Since upgrading firefox my tiscali (through Talk talk) email account will not allow me access to my emails saying 'You have undefined new mails in your inbox' and will not open the page. it works on Internet Explorer.

It thinks there is no information there! If I revert to 3.6 how long will security be maintained. At the moment I am opening Mozilla for web browsing but IE for my email account. I am not very PC literate so need simple answers.

Apparently TalkTalk mail will work with Firefox 4 and Firefox 5 ''if'' you set the browser to ''lie'' to TalkTalk mail by saying that you are still using version 3.6.
You can find the instructions for that in a post on the TalkTalk forums: [http://www.talktalk.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=185113#post2452787 Firefox 4 & TalkTalk webmail - Forums].
Note: when you open about:config the first time, it will display a warning message that you should be careful with the changes you make. That's definitely good to bear in mind.
Does it work?

  • Tiscali mail works fine with Internet explorer saying "you have 3 new mails in your inbox", with Firefox 5.0 it says "you have undefined new mails in your inbox". I cannot proceed beyond this point. Please advise david.tose@tiscali.co.uk

Internet Explorer + Tiscali mail gives message "you have 3 new mails in your inbox (18% full)". Mail interaction OK
Firefox 5.0 (freshly installed) + Tiscali mail gives message "you have undefined new mails in your inbox''. From here I cannot proceed.
Is there a mail handler problem that causes Firefox 5.0 to fail?

Yep, exactly the same problem only on W2K SP4. Firefox5 doesn't work but IE (on the same machine) does.
Sorry, I'm not sure what version version of IE is being used.
(It's the PC at work that has the problem and I'm writing this at home on my linux box which has Firefox version 3.6.18 for linux mint - which also works fine.)
I really hope this can be fixed soon.

I've been using the Firefox browser for nearly a year now but for the past three days I can't open my tiscali email account via Firefox. The message "you have undefined new mails in your inbox" comes up. Talk Talk technical help says there is a problem with Firefox and advised me to use Internet Explorer. I can get into my account through Explorer but would much prefer to use Firefox so please help me out.

  • How do I enlarge a small photo I have scanned to my computer photo album ("My Pictures") to facebook; the steps that worked for Internet Explorer won't work for Mozilla?

I scanned a small photo(2 x 3) with my Dell printer and stored it in my computer photo album "My Pictures." Now I would like to upload an enlargement of the picture to my Facebook photo album. The steps I used with Internet Explorer for enlarging an uploaded photo for Facebook will not work with Mozilla. My Adobe Flashplayer that I used with Internet Explorer would not work with Mozilla, so I downloaded a plug-in Adobe Flashplayer (10.) What else do I need to do? Please give me specific instructions as I am 69 years old and not as computer literate as young people! LOL Thank you. Evelyn Drown E-mail: [email protected]

  • From 27 June unable to access my TalkTalk email inbox it says "You have undefined new emails in your inbox". Also can't get CONTACTS. I assume a Firefox problem as I can get email via Safari or Int Exp. Any solutions? Chris Marshall.

I go to Firefox, then Bookmarks and click Talktalk (email server).
Log in to email but then get above message and unable to operate my talktalk email.
All is ok if I go through Safari or Int Exp.

hi, i've just bought my first macbook pro, i just installed office mac and when i open the page i cannot see the minimise maximise and close buttons as it's hidden behind the apple menu bar, also when it's at full screen, those buttons do not appear

Try to edit the size of the page using the sides of the page, or if you are desperate, force quit using command-Q. In full screen put your cursor on the top of the page, and the menu bar will appear. If it doesn't keep "pushing" it up until it does. Hope this helps!

  • My Talk Talk web mail will not allow me access to my inbox since upgrading to vsn 4 Mozilla (says "You have unresolved e-mails"). Access ok through internet explorer.

  • Win XP, FF 9.0.1-- Open Library Window, Click "Import and..." Tab, which opens the Import Wizard. Select "Internet Explorer", then "Next" Button, then nothing happens. The next pane of the Wizard ("Items to Import") doesn't open, nothing.

The only odd thing that had happened was that during the initial run of FF, when it connects to the Mozilla site, I lost my (dialup) Internet connection and didn't complete that initial contact. Bookmarks, etc seem to work, I just can't import from the old browser.

If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.<br />
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File
    See also:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Import_bookmarks ("Import from another browser" and "Import from file")
