Which sound card is best for top quality voice to CD recordi

Hi?I want to produce very good quality voice recordings on my computer to then burn to CD, I'm baffled by the range of soundcards available. I dont need theatre suround sound etc, I just want to make mono low noise recordings (using Audigy). Your recommendations would be much appreciated. Regards?Tony

I would suggestion the new Creative Professional line of cards by EMU are designed to work with professional equipment which have an Optical, Coaxial SPDIF, Midi I/O etc...... on them. More information can be found on these cards at www.emu.com and they are listed as Digital Audio Systems.

The 15"retina version has these three options for graphics

The later two are kinda out of budget and i also think that these are way more than what i be actually needing. So, will Intel iris graphic be fine or i should look for some other machine (Dell or ASUS) with NVIDIA graphics since apple has no options for NVIDIA in lower versions.

I'm about to jump in and buy my first editing system and will be getting the Mac Pro 3GHz system. What I can't figure out is whether the standard NVIDIA GeForce 7300 will be enough for running FCP 5 and the other bundled programs like Motion 2 or even After Effects. Apple offers getting 2 or 3 of these cards before going up to the ATI X1900. Is there any benefit to doing that? Cost is a bit of a factor otherwise I'd just jump in and get the more expensive card. Does anyone have any advice on whether the standard should do the trick?

Ultimately it recommended that a 3GHz Mac Pro with the ATI X1900 XT and 4GB RAM or more be used for anyone using Final Cut Studio 5.1 (or higher whenever there is a higher).
Although if there were financial contraints and it we me, the first place I would start cutting is the processors and then leave them at the standard 2.66GHz. I wouldn't skimp on the GPU or RAM. One option you can take however is to go with the 3GHz model and with the standard Nvidia 7300GT and then buy the ATI card separately at a later time. While you do pay an extra $US150 for this it will aloow you to spread your costs a bit more.

I really like the Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset. I have tried a lot of the ones on the market and the Plantronics one that I now use has - a long battery life, excellent sound quality and very low background noise. I occasionally use it when in a vehicle (although I do try to avoid doing this) and people on the other end of the line don't even realise that I am in a car.

 I just downloaded Rolling Patch 1 for WLS6.0SP2.
 While reading the README file it says
 " ISSUE 42518: Provided a way to set which NIC card to use for multicast traffic
 Can anyone tell me how to set this?. on my WebApplication server it has two NIC
 cards and I want to use the NICcard which is being used to talk to internal network
 for multicast messages.
 One more thing,
 Can anyone one tell how to search for bugs (ISSUES) in weblogic. I am looking
 place where I enter ISSUE number and should get the detailed description of bug/issue
 etc..

Which battery was the best for endurance for Satellite A100-999

I have just been given an A100-999 and I wanted to know which battery was the best for endurance.
From what I have seen it is the pa3400u-1brs but i just wanted confirmation as I am planning to buy it in Japan as it is probably cheaper.
Also, is there any information on how long this battery lasts?

Which imac would work best for Graphic Design?

I am a Graphic Designer, currently using Creative Suite 2 (soon to be upgraded to CS3) and I need a new Mac for home. A Powermac takes up too much space, so I'm thinking about an imac with a 24" monitor and I have a few questions for the experts:)
Which imac would work best for graphics?
Is the monitor acurate for Pantone color matching?
Is the 24"monitor on the imac clear and bright?
Is Leopard a stable OS?
I also need an (inexpensive) color laser printer. Any suggestions?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
The 24" iMac uses a superior LCD panel to the 20" model and so is certainly better suited to your purposes. I don't know how badly having a piece of glass in front of the display would affect you as a designer though.
The display certainly is clear and bright. I use it on it's lowest brightness setting.
Leopard is stable but it's worth checking that drivers for any devices that you currently rely on are available. For example I have to go back to my 10.4.11 iMac G4 to use my scanner. Personally I can't get iCal to alarm in Leopard but that's a fairly minor gripe.
As this is the forum for much older iMacs I'd suggest re-posting in the Intel iMac forum and even Mac OS 10.5 Printing forums for better informed opinion:

I Recommend the iPad Mini Retina, it's not to big, and not to small. It has the speed of the iPad Air due to it having the same 64 Bit chips. ( And it's a lot cheaper!!) I have one myself and it's perfect for my school work!

It is not possible to provide guidance on what career path you should take. This is a conversation you need to have with a Career Planner or perhaps one of your professors. You should follow the path you are most interested in, be it a functional role or a technical role. Ideally you may want to consider getting some work experience in both fields, and then determine which area you wish to pursue.
You state you have an MBA in HR & System....System what?? System development? Technology? Programming? Data Warehousing? Even HR is a vast area within the SAP world. We have Payroll, Recruiting, Self Services, Compensation, Time Management, Learning Management Systems, etc. Most consultants select one or two areas to pursue. There is no such thing as a single person who knows the complete SAP HR solution...it's just too big!
I will suggest that you consider taking an SAP HR course so that you can get an idea as to how large the application is. There are lots of courses available in e-learning. I would recommend either SAPHRE or HR050E to start. Once you have completed one of these, you'll be in a better position to decide what you want to do, or at least decide what you don't want to do.

I have many novels saved under *.htm, doc and pdf.
I'm using Quick Office, but when I zoom in, I have to slide the screen from side to side just to watch the whole things, which make my eyes feel very tired.
So I need your help about which app is the best for viewing documents without sliding while zooming, I mean, when you zoom in, you just have to slide vertically to see the whole documents, and don't have to slide horizontally.

All running on Wine 1.1.7, Oblivion is running around 150 mods, and QTP3, Body mods, High res texture packs for the character skins, with HDR lighting. As you can see the FPS does not change, it fluctuated between 19-20 on all three runs.
Especially with Dual cores, you will find that games do not loose FPS even with things like a lightweight music player running in the background. Windows scheduler simply was not made for that kind of thing, and benifits alot more from a lower number of background processes. I wont say linux does not benifit, but with Dual cores and CFS, it is not really noticable anymore.
Wait, does that mean you have better performance while you are running more stuff? Does the desktop manager handle graphics better?
