Balance sheet G/L account posting is not captured in the SLR budget report
My case:
While posting a schedule agreement ( which is account assigned to "project make to order"), to G/L account, the following warning message comes.
" G/L account is a balance sheet account".
Although I am able to post the scheduled agrrement to that G/L account, but my slr budget report does not capture this commitmnet cost (commitment management is active for present financial year).
Further for the cost to be captured in the budget report the G/L account should exist as cost element ( as from my observation).
I observed that , that particualr G/L account ( which is a balance sheet account) is not present as a cost element .
My CO colleagues says that it is not advisible to create cost element for a balance sheet G/L account as it may lead to mismatch in the cost flow.
Now , how can the cost be captured in the budget report for this G/L posting.
Please suggest some feasible and correct solution.Hi Vishal......
As I think ...here we have to take P & L account ...becouse cost can be booked only in P & L with revenue...for that we can see commitment too..balancesheet account are direct account ....like Bank account ..........
please rewards the points if useful

Aging Report does not match Balance Sheet Receivables/Payables Account
Hi experts,
I am requesting your help to find out why our customer receivables/vendor payables aging reports total does not match our balance sheet accounts receivable/ accounts payable account for the same period.
I would expect
Customer Receivables Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet Accounts Receivables Account
Vendor Aging Report Total = Balance Sheet Accounts Payables Account
Thank you.
JaneWhen you run the report with an ending/aging date in the past (like the end of last month), if you do not display BP's with zero balances, it will leave out BP's who have a zero balance AT THE TIME YOU RUN THE REPORT. Some of them may have had a non-zero balance at the end of the month, but they will be left off anyway. So if a customer owed money on the last day of the month and he paid it on the first of the next month, his balance will not be shown on the report if you run it even one day later.
I feel this is a design defect in the report, but it is the system behavior.

Regarding profit center wise balance sheet , profit & loss account
dear all
here my client is having more than 200 legal entities. All leagal entities do activies like
1) separate share capital legal entity wise
2) separte assets legal entity wise
3) IT returns legal entity wise
4) fund transfer B/W legal entities.
like they are maintaining separatly. We have decided to treat each entity as a profit centre. We are aware of the fact that profit centre is only used for internal purpose. But in order to reduce the load of master data we have decided to go with it .
Now my question is
weather profit centre will fulfill all the statutory requirement for a legal entity ?
Regards
Babu KYou can configure new GL accounting for your client. Activate Document splitting at profit center level to get complete set of financial statements at profit center level.

Balance sheet values to COPA/PCA
Hello all
We need to allocate and take few Balance Sheet account values as well to COPA OR PCA for finer reporting, any pointers on this shall be very helpful?
Thanks
BallaHi Balla,
Can we understand the business requirement a bit more clearly. I'll put down the background as per my understanding.
1. PCA - the requirement is to have the balance sheet at profit center wise - If you are using ECC6.0 all you need to do is set up document splitting functionality. Once this is done, all the documents (P/L and B/S) will have the profit center mandatorily and the balance sheet is possible at PC level. Of course you can imaging that with this PCA has become redundant.
2. COPA - I do not understand why a balance sheet item will come to balance sheet should come to any profitablity analysis ever? As I'm analysing the profitability at any level i will not require the balance sheet item in any case unless you are trying to achieve something else with COPA. Do you want to recheck the requirement or can you please explain the exact business requirement?
Best Regards

Dear All,
1) May I know balance sheet evaluation monthly activity will be reversed whereas year end will not be reversed? The practice is just like F101 balance sheet evaluation on open item?
2) Also the balance sheet currency only in local currency or can be in foreign currency.
3) what will be the impact if not run balance sheet evaluation?
ThanksHi,
There is no taker for this thread. Let me try to gain some points.
1) It denotes stock valuation. Stocks have to be valuated at the time of preparation of balance sheet as per accounting standard which says the stocks should be valued either at cost or market value whichever is lower.
2) Hence, for the case of inhouse manufactured product, the actual cost shall be taken. The actual cost is arrived by adding the per unit average variance for the whole year plus standard cost estimate.
3) This exercise shall be done once in a year as on the date of balance sheet.
4) Query not clear. Anyway, let me try. As per accounting standard, the actual cost of the inhouse manufactured materials are arrived at by suming up per unit variance plus standard cost estimate.
Trust this helps much!
Cheers!

Pulling data Information from Financial reports- Balance Sheet
Hi,
Our users have generated Balance Sheet reports in Oracle 11.5.10 and want to know how Finished Goods data is pulled into the Balance sheet. Could anyone guide me as to how I could find this information?
Thanks in advance,
VasuHi Vasu,
>How do i find out what transactions are affecting their balances and thereby affect balance sheet?
Well, as i do not have the Purchasing module, i cannot guarantee but in general you can access GL, navigate to Account/Inquiry, query the desired account and you should have a button that will let you dilldown to que transaction itself.
>In general, Purchase, sales will affect inventory. But, is there a way to see what transactions hit the inventory account ?
Use the same method.
>GL balances will only flow into Balance sheet right? So if the inventory account has any balance in GL that will only come in Balance sheet right?
All natural account balances, no matter their origin, must appers on Balance Sheet. Otherwise it will not match.

3 way match on balance sheet accounts
Hello,
Our company has decided to get away from direct FI Invoices. We want to raise POs for everything we can. We have got some annual maintenance contracts and insurance premiums for which we receive one invoice for full year. These invoices are posted to balance sheet accounts via direct FI because they are accruals and then they are posted monthly to expense accounts via recurring entries.
There is a possibility to raise a PO on a balance sheet account using Account Assignment Category '9' However once a balance sheet account is put in, there is no field available for keying in the cost centre. Our PO approvals are dependend upon the release strategy assigned to the cost centres and we dont want our POs to be live without being approved.
Is there any way of getting these POs approved without using the release strategy functionality?
Regards
KeyurHi Jeffrey,
I am not sure what you are mentioned the cost element is "B/L account" or a "P/L" account, Normally
if it is a cost element, then this G/L account should be a P/L account.
If it is a P/L account, when you run BCF PRG with flag of balance retained earng.acct, then systm
will carryforward the balance of this P/L account to transaction "BIL" account. and no balance is carryforwarded from end of prior year to the beginning of next year.
In case it is a B/L account, then the balance will be carryforwarded into next year.

Drawers in Chart of Accounts - are they Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss?
We have a customer who is using a Chinese localisation Company database.
When they created the new database, they found that there are only 6 Drawers in the Chart of Accounts. This is different from other localisations where we have 8 Drawers.
We are trying to find out which Drawers are for the Balance Sheet Report and which Drawers are for the Profit and Loss Report.
In the other localisations, the first 3 Drawers are for the Balance Sheet Report and the Drawers 4 to 8 are for the Profit and Loss Report.
Please can anyone help us.
Thank you

Thanks for the info.
There doesn't seem to be a Revenue or Turnover section. Is the Costs section like Cost of Sales or Overheads?
What is the P&L section?
Do you have any contacts in SAP China who would be able to help further? I have not been able to get any info from the Local Product Expert listed in the Channel Partner Portal, even though I have sent several emails.
Thanks
Dawn
