While i'm scrolling the screen is blinking after the OSX 10.9.3 update
Hi,
I just updated to 10.9.3 and the screen started to blinking while I'm scrolling up and down with safari (not with firefox, but is now slow). The same thing happens while I'm changeing screens, mission control, etc.
I own a:
MacBook Pro
Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013

I have the same problem when I sroll in Safari or Mail, Mission Control actions, Finder visual animations and the dock are blinking and very slow to appear.
I use two external screens and when I click on an other screen, they all blink together, folders on the destop disapear and re-apear few seconds later.
Other software or applications don't have the probem.
When I change user to guest user, the problem is the same.
I made a recovery from a old Tilme Machine backup, je problem was resolved but a few days later, it comes again...

Please help me to resolve a problem with my iPod touch. It has horizontal line at the bottom of the screen and screen starts blinking after 3 minutes of use. It's so frustrating as I bought just 4 months ago and didn't even think tha apple products have such defects.
All electical producs have defects. Apple products are not immune.
To rule out a software problem try:
- A reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
- If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If the iPod is defective you will walk out with a replacment. -
Which version of QT 7 was/is included in the OSX 10.4.6 update
I have had 10.4.2 & QT 7.0 installed on my iMac G5 for nearly 18 months and have not had any problems whatsoever until one of my apps crashed my system over the weekend. I've done enough diagnostics to conclude that it will be simplest / easiest / fastest for me to wipe the HD and reinstall from scratch.
While I could just reimage my HD from the backup image I made when I originally installed my system (10.4.2 + QT 7.0), I'm considering updating beyond that, probably to 10.4.6
I've searched Apple downloads and previous versions of QuickTime don't appear to be available anymore - only QT 7.1.5. and 7.1.6. But I am reluctant to install QT 7.1.5 or 7.1.6 based on problems I've seen here and in the Final Cut Express forum.
Anyone know which version of QT 7 was packaged in the OSX 10.4.6 update?Updates don't necessarily improve things and the point updates often create as many problems as they solve. The combination of 10.4.2 and QT 7.0 has been rock solid and problem free for me.
I only update under controlled circumstances because I value system stability very highly. I have worked with and supported thousands of systems over the years and I can guarantee that the wanton application of updates is the #1 cause of problems.
The software crash I mentioned happened while iDVD5 was reconnecting media in a project that had been moved to a different hard drive. It corrupted something in QuickTime as well as the disk catalog on one of my backup drives. I don't believe it's a repairable problem and decided to reinstall the system. For me, that opened the question of whether or not to reinstall my existing disk image or build a new one from scratch.
OSX 10.4.9 has created major headaches for users of Final Cut Express and the QuickTime forum is full of problems associated with 7.1.5 & 7.1.6.
I am looking for recommendations on specific releases of QT (in this forum) and OSX that users have found to be especially solid. -

Why are images on page blinking after OSX 10.9.3 update on 5/21/14?
I have finally been able to get the strobe effect stopped. I've restarted at least 7 times and each time I got the light grey screen with the darker grey apple and the spinning wheel, but not the log in box I used to get before the 5/21/14 update. But I called my son and he did some research and told me to hold down the Shift key and type in my password, even if it didn't appear in the log in box. It worked and the log in box appeared and I was able to type in my password. After doing this for each of the 7 times, on my last attempt it appears the strobe effect has been weeded out. Thank God - I thought I was going blind with it affecting every screen I was on.

Problem using external screen and KVM switch since OSX 10.6.4 update
I've just returned from a trip during which I installed the OSX SL 10.6.4 update on my 13" MacBook Unibody Aluminium (late 2008).
It's been working fine but when I came home and plugged it into my KVM setup my mac could not find the external display. I tried rebooting and reconnecting without any success. The KVM is a Aten CS62DU USB and DVI model. It works great for my PC which is connected to the second input.
Furthermore I've connected the display using only the minidisplay->DVI adapter and a standard DVI cable. This works but not as rigid as it used to. It takes a few connects and disconnects before OSX is able to find the external screen. It seems that the timelimit for handshaking with extrenal screens have been decreased with the 10.6.4 display driver update. Perhaps this is the cause of my problem.
Have anyone experienced something simular since the 10.6.4 update? I really need to get my mac working with my KVM again.I haven't experienced this specific problem with this specific hardware, but I have updated systems and had to replace KVMs on lower releases of OSX because they simply refused to work.
Any chance a firmware update is available from the manufacturer of the switch? -
Actually, the problem on my iPhones started back with IOS 7.0.6, but I was hoping that 7.1 would fix them. This concerns me because Apple seems to have dropped support for the older Airport Express units (the configuration utility doesn't even run on Mavricks). I know that nothing changed on the Airport side, because I had three of them, and they all stoped working as soon as I updated my handsets. I really don't want to drop $300 to buy new Airport Expresses when these ones should be perfectly fine.
I think the lack of any communication is the answer. The Apple stopped supporting the older Airport Express units a while ago. Even the configuration utility no longer supports Mavericks. I believe that the security change needed in IOS 7.1 made it incompatible with the older Airport Express, and Apple has no desire to post a firmware fix to resolve this problem.
In short, anybody that was using the early generation of Airport Express for Airplay alone will now find that these units are basically paperweights. I sold mine on craigslist, as they are still nice portable APs, and reluctantly purchased new Airport Expresses because I wasn't quite ready to go the Sonos route. Speaking as an Apple Fanboy, this experience was very disappointing. -

The install disk for iWork 08 requires OSX 10.4.10
I had serious problems with 10.4.10 on both of my Intel Macs so I downgraded to 10.4.9 Now everything works!
Except, I cannot install iWork 08!

Also, Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go. Reboot when all done -
Blue screen of death after hardware upgrade - do I need updated BIOS?
I've upgraded my processor & double my memory and am aware that I need to put in a more powerful PSU (see seperate post on Seasonic PSUs).
However, I've also had a couple of Stop Errors and when I restart the machine and go through error reporting, Microsoft OCA tells me that my BIOS may not be compatible with the processor (new one is P4 3.2ghz, 800mhz FSB, 1mb L2 cache)
So... do I need to update the BIOS too, and if so, what is the best way to do it?

Can't open AppStore and Email app after installing the OSX Update 10.8.3
Hi there, after I installed the OSX 10.8.3 update I can't open my Email and App Store apps. This is the popup message that appears when i try to open those apps. I tried to reinstall the app but I can't open my App Store. I also downloaded and installed the OSX Update 10.8.3 and the 10.8.2 again from the download support page, but I couldn't solve my problem. Does anyone knows how can i fix it?

Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with proxy servers, or with networks that require a certificate for authentication.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, follow the prompts to reinstall the OS. You don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need your backup unless something goes wrong. If your Mac was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you’ll need the Apple ID and password you used to upgrade, so make a note of those before you begin. -

Some apps require updating when a new operating system comes out. Check with the developers of the apps you're having problems with and see if they have an update or workaround.

Why does Firefox not scroll the page when selecting & the cursor reaches the bottom of the screen
When selecting text on a screen page, when the cursor reached the bottom edge of the screen Firefox (9.0.1) does not scroll. Other programs (including IE) do so, so it does not appear to be a local computer problem.
I cannot see a setting on the options page that enables/disables this so what is the solution?Enable the Add-ons bar (Firefox > Options or View > Toolbars; Ctrl+/) or the Find bar (Ctrl+F) to make Firefox scroll the page while selecting text.

Screen repeatedly locking up while typing or scrolling... and other questions.
My latest problem with this phone--in addition to the many that others have already complained about--is that it will just randomly shut off while I'm in the middle of typing, or scrolling down a webpage. It'll do this repeatedly in rapid succession for a few minutes until I either get disgusted and re-boot the phone, or sometimes it will just stop on its own.
Wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I am NOT referring to the "Black Screen of Death" where the screen won't respond period (though that's a frequent problem as well).
Also, is anyone else noticing that Verizon's representatives have been substantially less than helpful when asking questions about this phone? They're either completely clueless about anything to do with it, then get belligerent and nasty when you correct them (sorry, but I expect the "Smartphone Technician" to at least know the difference between a Motorola update and a Droid update), or they do the phony "we can try and troubleshoot it for you" line of nonsense.
Oh, and has anyone found a case that can accommodate the extended battery? I asked, and they said none were available yet. Good job people. Make a phone where the extended battery is necessary, make it flimsy, then don't put out a protective case for it. I'm afraid that if I drop this thing, it's going straight to the recycling plant in the sky...Hi geek_girl_913,
Your dissatisfaction with the Bionic powering off at random times is completely understood. I have checked my resources and found that Motorola is aware of this issue, since it has been brought to their attention by our Product Support Team. There will be an update to resolve this issue. Regarding a case that covers the extended battery, this is something that is normally not offered with any phone. However, if using an extended battery, maybe a pouch would be better for you to use. Some have holsters and some do not, but there is a wide array of pouches available. This way, the phone is protected, has the extended battery, and you are still able to have easy access to it.

My mac goes to sleep and when i turn it on again the screen just blinks
first time it happened, i closed my macbook's lid and when i was about to use it i clicked the power button but the screen just blinked. i tried to click the trackpad and it just blinked again. After that, i tried to force it to shut down. force shut down didn't work until after a few tries and all the while the screen just blinked everytime i tried to press the power button.
It has happened three times since. what should i do?You may try the procedures in this support article. I suspect a trip to the Apple genius bar will be the best option. You probably have some hardware issues, such as the display or the GPU and the technicians will be to make to make a definitive determination.

Hi, I dropped my i-phone 4 down the toilet 6 days ago and have left it in rice to dry out. When i try turning it on there is no power. I connected to charger and the apple sign appears. After a while it shows iOS6 on screen and then asks me to connect to i-tunes however my i-phone does not appear on i-tunes. Can you advise me what to do next?

I cannot get mail to quit on my computer, it wont even let me shut my computer down
