I get some group texts. Sometimes I'll get them the next day. And sometimes I never get them at all.

I have two computers, my iMac and an XP running Outlook. Both have the same settings to retrieve email from my hosting service.
I am only getting some email to my iMac/Mail app. That is, I can log onto my web server and see eMails marked as unread that won't download and others that do download.
All messages come to my XP / Outlook box.
I have been on with my hosting tech support and everything is fine from their side, so I assume it must be something with Mail.
Please help, this is my first week in the Apple world after being a windows user for over 15 years.

Hello Paul.
Be carefull when using multiple mail clients on a single POP account, that's not the way POP was designed.
Consider using IMAP instead, or be carefull with the settings of each of your email client, especially concerning the deletion policy.
Most email client can be configured to delete message from the server immediatly, after a period of time, or never.
What could happen is Outlook does retrieve mail fine, then deletes them.
When Mail comes to get the mail, it only gets the one arrived after the last Outlook retrieve, but Mail by default keeps message on the server for something like 7 days, that's why Outlook can then retrieve all messages the next time it checks your POP account, but because it deletes them all, Mail is missing some of them.

What apps are you trying? TV out video only works with apps that support TV out. If the app does not support TV out you will still get aoudio via the component cable

I'll forward your concern to our Product Managers. I understand that it can be frustrating to see features disabled after licensing the product. With the addition of subscription pricing, there's added questions as to what is included with each option. We're working to clearly communicate the offerings but there's more to be done.
For a little more background, Adobe has always enabled the trial license as Photoshop Extended since it was introduced in CS3. The basic reason being with a single installer, one can try the full range of Photoshop features, then with a serial number enable what's desired. We use other marketing material to try and differentiate the features that are only enabled for the Photoshop Extended version.
This solution has its problems, and distributing separate installers for Photoshop and Photoshop Extended has other problems.
My basic cheat sheet after activation looks like this:
Single installer package for all offerings
Trial license — Photoshop Extended
Photoshop Extended (perpetual license) — Photoshop Extended
Photoshop (perpetual license) — Photoshop

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. It just wasn't worth the hassle. I got a good (standard size) monitor for about half the price of the old one, so I'm not too disappointed. Thanks for your help though

Did you purchase the ringtone or make it yourself by taking an excerpt from a song?
If taking an excerpt from a song, it must be 30 sec or less. Once you get the 30 sec clip, you have to create an AAC version of the clip. Open the folder with the AAC version of the clip and change the file extension to .m4r I believe. Then double click the new file and it will automatically be loaded in the "tones" folder. You can then open the "tones" folder in iTunes and drag it to your iPhone which is connected to iTunes on your computer.

Only getting the last layer of text animation

Hi, complete newb here. I've watch most of the tutorials and looked thru the forum but didn't see anything addressing this. When I export to swf and then try to view the html code I only get the last line of text animation, the 1st line doesn't appear. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I'm still not clear what you are describing here. With AE, it's either one or the other, not both. Any element that requires rasterization will also enforce rasterization of other elements, so you essentially end up with a JPEG sequence wrapped in an SWF. This, by all means should render everything as you see in the comp window. From your description it seems to me that you are trying to retain editable SWF objects for further editing in your other programs and naturally, since this is severely limited, not everything comes across. If you cannot resolve this, pretty much your only option is to render a FLV and play it on your website. If you had CS4, you could also use XFL exchange with special preparation (all elements need to be PNG in the main comp) and then convert it in Flash. Another workflow that realyl gives you the best of both worlds without the excess baggage of Flash Pro would be to use Flash Catalyst. You could open your PSD there, animate it and export a slim and optimized SWF directly. Whatever you do, maybe you could read the help sections on SWF and XFL export again. This might help you to figure out where it is going wrong for you from the AE end.

Only contacts added to the iCloud group will sync with iCloud. To make this your default, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...scroll down to the Contacts section and tap Default Account. Here, choose iCloud as your default. After doing so, new contacts will be added to iCloud and sync with your iCloud account.

I run several processes and now they only get some 30% cpu in total, pre-Mavericks they got 100% each – what has happened?

From Terminal I use gmake to run rather calculation intensive processes, usually in severel threads for several days. I need to process some 120000 files containing around 10 Tbyte data in total. The tools I use are implemented in C++ and have no GUI. Pre-Maverick this worked as expected: running four threads I got 4X100% cpu. After upgrading to Maverick I typically only get 30% in total. No other process is "stealing" cpu time, the computer is just sitting idle...
Basically, my calculations now run at 1/16 the original pre-Maverick speed due to the lack of cpu time.
In Activity Monitor I can tell that App Nap is off for these processes.
I disapled timer coalescing, but it didn't help.
Why are my processes somehow given such low priority?
How can I solve this issue?

Thanks for the reply. They might execute slightly faster after recompilation, but I don't really see why it would get me more cpu time? They execute as fast now as they did pre-Mavericks in terms of user+system time, but it does not help as they only get 1/16 as much cpu resources...
Anyhow, one should try everything. I did recompile and it didn't help.
