Which database options do I have?

Hi!
How can I find out which options I have in my 9i base? The question for this, is that the database is the one bundled with 9iAS, and I do not know which options it comes with. I need to know that in order to upgrade it to 9.0.1.4.

You can't even call customer service to talk to someone live to help walk you through.

Please let me know if you have tried converting any other PDF to word with Reader.
Alos, please sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials. Click on 'ExportPDF' tab and upload the PDF that you want to convert to Word.
Let me know if this converts fine.

And what is the point of all this? CS3 is now 7 years old and Office 2003 just the same. Yes, sometimes software has bugs and compatibility issues. Beyond there is nothing here to discuss on either end, given the circumstances...

Are you tapping on the field you want to enter data into? That opens the soft keyboard. If you touch the field and hold it, the paste option will appear.

Where did you get iDVD to put on your Mac? The downloading themes are no longer available from Apple. If you copied it from a Mac that had all the themes look for the iDVD folder on that Mac which should be in the HD/Library/Applications Support folder or the Users/Home/Library/Applications Support folder. Copy it to the HD/Library/Applications Support folder for Mt Lion.
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides themes from iDVD 5-7. The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:

You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.

Error in Database Options Configuration

My Teststan installation includes TS4.1 and TS3.5. Under c:\ProgramFieles\NationalInstruments I have dir 'TestStand' and also 'TestStand35'.
I'm running an application written in TS3.5 and it run fine. However, when I select the 'Database Options' I get the following run-time error:
An error occurred calling 'DisplayDatabaseOptionsDialog' in '_CTsDBOptions' of 'TestStand Database Options'
-2147417851; User-defined error code.
Possible System Error: The server threw an exception.
Step 'Database Option - Display Dialog' of sequence 'Edit Database Options' in 'Database.seq'
The file 'Database.seq' is included in the 2 TestStand directories. How do I know which file TS is trying to access?

Rafi -
Before you do a repair, have you run the TestStand Version Selector again to ensure that the correct TestStand engine and the correct Database Options server is registered? Then see if the problem still occurs.
When you get the error, you should be able to break on the error, right click on the step select a command in the context menu to request the sequence editor to open the sequence file for the step, then look at the path of the file to determine which file is being run.

Database options under UCM

With regard to this thread: Few interesting facts about database under UCM 10g what Oracle database options can be effectively used under UCM? The comprehensive overview of the options can be obtained here: http://www.oracle.com/us/products/database/options/index.html
Real Application Clusters* - this option can be used to increase the database performance and availability. It is fully transparent to applications.
Partitioning* - this option can affect performance, enable hierarchical storage management (using cheaper hardware to store large amount of data) and help with disaster recovery (backup/restore). I believe, if documents are stored in the database, this option is a must. Even if a project does not use HSM, partitioning of large tables such as FILESTORAGE will enable: a) faster backups - once a partition is "closed", it will not change - therefore, future backups can work only with "open" partitions and unpartitioned data; b) faster restores - large tables can only be partially restored - e.g. few "last months" and the system can be running whilst restoring the remaining data. Watch out for partitioning of metadata tables, though (DOCMETA, REVISIONS, DOCUMENTS)! At least, there are no clear criteria how these tables should be partitioned - and various checks and validations may actually require to have those tables restored fully before you may perform such basic operations like check-in.
Advance Security* and Database Vault* - these options may increase security, when content is stored in the database (no one, not even administrators might be able to reach the content unless authorized). The only drawback to that is that even if content is stored in the database, in initial phases it is anyway stored in the filesystem (vault), too, and the minimum retention period is 1 day
I will also mention two options that might look appetizing, but UCM probably does not benefit from them too much:
Advanced Compression* - compresses data in the database. This, and Hybric Columnar Compression used in Exadata, can do the real magic when working with structured data (just read a report from Turkcell, who compressed 600 TB to 50 TB, which means by 12). For unstructured data, such as PDF or JPEG, the effect might be very small, though. Still, if you have a chance, give it a try.
Active Data Guard* - Data Guard is a technology for disaster recovery. Advantage of Active Data Guard is that it allows using of the secondary location for read only operations, rather than leaving it idle (stand-by); this means, you might decrease sizing of both locations. With UCM, also do not forget about CONTENT TRACKER (which might require a "write" operation even for otherwise read only ones, such as DOC_INFO, GET_SEARCH_RESULTS, or retrieving a content item), but db gurus know how to handle even that. Unfortunately, Active Data Guard cannot be used with UCM at the moment, because not all the data is stored in the database and the secondary location might not be fully synchronized.
In my opinion, other options are not so relevant for a UCM solution.

Compression and Deduplication of SecureFiles LOBs, which is part of the Advanced Compression Option, can potentially deliver huge space savings, and performance benefits. If the content is primarily Office documents, or XML documents, or character-based (email?), then it will likely compress very well. Also, if the same file is stored multiple times, deduplication will cause the Oracle database to store only one copy, rather than storing the same document multiple times. Delete a database option is not available in DBCA

I have HP-UX 11v3. I have installed Oracle Standard Edition 10.2.0.1 and after that I installed 10.2.0.4 Patch Set.
I configured two databases using DBCA. At the end I save scripts (not create database) and run script from shell.
The databases are up and running.
I tried to delete one database through DBCA, but option Delete a database (and also "Configure Databse Option") is not available, they are grey.
What is the problem? What should I do to get option to delte both databases from DBCA?

LovroDBCA reads the ORATAB file on Unix to determine what databases exist to be dropped (and DBUA does the same to determine which databases are to be upgraded). Most likely the ORATAB file does not contain an uncommented entry for your database.

I have installed Cisco UCCX 9.0.2 and trying to access Database option under Subsystems but unfortunately it is not listed under Subsystems menu.
Snapshot is attached..
Is it a licensing issue or something else has to be done?

The database subsystem is available if your system has a license installed for
either the Unified IP IVR or Unified CCX Premium product packages. If you are
not using Unified CCX applications that require access to databases, you do not
need to provision the Database subsystem.

Manage Database option

I am using the DBA module in SQL Developer (3.0.04) and when I right-click on the database connection and select "Manage Database", I am prompted for a Password for the user I am successfully connected as in the main SQL Developer window. However, I am never able to connect successfully via the "Manage Database" option. After I enter my password and click Apply, the window that appears in the right pane shows "*Database Overall State: Invalid Username/Password*". I am trying to connect as a user that has DBA privilege and I also tried as the SYSTEM user.
I know for a fact the password is correct, however no matter what account I use, I keep receiving this error.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
Check the properties of the database connection. Perhaps you are specifying the default role rather than the SYSDBA role. That goes into the credential, of course. Unfortunately the first half of the error message is somewhat misleading, but ultimately does ask you to check the credential.
You can run this query on a connection with proper privileges to see which users are permitted SYSDBA.

"-2147417851" during "Get Database Options" of the process model

Hi guys, I am trying to find the cause for this error message, would greatly appreciate if someone can advise me on what can cause this.
The exact step where this error occured is shown in the screenshot attached.
Also, the only thing that I know about this step is it "read database options" from a location on disk.
Does anyone know what file it reads from, and perhaps, which part of the file?

The "Read Database Option - Read Options" step calls the ReadDatabaseOptions method which takes two parameters (Parameters.DatabaseOptions and Parameters.CfgDir).
Parameters.CfgDir is simply a string. But you'll notice that Parameters.DatabaseOptions is a container (named type: DatabaseOptions). Most likely what is happening here is that by using the TestStand 2.0.1 process model, you've carried over the old DatabaseOptions type definition and are now passing it to the new TestStand Database Logging server's ReadDatabaseOptions method, which expects the DatabaseOptions container to have a boolean field called UseTransactionProcessing.
I recommend upgrading the DatabaseOptions type to the TestStand 2010 SP1 version. More so, I recommend porting your TestStand 2.0.1 process model customizations to the TestStand 2010 SP1 process model to ensure you avoid encountering other situations similar to this.

Does the Repair Database Option Remove Duplicates?

My main question is does the repair database option also delete some duplicates? I ask because I recently had an issue with importing some duplicates. Before tackling the process of removing the dups, I decided to go ahead and repair the database since I imported a bunch of files and wanted to make sure everything was working correctly. After the repair database completed, I noticed that I had about 2k fewer images in my database. Luckily I had backed it up before I ran the repair. I opened up the backup and so far all I see missing are some of the dups. I spot checked at least 10 different projects and all the original masters seem to be there.
I wasn't aware that repair would actually remove files. I wish it would have removed all of them but I still kind of find this to be weird as that was an unexpected function. What do you guys think?

Neither of the first aid options, repair or rebuild, intentionally target duplicates. Any files removed by either of those procedures were removed because of some inconsistency in the database.
After either of those run you might see a new project in your library named Recovered. This contains any orphaned image files, files for which Aperture could not place in a project.

You can use sp_dbrecovery_order to configure more important databases to be recovered earlier. You must be in the master database and have system administrator privileges to usesp_dbrecovery_order to enter or modify a user-defined recovery order. Any user, in any database, can use sp_dbrecovery_order to the user-defined recovery order of databases. SeeReference Manual: Procedures.
sp_dbrecovery_order has an additional parameter indicating the online ordering.
sp_dbrecovery_order [database_name [, rec_order [, force [ relax | strict ]]]]
relax â€“ the databases are made as they recover (default).
strict â€“ the databases are specified by the recovery order.
The default is relax, which means that databases are brought online immediately when recovery has completed.

Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it.
In Control Panel, Portable Media Devices, double-click your iPod.
In the Tools menu -> Options, in the View Tab, check "Show hidden files and folders."
Navigate to the Music folder. On my 'pod, the full path is
Portable Media Devices\NAME of IPOD (F:)\iPod_Control\Music
Select all the music folders, and drag and drop them into a folder on your hard drive, or directly into iTunes.
And you're done! The iPod music folder structure is strange and inexplicable, but once you move your files into iTunes you can set it to automatically organize your folder by artist and album to clean that up. (To do this, in iTunes Edit menu, choose Preferences and in the Advanced tab, check "Keep iTunes Music Folder organized."
