Why am I getting numerous emails saying "You have received this email because an AppleCare advisor has sent a Verification Code to confirm your identity."?? I got a Popup with a code, but I have no issue with my icloud account?
Is this legit?

when i want to create a face time it tells me to vertify my email address. When i go to do this i have to type in my apple ID and password on the Apple website, however when ever i do this i get a message saying Invalid account for this Email Address..

You can only authorise the songs you purchase from the iTunes Store to play on five computers.
You can download and install iTunes (the iTunes programme) onto as many computers as you wish.
Two different things.
Assuming therefore, that your problem is that you have authorised five computers, but now no longer have some of them, you need to de-authorise all your computers and then re-authorise the computers you still have.
To de-authorise your computers, go to your account in the iTunes Store and look for the Deauthorise All button. -
what settings do I need to have to access Ashford University's student portal using either Safari or Firefox when I get the following message: The system is unable to process your response at this time. If you feel you have received this message in error. Please contact your System Administrator, or try again at a later time.
I am able to get to the Ashford University login display with no difficulties with both Firefox and Safari. Obviously without a student password I cannot go any further. If you can do the same, then clearly the problem is at the other end. If that is the same case with you, then there is no advice that I can give you but to stir the pot as best you can.

If you have been migrated from BTYahoo to BTMail you will receive an email from BT telling you of that.
There are some phishing email doing the rounds. The genuine email does not ask you to click on any links to verify your details so if the one you have does, you should ignore it.
See this link which will tell if you are on BTMail or BTYahoo.

I go to Firefox, then Bookmarks and click Talktalk (email server).
Log in to email but then get above message and unable to operate my talktalk email.
All is ok if I go through Safari or Int Exp.Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.

It thinks there is no information there! If I revert to 3.6 how long will security be maintained. At the moment I am opening Mozilla for web browsing but IE for my email account. I am not very PC literate so need simple answers.

Because administrative priviliges are required? We can't know anything because you haven't provided any relevant info. We don't know what program you are referriung to or what system as well as whether or not you are actualyl operating under a user account with sufficient user privileges...

We migrated a server (ldap and file serving) to some new machines, which have new names. We've got all of the login and file sharing functionality working on the new machines, but wherever we have a mount of a share in the Login Items for a user, we can't get the old machine out of the Login Items. It's not fatal, but it does make login take a lot longer because it has to fail first.
We can mount the share from the new server, and save THAT in a NEW Login Item just fine -- it's just that when you click on the old defunct one the minus sign is greyed out, and the mouseover says "You cannot change this item because it's managed by your system administrator." There is a yellow triangle next to the item in the list. Went into the user's ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginitems.plist and it's not in the file. The /Library/Preferences don't have anything that looks like a plist of the right name.

Microsoft today I was told the same thing/it was more than likely a virus on my personal PC at home. As most people likely do, I use wireless internet in my home on the affected computer. Solution; as suggested by Microsoft rep was to have the virus
professionally removed either by someone or to use their remote service for a fee of $149 which comes with several guarantees and does not require you to re-install software or documents. I hope that my response was of some help to you. I also kept trying
to fix this problem but wasted a lot of time. He also suggested to Google the proxy problem to see if ANYONE has any alternatives to fixing this problem!

On my new machine I get a message saying "You can't open Photoshop CS2 because Power PC applications are no longer supported". I don't have a Power PC on either machine and this App does run on the older machine with an Intel processor. benrusy
This is not new. The fact that Mac OS no longer supports PowerPC applications starting with OS X Lion has been known for over a year now. You'll need to upgrade to the latest version of Photoshop
