WhoIsWho User Search fails (User 30,000)

Hi All,
We have a EP 7.0 SR1 Portal.
We have configured the UME for 5 different LDAP's. We have around 30,000 users.
<b>WhoIsWho search Iview fails to get the results.</b>
PS: We have already set the ume.admin.search.maxhits parameter into the
config tool to 30,000.

Yes, I know of that 100 column limitation. But notice that I had 79 columns. Also, it doesn't mention the fact that you can display a certain amount a column, but you are then not able to use the search bar fully.
"One interactive report per page.
100 columns can be seen using report columns. You can edit additional columns using Tree view or paginating through Report Column Attributes.
1,000,000 rows per column heading filter (if no custom LOV is specified in the column attributes).

So the issue that I have is a non documented issue, unless I'm missing something.

Find "Other" search fails when "User" folder selected - bug?

I have several partitions on my disk.
On my boot partition, I have 2 .aiff files in a sub-directory of my Documents folder. Using the Finder's "Find" command (not spotlight),
select search for File Type "other" and "AIFF Audio" from dropdown
select the "Users" folder as the only folder to search - "Find" shows no files
select only "Home" to search - finds them.
select both "Home" and "Users" to search it doesn't find them.
select the partition (Called "OSX") it finds them.
select partition "OSX", folder "Users" and "Home" - it finds them
also - I can get Finder to reset with double-click:
With a search that finds them, select the file so its path appears in the panel at the bottom of the window.
Modify the Find to search only "Users". The window clears and no files show, however the path of the previously selected file remains.
Double click on the path name, the Finder resets ( - in other words, quits, closing all open FInder windows, then restarts without reopening any of those Finder windows)
Is this a bug or what?

I was having a very similar problem on my computer. I found that this discussion thread solved my problems.

In short, try re-indexing your drive or home folder. You can do his by opening Preferences->Spotlight, select the Privacy tab. Add your hard drive or your home folder to the list by drag and drop or hit the plus symbol at the bottom. Wait a second and remove the drive or folder. It will take several hours for the drive or folder to re-index but the find/search command will start working correctly right away.

Urgent: Search for user with 'ß' character failed.

Hi all,
I have problem for searching the user with 'ß' character included in the name of user in Identity Management.
When nothing is specified in the search criteria, then the user is displayed.
When the name of user without 'ß' is given in the search criteria, then also the user is displayed.
But when the name is given with 'ß' in search criteria, the user is not recognized and cannot be displayed.
'ß' is the German Character.
Please help me out, why the user is not recognized with the character 'ß' in the search criteria.

Hi,
You can ofcourse use ß and all other chars in your search.
It makes no sence that you can create users with these chars, but cannot search using them.
I tried to create user with char ß and also could search with this char. So it is only a local problem on your server.
Is your UME connected with LDAP or DB? My UME where I tested is DB.
So dont give up, open an OSS message with SAP for a solution and also update this thread if you find an answer.

I have an critical ssue to be solved on Production environemt :(,
we have oim installed on cluster in production(OIM11g installed on server ), the configuration is as mentioned below
cluster 1--oim1,soa1--server1--holds admin server
cluster 2--oim2,soa2--server2--managed server and no admin server
This instance was working fine, we had to restart the server machine for some reason and i am not able to start OIM server :( after that.

I think you have to raise SR with oracle, because it is prod environment.

KM Search iView for User Search

Hello,
I am trying to create a new iView for User Search based on the KM Search iView Template. However, in the properties of the iView (Property Editor) there is no option to assign the ume index (contains users) to the iView. I previewed the iView, entered just a "normal" search term assuming that the iView would at least search for something, but the following error message occured. "TemplateError during search occurred - com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: Index is corrupted, rollback required;index=ume,location=iwdf0003:39103 (Errorcode 2008)"
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Hi Katharina,
now I understand. The problem is that you can't just use the KM search iView, you need to use a special iView based on com.sap.netweaver.coll.WhoIsWho or com.sap.netweaver.coll.WhoIsWhoNarrow. The configuration to be done (if you named the index for example not "ume") is described <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/05/a62c42de59da2ce10000000a1550b0/content.htm">here</a>.
You can also find this iView in the com.sap.netweaver.coll.demo.CollaborationDemoRole role by navigating to Collaboration Demo -> People-Centric -> Who's Who.

User search in group

Hi All,
Iam having a problem in searching the user in group tab.
Iam having about 2500 users in portal and all og them are assigned to a group.When Iam searching the user in that group it is taking about 10 min to search for a single user.
All the users are in LDAP but the group is not pointing to LDAP.
User UNique IDS are of the form USER.CORP_LDAP.<userID>
Grops have unique IDS in the form GRUP.PRIVATE_DATASOURCE.un:<Group ID>
so my question is as the users and groups are both not pointing to LDAP it is taking time for me to search user in the group?
If yes, how can I reduce the search time ?

a while ago I worked with a portal installation that came up with very large user groups. The number of user members were far above 10 000. We had enormous performance problems searching for users. On enquiry SAP recommended to avoid large numbers of group members to increase performance. But that was back at SAP NetWeaver 2004.
Meanwhile I work with another portal installation (SAP NW 2004s SPS 09). Groups and user ids are stored in an LDAP. Number of users in a group is up to 4000. No problems there. For test purposes I created some groups in the portal database (UME) and assigned a couple of users stored in LDAP. Works fine as well.
How many users do you have in your groups?

-24950 ERR_USRFAIL: User authorization failed

Hello All,
I installed mini Sap in my system.
I have two entries in my host file.
1.) 127.0.0.1 localhost
2.) 10.10.0.10 computername
When i open SAP MMC and enter the user name and password in the database below the NSP with the computer name,
the error comes as -24950 ERR_USRFAIL: User authorization failed
i tried with all sorts of usr name and password please help me.

Search a user in Active Directory by his name

Hi all,
Is there a way to search a user in an Active Directory with some attributes ? For example, I would like to find all the users whose firstName is "Guillaume".
I use a Provider connected to an Active Directory to authenticate and it works fine. I have also implemented an UUP to get the profile of a user in this AD.
But for the moment, the only way I can find a user by his name is to
* get all the users from the AD (userProviderControl.getUserNames("*", SIZE_MAX))
* Then for each username :
- get his profile with PropertyControl and ProfileWrapper (each user has a ldap propertyset filled by the UUP) ==> propertyControl.getProperty(profileWrapper, PROPERTYSET_LDAP, PROPERTY_LDAP_FIRSTNAME) )
* Browse all the user profiles retrieved and find the good one.
Is there an API to do what I want ?
I'm using Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.

A DistinguishedName is of the form e.g. "cn=username, ou=Users,dc=hostname,dc=com". In other words it contains attribute names and values for each name component. Evidently your DN doesn't do that.

User Search result is not displaying

OIM 11g r1 custom field in simple user search result

Good morning,
i need to visualize a custom field in the OIM simple user search result table. At the moment, when a simple user search is performed, the returned attribute is only the "Display Name".
For the advanced user search result table, is possible to add other fields modifying the Search Results table configuration in Advanced->User configuration->Search Configuration.
How can i do the same the for simple user search result?

Let me try explaining my problem. In my project we are using two ADAM LDAPs. One for storing internal users and the other for storing external users. I have configured the portal to connect to both the LDAPs. I am able to search for the users created in both the LDAPs through portal Indentity Management.
I am trying to search for the users in a specific LDAP through Web Dynpro coding... I am not lucky enough to get it done. Let me explain you what I did.
I created a custom attribute for UME through config tool. Gave a physical mapping for the custom attribute in dataSourceConfig_xxx.xml to the LDAP attribute distinguishedName which returns the distinguished Name for the user in ADAM LDAP.
For Example: Custom attribute in UME is ldapuser which is mapped to distinguishedName attribute in ADAM LDAP in dataSourceConfig_xxx.xml.
When I do a search for the users in a particular LDAP, I am trying to put a filter to the newly created ldapuser attribute to distinguish between the two LDAPs.
The search will result if I pass the value as '*'. If I try to specify the user path for the LDAP in this attribute it doesnt result any data.
For example:
userSearchFilter.setSearchAttribute(
     "com.sap.com.cust.admn",
      "ldapuser",
     "OU=16482515,OU=Members",
     ISearchAttribute.LIKE_OPERATOR,
     false);
The above code will not return the data, whereas

Will result with user list from both the LDAPs.

I just figured it out. Under "group-policy GroupPolicy_COMPANY_SSL_VPN attributes", I had to add "vpn-simultaneous-logins 15". Apparently, it was using the value "vpn-simultaneous-logins 0" under the NOACCESS group policy.

Unable to search for users in CUP

When I am tryin to create a request in CUP , I am unable to search for users , the search option doesnt return any values at all
I have checked my user data source which is LDAP, the connector is working fine , and I have the field mapping done etc ,but I still cannot search for users.

This connector is defined by my Basis guy ,I am not sure what wouldl be the compelte path
have you got an example ?
I guess I will have to check with teh guys who maintain the active directory ( our LDAP system )

Error occured while searching for users in OIM admin console.

Hi Experts,
I deployed code from dev environment in to Test environment using deployment manager in OIM and also completed metadata import using weblogic metadataimport utility.Then when itried to search for users in OIM admin console. I am getting the following error.
Error messager:
ADFC-10001: cannot instantiate class 'oracle.iam.identitytaskflow.backing.taskflows.modifyuser.ModifyUserView'
ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #12
Did any body faced this issue?

I've faced same error !!

In OWB the repository user installation failed.

I have installed oracle 10g for oracle warehouse builder and installed owb.
after installation Im trying to create a reposity using uid: auroora pw:auroora
and i have entered all the connection fields at last it is showing an eroor as follows.
the reposity user installation failed on users
java.lang.exception
java.lang.Nullpointer.exception.
I will be thankful to u if u help me in this regard. waiting for u reply.

I have same problem (java.lang.exception java.lang.Nullpointer.exception.) when I try to add reporsitory user by Repository Assistant. When I fill all pages from that wizard and press Finish, then I get java exception error alert with exception mentioned above. Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production With the Partitioning, OLAP and Data Mining options and OWB client10.2.0.3.0/repository10.2.0.3.33. This happened since we have migrated from 32b to 64b version. Any workarounds???
