every 5secs, so the next time whenever this occurs in the system it can be investigated what happened to the OS time at that instance.
If the described case matches with your scenario, you can disable the Automatic time synchronization feature on the windows server.
    Regards,
    Akshay

    Hi,
Time zone can be changed at SAP level and this reflects at database level.
Have look at these transactions.. Check your logs and see wthhr someone changed the time zones.(sm20/st03(n)/stad)

  • Calling a web service in external system from SRM

    Hi folks,
A web service is created in the external system and I need to access this web service from a BADI. Can you tell me how can I call this web service (the external system is giving me a URL) and how I'll get a return. Please let me know in detail.
    Thanks,
    Prem

    Prem,
Hi. You can call the service via HTTP protocol. Pass them values (SET_DATA), and receive a response (GET_DATA), via xml/html.
In your code you would need to create the xml data to pass them, and evaluate the returned xml.
    Process...
    Data setup
    1) Create the XML to send them
    Working with the external service
    2) Open the HTTP connection
    2a) cl_http_client=>create_by_url (IF_HTTP_CLIENT)
    2b) lr_client->authenticate
    3) Call the to send them the XML
    3a) lr_client->request->set_data
    3b) lr_client->send
    4) Call the lr_client->receive to return the response
    5) Close the connection lr_client->close
    Data evaluate
    6) Evaluation the returned XML and process.
    Hope this helps

It depends, if it's a static IP address for your machine, it should be OK for this one IP address; if it is a dynamic IP address in a range, you can input the IP address range which contains this mentioned IP address
157.55.225.241, or update the changed address to date.

  • Cannot "Complete" Service Desk Messages in External System

    Hello Solution Manager Experts!
I have an issue where we had two Solution Manager Service Desks and needed to consolidate into one.  As part of that exercise, we set up an external service desk relationship between the old service desk (call it SID OLD) and the new service desk (call it SID NEW).  When sending the service desk messages from OLD to NEW via the action (Send to External Service Desk) we can only set the status to "Accepted", and the status "Completed" is grayed out for the service desk message that resides in the NEW system.  In the NEW system, under the Transaction Details-->Transaction Analysis there an error indicating that the message can only be closed by the external system (OLD).  However, in the OLD system, the original message is already set to "Complete", and I am no longer able to do anything with the original service desk message.  Even if I make another copy of the message in the OLD system and resend the copy to the NEW system (as status "new"), I still cannot mark the service desk message "Complete".  In the OLD system, even of this copy of the service desk message is something other then Complete, I cannot mark it complete and synchronize with the new system.  I get an error in the old system that says that "The problem message is locked in external system SM_NEWCLNT030_SERVDESK", which is obviously a reference to the RFC destination for the new external service desk.
How can I go back into the NEW system and change the message to "Complete"?  Additionally, even if I could close the message in OLD and synchronize with NEW, I am curious how I would get around this issue if the OLD Solution Manager service desk needed to be decommissioned, and was no longer available, this would still be an issue of closing out service desk messages to a status of "Complete".  Is there some kind of program I can run agains certain service desk message numbers which will "break" that relationship with the OLD service desk so I can set those messages that originated in OLD to be "Complete" in NEW?
Any service desk messages that are created directly in NEW can be closed out to "Completed".  This is an issue that is only a problem with  messages that originated in OLD.  I hope this makes sense.
    Your input is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I found a workaround by going into the status profile in the NEW system, double clicking on the CONF status, changed "To be distributed"  to "allowed" and "set".  Then I backed up one screen so I could see all my status's; and then in the last column of the CONF status in the column labled "Trans.", I set it to RELE instead of FINI.
This enables me to set the "completed" messages from my legacy (OLD) system to "completed" in my (NEW) system.  Once I have all the status's set, I'll set the status profile entry for CONF back to the way it was.

  • How to call RFC from external System to get HR Data

According to the requirement the "HR" Workflow has to be able to view the employee details from external system Using the standard Microsoft connectors.
So, my job is to create an RFC where i need to fetch the HR data from the infotypes P0001 and P0002. And they will call this RFC by requesting employees surname, ID number and/or Employee number.
Do i need to simply write OPEN SQL statements in RFC or
do i need to call any BAPI's?
Setting up RFC's(Creation of Destinations) is not our job.
Someone Please help me in this regard with some valuable input. Thanks in Advance.
    Ram.

    Hi Ram,
to get the information from HR sytem you could call the BAPI

  • Issue with TTE - External System ID does not exist!

    Hi dear Gurus,
We followed the SAP Best Practice to set up our CRM 5.0 system and it seems to have opened the Pandora's box for us. When we try to create a service contract, there was an error message in the header complaining that the external system does not exist. Here is what the HELP tells us:
    In Customizing for TTE,
    1. Choose Assign Objects from External Systems
    2. Choose External System IDs
    3. Maintain system ID for the calling system BC5CLNT005
    4. Choose Save
However, when we get into IMG, under 'Assign Objects from External Systems', there is NO external system ID to choose. Why is this? Is it because our system is on a different patch level?
    Any idea would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Leon

I have similar problem how did you solve this issue?
Your input will help me analyze the issue?
Is it because of the client we where in to is the Productive client not the customizing client?

  • Publish idocs to external system

    Hi,
We have a business requirement to publish Idocs to an external system, however we don't have any kind of middleware to perform that action.
Since it is HR master data, we can use change pointers internal table, to create a flat file with that data, and the external system could read it from a shared folder.
Do you know other options to send idocs to that external system? There is any function to publish idoc via webservices for example?
How can I solve it technically?
    Thanks in advance!
