I'm looking for some help on the below query to verify which version of sql server edition supports multiple or N number of sessions to the SQL server Instance using the SQL Server Management Studio tool from the client side.
SQL Standard Vs Enterprise.

I'm testing the replication, everything Works fine, but I'd like to know how many connections allow the evaluation of the SQL Server versión I'm testing on.
We are testing 2 stores with 2 server in replica with about 20 users in each side. So we can get an idea of the prices of the licences my customer have to buy.

SQL 2012 license usually is per core and/or per CAL and it depends on the edition.
All editions don't impose any limit on connections but rather on maximum memory, CPUs and other features.
You need first to decide which SQL version suits your needs (and your hardware) and then call for suggestions and prices.

How many Sessions can I invoke?

Hello experts,
afaik there are some limitations regarding how many sessions I can use simultanously for web service calls. I think I saw some information in this forum, but I do not find it again :-(.
I know the "20 requests per session" rule, but how many sessions can I create?

In the web service document you can find the number.
In the old document you could find a session limit of 2n+10 where n is the number of users.
The new document has no number of sessions but limiters in traffic

Iam using Oracle 10g version, front end that iam using is oracle forms6i, sometimes my system get hanged because of some session and not closed i think, can i know how can i find how many session is opened on my database.

The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS.

I am currently trying to upgrade to SQL 2014, I am using a separate UAT domain to perform the upgrade before applying the upgrade to Dev domain. I can install a clean instance of SQL 2014 DBE and MDS on the same server, create a new database and point
IIS to it and it works fine. When I backup and restore the database to another upgraded or clean install instance on another server I get the following.
The current SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS.
It is enterprise edition of SQL 2014 on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
Any ideas of how I can fix this ?

Firstly, please note, Master Data Service(MDS) is only available in the following editions of SQL Server 2014:
Enterprise
Business Intelligence
Developer
Secondly, let me explain you how SQL Server check whether the SKU is supporte for MDS.
MDS object model(where the application host) get the connection string(from the web application request)
Extract instance name from the connection string. If the connection string only has server name, the instance is the default one "MSSQSERVER"
Call Sqlboot to check whether MDS is enabled in the specified instance
So, there may have some possible causes for the error you posted:
The connection string points to a instance that is not existing
The specified instance is not a SQL Server 2014 instance
The MDS application is upgraded to 2014, however the SQL Server service is still in a low version in the same machine
The corresponding solution is:
Ensure the server, which is running MDS application, has SQL Server 2014 installed
Ensure the instance is existing, and it is 2014 version
Ensure it is a right edition of course

Hi,
we've installed SQL Server 2014 on a Windows 2008 R2 server with a namde instance for the database service.
We also installed MDS 2014 on a different server and configured it with the MDS database on de before mentioned database server.
The configuration gives no error, but when I go to the MDS site, I receive the error in the title.
We installed CU #3 on both servers, but that didn't fix it.
In related articles a possible solution is using a default database instance, but since we can't work with that, that's not really an option for us.

Do you know what's licensing you are using? Any chances you are using "Enterprise Edition: Core-based Licensing".
We fixed a similar issue in CU4. The symptom is same as "SQL Server edition is not supported by MDS".

The various session listeners - SessionListener, SessionBindingListener are usefule here.

Which SQL server edition do I need? Developer or Standard?

I currently work for a large firm using SQL Server 2012 with Management Studio - I use this to connect to our database and run querys against. I also use Visual Studio 2013 to create .rdlc report files.
I need to replicate what I'm doing for the large firm, but on a much smaller scale. All I need to be able to do is restore a database to a SQL Server that is anywhere between 10-20GB in size, use SQL Management Studio to run queries against that restored
database, and create the same type of reports I am creating using Visual Studio 2013 (.rdlc files).
I think because the database to restore is larger than 10GB I can't get away with the express edition. Can I just use the Developer edition? Or do I need the standard edition?

Development edition licenses can be used to install anything that isn't production, provided that everyone that connects to the server has their
own development license. MSDN licenses can be used as well if everyone has an MSDN license.

If you are going to do some test you are ok with developer edition otherwise you need to go for standard edition.

SQL Statement execution might be analyzed from AWR snapshots using ADDM.
You can keep AWR Snapshots as long as you like.
Bare in mind that this will occupy database space.
From the Database Home page select the Server tab and select the Automatic Workload Repository link to set Snapshot Retention

How to show the status for all CPU? Solaris 9 & 10 can support how many CPU

Hi, may i know wat is the command to show all of the CPU status? i tried use "top" command, but could show all. Any Idea?
And somemore, may I know Solaris 9 and 10 can support how many CPUs?

What do you mean all of the CPU status?
top shows you processes on all processors and for the currently running processes, it shows you which CPU a process is on.
If you want separate stats for each processor, "mpstat 5" shows cpu usage and idle etc.
As far as how many CPU's solaris supports.
The largest machine Sun sells as far as I am aware is a E25K with 72 dual core CPU's
for 144 cores. Is that big enough for you? You probably don't want to know the price though :-).

If you are going to ask questions such as these, then please indicate that you have searched and what you do already know and where & why you have a doubt somewhere which is worth discussing in the forum or sharing opinions or experiences on.
Just asking for the answer only so that you don't feel too alone when answering 6 in the interview is of little value.
Normally such "answer a, b, c, or d only or be quiet"-type-threads (like certification tests are) are deleted. That is the rules, and we have them for a reason.

My App Server is connects with min 200 users , But from last week onwards
we are facting automatically disconnecting to the app server.
What was the problem we don't know .

You need to capture any connection errors from the app server.
Otherwise we're just guessing.
The SESSIONS parameter restricts the number of open sessions (select * from v$parameter).
Presumably you're using DEDICATED server connections rather than SHARED server connections?

It appears you have to change the password first(it could the same password but an alter command needs to be done)
