Why am I having to restart Nightly nearly everyday for small update versions? It's a bit frustrating.
I open up Mozilla to my saved tabs and a box pops up stating Nightly needs to restart to update. I usually have my pc on "sleep" but wonder if I can just do one big update and get it over with?

The word Nightly only refers to one specific channel though, not referring to the updates or the folder they are in. The Aurora (now aka Developers Edition) just happen to get checkins almost everyday also.

I purchased my imac in November of 2010 and below is a cut and past from Hardware overview. It has 1 TB hardrive, with 670 GB free. When i start up in the morning, it boots normal then freezes. Half the time i can get it to restart before it freezes, other half i have to power down then restart. At the same time throughout this process the little pixel squares show up sometimes in a single line or two aross the screen, then sometimes more random. After about 7 times of rebooting, everything runs fine for the day with no weird pixels. then i shut down at night, and start the porcess over in the morning. Thanks for your help!

I am having same problem with apple tv need 4.4 version and can not find solution this a brand new product out of box yesterday why would it not already have updated version. I am getting frustrated that I can not get this mirroring icon to work. I have tried all suggestions in this thread and nothing works. I also hooked up to laptop through iTunes with micro USB nothing!!!
The new appletv software came out 2 or 3 days ago, how would Apple get it on the device in the box in a store?

While saving a workflow using SharePoint designer on a SharePoint site, I get the following error:
Server-side activities have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities.
Steps to recreate error:
Login to the WFE server hosting IIS and workflow manager, open SharePoint Designer 2013 and login to a SharePoint site.
Access the list using SharePoint Designer 2013, in the workflow section, click new workflow.
In the new workflow dialog, enter workflow details, click save (see screenshot below).
Error message is displayed as below:
After restarting SharePoint Designer, the saved workflow is not seen in the site/workflows or list/workflow section.
Workaround
When the above steps are repeated while accessing the site via SPD from any other box besides the WFE/Workflow manager host server, the error is not encountered and its possible to save/publish workflows.
Notes
Workflow Manager 1.0 is installed.
The site has been registered with Workflow manager using Register-SPWorkflowService
cmdlet.

Please close your SharePoint Designer application, clear/delete the cached files and folders under the following directories from your server installed SharePoint Designer, then check results again.

I have the following scenario for the installation of EPM 2013 environment:
1 Server running Windows 2008 R2 SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 2
1 Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1, running Sharepoint 2013 Enterprise (Standard Initially installed and then migrated to the Enterprise in order to install Project Server 2013), Project Server 2013 and Workflow 1.0 (2013).
After configuring and validating the configuration of Workflow 1.0 by http://server_name.example.com:12291 page and also check the Application Services in Central Administration and receive the Workflow Status = Connected.
Alright, but when I run the SPD 2013 RTM to test the creation of Sharepoint Workflow 2013, I get the following warning:
"Server Side activties have been updated. You need to restart SharePoint Designer to use the updated version of activities."
I've tried:
a. Restart SPD2013;
b. Restart Server 2013 and Sharepoint Workflow 1.0;
c. Reinstall and reconfigure Workflow 1.0
And the message is always displayed, preventing the use of Workflow Sharepoint 2013.
Can anyone help me, I'm in the middle of a deployment to a customer.

Why is Adobe not working after I've downloaded the recommended updated version??
Why is Adobe not working (I don't get even a picture!!, let alone audio) after downloading the recommended "updated version?"
When I try to read the news clips...like OMG, or any of the "gossip" that involves a short video clip, a screen pops up saying that there's a new version of Adobe, which I should update to. So I updated it...by the usual clicking where it says to click and I can see the new version being added. But, after it's finished updating, I don't get even a picture...or sound...of the usual OMB lady speaking, nor do I get the video clips of any of the "gosspi" items or trailers, or anything else.
There's just a big, blank space where the video would normally be showing.
I could see the updates taking place on a separate screen that pops up, too. It took a minute or so to finish. I've done it at least 5 times, but I still get just a blank space in place of the picture and sound that used to pop up! (The video clip of the father who jumped out of a moving car to pick up his daughter, who fell out of the car onto the road, for instance, does not appear...just a blank space!)
I hope this clarifies my problem.

Why do I have to restart Illustrator in order for a newly opened font to appear?
When I open a font using Suitcase it won't appear in Illustrator until I restart Illustrator? It used to do it automatically but I just got my iMac back from the Apple store after repair. Is there a setting that could have gotten turned off?
Okay - I solved my own mystery. It was as simple as going into Suitcase Preferences / General / check the box for "Auto-activate fonts for the following applications" / click the + and add Illustrator (or any other program). I knew it was a simple fix but it was driving me crazy! Thanks anyway for your input.

You can compare your PC and another machine which is working, see if it is related to IE settings(e.g. SharePoint urls in trusted sites zone).
And you can try re-install the SharePoint Designer 2013 with same version and bit-version(32/64) on your PC like another machine, then check again.

Why do my numbers documents not open and ask for a newer version

This is confusing to a lot of people. When you downloaded the new version of Numbers (this would have happened automatically unless you turned off 'Install app updates' in System Preferences > App Store) the old version remained on your Mac. The new version is in Applications. The old version is in a subfolder within Applications. The icons look similar so it's easy to think you're trying to open a document with the new version whereas in fact the old version has been activated and is trying to open it.
If you tend to open documents from Finder then right-click and Open With ... Numbers.app (3.0).
Or you can open Numbers 3.0 (the one in the Applications folder, not the iWork '09 subfolder) and open the document from there.
Any icons you had on the Dock before the upgrade are of course still pointing to the old version.

yes it isn't working with iOS7, you need to go into settings>celluar>reset network settings and then it works, down side is all wifi networks you have saved you'll need to add the passwords again for the secure networks, extremely frustrating.. not to mention it forces you to send via text messaging which then gets added to your cell plan with your provider.. sure hope they fix it soon, this is very Windows like upgrades with Apple

Why are POST/REPLY not an option near to the articles ?
Like in nearly every other messageboard systems, the POST/REPLY is needed in the context of an article. Its awkward to step into another menu, before one can do POST to something you have forgot in the meantime.
Also, the postings that gets Locked is a bit mystic. The lock symbol should appear near the postings/replies and not in the header away from where you read.

your critic is comprehensible, but in my opinon every forum is differently built up! Toshiba had decided to do it in this way. But as far as I know there are certainly some moderators in the background. They will read it ad report (I'll hope! :-))
About locked topics I can only tell you that in my opinion the moderators lock some topics if they mean the problem is solved or the user had solved his problem for his own!
It is very difficult to lock a topic (I had a forum running at my private HP) for the moderator!
And the user, who opens the Thread, can reopen it when the topic was closed by a moderator!

Saving in USB and retrieving file problem?
